DONALD C. ISAMAN
HORNELL - Donald C. Isaman, 82, longtime Hornell businessman, died Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Bath.
Born in Arkport, April 17, 1918, a son of Eugene and Elma Sick Isaman, Don had resided most of his life in the Hornell area. He was a graduate of the Arkport Central School, Class of 1934. From 1935 to 1938 he worked for Electrolux Corp., from 1939 to 1941 he worked for Gunlocke and from 1941 to 1943 for the former Hornell Wood Working. He served from 1944 to 1946 in the U.S. Army during WWII, stationed in the Philippines, as a part of the 37th Division of the 6th Army. From 1946 to 1948 he worked for the former Karlnoski Motors and from 1949 to 1951 for the Howard Garman Motor Sales.
In 1951, he established the Isaman Pontiac-Cadillac Sales in Hornell which he operated until 1963, when he established Isaman Chrysler-Plymouth Sales in Hornell which he operated until his retirement in 1977. During his retirement years he spent a great deal of time in Bradenton, Fla., and his residence in Fremont.
Don attended the Glad Tidings Assembly of God in North Hornell, was a member of the Hornell Elks Lodge, the Hornell Moose Lodge, and the Arkport American Legion. In 1987, he authored the book "No Way But Up." He was an avid hunter and golfer.
On Dec. 7, 1947, he married the former Mary Johnson who predeceased him in 1991. He was also predeceased by his daughter, Janet MacLeod in 1995, his sister, Thelma Wessels, and two brothers, Norman and Claude Isaman.
Surviving are two sons, Kenneth (Sheryl) Isaman of Arkport and Keith (Linda) Isaman of North Hornell; a brother, Arnold Isaman of California; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home with Rev. Bruce Dravneek officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Fremont.

ARTHUR C. HARWOOD SR.
HORNELL - Arthur C. Harwood Sr., formerly of North Main Street Ext., died Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) in Jacksonville, Fla.
Born in Hornell, Nov. 25, 1926, a son of Guy and Daisy Bennett Harwood, he had resided his entire life in Hornell. He had been a self-employed auto mechanic, and had operated Art Harwood's Alignment Service on North Main Street Ext. He was a member of the Hornell Lodge of Elks.
He was predeceased by his wife, Gertrude Harwood, in 1994.
Surviving are two daughters; Cynthia (Frank) Rhoades of Jacksonville, Fla. and Bonnie Harold of Rochester; one son, Arthur (Sonya) Harwood Jr. of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Thomas (Betty) Harwood of Hornell; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
The family will be present from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday. Rev. Alan Howe will officiate. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.

NELSON WARD HALL JR.
CANISTEO - Nelson "Ward" Hall Jr., 64, of 11 Fifth Street entered into rest Tuesday (Oct. 3, 2000) at his home following a courageous bout with cancer.
He was born in Syracuse on Jan. 2, 1936, the son of Nelson Ward Hall Sr. and Clara M. Wilson. On Jan. 3, 1954 in Baldwinsville he married Jean Ann Parks who survives.
Ward had lived the early part of his life in the Baldwinsville area. He was a graduate of the Baldwinsville Central School, had served with the National Guard and as a Reserve of the Army of the United States and had worked in the Maintenance Dept. as a Pipe Fitter for the Crouse-Hinds Co. in Syracuse.
Ward's call to the Ministry brought him and his family to the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church in the Town of Howard in 1966. He attended Houghton College and received his ordination in 1970. He served the Buena Vista Church from 1966 to 1979; was District Supt. of the Wesleyan Church of Central New York from 1979 to 1986 returning to Buena Vista from 1986 to 1997.
Ward's family includes his wife, Jean Ann Hall of Canisteo; his son, Nelson H. Hall of Carlisle, Pa.; his four daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Lou and Michael Lamos of Bethlehem, Pa., Christine and Steven Conklin of Howard, Cheryl and Douglas Stabley of Painted Post and Carol and Joey Farrand of Franklinville; his daughter-in-law Renee E. Hall of New Cumberland, Pa. and 13 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the H. P. Smith & Son, Inc. Funeral Home in Canisteo. A funeral service will be held in the Buena Vista Wesleyan Church on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. Daniel Pickering officiating and burial will be in the family lot in the Caughdenoy Cemetery, Caughdenoy, Oswego County, N.Y.

