Stephanie Dillon, 54, a housewife and artist, died Friday evening, December 20, 2002 at the New England Medical Center in Boston, MA Mrs. Dillon had lived in Billerica with her family for the last fifteen years and was previously from Malden. Stephanie was raised and educated in Malden and graduated with the Malden High School Class of 1967. She attended Vesper-George School of Art in Boston from 1968-1969. She was an avid artist and loved to do pencil and charcoal drawing along with her fondness for painting. She worked for the How's Work Co. in Wakefield for 2 years, helping the elderly
She is survived by her husband Dennis J. Dillon of Billerica, her son David Jerome Dillon and her daughter Kelly Mae Dillon both of Billerica. She was preceded in death by her father Stavros Chopelas, her mother Esther (Van Orden) Chopelas, her brother Stephen Chopelas, her sister Cynthia Chopelas, and her brother Lester Burnell.
She was born September 26, 1948 in Lynn, MA the daughter of the late Stavros and Esther (Van Orden) Chopelas.

Beverly Jean Dix
Beverly Jean Dix, 68,of Malden, formerly a longtime resident of Quincy, died Saturday, September 11, 2004 at Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, after a brief illness.. Beverly was born in Malden and spent most of her time growing up there. From school, she moved to Quincy with her family and began working with the Crumb and Foster Ins Agency in Boston, . She worked as an underwriter for the company until her retirement in 1997 after over 41 years with the company. Even after her retirement, she continued with the company as a consultant. A few years ago, after nearly 50 years in Quincy, she moved back to Malden. Throughout her life, Beverly was an avid dedicated Red Sox fan.
She is survived by her sister, MiriamL. Nolan of Malden, her brother, Lester Dix, Jr. of NH, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lester L. and Veda A(. Lundberg) Dix, her sisters Dorothy Dix, Ruth Law, Mildred Sheehan, and Thelma E. Laurie, and her brothers, Frank Dix, George E. Dix, and Richard C. Dix

Lester Arthur Dix Sr.
Lester A. Dix Sr., 87, a retired paint tinter for Touraine Paint Co, of Everett, MA, died Wednesday, December 22, 2004 at the Dover Rehab & Living Center, Dover, New Hampshire. Lester was born in Somerville and educated in the Somerville schools. He joined the US Army an obtained the rank of Private First Class. He served with the 51st. Military Police Co. and saw action at Naples-Foggia, North Apenaineo, Rome-Arne and received the European African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
Lester and his wife Nina were married in the Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden in 1945 and resided in Malden for a while, later residing in Melrose for the next forty years. After his discharge he was employed as a paint tinter with the Touraine Paint Co. in Everett for forty-two years and retired in 1982.He was a longtime member of the Maplewood Baptist Church in Malden and was an active team player with the softball team for many years.
He is survived by his son Lester A. Dix Jr. of Evansville, IN, Richard E. Dix of Waltham, Robert A. Dix of Barrington, NH, David A. Dix of Wakefield and Nancy E. Peiffer of Bellville, IL and fourteen grandchildren and two great- grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nina, his father Lester Dix, and his mother Vida Lundberg. He was predeceased by ten siblings.
He was born October 12, 1917 in Somerville, MA the son of the late Lester and Vida (Lundberg) Dix. He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Private First Class and enlisted on March 15, 1942 in Malden and was discharged on October 20, 1945 at Ft. Monmouth, NJ

Frances Catherine Dixon
Frances Catherine Dixon, 65, died Tuesday, November 2, 2004 suddenly at her home in Melrose, MA. Fran was born and educated in Everett graduating from Everett High School. She was employed as an administrative assistant at M.I.T. for over twenty five years. She was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Melrose and had been a resident of Melrose for over twenty years having lived in Malden briefly after leaving Everett.
Beloved sister of, Rose M. and husband Milton Burke of Andover, Frank W. and wife Carol Imbornone of Weymouth. Cherished sister in law of, Theresa Imbornone of Medford, Esther Imbornone of Stoneham and Jean Imbornone of Medford. Close friend of Anthony Di Prizio of Stoneham and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister Catherine Imbornone, her brother John Imbornone, her brother Domenic Imbornone, and her brother Joseph Imbornone.
She was born December 7, 1938 in Everett, Massachusetts the daughter of the late Frank and Vincenza (Imbornone) Imbornone.

