Stockton NJ: Thomas J. McKenna, 70 Tuesday January 28th, 2003at his home. Born in Pittsburgh, Pa. He had lived in Hasbrouck Heights for many years and in Hunterdon County for the past ten years. He was a former member of Corpus Christi R.C. Church and was currently a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville. He was the former Acting Director of Human Services for Bergen County and recently retired as the Executive Director of ARC of Hunterdon County.
He is survived by his wife Aida Tinio McKenna, one daughter Rebecca McKenna of NYC, and four brothers, Fr. Jerome McKenna, C.P. of W. Virginia, Brother Robert McKenna, C.P. of the Philippines, Joseph McKenna of Pittsburgh, Regis McKenna of Sunnyvale, CA., several nieces.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday February 1st at 11:00 AM at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, 44 Bridge St. Lambertville. Entombment will follow in St. Magdalen’s Mausoleum, Flemington. Calling hours Thursday from 7-9 PM, Friday from 2 - 4 PM, 7-9 PM at Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville, NJ.

Gloria Everett, died 8-30-03
Solebury Twp.: Gloria Fitzpatrick Everett 81 died Saturday peacefully at her home.
Born in Bound Brook NJ, Mrs. Everett had lived in Lambertville for many years and in Solebury Twp. since 1948.
She was a member of St. Martin de Tours R.C. Church. She was a life member and president for 25 years of the Lambertville-New Hope Rescue Squad Ladies Auxiliary and was responsible for the scheduling and catering of the events held at their reception hall. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the New Hope Eagle Fire Co. and a past member of the Edgar H. Denson American Legion Post # 79 Ladies Auxiliary. Mrs. Everett was also a member of the both the Lambertville and New Hope Senior Citizens organizations.
Daughter of the late Joseph and Lucy Tarentino Fitzpatrick, she is survived by her husband of 59 years Walter J. Everett, Sr., one son Walter J. Everett Jr. of New Hope Pa., three daughters Gloria Jean Clark of Danboro Pa., Margie Carr of New Britain Pa., Linda Voorhees of W. Amwell Twp., NJ., four sisters Patricia Huber of Hopewell NJ, Lucille Payton of Doylestown, Dorothy Ankiel of Erie Pa., Evelyn Danak of Philadelphia, six grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces & nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 11:00 AM at St. Martin de Tours R.C. Church Rt. 202 New Hope Pa. Burial will follow in the Parish Cemetery. Calling hours will be Thursday from 6 – 9 PM at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville NJ.

Thelma Locandro
Stockton: Thelma Apgar Locandro 89, died Friday at St. Peter’s University Hospital in New Brunswick.
Born in Chicago Hts., Ill., Mrs. Locandro lived in New Brunswick most of her life and in Stockton for the past twelve years. She was a member of St. Agnes R.C. Church and St. Mary’s R.C Church in New Brunswick. Over the years she served as president of the various groups including the P.T.A. of the New Brunswick High School, Parker House Resident Group in New Brunswick, the St. Anne’s Society of St. Mary’s R.C. Church and many garden clubs. For many years Mrs. Locandro and her late husband Rocco owned and operated Rocco’s Hairdressing Salon in New Brunswick.
Daughter of the late Rosco and Edna Apgar and widow of Rocco Locandro, she is survived by two sons and daughters in law Roger and Marilyn Locandro of Delaware Twp., Ronald and Carol Locandro of Simsbury Ct.
A memorial mass will be celebrated January 31st at 10:00 am at St. Agnes R.C. Church in Stockton. Cremation and burial will be private under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Rt. 179 Lambertville.

Stephen C. Kuhns, died 5-24-04
New Hope Pa. Stephen C. Kuhns, 51 died peacefully at his home on Monday .
Born in Louisville KY, Mr. Kuhns spent his childhood in El Paso TX and most of his life in Austin TX. He had lived in the Lambertville NJ and New Hope Pa. areas for the past three years. He received BA degrees in Theology and Philosophy from St. Edward's College in Austin TX. He owned an aquatic garden business for many years in the Austin area and also was a self employed carpenter. More recently he received a Para Legal Certificate from University of Texas in Austin which was his current occupation. His primary focus in that role was to help those in need and the less fortunate. Mr. Kuhns was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church in Lambertville.
Son of the late Russell and Rose Kuhns, he is survived by his beloved wife Joyce, son Jesse Kuhns of Bryan TX and step sons, John and Brian Phelan of New Hope Pa.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday evening at 8:00 Pm at St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church 44 Bridge St. Lambertville. Calling hour will be Friday from 7:00 pm until the time of the mass at the church. All friends are welcome.