REV. ALBERT N. ROGERS
ALFRED STATION - A memorial carillon concert for Rev. Albert N. Rogers, a well known area pastor, will be held at 4:30 p.m. Friday (Oct. 6, 2000), at The Davis Memorial Carillon at Alfred University, with Joanne Droppers performing. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m. in the Alfred Seventh Day Baptist Church, with the Revs. David Clarke, Laurie DeMott and Leon Wheeler officiating. Final interment will be in Alfred Rural Cemetery.
Arrangement have been made by Robertson Funeral Home, Inc. in Hornell.

JOHN L. BARROS
CANASERAGA - John L. Barros, 47, died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000).
He was born April 11, 1953, the son of Anthony and Thelma Owens-Barros.
John worked for the railroad as an equipment operator, was a member of the AMVETS Club in Cuba and belonged to the American Legion Post in Albany.
Survivors include his parents, Anthony and Thelma Barros of Canaseraga; three brothers, Lani (Donna) Barros of Arkport, James (Darlene) Barros of Prattsburgh and Lee (Judy) Barros of Canaseraga; two sisters, Doris Barros of Hornell and Toni (Gary) Hamlin of Canaseraga; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Mann Funeral Home in Canaseraga, where funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday with Rev. Jeff Hunt officiating. Interment will be in Canaseraga Cemetery in Canaseraga.

CHARLENE S. HARRIS
AVOCA - Charlene S. Harris, 67, died Tuesday evening (Oct. 3, 2000) at her home on the Wheeler Road.
Calling hours are from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Avoca Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held Friday at a time to be announced.
Those wishing may contribute in Charlene's memory to either Southern Tier Hospice, Inc. or to the ALS Assoc. Envelopes for memorial contributions will be available at the Avoca Methodist Church for the calling hours and funeral service.

HARRIETT L. NAUMILKET
HORNELL - Harriett L. Naumilket, 75, formerly of Arkport, died Monday (Oct. 2, 2000) at Hornell Gardens, where she had resided for the past four and a half months.
She was born July 31, 1925 in Hornell, the daughter of Orlo D. and M. Hazel Hammond Jones. She was married April 13, 1946 in Arkport to Robert M. Naumilket, who died in 1997. She was predeceased by two brothers, Harold M. and Howard P. Jones.
Harriett was a graduate of Hornell High School and had resided for most of her life in Arkport. She was a librarian for the Arkport Elementary School for many years, retiring in 1984.
She was a faithful member of the Arkport United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping and traveling with her late husband.
Survivors include two sons, Martin (Brenda) Naumilket of Valley City, Ohio and Robert (Candy) Naumilket of Bath; two sisters, Hildreth (James) Hammond of Corry, Pa. and Zada Perry of Bath; two brothers, Homer (Alice) Jones of Dansville and Hugh (Betty) Jones Sr. of Avoca; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday with Rev. Kristen Allen officiating.

DONALD A. FEE
SPRINGWATER - Donald A. Fee, 71, of 7784 Wetmore Road, Wayland died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at the Bath Medical Center.
Donald was born Feb. 28, 1929 in Rochester, the son of Albert and Dorotha Conley Fee and resided all of his life in Rochester prior to moving to the Wayland - Springwater area in 1985.
Donald was a Horse Trainer and Exerciser, was self employed in the flooring business for a number of years and at the time of his retirement in 1985 he was employed at the Breza Iron Works.
A Korean army veteran, he served in the U.S. Army.
He was predeceased by his wife, Irene Carney Fee in 1983.
He is survived by three sons; Donald R. (Cynthia) Fee of Wayland, Daniel V. (Mary Ellen) Fee of Webster and David A. (Gayle) Fee of Louisville, Ky.; three daughters, Diane (Steve) Sigl of Rochester, Dorothea Fee of Brighton and Darlene (Mike) Korytkowski of Rochester; his mother, Dorotha Fee of Bergen; two brothers, Bernard (Delores) Fee of Dania, Fla. and Robert (Florence) Fee of St. Regis, Mo.; one sister, Beverly (Ron) McCraken of Bergen; seven grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Springwater Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Dennis Swart officiating. Interment will be in Hunt Hollow Cemetery.