Edward Daniel Doherty
Edward Daniel Doherty, 87, an administrator for Boston College, died Sunday, April 22, 2001 in Temple City, CA. Edward was born and educated in Boston and after graduating from St. Peter's High School he went to work for the C. C. C. before joining the Army in 1936. He served in the European Theatre during WW II and was discharged in 1945. Upon his discharge he settled in Malden and went to work for Boston College where he was employed as the manager of the Chemistry Department for over forty years until his retirement in 1982. He was a communicant at Sacred Heart Church of Malden, Life Member and Past Commander of Malden V. F. W. Post 639 and Malden Chapter 85 DAV. He was a resident of Malden for over fifty years until moving to California in 1984. Mr. Doherty lived in Temple City, California for 7 years and was previously from Malden, MA. .
He is survived by his daughter, Ruth Hamilton of NH, a brother, John J. Doherty of CA and a sister Anna Blowers of FL He is also survived by two grandchildren and one great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Morfydd (Griffiths) Doherty, formerly of Malden.
He was born June 12, 1913 in Boston, Massachusetts the son of the late Daniel and Ethel (Coolan) Doherty.
He served in the Army during World War II having attained the rank of Warrant Officer. enlisted on May 14, 1936 at Boston, MA discharged on December 5, 1945 in Virginia

John T. Doherty
John T. Doherty, 83, died Friday, May 2, 2003 at the Winchester Hospital in Winchester, MA. John was born in Winchester and educated in Malden Schools. When he completed school he moved to California and was employed as a machine operator for Marman Products Co. , which made machined parts for aircrafts. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in October of 1942 to serve in W.W. II. He was a parachute rigger First Class with the Fleet Air Wing, 8th Headquarters Squadron seeing service in Guam, Marianna's, the Marshall Islands and other area of the Asiatic Pacific Theatres. When he was discharged he married and settled in Malden where he has resided for the past forty -even years. He worked as a salesman selling home Improvements, Home Fire Alarm Systems and swimming pools. He then went to for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. selling life insurance and was employed there for over eighteen years, retiring in 1997. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Malden and a devoted father to his seven children.
He is survived by his wife Elsie (Velez) Doherty of Malden, his son, Charles Doherty of Malden, his daughter, Maureen Butrimowicz of W. Roxbury, his son, John Doherty, Jr. of West Newbury, his daughter, Jean Dinon of Townsend, his son, Brian Doherty of Billerica, his son, Jeffrey Doherty of Malden, his daughter, Brenda Lombardozzi of NH, his sister, Eleanor Walker of PA and eight grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Charles Doherty.
He was born March 17, 1920 in Winchester, MA. the son of the late John and Loretta (Ryan) Doherty. He served in the Navy during World War II having attained the rank of Parachute Rigger 1st Clas. enlisted on October 23, 1942 at Los Angeles, CA discharged on January 12, 1946 at Boston, MA.

Joseph James Michael Donahue
Joseph James Michael Donahue, 64, of Malden, died quietly at home in the loving presence of his family on Monday, August 23. Joe was born in Somerville, and at an early age he moved to Cambridge where he was was raised and educated. He graduated from Cambridge Rindge and Latin with the class of 1958. After high school, he took employment with the Lamb and Ritchie Corporation in Saugus.In 1960, he married his sweetheart, Margaret S. Gilmore, and the two would share the next 42 years together raising their 3 children.After 20 years with Lamb and Richie, he took employment with the City of Malden in the Plumbing Dept. He oversaw the maintence of the HVAC systems for the Malden High School, as well as handling the upkeep of the pool. In 2002, he retired from the city to spend more time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Margaret S. (Gilmove) Donahue of Malden, his sons, Joseph J. Jr, and wife Dawn E. Donahue of Derry, NH, Steven and wife Terri A. Donahue of Malden, and Christopher Donahue of Malden, his mother in law, Susan R. Brown of Malden, his aunt Emily Valereo of Malden, his sisters, Rita D'Amaral and Diane Hayes both of Malden, his brother William Banda of Malden, and his grandchildren, Gina M. Donahue, Kristy S. Donahue, and Joseph J. Donahue III, & Danaille T. Donahue.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Olive (Valereo-Banda) Donahue.