Arthur E. Landy, died 4-27-2005
Arthur E. Landy, age 74, died Wednesday at his home, surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Minneapolis, Mr. Landy made Bucks County his home for 34 years. He earned both B.S. and M.F.A. degrees from the University of Minnesota in painting and sculpture. As a faculty member at Bucks County Community College prior to his retirement, Mr. Landy founded the cinema production and film studies programs, and introduced thousands of students to the arts.
Mr. Landy is survived by his best friend and loving wife, Annette L. Conn, her son, Jesse, her niece Jody Dannenhower, and nephew Justin Livesy; Art’s daughter, Rachel Dietzman and her family, husband Gregg and children, Roald and Katherine, of Friday Harbor, WA; and son, Aaron Landy of Los Angeles CA. Art is survived also by the many colleagues and students whose lives he enriched through his teaching at Bucks County Community College.
Friends and relatives are invited to attend a celebration of Art's life on Sunday, May 1, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin Street, Route 179, Lambertville, NJ.

Vitalino DeGeorgio died 1-19-02
Vitalino DeGeorgio 76 died Saturday at the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Born in Pompton Lakes NJ, Mr. DeGeorgio had lived in Lambertville since 1949. He worked as an automobile mechanic at Parent’s Garage in Lambertville and as a machinist at Stout’s Machine Shop in W. Amwell Township. He was a former member of the Union Fire Co. and the Lambertville Ambulance Association. Mr. DeGeorgio served in the US Army during WW II.
Son of the late Bassilia and Mary DeRuzza DeGeorgio he is survived by his wife Margaruite Blanchard DeGeorgio, three daughters Ali Zacharkow of Florence NJ, Pearl Meyer of Morrisville, Pa., Doris Baker of Yorktown In., four sons Gerald Blanchard, Fred Roberts both of Trenton, Vitalino DeGeorgio of Glen Gardner, Alfonse DeGeorgio of Eklton Ky, two sisters Angela Panettieere, Viola Riccio both of Ca.
13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Thursday at 11:00 am at the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville, NJ. Burial will follow in the Rosemont Cemetery. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Jack M. Venettone, Sr. 4-9-02
Jack M. Venettone, Sr. 65 died Tuesday at the Hunterdon Medical Center.
Born in Lambertville he moved to W. Amwell Twp. In 1983. Mr. Venettone was an officer with the Lambertville Police Department for 32 years and for the last 15 years served as Police Chief of the Department. Mr. Venettone retired in 1996. He was a member of the State of New Jersey Police Chief’s Association and the Hunterdon County Police Chief’s Association. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, an avid hunter, fisherman and photographer. From 1968 to the present he along with his wife Ann operated Jack’s Photo Studio in Lambertville and W. Amwell Twp. Mr. Venettone served in the US Marine Corp.
Son of the late Michael and Mary Nanni Venettone and father of the late Debb Venettone, he is survived by his wife of 43 years Ann Jones Venettone, one son and daughter in law Jack M. and Heather Venettone Jr., one brother Eugene Venettone all of Lambertville, one sister Sylvia Seidenglanz of Naples Fl., one grandson Jack M. Venettone, III, two granddaughters Erica Venettone, Rachael Venettone, several nieces & nephews.