LAMAR W. HAMMOND
HORNELL - LaMar W. Hammond, 90, formerly of Chaddock Ave., died early today (Oct. 4, 2000) at the Newark Wayne Community Hospital in Newark, NY.
Funeral arrangements entrusted to Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home of Hornell will be announced in Thursday's edition of The Evening Tribune.

KENNETH E. "SKIP" SCHRADER
SWAIN - Kenneth E. "Skip" Schrader, 49, of 2628 Ames-Nichols Road, died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000) as a result of an automobile accident in the Town of Burns.
Born Feb. 6, 1951 in North Hornell, the son of Kenneth R. and Virginia Hills Schrader Thomas. He was married Sept. 25, 1971 in Belmont to Laura J. Watson, who survives. He was predeceased by his father, Kenneth R. Schrader in 1989.
Skip was a graduate of Hornell High School and received his associates degree in Auto Mechanics from Alfred State College. He had been employed by F & F Chevy and Olds in Wayland, Fisk Auto Sales in Arkport and Canisteo Auto Mart for the past eight years.
He was an ASE certified master technician for 25 years and had operated Schrader ENT., auto sales and service in Swain for the past eight years.
He had served with Troup B, of the 117th Cavalry, N.Y.S. National Guard and was a member of Fawcett Post, American Legion of Canaseraga.
Skip was known for his interest in anything automotive, including street rods and off road vehicles.
Survivors besides his wife include, his mother, Virginia Schrader Thomas of Wildwood, Fla.; a daughter, Amy L. (Jeremiah) Krupp of Canaseraga; a son, Daniel K. Schrader at home; a sister, Terry (Dennis) Bardeen of Canisteo; two grandchildren, Justus and Jalyn Krupp; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Alan G. Howe officiating.

KENNETH E. "SKIP" SCHRADER
SWAIN - Kenneth E. Schrader, who died Sunday (Oct. 1, 2000), is also survived by a brother, Donald (Beth) Schrader of Swain. Arrangements are by the Robertson Funeral Home, Inc., Hornell.

VIRGINIA ANN MILLIGAN
ANDOVER - Virginia A. Milligan, 63, of 22 Rochambeau Ave. died Sunday (Oct.1, 2000) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was born March 31, 1937 in North Bingham, Pa., a daughter of Landis and Dora Talbett Kibbe.
On April 20, 1957 in Andover, she married Kenneth Milligan who predeceased her on Dec. 14th, 1994. She was a 1954 graduate of Andover High School and graduated from business school in Elmira. From 1955 to 1960 she was employed at Air-Preheater of Wellsville. For many years Virginia took care of many area children in her home. For over 15 years she had been employed as a postal clerk with the Andover Post Office. She was a member of the Andover First United Methodist Church and had been church organist there for many years. She was a former Andover School Board member.
Surviving are three sons, George (Donna) Milligan of Duncan, Okla., Guy (Brenda) Milligan of Wellsville, and Monte (Glenna) Milligan of Andover; six grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; two sisters, Rev. Thana Kibbe of La Fargeville, N.Y. and Eleanor (Joseph) Clarke of Holly Springs, N.C; one brother, Clarence (Shirley) Kibbe of Wellsville.
Friends will be received Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Mulholland-Swan Funeral Home, Inc. in Andover. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. at the Andover First United Methodist Church with its Pastor Ray Shaw, and Pastor Osceola Wharton of the Wayland First United Methodist Church officiating, burial will be a Hillside Cemetery in Andover. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Assoc., PO 96911, Washington, D.C. 20090-6911, or to the Andover First United Methodist Church or Andover Volunteer Rescue Squad.

