Mrs. Sharon Moose Driskill, age 55, passed away July 2, 2006.
Sharon was born in Maryland September 30, 1950 to the late Jack and Viloria House Moose.
Sharon is survived by her husband, Billy Driskill of Meadowview, and special friends Mike Miller and Curt Mann.
At the families request no services will be conducted.

Nina Fayne White
Mrs. Nina Fayne White, age 66 passed away Sunday, July 2, 2006 in Johnson City Medical Center.
Mrs. White was born March 13, 1940 in Russell County, Virginia to the late Virgil Eugene and Nora Couch Cook. She was a member of the Jonesboro Church of God.
Mrs. White is preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and two sisters.
Mrs. White is survived by her husband, Teddy White, one son, Jamie Branson, two daughters, Vivian Melton, and Carrie Williamson, one brother, Bruce Cook, and three sisters, Shirley Sproles, Viola Ferguson, and Blanch Vance, three grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 8:00P.M. Wednesday, July 5, 2006 in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Pastor Michael Lusk officiating. Interment will be at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 6, 2006 in the White Family Cemetery in Lebanon, Virginia. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to assemble at the cemetery.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 6:00 P.M. until time for service.

Mary Virginia Smith
Mary Virginia Smyth Smith, age 100, passed away Monday, July 3, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Smith was born August 22, 1905 in Meadowview, VA to the late Hugh Lee Smyth and Mary Booth Smyth. She was a member of the Meadowview United Methodist Church and was an active member of the Betty Riddle Circle.She retired after 23 years of service with the Washington County Service Authority.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her parents, and husband, Odis Dennison Smith.
She is survived by nephews, Hugh Lee Smyth and wife, Pam, of Burke, VA, Odis Lynn Price and wife, Carolyn, of the home, Jerry W. Price and wife Clara of Glade Spring, VA, Charles Scott Price and sister-in-law, Elizabeth Price Turner of Blountville, TN, many cousins and many great-nephews and nieces, great, great nephews and nieces, and great, great, great nephews and nieces and a host of friends.Although she had no children, she was a mother to many.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 6, 2006 at the Meadowview United Methodist Church with Rev. Katye Fox officiating.Interment will follow in the Holston Conference Emory and Henry Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 5, 2006 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farris Funeral Service, 427 East Main Street, Abingdon, VA.
Pallbearers will be great nephews, Steven Smyth and Dr. Don Jackson, great-great nephew Don Jackson, III, Mike Crenshaw, Shane Crenshaw and Mark Farris.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Meadowview United Methodist Church and Meadowview First, Inc. both of Meadowview, VA.

Edith Arnold Barker
Surrounded by her loving family and friends, Edith Arnold Barker, 93, went to her heavenly home on Tuesday, July 4, 2006, at Francis Marion Manor in Marion, Virginia. Mrs. Barker was a life-long resident of the Plum Creek community of Washington County where she was the oldest living member of Washington Springs United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Barker was preceded in death by her husband, Ira E. Barker; a sister, Nell A. Grimes; and brothers Robert S. Arnold, Charles A. Arnold, and James W. Arnold.
Survivors include two daughters, Ellen B. Hammond and Marie B. Blankenship, and sons-in-law Bobby W. Hammond and R. Gerald Blankenship, all of Glade Spring.Mrs. Barker was also survived by four grandchildren including Sara Beth Hammond Robbins and husband Cary Robbins of Greenville, SC; Jennifer B. Ely and husband Brian Ely of Abingdon; Craig Hammond and Lindsay A. Blankenship, of Glade Spring, and two great-grandchildren, Gracie Hammond and Ellie Robbins. She is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Grimes of Glade Spring and Alice Conner of Marion; a sister-in-law, Eula V. Arnold, and brother-in-law, Thomas J. Grimes, Sr., both of Glade Spring.Additional survivors include several beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends after 6 p.m. at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Services in Abingdon on Thursday, July 6, 2006.Funeral services will be held at the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Services on Friday, July 7, at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Reverend Jeff Wallace, Pastor Larry Lusk, and Reverend Neville Mozingo.Interment will follow at Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring.
Pallbearers include nephews Scottie Arnold, Jimmy Arnold, Jack Grimes, Freddie Conner, and Charles Conner; and special friends Arnold McCready, Andy Wallace, and Willard Kestner.Honorary pallbearers will be Archie Young, Jim Owens, and the men of Washington Springs United Methodist Church.
At Mrs. Barker’s request and in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Washington Springs United Methodist Church Building Fund.