Jeff L. Grohe, died 4-21-02
Jeff L. Grohe, 57 died Sunday at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital, Philadelphia Pa.
Born in Orange NJ, Mr. Grohe lived in Wayne and Clifton areas for many years and in Delaware Twp for the past 21 years. He was a graduate of Wayne High School and was a former member and altar boy at St. Andrew’s Roman Catholic Church, Clifton. Mr. Grohe was a longtime member of the Wayne 4-H Club. From 1973 – 1983 he owned and was Chef at the Towne House Restaurant in Lambertville. He was a former member of both the Lambertville Kawanis Club, the Union Fire Co., and he is a current member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. For the past 15 years Mr. Grohe owned and operated J.L. Grohe Building Maintenance Co.
Son of the late Joseph Grohe he is survived by his mother Virginia Lawrence Grohe, his wife Lois Horant Grohe, one son Robert D. Grohe all of Delaware Twp. one brother and sister in law Gerard and Patricia Grohe of Newtown Pa., one nephew Christian Grohe of Newtown, several other nieces & nephews.

Catherine R. Hughes, died 5-4-02
W. Amwell Twp. Catherine Roletter Hughes 73 died Saturday May 4th,at her home.
Born in Brooklyn NY Mrs. Hughes had lived in Long Island, Manchester, CT., Yorktown Heights NY for 16 years and in W. Amwell Twp for the past 20 years. She was a former member of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Yorktown Heights and the parish secretary for 10 years.She presently is a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church. Mrs. Hughes was and avid reader, cross word puzzle enthusiast and animal lover.
Daughter of the late John and Josephine Dermody Roletter, she is survived by her husband, Charles R. Hughes, one daughter and son in law Kathleen Hughes and Michael J. Burgess of Delmar NY, one son John C. Hughes of Jersey City, one brother John Roletter of Brooklyn, NY, two grandchildren, Joseph M. and Catherine A. Burgess both of Delmar NY and her faithful dog Jerome.

James N. Rosso, died 9-18-03
James N. Rosso, 77, died peacefully at his home on Curley Lane on September 18, 2003. Dedicated to his family, friends, and community, Mr. Rosso was a long time resident of Lambertville. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church and its Knights of Columbus, the Lambertville Elks Lodge #1070, the Young Men's Athletic Club, Lambertville, the Toscanni American Legion Post #120, Lambertville, and he was a retired member of the Lambertville-New Hope Ambulance and Rescue Squad Association. He served his country as an aviation radioman in the US Navy Aviation during World War II.
In 1948, Mr. Rosso joined the Lambertville Police Force and worked his way through the ranks from Patrolman to Lieutenant. He next served as Chief of Detectives in the Hunterdon County Prosecutor's Office for 15 years, retiring in 1981. This prematurely grey, gentle, smiling man, who always had a twinkle in his eyes, performed his work with diligence and the understanding of a man who believes in the ultimate goodness of mankind, even if it was not always apparent.
As a community leader, Mr. Rosso was a Lambertville City Councilman for ten years and served as its President. He was also a Delaware River Joint Toll Bridge Commissioner for six years.
Mr. Rosso spent many of his happiest hours standing at the edge of the boundless ocean, gazing into the horizon or maybe just surf fishing. His later years afforded him the opportunity to pursue his natural talent for painting, and he became well known for his acrylics of local pastoral settings and various lighthouses throughout the country. Friends and family collected these paintings, knowing that one day they will be recognized for their unique primitive style.
Son of the late Norbert and Rebecca Oblinger Rosso and brother of the late Catherine Rosso Curtin, Mr. Rosso is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Mary Curley Rosso, his brother Rev. Norbert Rosso, CSSp of Helmet, CA, his two sons and daughters-in-law, Norbert and Alice Rosso and Philip and Cindy Rosso of Lambertville, his daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Bill Oberlink of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, his daughter, Mary Kay Rosso and her partner Jean Lantz of Treasure Island, FL, five grandchildren, James Rosso and his wife Amanda, Rebecca Rosso and Lee Hall, Daniel Rosso, Stephanie Rosso, and PJ Rosso, two step-grandchildren, Wendy and her husband Mike Goldstone and Scott Oberlink and his wife Kevin, two great-grandchildren Brielle Rosso and Ian Hall, two step great-grandchildren, Jackson and Graham Oberlink, nine nieces and nephews, seventeen great-nieces and great-nephews and five great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Monday at 9:00a.m. from the Garefino Funeral Home, 12 N. Franklin St. and Rt. 179, Lambertville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist RC Church Lambertville. The burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hours will be Sunday from 5-8 p.m. at the Garefino Funeral Home.