Dorothy D. Foote
Dorothy D. ( Murphy) Foote, 87, died suddenly Friday evening, April 9, 2004 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Mrs. Foote was a member of the First Baptist Church in Malden for fifty-one years and was a member of the American Baptist Women's Ministry, Group Q and the Clarke Fellowship. Mrs. Foote was born in Bass River, Nova Scotia, Canada and came to the United States in 1937 at the age of 21. She settled in the Dorchester section of Boston and worked for the Farrington Manufacturing Co. in Jamaica Plain for five years as a payroll supervisor. She later married her husband Irwin D. Foote in 1942 and they shared fifty-seven years together. They moved to Malden in 1946 and later moved to Stoneham in 1970. Irwin passed away on February 19, 1999.
She is survived by her son Stanley D. Foote of Cambridge, her sisters Edith LeMoine of NC and Willena Wilkie of Canada and her brother Stanley Murphy of Canada. Her grandchildren Theresa Foote & Jeffery Foote both of Cambridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband Irwin D. Foote.
She was born November 27, 1916 in Bass River, Nova Scotia Canada the daughter of the late William F Murphy & Annie E. Clarke.

Claire Doucette (Curtin)
Claire Doucette (Curtin), 63, longtime resident of Malden, died Thursday,
November 03, 2005 at Lawrence Memorial Hospital in Medford. Claire was born in Winchester in 1942. She grew up in Melrose, attending the schools there
and graduating from Melrose High with the Class of 1960. She soon married her sweetheart, Charles W. Doucette Jr., and the two settled in Malden to raise their
family. Claire and Charlie shared nearly 45 years together until Charlie's
passing earlier this year.
Claire was a skilled artist who excelled in photography and painting.
She was a longtime active member of the Malden Guild of Artists, and the Everett Camera Club.
She was also an avid gardener, and enjoyed the company of her cat, but her greatest joy was spending time with her family, especially enjoying her grandchildren.
She is survived by her mother, Alvera F. (Haley) Curtin, of Malden, her daughter, Janine Doucette of Groton, her son, Michael Doucette of NH, her sister,
Judith Curtin of Malden, and her granddaughters, Marissa & Michelle Doucette of NH.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles W. Doucette Jr. , and her father
James M. Curtin.

Leona Doucette, 64, died Sunday, November 16, 2003 at Epoch Senior Health Care Center in Melrose, MA after a long illness. Mrs. Doucette lived in Malden for the last thirty years and was previously from Chelsea. Leona was educated in the Williams Elementary School and was an graduate of Chelsea High School Class of 1957. On June 29, 1966 Leona married, Richard L. Doucette in Boston and later settled in Malden.Mrs. Doucette was an active member at St. Joseph's Church for over thirty years and was a member of St. Joseph's Guild. She was a long time active member with the Boys Scouts of America in Malden and served as a committee member for many years.
She is survived by her husband Richard L. Doucette of Malden, her sons, Richard L. Doucette Jr. of Malden, Kevin Doucette of Beverly and Jeffrey L. Doucette of Bradford, her sister NancyL. Graziose of Malden. She was the niece of the Rev. C. Elsie Dame of Augusta, ME , Dorothy Banks of Peabody and Helen O'Mera of Malden. She was the cherished grandmother of Kristin N., Tyler E., and Amber K. Doucette.

Palma J. “Pam” (Tucci) Doucette, 71, ,died suddenly, Thursday, January 6, 2005 at the Lawrence General Hospital in Lawrence, MA. Pam was born and educated in Boston and when she completed school she married and settled in Malden over forty five years ago. She was employed as a dresser in the Boston Theaters for over thirty years. She was a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden and the Boston Theatrical Union. Mrs. Doucette lived in Largo, Florida for the past two months and had lived in Malden for over forty-five years.

Charles Walter Doucette, Jr.
Charles Walter Doucette, Jr., 65, died suddenly, Sunday, February 6, 2005 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. Charles was born and educated in Malden graduating Malden High School with the “Class of 1957". He then continued his education at Don Bosco Technical School to become a radio and television repair technician. When he completed his training he enlisted in the U.S. Army. He served in Germany during the Vietnam War as a Nike Radar Technician. He returned to Malden after his discharge with his wife Claire and went to work for the Hewlett Packard Co. of Andover. He was employed there for over thirty eight years and when he retired in 2000 he was the manager of their Agilent Technology Division. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Parish in Malden and the American Legion Post 69 of Malden. Mr. Doucette was a life long resident of Malden, MA.
He is survived by his wife Claire (Curtin)of Malden, his father Charles W. Doucette, Sr. of Malden, his daughter, Janine Doucette of Groton, his son, Michael Doucette of NH, his sister, Patricia Cook of FL and his granddaughters, Marissa & Michelle Doucette of NH.