Curtis E. Bowman
Curtis Eugene Bowman, age 74, went to be with the Lord and his wife Bertha Lee Worley Bowman on July 5, 2006. Born on January 12, 1932 in Washington County, Virginia, Curtis was a son of the late S. T. Bowman and Lula Stewart Bowman. He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Lucille Carroll, Eula McCoy and Margaret Showerman and a great grandchild, Kason Robert Mulkey.
Curtis was a retiredlifelong farmer, although he stillenjoyed his farm, land and animals.Hehad also retired after 40 years of service with Southern Maid Dairy, Foremost Dairy, Farm Best Dairy and Dairymen Inc.
He is survived by his sons, Ronald E. Bowman and wife Peggy and Robert E. Bowman and wife Jeannie; his daughters, Robin E. Bowman and Rebecca E. Bowman Salyer all of Bristol; his sisters, Annalee Kaylor of Bristol and Ireene Anderson of South Bend, IN; his brother, Herschel Bowman of Richlands, VA; his grandchildren, Thomas A. Gathercole, Abigale B. Bowman, Kathleen Lee Mulkey and husband Jessie and Angela M. Simerly; hi great grandchildren, Allen Mulkey, Brady Mulkey, Joey Brendel, Jackson Simerly, Kierstyn Simery, Waylon Salyer, Jr. andMartha Salyer and several nieces and nephews.

Angela Mae Barrells
Angela Mae Barrells, age 85, died Thursday, July 6, 2006 at her home. She was born in Paris, Tennessee and had previously lived in Madison Heights, Michigan before moving to Abingdon 27 years ago. She was preceded in death by her sons, Kenneth Ray (Sonny) Barrells and Gerald David Barrells and her sister Francis Ashton. Angela was a member of the Abingdon First Assembly of God Church where she was active as a Sunday School Teacher and in the Women’s Ministry. She loved flowers, was a wonderful cook, lovedand cherished her family and was a very wonderful and loving mother, wife, grandmother and great grandmother.
Angela is survived by her husband of 69 years, Curtis Ray Barrells; her son, Robert D. Barrellsof tampa, FL;her daughters, Linda Ellen Rasnake and husband Kemper and Debra (Debbie) J. Jones and husband Roger all of Abingdon; her daughter-in-law, Margaret Barrells of Madison Heights, MI;her sisters, Louise Ellison of Madison Heights, MI; Norma Dene Ashton and husband Sherman and Bernita Totten and husband Russ all of Warren, MI; a special brother-in-law, James Ashton of Hazel Park, MI;10 grandchildren,7 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Eileen Johnson Holmes
Mrs. Eileen Johnson Holmes, age 78, passed away, Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital.She was born October 29, 1927 in Russell County, Virginia to the late Bob and Maggie Henderson Johnson.She had lived most of her life in the Hayter’s Gap community where she was President of the Hayter’s Gap Senior Citizens.Eileen had attended the Valley View Assembly of God Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert “Gene” Holmes and brothers, Garnett Johnson and Russell Johnson.
She is survived by her son, Michael Holmes and wife, Kathy of Saltville, Va.; sisters-in-law, Patsy Johnson of Meadowview, Va., Nell Moretz of Bristol, Va.; brothers-in-law, Cecil Holmes of Abingdon, Va.,Gerald Holmes of Bristol, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Geraldine Henderson of Saltville, Va. and Opal Davis of Abingdon, Va.

Mrs. Bessie Ellen Montgomery “Bess” Musick, age 85, passed away Sunday, July 09, 2006, at her home after a long struggle with cancer.She was a lifelong resident of Washington County, Virginia and was the daughter of the late Walter and Minnie Smith Montgomery.She was a member of the Central Baptist Church and was preceded in death by her husband, Shirley K. Don was a truck driver for Air Gas-Mid America in Kingsport and was a US Army veteran serving in Vietnam.He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #40 and the James E. Peggy L. Owens, age 58 passed away Friday, July 14, 2006 at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Washington County and was a member of the Rosedale Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Don “Daddy” Yarber and a brother, William H. “W. H.” Yarber.
Survivors include her son Billy Owens, Glade Spring, VA, her daughter, Becky Bare Griffitts and husband Keith, Sugar Grove, VA, her mother, Katherine O. Yarber, Glade Spring, VA, her “Little Brother” Donnie Allison, Abingdon, VA, her sisters, Monnie Wright, Chatsworth, GA, Pat Bise, Sue Warren, Omagine Brewer all of Glade Spring, VA, Nancy Chit-Khin, Meadowview, VA, a special grandchild, Brady Owens, also grandchildren, Erica Bare and Ali Bare, several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law, Jean Yarber, Abingdon, VA.