DANNY P. WAIGHT
JASPER - Danny P. Waight, 48, of 1990 State Route 36 passed away Sunday (October 1, 2000) at home.
Born in Hornell, April 2, 1952, he was the son of Dale F. and Velma M. Springer Waight.
Danny was a 1970 graduate of Jasper Central School, a construction worker, he had been most recently employed at A.L. Blades and Sons of Hornell.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra M. Waight, three sons, Todd Waight of Dansville, Kevin Waight and Eric Waight of Troupsburg; two stepsons, Paul and Jason Sims of Troupsburg; his mother, Velma S. Waight of Jasper; his brother, Martin Waight of Jasper; four sisters, Sheila Kernan of Jasper, Carole Poyer of Fillmore, Lori Hamilton and Julie Waight of Jasper.
His is also survived by one uncle, two aunts, two great aunts and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. at the H.P. Smith & Son Inc. Funeral Home, 1607 Main Street, Woodhull where funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m.
Rev. Mark Wade will officiate. Burial will be in Jasper Cemetery.

MICHAEL JOHN WILLIAMSON
RUSHVILLE - Michael John Williamson, 17, of 7 Warren St., died Saturday (Sept. 30, 2000) as a result of an automobile accident.
There will be no prior calling hours.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Oct. 4, at 11 a.m. at the United Methodist church in Rushville. Rev. Ed Kennedy will officiate. Burial will be in Rushville Cemetery.
Michael was born Oct. 3, 1982 in Dansville. He was the youngest son of Brenda LaFalier Williamson and the late James H. Williamson, who died Aug. 20, 2000. He graduated from Marcus Whitman High School in the Class of 2000, and was attending Finger Lakes Community College in Canandaigua.
He is survived by his mother, Brenda L. Williamson of Rushville; one brother, Brian Williamson of Rushville; two sisters, Marvella Williamson of Canandaigua, Shauna (Bob) Brown of Honeoye Falls; niece and nephew, Kalyssa and Brandon Acoff, both of Canandaigua; his paternal-grandmother, Dorothy Williamson of Steubenville, Ohio; great-aunt Eleanor O'Leary of Steubenville, Ohio; his aunts and uncles, Kay and David Holsopple of Canisteo, Sue and Dale Brewer of Witchita, Kansas, Charles and Carol LaFalier of Oklahoma City, Okla., Terry and Pat Williamson of Tampa, Fla. and Tom and Lynn Williamson of Port Washington; and several cousins.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Box 1, Middlesex, NY 14507.

LAVERGNE T. GILBERT
DALTON - LaVergne T. Gilbert, 82, of Dalton, died September 28, 2000. He was born June 11, 1918 in Nunda to Rell and Bessie Thompson-Gilbert.
He was a gentleman farmer, and is a 25-Year Club member of Foster Wheeler in Dansville.
He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Patricia.
LaVergne is survived by his wife, Helen, of Dalton; three sons, Harry John (Janis) Gilbert of Lima, Arthur (Donna) Gilbert, and Walter (Lenora) Gilbert of Dalton; two daughters, Katherine (John) Cruiser of Canaseraga, and Carol (Raymond) Eldridge of Nunda; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a brother, Jasper (Charlotte) of Florida, a niece and a nephew.
Friends may call at the Mann Funeral Home in Nunda today from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Wilson Jones officiating. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Nunda.
Memorial donations in LaVergne's memory may be made to the Nunda Ambulance or Nunda Fire Company.

ALICE A. ELLIOTT HUNTZINGER
ORELAND, PA. - Alice A. Elliott Huntzinger, 91, of Oreland, Pa., died Monday (Sept. 25, 2000).
Born in Northeast Harbor, Maine, on Dec. 25, 1908, she was the wife of Allyn Charles Huntzinger, who predeceased her in 1972.
Alice was the epitome of the indomitable American spirit, determined in will and strong in her love and pride of family. Alice was one of the first female caddies in Maine where she caddied for the Rockefellers, Wharton-Sinklers and other Northeast Harbor summer residents in the 1920s. In her 60s, she returned to golf as a player. This great athlete won her golf club's championship in her 70s and had a hole-in-one at age 89. Alice moved to Oreland, Pa. in 1942 and was involved in the following organizations during her life in Oreland: President of the local school PTA; founding member of the Boy Scout Troop; an active member of the Oreland Women's Club; a Masters Level bridge player and a charter member of the Oreland Swim Club. Alice loved to read mysteries and especially enjoyed reading to her grandchildren and lately her great- grandchildren.
She was the mother of Allyn Frank Huntzinger of Shillington, Pa.; Carol Eve Huntzinger Woughter of Almond; Charles Elliott Huntzinger of Columbus, Ohio and Bertram Higgins, who preceded her in death. She was the grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother also of 12.
Contributions in lieu of flowers can be sent in her name to the Children's Library at The Free Library of Springfield Township, 1600 Paper Mill Road, Wyndmoor, Pa., 19038.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be at the Oreland Presbyterian Church at Church and Paper Mill Roads in Oreland on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 2 p.m.