Florence Brummer Weingart, died 1-21-04
Florence Brummer Weingart, the first woman to be a working partner in a stock exchange firm, died on January 21st at age 91. An investment advisor with David J. Greene and Company from 1942 to her retirement in 1986, Weingart was for many years one of very few women to hold a position of responsibility on Wall Street. She was an early member of the Women’s Investment Brokers and Women’s Bond Club and also served on the Arbitration Board of the New York Stock Exchange.
Born in New York City, Weingart graduated from George Washington High School and attended Hunter College and Columbia University. She had worked as a secretary for several members of the New York Stock Exchange and Curb Exchange when she was hired by David J. Greene. When Greene transformed his firm into a partnership, Weingart was named as one of the five original partners.
After retiring, she lived in Rumson, New Jersey where she served on the boards of the Monmouth Visiting Nurses, and Planned Parenthood of Central New Jersey.
She was the wife of the late Robert A. Weingart and is survived by a son John Weingart, daughter-in-law Deborah Spitalnik and granddaughter Molly, all of Stockton, New Jersey. Also, Liz Spellman Dean, a niece in Holmdel, New Jersey and Peter Spellman, a nephew in West Newbury, Mass. And many beloved great and great-great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held at the Prallsville Mill in Stockton, New Jersey on Saturday Feburary 7th at 2:00 p.m.

Ellen E. Hilliard died 5-25-04
New Hope Pa. Ellen E. Hilliard 91 of New Hope died Tuesday at Elm Terrace Gardens in Lansdale, Pa.
A lifelong resident of New Hope, she was a graduate of New Hope Solebury High School and a member of St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church in New Hope.
Daughter of the late Michael and Agnes Cairns Tiernan and wife of the late Johnston A. Hilliard she is survived by two daughters and sons in law, Mary Ellen and Edward DuBois of New Hope, Karen and Paul Beiger of Holden Beach NC., one son and daughter in law, Jay and Sandra Hilliard of Lansdale Pa., five grandsons and their spouses, Michael and Kristin DuBois, Andrew and Julie Beiger, Todd and Liza Beiger, Adam Hilliard, Erik Hilliard, a beloved granddaughter Mara DuBois, and seven great grandchildren. She is also survived by maternal nieces and nephews Margaret Cadwallader, Margaret Kolbe, James Conover, Rose Marie Dare, Donald Conover, William Rickert and a sister in law Eleanor Hilliard.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30 am at St. Martin of Tours R.C. Church, 1 Riverstone Circle and Rt. 179, New Hope. Burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Calling hour will be 9:30 am until the time of the mass at the church.

Verda B. Dunphey, died 4-28-2005
W. Amwell Twp. Verda Bennett Dunphey 84 died Thursday at the Doylestown Hospital. Born in Jamesburg, Mrs. Dunphey moved to W. Amwell Twp. in 1955. A 1938 high school graduate Mrs. Dunphey received her BA from Wilson College in Chambersburg Pa and her MA from University of Pennsylvania. She taught 9th grade Latin and English at Kusser Annex in Hamilton Twp from 1942-47, a year of English at Lincoln Jr. High School in Park Ridge Ill in 1948. Mrs. Verda worked in the accounts receivable office for Commerce Clearinghouse of Prentice Hall for three years and then Latin and English again in Trenton High School from 1951 – 1977. Mrs. Dunphey was a member of the 2nd English Presbyterian Church in Mt. Airy. Over the years she served in many capacities with the church including Sunday School Teacher, serving as an Elder for a total of 19 years, as a member of the Ladies Society, and a member of the Friendship and Service committee to name a few. The church library bears the name of “The Verda Dunphey Library” in recognition for her many years of faithful service to the 2nd English Presbyterian Church.
Daughter of the late Lewis and Lena Conover Bennett, she is survived by her husband Floyd Dunphey, one brother Addison “Pete” Bennett of Panama City Fl., nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held Saturday May 7, at 11:00 am at the 2nd English Presbyterian Church 37 Mt. Airy Rd., Mt. Airy.
Pastor D. Paul LaMontagne will officiate. Arrangements are under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home in Lambertville.

