Traffic Fatalities Showing Increase According to a tabulation in the Cape Girardeau Southeast Missourian last Saturday, traffic fatalities in this district shows a slight increase over the corresponding period last year.
Up to Saturday, there had been 28 persons killed in automobile accidents on Southeast Missouri highways, rural and farm-to-market roads as compared to 26 for the corresponding period in 1937.
This number does not include Southeast Missouri people killed in other territories such as the accident last Saturday near Higginsville in which two people from Chaffee and one from St. Joseph met death.

Jan 19 — Neal Milliner Highway 61 near Morley.
Jan 22 - Five persons. Mrs. Lon French, Mrs. Essie Stephens, Esther Wallace, Lindell Hickerson and Lon French, on Highway 81, east of Kennett.
Feb 2 — Herman Hacke, car ran into river in Cape Girardeau.
Feb 9 — Wm. A. Elliott, near Caruthersville.
Feb 16 - Charles Brown, near Kennett.
Feb 25 — Mrs. Mabel Stone, Highway 60 near Essex.
Feb 26 - Mrs. Josie Dunn, Highway 55 near Oran.
March 9 — Wm. H. Metzger, Highway 61 near Portageville.
March 14 — I. N. Michael, Highway 61, north of Cape, bus-auto collision.
March 18 — Mrs. Claude Elders, grade crossing at Malden.
