James Rose
James E. Rose, 67, Defiance, died at 2:52 a.m. Sunday in his home.
He was born Aug. 30, 1933, in Forest Hills, Ky., the son of Arnold and Lucy (Blackburn) Rose. In 1965, he married Leetta Taylor, who survives. He was a technician at GM Powertrain for more than 33 years, retiring in 1993. He was a member of Victory Temple Church and a U.S. Army veteran, serving from 1955-57.
Also surviving are a stepdaughter, Mrs. John (Linda) Pugh, Florida; a brother, Gary, Hardy, Ky.; two sisters, Mrs. Bill (Diana) Huff of Inverness, Fla., and Mrs. Robert (Kathy) Allen, Defiance; and three stepgrandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, two brothers and a sister.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Mast-Mock-Hoffman Funeral Home with Rev. Rodger Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery, Paulding County, with military rites accorded by VFW Post 3360. Visitation is from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today.
Preferred memorials are to a charity of the family's choice.
Kenneth Wilson
Kenneth Wilson, 77, Defiance, died at 1:18 p.m. Saturday in Defiance Hospital.
He was born Jan. 2, 1924, in Henry County, the son of Russel and Florence (Hoffman) Wilson. In 1950, he married Ardith Harman, who survives. He was a mechanic with Zeller Corp., All Star Products, Air Mate and the city of Defiance. He was also a member of Zion Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 117 and a U.S. Army World War II veteran.
Also surviving are two sons, Rocky of Traverse City, Mich., and Lonny, Cecil; two brothers, Robert of Cincinnati and Glen, Bryan; a sister, Joyce Willis; and a granddaughter.
Preceding him in death was a son, Rusty.
Services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
Joseph Emch
ARCHBOLD - Joseph D. Emch, 21, Archbold, died Saturday morning in Columbus.
He was born July 16, 1979, in Wauseon, the son of Dr. John and Beverly (Krill) Emch. He was a 1998 graduate of Archbold High School, where he participated in Buckeye Boys State, the Presidential Classroom and was a National Merit Scholar. He was a junior at Ohio State University, an honors student, an Honors Ambassador of OSU and a teaching assistant in the chemistry department. He was a member of Archbold United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his parents, Archbold; a sister, Kate, Columbus; a brother, Andrew, at home; and grandparents, Cleon and Dema Krill of Edgerton and Harold and Kathryn Emch, Goshen, Ind.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Kent Jaquette officiating. Visitation is from 6-9 p.m. today and from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in the church. Handling arrangements is Grisier Funeral Home, Archbold.
Preferred memorials are to the Joseph D. Emch Scholarship Fund at Archbold High School.
Ada Nafziger
ARCHBOLD - Ada M. Nafziger, 87, Archbold, died Saturday evening in Fairlawn Haven, Archbold.
She was born Oct. 6, 1913, in Pettisville, the daughter of Samuel and Ida (Nofziger) Crossgrove. In 1934, she married Orval Nafziger, who died in 1998. She was a charter member of Zion Mennonite Church, Archbold.
Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Waldo (Barb) Aeschliman, Mrs. Merle (Charlene) Short and Mrs. Richard (Sara) Nafziger, all of Archbold; a sister, Mrs. Vernon (Marie) Frey, Archbold; and seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were an infant brother; and a sister, Mildred Zimmerman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the church with Pastors Ronald Guengerich and Tim Short officiating. Burial will precede services in Pettisville Cemetery. Visitation is from 3-9 p.m. today in Short Funeral Home, Archbold.
Leona Krieger
DELTA - Leona Mae Krieger, 73, Delta, died Saturday in her home after an extended illness.
She was born Jan. 30, 1927, in Frontier, Mich., the daughter of Carl and Mabel (Stover) Vincent. In 1947, she married Ralph Krieger Jr., who survives. Prior to her retirement in 1988, she was the head cashier at the former Family Foodland, Delta. She was also a member of Evangelical Mennonite Church, Wauseon.
Also surviving are two sons, Donald of Wauseon and Robert, Remus, Mich.; three daughters, Mrs. Randy (Sharlene) Geer of South Whitley, Ind., Mrs. Mike (Nita) Krueger of Liberty Center and Mrs. John (Nadine) Herring, Wauseon; a brother, Ronald Overmeyer, Delta; and 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. David Conn officiating. Burial will be in Dutch Ridge Cemetery, rural Delta. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Tuesday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon.
Preferred memorials are to the church building fund, American Cancer Society or Fulton County Hospice.
Clair Hughes
EDGERTON - Clair R. Hughes, 100, Edgerton, died Saturday in Park View Nursing Center, Edgerton.
He was born Dec. 12, 1900, in Williams County's Superior Township, the son of Firman and Mary (Redman) Hughes. In 1920, he married Margaret Reas, who preceded him in death. He farmed in rural Montpelier, was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Bryan, and a former member of Bryan Senior Citizens and Sodom Grange.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding him in death were a brother, Dow; and a sister, Theodosia Bloir.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday in Krill Funeral Home, Edgerton, with Rev. Thomas Oedy officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Edgerton. Visitation will be after noon Tuesday.
Preferred memorials are to St. Mary's Catholic School in Edgerton or a charity of the donor's choice.
Trylbia Osborne
PAYNE - Trylbia (Trib) Osborne, 78, Payne, died at 9:09 a.m. Sunday in Paulding County Hospital, Paulding.
She was born May 30, 1922, in Pyramid, Ky., the daughter of William and Mary Ann (Coburn) Hicks. She married Ezra Osborne, who died in 1987. She attended Payne Church of the Nazarene and retired in 1987 from Taylor Made Glass, Payne.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth, Benton, Ky.; a daughter, Challis Lee, Paulding; three brothers, Bertral Hicks of Payne, Delmer Hicks of Portsmouth and Garrett Hicks, Convoy; three sisters, Sylvia Raines of Grundy, Va., Katherine Onley of Cincinnati and Pearl Fulk, Antwerp; and six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the church with Rev. Michael Harper officiating. Burial will be in Lehman Cemetery, Payne. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Tuesday in Slade Funeral Home, Payne.