George W. Huber, died 5-22-02
George W. Huber, 75 died Wednesday May 22nd at the Praxis Alzheimer’s Facility in Easton Pa.
Born in Lambertville Mr. Huber was a lifelong resident. He retired from the NJ State Department of Waterways in the canal maintenance division. He served in the US Army, and was a member of the Toscanni American Legion Post # 120 Lambertville, the Lambertville VFW Post # 7921. Mr. Huber was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Son of the late Oscar L. and Ruth C. Ford Huber and brother of the late Elmer Huber, Fred Huber, Warren Huber he is survived by one daughter Carol Lesnefsky of Hamburg, Pa., one brother and sister- in- law Oscar N. and Pat Huber, two sisters and a brother in law, Violet Johnson all of Lambertville, Catherine and Chet Munson of Jupiter Fl., several nieces & nephews.
A memorial service was held Friday May 24th at 8:00 PM at the Garefino Funeral Home 12 N. Franklin St. Lambertville. Burial will private and held at the convenience of the family. Friends visited with the family from 7:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Robert "Woody" McIlmoyle 6-27-02
New Hope, Pa. Robert “Woody” McIlmoyle, 89 died Thursday at the Buckingham Valley Nursing Home, Buckingham Twp.
Born in Philadelphia, Mr. McIlmoyle lived in the New Hope area most of his life. He was a member of the New Hope United Methodist Church. He owned and operated the New Hope Coal Company, was a truck driver for Skillmans Son Fuel Oil, and was a bus driver for Starr Transit in Trenton. He retired as a School Bus Driver with the New Hope Solebury Board of Education.
Mr. McIlmoyle was named Man of the Year in New Hope, served as New Hope Constable, was a past president of the New Hope Exchange Club and served on the New Hope Zoning Board. He belonged to the Midway Fire Company in Lahaska and was a Life Member of the New Hope Eagle Fire with over 50 years of service. Mr. McIlmoyle served as the President of the New Hope Eagle Fire Company for 27 years and served in various other offices over the years.
Son of the late Robert & Isabelle Woodrow McIlmoyle he is survived by his wife of 64 years Tophelia Shatt McIlmoyle, two sons and one daughter in law Robert and Margaret McIlmoyle of Parsippany, NJ, William McIlmoyle of Pendell, two grandchildren Michael McIlmoyle, Mary McIlmoyle McCann both of Parsippany.
A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at the Eagle Fire Company Sugan Rd. New Hope, Pa. Burial will follow in the Thompson Memorial Cemetery, New Hope. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the New Eagle Fire Co., PO Box 314 New Hope, Pa. 18938.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville NJ.

M. Kathryn Latella Burke 7-1-02
M. Kathryn Latella Burke, 44 died Tuesday at her home. Born and raised in Trenton Mrs. Burke had lived in Kingwood Twp. for the past 13 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church Kingwood, and avid photographer, tennis player and boating enthusiast. For 25 years Kathy worked for the Camera Shop Inc. in Broomall Pa., as Director of Store Operations and most recently for Cutler Camera of Delaware in the same capacity.
Daughter of the late Richard D. Latella she is survived by her mother Mary Orpen Latella of Trenton, her husband James L. Burke, one daughter Katie Burke, one son Patrick Burke both at home, three brothers and two sisters in law, Richard and Laura Latella of Washington Crossing, Pa., William Latella of Merchantville, Barry and Judy Latella of Gloucester, three sisters and two brothers in law, Lisa Migliaccio, Cheri and Eric Potts, Lori and Bill Kube all of Trenton,
Several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 1:00 PM at Our Lady of Victories R.C. Church Rt. 519 Kingwood Twp. Burial will follow in the Frenchtown Cemetery. Calling hours will be Friday from 11:30 am until the time of the mass at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Susan G. Komen Foundation PO Box 650309, Dallas TX., 75265-0309.
Funeral Arrangements are under the direction of the Garefino Funeral Home, Lambertville.