Mary T. Doumani
Mary Theresa (Izzicupo) Doumani of Malden, died on Monday, January 16, 2006 at The Highlands Nursing Home in Fitchburg, MA, she was 88. Born on September 24, 1917 in Boston, she was the daughter of the late Biagio and Adeline (DelMonica) Izzicupo. After school, she married her sweetheart, George A. Doumani. The couple spent over fifty years in marriage together raising their son, George Jr., until George’s passing in September of 1998. In addition to being a dedicated mother and homemaker, Mary worked nights at the Schrafts Candy Co. in Charlestown. She worked as an assistant lead girl for over 20 years until her retirement. Mary was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Revere. Mrs. Doumani was a life-long resident of Malden.
She is survived by her son, George A. Doumani of Leominster, her siblings, Anna Lamattina of Malden and Florence Mirabella of Medford as well as 2 grandchildren, Daniel and David Duomani and 1 great-granddaughter, Daniella Doumani.
She was preceded in death by her siblings, Jean Cormier, Anthony Izzicupo, and Daniel Izzicupo.

Elsie Dow
Elsie Dow, 97, housewife, died Saturday, at the Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham. Elsie was born and raised in Germany. At the age of 14, she moved to NY. By 1920, she had moved to the Boston area and settled in Everett. In 1943, she married her husband Richard H. Dow, with whom she shared the next 38 years, until his passing in 1981. In 1957, they moved to Malden, where they had a house built for themselves. Elsie was a devoted grandmother, and tried to be very active in the upbringing of her grandchildren. She was also a skilled seamstress, and had a great love of animals. Mrs. Dow lived in Malden, Massachusetts for 43 years and was previously from Everett .
She is survived by her son, Andrew Velez, and his wife Althea of NC, and daughter Elsie Dohorty and her husband John, of Malden.
She was preceded in death by her husband Richard.

Corinne A. (Fitzpatrick) Dows, 36, a housewife in Everett, died on Friday morning, September 29, 2000 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA after a brief illness. Mrs. Dows had been living in Everett, MA for the last 18 years and was previously from Malden. Corinne was a graduate of Malden High School Class of 1982. After completing school, she attended Bryman's School in Boston. She married James C. Dows in 1991 and they lived in Everett. Corinne was a avid bingo player, loved to play pool and do crafts. She loved her children and her family.

John Daniel Doyle Sr.
John Daniel Doyle, 77, a Foreman for City of Malden, died Thursday, January 23rd at the Mayflower Nursing Home in Plymouth, Massachusetts. John was born and raised in Malden, graduating from Malden Catholic H.S. in 1943 Following his graduation, he enlisted in the US navy to fight in WWII. He fought in both the European-African Eastern Theatre, and the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre, while serving aboard the USS Los Angeles. He was also awarded for his marksmanship during his service. In 1946, he received an honorable discharge while having attained the rank of Seaman 1st Class.
He returned to Malden, and went to work for the city in the Parks and Recreation Dept. He retired as a foreman 33 years later. His favorite pastimes included caring for his grandchildren and woodcarving. Mr. Doyle lived in Carver, Massachusetts for the past couple of years and was living in Marshfield for 7 years after moving from Malden.
He is survived by his son John Doyle and his wife Lynn of Carver, his stepchildren Thomas Sprague of Lynn, Mary Ann Allen of Ashby, and Nancy Feener of CA, his sisters , Gertrude Duffy of Keene, NH, and Mona Cronin of Malden, his brother Edward "Sonny" and his wife Shirley Doyle of Stoneham, 9 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Stella D. (Sorli) Doyle, and his parents John and Anne (Mac Neil) Doyle.
Visitation will be held at Weir MacCuish Golden Rule Funeral Home, 144 Salem Street, Malden, on Monday, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Tuesday, Jan 28th, at 11 am. Rev. Daniel J. Hickey, Pastor of Sacred Hearts Parish will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in the Forest Dale Cemetery in Malden.
George Charles Dracopoulos
George Charles Dracopoulos, 79, died, suddenly, Monday, October 28, 2002. George was born and educated in Malden and was a member of the National Honor Society of Malden High School when he graduated with the Class of 1942. He had received a scholarship from the Massachusetts College of Arts but was drafted into the U.S. Army to serve in W.W.II. He served as an intercept operator with the 1st Radio Squadron in the Southern Philippines, Luzon and Ryukyus and attained the rank of S/Sgt. He returned to Malden after his discharge in 1946 and married his high school sweetheart Mary C. Donoghue. He established his own photography business working out of his home. He did a lot of work for the former Malden Free Press as well as local wedding and social functions. He then became a custodian for the Malden Public School system where he was assigned to the former Browne Junior High School where he worked for over twenty years until his retirement in 1984. When he retired he did volunteer work for special needs children, which he really enjoyed. He also belonged to The Club 24 Fellowship of Malden and was an avid lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox. He is survived by his wife of fifty-five years, Mary A. (Donoghue) Dracopoulos of Malden, His daughters; Ann Marie Dracopoulos of Lynn and Patricia Vendola of Centerville, his brothers; Chris Dracopoulos of Malden, James Drake of Medford, William Dracopoulos of Salisbury, his sister, Helen Pappas of Mexico, his granddaughters; Christine Frauton of Centerville and Annmarie Vendola of Centerville, his great granddaughter, Jordan Hue of Centerville and several nieces and nephews.
He was born February 15, 1923 in Malden, MA the son of the late Charles and Mary (Psycharis) Dracopoulos.

