Mrs. Vergie Ellen Osborne Bordwine, age 74, passed away, Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at the Johnson City Medical Center.She had lived most of her life in Glade Spring, Virginia and was of the Pentecostal faith.She was preceded in death by her husband, George R. Bordwine and a son, Billy Joe Bordwine.Vergie was known in the community as “old friend” since she enjoyed being around people, especially children.She is survived by:

A funeral service will be held Friday, July 21, 2006, at 6:30 PM in the Main Street Chapel of Farris Funeral Service with Ministers Danny Runyon, Duane Smith and Mr. Johnny Boardwine officiating.A committal service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday in the Baptist Cemetery.The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home. Gladys Juanita Carwile
Mrs. Gladys Juanita Carwile, age 65, went to be with the Lord Thursday, July 20, 2006, and is now walking on the streets of gold.
She had lived most of her life in Washington County, Va. She was a member of the Appalachian Independence Center and attended the Berry Creek Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mary Alexander, and a brother, Caney Alexander.
She is survived by her husband, Ed Carwile; a son, Eddie Carwile of Richmond; a daughter, Mary Teaters and husband James of Chilhowie; honorary daughters, Karen Thornes of Parksley and Maggie Riggle of Wytheville; six brothers, Richard Alexander and wife Judy of Meadowview, Carl Alexander and wife Vonda of Abingdon, Dan Alexander of Meadowview, Lloyd Alexander and wife Carolyn of Damascus, Clyde Alexander and wife Debbie of Glade Spring and Ralph Alexander and wife Brenda of Rutherfordton County, N.C.; two sisters, Shirley Hurd and husband Marvin of Meadowview and Thelma Cannon of Meadowview; grandson, Bradley Teaters; and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted Sunday, July 23, 2006, at 11 a.m. in the Forest Hills Chapel of Farris Funeral Service (located on the grounds of Forest Hills Memory Gardens, 19415 Lee Highway), with the Rev. Rick Cuddy officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Hills Memory Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6-9 p.m. Saturday at the Forest Hills Branch.

Malcolm Donnell Ingle
Malcolm Donnell Ingle, age 84, died Friday, July 21, 2006 in the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.
Malcolm was born onNovember 29, 1922 in Washington County, Virginia and was a son of the late Gilbert Ingle and Isabelle McGuire Ingle. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jeanette Rush Ingle and his brothers, Lloyd Ingle and Howard Ingle.
Malcolm had retired from the Glenrochie Country Club in Abingdon; had previously worked for Pet Milk Company and had been a farmer all his life.
Survivors include his daughter, Patricia Ingle of Bristol, VA; his sons, Gary Ingle and wife Sandy, David Ingle and wife Diana, Jeffrey Ingle and wife Connie and Eddie Ingle and wife Tammy Ingle all of Abingdon; his brothers, Hubert Ingle of Kingsport, TN and Anthony Ingle of Hopewell, VA; his sisters, Dora Owens of Bristol, VA and Hazel Emory of Hopewell, VA;a special friend, Irene Reynolds; his grandchildren, Derick Reedy, Alisha Ingle, Tony Ingle, Josh Ingle, Kaitlin Ingle; his step-grandchildren, Melissa Salyer and Keith Burke and his step-great grandchildren, Dustin Salyer and Dale Fleenor.

Margie Mae Hash
Mrs. Margie Mae Hash, age 77, went to be with the Lord, Sunday, July 23, 2006 in Grace Health Care.
Mrs. Hash was born October 26, 1928 to the late John B. and Abbie H. Smith McAfee in Washington, D.C. Mrs. Hash was a retired bookkeeper for Giant Foods. Mrs. Hash attended the Gospel Tabernacle Church.
Mrs. Hash is preceded in death by her parents, two brothers,Donald F. McAfee and John H. McAfee.
Mrs. Hash is survived by her husband of fifty-eight years, E. Robert Hash, two daughters, Marsha Lavelle and husband, Patrick of Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, Sandra Knox and husband Richard of Merrit Island, Florida; one sister, Mary A. Hash and husband, James Orvel Hash of Meadowview. Three grandchildren, Leslie Hatfield of Statesville, North Carolina, Valerie Meyers of Merritt Island, Florida, and Kelly Lewis of Crofton, Maryland, one great-granddaughter, Alexandria Lewis of Crofton, Maryland. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

Raymond Woodrow Wilson
Mr. Raymond Woodrow Wilson, 81, passed away on July 25, 2006 at the Sunbridge-Hillside Rehabilitation Center/Nursing Home in Kingsport, TN. Mr. Wilson was a longtime resident of Bristol, Virginia where he was employed by Appalachian Oil of Abingdon, VA and Kingsport Oil for more than 40 years. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Navy having served in World War II.
Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Christine in 2001.At her passing, they had been married 57 years.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his six children, four daughters and two sons;Linda Childress and husband Leonard, Bristol, VA, Phyllis Price and husband Jim, Bristol, TN, Barbara Fields, Jefferson City, Missouri, Bonnie Frazier and husband Freddie “Tommy”, Bristol, VA, Raymond Lee Wilson and wife Amy, Bristol, VA,and Ricky Wayne Wilson of Bluff City, TN.
Mr. Wilson was a loving, proud “Papaw” to his nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren; Lisa Childress and Kristi Gose both of Bristol, VA, Amanda Fields, Pittsburgh, PA, Karen Lingerfelt, Newton, NC, Sara Fields, Alexandria, VA, Jarrod Wilson, Bristol, VA, Natalie Wilson, Blacksburg, VA, Kelsey Wilson and Cody Wilson both of Bluff City, TN.His great-grandchildren, Kinsey Gose and Hunter Gose both of Bristol, VA Gracie and Sydni Lingerfelt both ofNewton, NC and Destinee Childress of Bristol, VA. He is also survived by one brother and three sisters, two step-grandchildren, Melanie Hatcher and Justin Price and many friends.