Roby Mable Matney
Mrs. Roby Mable Matney, age 85, passed away Friday, July 14, 2006 in Johnston Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Matney was born July 28, 1920 in Jolo, West Virginia to the late Wallace and Polly Day Breeding.
Mrs. Matney is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Arch Smith Matney, three sisters, and two brothers.
Mrs. Matney married Arch Smith Matney of Grundy, Virginia in 1935. They raised their five children in Grundy. Mr. and Mrs. Matney moved to Abingdon in 1964 and she attended the Abingdon Church of Christ for forty-two years.
Survivors include her children, Veda Brown of Riverside, California, Swanson Matney of Abingdon, Billy Ray Matney of Abingdon, Tonda Fluke of Bristol, Tennessee, and Elena Darnell of Fall Branch, Tennessee. Thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren also survive.
The funeral service will be held Monday, July 17, 2006 at 2:00 P.M. in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Mr. Joe Scroggin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be her eight grandsons, Jeff Cross, Brian Cross, Michael Matney, Brad Fluke, Kirk Matney, David Darnell, Billy Joe Matney, and Shannon Matney.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 P.M. until time for the funeral service at 2:00 P.M.in the funeral home.

Neil William Tolrud
Neil William Tolrud, age 57, died Sunday, July 16, 2006 at the Wellmont Bristol Regional Medical Center in Bristol, TN. He was a gentle, kind and loving individual and a man of honor and integrity. Neil was born on September 13, 1948 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and was a son of the late Irv andEvelyn Tolrud Sheets. Neil was also preceded in death by his dog Gurdy.
Neil was a decoratedU. S. Marine CorpsVeteran of the Vietnam War, having received 3 purple hearts, Navy Commendation Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and many other citations and awards. He had retired from the Roanoke Virginia City Police department as senior Homicide Detective after almost 30 years of service. During his career as a police officer, he attended and graduated from many FBI and DEA sponsored schools and seminars. He had also received various police merit awards from many different organizations as well as severalawards from the Roanoke City Police Department.Neil was an animal lover and humane supporter, an avid motorcycle rider and a member of the Roanoke Chapter of the Harley Riders Association.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte Warren Tolrud; a brother, Tom Tolrud and family of Tampa, FL; his dog, Harley; his mother-in-law, several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear and special friends and all of his Harley Rider friends.
A memorial service for Neil William Tolrud will be conducted at 2:00 P. M., Sunday, July 23, 2006 in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens) 19415 Lee Highway, Abingdon. Military honors will be provided by the Highlands Fellowship Church Veterans Honor Color Guard.In place of flowers, the family has asked that Neil be honored with memorial donations to the Bristol Humane Society, P. Lila Christine Roberson
Lila Christine Osborne Roberson, age 76, went home to be with her Lord on July 17, 2006, at her home.
Lila was born on Dec. 31, 1929, in Pound and was the daughter of the late Edward and Ruth Osborne.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Thurl Bruce Roberson, whom she married on July 28, 1950; her sons, Bruce Kent Roberson and wife Cheryl of Lebanon and Rodney Howard Roberson of Pound; her daughter, Christa Roberson St. John and husband Matthew of Dallas; her grandchildren, Kent Roberson and Erin Roberson of Lebanon, Connor Roberson of Pound and Emily St. John and Kathryn St. John of Dallas; her brothers, Donald Osborne of Wise and Larry Osborne and Charles Osborne, both of Pound; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Lila Christine Osborne Roberson will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday, July 21, 2006, in the Chapel of Love Mausoleum at Temple Hill Memorial Park in Castlewood, with the Rev. Matthew St. John officiating. Entombment in the mausoleum will follow the service. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the Chapel of Love Mausoleum.