Kent Cole
WAUSEON - Kent E. Cole, 38, Wauseon, died Friday at his residence.
He was born June 5, 1962, in Wauseon, the son of Robert and Willo (Smith) Cole. In 1998, he married Tamara Frosch, whom survives. He worked at Perfect Sweep, Toledo.
Also surviving are his mother, Swanton; a daughter, Megan, at home; a son, Zachary, at home; five brothers, Robert of Swanton, Douglas of Delta, Fred of Bartow, Fla., Kevin of Wauseon and Scott, Oregon; and a sister, Mrs. Joseph (Cynthia) Tipping, Swanton.
Preceding him in death were his father; and a sister, Claudia Jean.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Edgar-Grisier Funeral Home, Wauseon, with Rev. David Rison officiating. Burial will be in Winameg Cemetery, rural Delta. Visitation is from 1-5 and 7-9 p.m. today.

William Miles Jr.
William C. Miles Jr., 53, Defiance, died recently at his home. Arrangements are pending at Lawson Roessner Funeral Home.
Martin Dysert
Memorial services for former Defiance resident Martin C. Dysert will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in First Presbyterian Church, Defiance. Dysert, a Lakeland, Fla. resident, died Nov. 25.
Clifton Craig
ANTWERP - Clifton H. Craig, 98, Antwerp, died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday in Community Memorial Hospital, Hicksville.
He was born Dec. 31, 1902, in Cadillac, Mich., the son of John and Carrie (Jeffers) Craig. In 1959, he married Helen Boesch, who survives. He was a carpenter, an engineer with Pennsylvania Railroad, retiring in 1962, and a member of Antwerp United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were two brothers, Pat and Victor; and a sister, Wynona Davenport.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp, with Rev. Thomas Ketzler officiating. Burial will be in Maumee Cemetery, Antwerp. Visitation is from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. today.

Paul Hoover
BRYAN - Paul D. Hoover, 68, Bryan, died at 8:45 a.m. Monday in Fairlawn Haven, Archbold.
He was born July 4, 1932, in Allen County's Scipio Township, Ind., the son of George and Garnet (Bogert) Hoover. In 1953, he married Betty Teegardin, who survives. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict, he worked at Aro Corp., Bryan, for 25 years, retiring in 1980. He then worked at LaChoy Co., Archbold, until 1992. He was also a member of Bryan First Church of Christ, American Legion Post 284 and a former member of Bryan Eagles Aerie 2233 and Moose Lodge 312, Montpelier.
Also surviving are two sons, Paul of Montpelier and Rick, Bryan; two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Rose) Echols of Deluth, Ga., and Kathy Blair, West Unity; two brothers, Wayne of Pleasant Lake, Ind., and Donald, Spencerville, Ind.; a sister, Mrs. Richard (Lois) Murphy, Auburn, Ind.; and 10 grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a great-stepgrandchild.
Preceding him in death were his parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Brown Funeral Home, Hicksville, with Rev. Larry Snavely officiating. Burial will be in Scipio Cemetery, Allen County. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday and from 1-8 p.m. Thursday.