Glennamae Miller Roark
Glennamae Miller Roark, age 62, died Tuesday, July 25, 2006 at her home.
Glennamae was born on December 28, 1943 in Alabama and was a daughter of the late Glenn Houston Miller and Olive Christine Swenson Miller. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Gary Leland Miller. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. Glennamae had worked at Harwood Manufacturing Company for 10 years. She had worked at Bristol Compressors for 14 years before her retirement.She was of the Methodist faith.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Leland Roark of Abingdon; her daughter, Tina Lorraine Roark and fiancéForrest Henry Keenboth of Abingdon and her grandchildren, Kayla Lorraine Roarkand Kristen Nicole Warner.

Ernest Lee Surber
Mr. Ernest Lee Surber, age 69, a life long Washington County, Virginia native, passed away Tuesday July 25, 2006 in Johnston Memorial Hospital after fighting a long battle with cancer.
Mr. Surber was preceded in death by his parents James Edward Surber and Dixie McCray Surber.
Mr. Surber was a long time member of Pleasant View United Methodist Church in Abingdon, Virginia. He retired from Pittston Coal Company after many years of service and later served his community as a deputy for the Washington County Sheriff’s Department.
Mr. Surber is survived by his loving wife of forty-eight years Kathryn Little Surber, one daughter, Angela Surber Osborne and husband, Henry C. Osborne, Jr. of Glade Spring, Virginia; one dear grandson, H. Andrew Osborne and wife Nicole Getman Osborne of Meadowview, one dear granddaughter, Katie Lee Osborne of Glade Spring; one precious great-granddaughter Emma Grace Osborne. Other survivors include one sister, Carolyn Surber Hudson of Abingdon; one brother Fredrick Surber and wife Ann of Damascus; one brother, Ronald Surber and wife Jeanette of McEwen, Tennessee; on sister-in-law, Eileen Dye and husband Charles of Kingsport, Tennessee, and one sister-in-law, Mildred Henderson of Abingdon. He also leaves behind several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 P.M. Friday, July 28, 2006 in Knollkreg Memorial Park with Rev. Jack Sprinkle officiating. Everyone wishing to attend is asked to assemble at the funeral home by 12:45 P.M. to go in procession to the cemetery. Eddie Mullins
Mr. Eddie Mullins age 54 passed away Friday, July 28, 2006 in the Wellmont Hospice House, Bristol, TN. Eddie had lived most of his life in Washington County, VA and had lived in Sullivan County, TN for the past fifteen years. He was employed by Harold’s Easy Livin Homes as sales manager.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Nellie Gobble Mullins and a brother, George Mullins.
Survivors include his wife, Sharon Owens Mullins, Bluff City, TN, his son, James Hurd, Jr., Bristol, VA, his daughter, Brandy Bouton, Bristol, TN, his brother Frank Mullins, Abingdon, VA, grandchildren, Brittany Dawn Hurd, Logan Justice Hurd, James Cory Austin Hurd, Jacob Ray Bouton.

Charlotte Browning Jones
Charlotte Browning Jones loving mother, mother-in-law and grandmother age 67 of Chilhowie, Virginia formerly of Meadowview, Virginia and Jonesville, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 30, 2006 at the Smyth County Community Hospital after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ben A. Jones, Sr.; oldest son, Ben A. Jones, Jr.; her parents, Erwin Cecil and Juanita Browning of Meadowview and younger brother, David Browning also of Meadowview.
Charlotte was a retired LPN having previously worked at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, Virginia and Bristol Nursing Home on Bristol, Virginia.
Charlotte is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, William Jeff and Freda Jones; grandchildren, Ben Earl Jeffrey Jones and Ashley Nichole Jones all of Chilhowie; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Beverly Browning of Bluefield; sister and brother-in-law, Bill and Nancy Rice of Johnson City, Tennessee

Donald Watson Kelly, Jr.
Mr. Donald Watson Kelly, Jr., age52, died Monday, July 31, 2006 at his home. Donnie was born on April 29, 1954 in Washington County and was a son of the late Donald Watson Kelly and Nellie Jean McCall Kelly.He was a U. S. Air Force Veteran and had worked for the Coca Cola Company of Bristol.
Survivors include his daughter, Deseray Dawn Kelly of Hayter’s Gap,VA; his two sons, Donnie Lee Kellyand his fiancé Tesa Carter of Bristol, VA and Darren Michael Kelly of Hayter’s Gap, VA; his sister, Brenda Compton and her husband Gary of Bristol, VA; his grandchildren, Miranda Kelly and Breanna Kelly and his niece and nephew, Renata Compton and TravisCompton.