JESSIE F. HEADLEY
HORNELL - Jessie F. Headley, 92, formerly of Pine Street, died Thursday (Sept. 28, 2000) at Arnot Ogden Hospital in Elmira.
Born in Jersey City, N.J., Jan. 17, 1908, a daughter of George and Gertrude Wendell Ward, she moved to Hornell about 1952.
She was predeceased by her husband, Edwin Headley in 1976, and her son Edwin in 1990.
Surviving are three sons, Ronald (Lili) Headley of Elmira, James (Kristen) Headley of Horseheads and Walter (Terri) Headley of Prescott, Ariz.; 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
The family will be present from 2 to 4 & 7 to 8 p.m. Saturday to receive friends at the Bender-Brown & Powers Funeral Home, 354 Canisteo St., Hornell where funeral services will follow calling hours at 8 p.m. with Rev. Alan Howe officiating. Burial will be in Rural Cemetery in Hornell.

CLARIBELL FRAZIER
JAMESTOWN - Claribell V. Frazier, 89, of Jamestown, formerly of Silver Creek, died Wednesday (Sept. 27, 2000) at the Heritage Park Health Care Center in Jamestown.
She was born June 7, 1911 in Troupsburg, the daughter of the late Frank and Maude (Brown) Healey.
A Silver Creek resident for 42 years, Mrs. Frazier had lived in Jamestown for the past four years.
A normal school graduate, she was a school teacher who last taught in the Troupsburg School District. Together with her husband, she owned the former Silver Creek Shoe Store for 12 years.
She belonged to the First United Church of Silver Creek and its Hannah Circle.
Mrs. Frazier enjoyed flowers, gardening, needlepoint and music.
Survivors include her husband, Franklin Frazier of Jamestown; three daughters, Mrs. James (Andrea "Linda") Clayton of Mississippi, Mrs. Dennis (Margaret) Walrod of Lakewood and Ms. Grace Brown of Jamestown; seven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a sister, Jessie Healey; one grandson, Steven Costa and two granddaughters, Andrea Kris Costa and Karin Walrod.
Arrangements are by the Hole-Parker Funeral Chapel Inc. in Silver Creek.

DANSVILLE - William "Bill" J. Applin, 83, of Hartman Road in Dansville passed away late Wednesday afternoon (Sept. 27, 2000) in the ER at Noyes Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Dansville on Dec. 5, 1916, the son of Irving William and Elizabeth Mary Foote Applin. On July 19 he and his dear wife Betty celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary.
Bill was a clerk at Foster Wheeler Energy Corp. in Dansville for 25 years retiring in 1981.
He was a communicant and past member of the Knights of Columbus at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church in Dansville. He was a member of the twenty-five year club and the IAM #1665 at Foster Wheeler.
Surviving in addition to his devoted wife Betty are a son, David (Alice) Applin of Dansville; a sister, Irma (Jacob) Bricks of Williamsport, Pa.; two granddaughters, Bonnie McKinney and Barbie Howe, and two great-grandsons, Matthew and Michael McKinney, all of Dansville and a nephew, Raymond Bricks of Williamsport, Pa.
A memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a date and time to be announced by the Hindle Funeral Home, 271 Main St., Dansville. Interment of his cremains will be in Holy Cross Cemetery in Dansville.
Contributions may be made to St. Mary's Church, 44 Elizabeth St., or the Dansville Ambulance Fund, PO Box 235, Both of Dansville, N.Y. 14437.