George Paul Duddy
George Paul Duddy, 68, died Friday, April 8, 2005 at the Melrose-Wakefield Hospital in Melrose, MA. George was born and educated in Somerville. He became a roofer for Roofer's Local # 33 after he completed school and had been employed by a number of area roofing companies for over thirty years until his retirement. He was also a skilled slater and was proud of the work that he did in reslating Fanuel Hall in Boston during its restoration. He was a member of Sacred Hearts Church in Malden and the Route One Racquet & Fitness Center. In the summer he enjoyed camping in Hampstead, NH, playing horseshoes and was an avid cribbage player. Mr. Duddy lived in Malden, MA or over forty years and was previously from Framingham and Ashland.
He is survived by his wife Cleora A. (Waisanen) Duddy of Malden,his son, David M. Duddy of Malden, his daughter, Shirley A. Duddy of FL, his brothers; William Duddy of Mashpee and Richard Duddy of NH, his sister, Dorothy Dionne of PA, Ruth Simberlund of FL and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, his brothers, Albert & Arthur Duddy, and his sister Elizabeth Alera.
He was born March 31, 1937 in Somerville, Massachusetts the son of the late William and Elizabeth (Melanson) Duddy.

Evangeline Russell Dunbar
Evangeline Russell (Child) Dunbar , 91, longtime resident of Malden, died Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at the Epoch Senior Care of Melrose. Eva was born and raised in Melrose. She was part of the very last graduating class at the old Melrose High School, with the class of 1933. After high school, she attended the Malden Business School.
She worked for Liggets Drug Store in Malden Square for over 25 years as a sales person, responsible for the sale of candy, cigarettes, and perfume. Eva worked there until the closing of the business. She then moved to Elmwood Pharmacy, where she remained until she retired at the age of 78.
She was a member of the Massachusetts Button Society, and a member of the Malden Stamp Club. Eva served as secretary for both clubs during her time as a member. She was also very fond of her animals, and an avid Baseball fan. Mrs. Dunbar lived in Malden, Massachusetts for 62 years in Malden and was previously from Melrose.
She is survived by her daughters Beverly A. Green of Malden, and Cheryl L. Fillmore-Dyer of Billerica, her son Russell C. Dunbar of Malden, her sister Shirley Crowley of FL, as well as 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Edwin C. Dunbar, of Malden, her parents, Charles G.B.and Evangeline M. (Russell) Child, her son, Douglas C. Dunbar, her brother Charles T. Child, and her sister Carol Millett.