Carl Niese
LEIPSIC - Carl F. Niese, 72, Leipsic, died at 1:46 a.m. Monday in St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima.
He was born Aug. 27, 1928, in Leipsic, the son of Edward and Frances (Schroeder) Niese. In 1951, he married Marieta Reindl, who survives. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Leipsic and its Holy Name Society. He served on the board of directors for Tomato Growers' Association and was a member of Ohio Fruit and Vegetable Growers' Association, Farmers' Union, Sugar Beet Growers' Association, Ohio Farm Bureau and Fremont Pickle and Tomato Growers' Association. He was also a member of Leipsic Eagles aerie and a social member of Leipsic VFW Post and Ottawa Knights of Columbus.
Also surviving are three sons, Kenneth of Findlay, Gerald of McComb and Dennis, Leipsic; four daughters, Mrs. Mark (Ruth) Kaufman and Sharon, both of Ottawa, Mrs. Tom (Doris) Warnimont of Miller City and Mrs. Mark (Lois) Snyder, Leipsic; four brothers, Vic, Bill and Eugene, all of Leipsic, and Frank, Ottawa; three sisters, Marilyn Roebke and Mrs. Karl (Pat) Fuerst, both of Columbus Grove, and Mrs. Don (Martha) Turnwald, Kalida; and 22 grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in the church with Revs. John Joseph and Larry Niese officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation is from 7-9 p.m. today and from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday in Love Funeral Home, Leipsic, with a scripture service at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday and a K of C parish rosary at 8:30 p.m. Wednesday.

Arva Baker
NEY - Arva J. Baker, 70, Ney, died Saturday morning in St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center, Toledo.
She was born Feb. 27, 1930, in West Unity, the daughter of Elgie and Jennie (Bower) Meyer. In 1953, she married Clair Baker, who survives. She was a member of Victory Barn Church, Edgerton.
Also surviving are a son, Eric, Ney; two brothers, Merle Meyer of Smithville, Tenn., and Paul Meyer, Jacksonville, Fla.; and two sisters, Donna Walden of Bryan and Wanda Underhill, Cypress, Texas.
Preceding her in death were her parents; and a daughter, Jane.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Ney Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services Wednesday at Oberlin-Ford Funeral Home, Bryan.
Sandra Taylor
PAYNE - Sandra Taylor, 62, Payne, died at 3:44 p.m. Sunday in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne.
She was born March 23, 1938, in New Haven, Ind., the daughter of Ernest and Edyth (Calvin) Dibert. In 1969, she married Clyde Taylor, who died in 1998. She was a homemaker and a member of Paulding VFW Post 587 Auxiliary and New Haven Eagles aerie.
Surviving are a daughter, Stacy Boyd, Latty; a son, Stuart, Latty; two brothers, Mark Dibert of Tekonsha, Mich., and Richard Dibert, Union City, Mich.; a sister, Wanda Yoder, Gaithersburg, Md.; and eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were her parents.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Antwerp United Methodist Church with Rev. Thomas Ketzler officiating. There will be no visitation. Handling arrangements is Dooley Funeral Home, Antwerp.

Edna Boyer
WEST UNITY - Edna M. Boyer, 92, West Unity, died Sunday in Hillside Country Living, Bryan.
She was born Sept. 28, 1908, in West Unity, the daughter of Harry and Laura (Mercer) Orewiler. In 1930, she married Kenneth Boyer, who died in 1997. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and United Presbyterian Women, a charter member of West Unity American Legion Auxiliary Post 669 and a former member of Eastern Star Chapter 158.
Surviving are a son, Kenneth, West Unity; a daughter, Mrs. John (Myra) Lassen, Fort Wayne; and five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Also preceding her in death were a son, Robert; a brother, Charles Orewiler; and three sisters, Inez Spicer, Irene McKarns and Helen Shilling.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday in the church with Kara Lassen Oliver officiating. Burial will be in Floral Grove Cemetery, West Unity. Visitation is from 2-9 p.m. Wednesday at Hollingshead Funeral Home, West Unity.