Richard Wayne Dunham
Richard Wayne Dunham, 61, died suddenly, Wednesday, September 26, 2001 after being stricken with a heart attack while at work. Richard was born in Everett and educated in Malden schools. When he completed school he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving as a private for three years during the Vietnam era. He returned to Malden after his discharge and went to work in the construction industry where he was employed as a supervisor for the Eastern Construction Co. of Malden for over thirty years. He was a member of the Malden Eagles, East Side A.A., V.F.W. Post 639,D.A.V. Post 85, Italian American Club , the Irish American Club all of Malden and the Redman of Stoneham. Mr. Dunham lived in Malden, MA for most of his life and was previously from Everett.
He is survived by his Dear Friend, Barbara A. Long of Malden, his step-brother, Richard W. Melanson, of Billerica, his step-sister, Barbara M. Garrett of Malden and his godson, Daniel J. Gillis of Malden.
He was born February 11, 1940 in Everett, Massachusetts the son of the late Harry and Ruth (Bishop) Dunham. He served in the Army during Vietnam Era having attained the rank of Pfc.. enlisting on February 26, 1957 at Boston, MA discharged on February 3, 1960 at Ft. Dix, NJ

Marjorie Alice (Horton) Durdle, 82, a housewife, died Friday, January 10, 2003 at her home in Reading, MA Marjorie was born and educated in Malden. She was a graduated with the Malden High School Class of 1939 and was a life long resident of Malden until she moved to Reading with her daughter five years ago. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Malden and was active with church events. Marjorie was a member of Clarke Fellowship of the Church and the Women's Society.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy Perno of Melrose, Susan Durdle of Reading. Her grandchildren Lisa Perno of Melrose & Nicholas Perno of Melrose. Her brother Lester Horton of Reading and her son-in-law Paul Perno of Melrose,
She was preceded in death by her husband Ralph W. Durtle, her father William G. Horton, and her mother Edith T. Melman.

Harriet Elizabeth Durfee
Harriet Elizabeth Durfee, 86, a bookkeeper for Howard Ins. Co, where she worked for years, died Sunday, February 03, at the Danvers Nursing & Rehabilatation Center. Harriet was born and raised in Malden, graduating from Malden High School. She was a past member of the First Baptist Church in Malden.
Harriet enjoyed taking leisurely strolls, and was a "movie buff". She also knitted quite a bit. Mrs. Durfee lived in Wakefield, Massachusetts for 60 Years and was previously from Malden.
She is survived by her stepson, Charles C. Durfee, Jr. of Stoneham, MA, and her sister Priscilla Harding of Rowley, MA.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles C. Durfee Sr., her parents James and Frances (Sutermester) Pettingill, her sister, Margaret Gould, and her brother James Pettingill.
Funeral services will be held graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery in Medford, Tuesday, with Rev. Martha A. Dominy of the First Baptist Church, Malden, officiating.
John Austin Durfee
John Austin Durfee, 66, died Tuesday, September 30, 2003 at his home in Malden, MA after a valiant battle with cancer. John was born in Foxboro, and raised in Roxbury, attending the local schools there. He left high school early to enlist in the US Air Force, and served during the Korean Conflict.After returning from the war, he married his sweet heart Margaret T. Shinkwin. The two spent many years in Dorchester raising their family, before moving to Somerville, and then finally settling in Malden.
John was a member of the Teamsters Local #829, and worked as a truck driver and warehouse worker out of the Stop & Shop distribution center in Readville. He then became a traffic supervisor for the city of Malden, and worked there for three years until a disability forced his retirement. John was a member of the VFW Post #19 in Somerville. He also enjoyed fishing and playing softball. Mr. Durfee had lived in Malden for twelve years and was previously from Somerville and Boston.
He is survived by his wife Margaret T. (Shinkwin) Durfee of Malden, his son's Patrick M. and his wife Amabel C. Durfee of Everett, Daniel A. and his wife Tracy A. Durfee of Ayer, Frederick J. Durfee and his fianc'ee Melissa D. of Somerville, his daughter Marie H. Durfee and her fiancé William A. of Malden, his sister's Sandra Durfee of Quincy, Elizabeth Coburn of Hingham, Hazel Frazier of FL, and his brother's Frederick Durfee of ME, William Durfee of Braintree. He was the cherished Papa of Ashley, Joffre, Hanna, Jonn, and Kylie. John was also survived by many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Marie (Hume) Durfee, his brother's George Jr., Alfred, Bernard and Charles Durfee and his sister Virginia Pesennetti.
He served in the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict, having attained the rank of A/3c. He enlisted on April 25, 1955 at Boston, MA and was discharged on September 23, 1957 at the Shaw AFB, SC.

Dutra, 75, a housewife, died Saturday, November 4, 2000 at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA.Mrs. Dutra had lived in Amesbury, MA for 2 years at the Harborside Manor Nursing Home and was previously from Haverhill & Newburyport, MA. Lorraine was devoted to her family and loved doing ceramics and crocheting. She also enjoyed listening to Irish music.
