PERKINSVILLE - Darrell J. Magee Sr., 66, of County Route 90, passed away at home early Friday afternoon (November 12, 2004).

ONNOLEE WATKINS TUTTLE
BATH - Onnolee Watkins Tuttle, 87, formerly of Gansvoort Street, passed away Wednesday (November 10, 2004) at the Steuben County Health Care Facility in Bath, surrounded by her loving family. She was born Sept. 8, 1917, in Bath, the daughter of George and Flossie Daines Watkins. Onnolee is survived by three daughters, Priscilla (Tom) Griffiths of Duanesburg, Sarah (Larry) Zeliff of Almond and Roberta (Glenn) Cordell of Pensacola, Fla.; one son, Robert E. Tuttle Jr. of East Lansing, Mich.; two brothers, Carlysle Watkins of Bradenton, Fla., and Charles Watkins of Lake Lure, N.C.; one sister, Shirley Carlson of East Lansing, Mich.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

WELLSVILLE - Donald C. Aiken, 77, of 2895 Truax Road, passed away on Friday (November 19, 2004) at Jones Memorial Hospital. He was born April 1, 1927, in Corsica, Pa., the son of Clark G. and Rachel (Songor) Aiken. On June 10, 1950, in Wellsville he married Jane Ludden, who survives.

FREMONT - Well known Hornell-area businessman A. Lee Blades Jr., 87, entered into rest unexpectedly Thursday (November 18, 2004) at his home at 1770 Evans Road.

WAYLAND - Marie L. Kiefer, 80, passed away peacefully Saturday (November 20, 2004) at McAuley Manor at Mercycare in North Hornell.

HUNT - Robert F. Perry, 70, died Saturday (November 19, 2004).

LEWIS E. STRICK
GRANTVILLE, Pa. - Lewis E. Strick, born Dec. 23, 1959, in Dansville and currently living in Grantville, died at the Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, Pa., on Friday (November 19, 2004) following a short illness. He was the son of Gary (Marjorie) Strick of Poags Hole, Dansville and Citra, Fla., and Elaine (William) Smith of Poags Hole, Dansville and Floral City, Fla.

VIRGINIA VALLENTIN
PRATTSBURG - Virginia M. Quinn Vallentin, 79, passed away late Thursday evening (November 18, 2004) at the Hospeace House of Naples. Virginia's complete obituary will be announced by the St. George-Stanton Funeral Home, 109 West Naples St., Wayland, in Monday's edition of The Evening Tribune.

LEICESTER - Elizabeth A. Watson, 66, of Main Street in Leicester, died Friday (November 19, 2004) at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. She was predeceased by her husband William Watson in November 1999.

REXVILLE - F. Geraldine Harkenrider, 75, of Loomis Road, Rexville, entered into rest on Friday (November 26, 2004) at Jones Memorial Hospital in Wellsville following a long illness.

PAULINE KAMENUK
CANISTEO - Pauline Kamenuk of Maple Street, Canisteo, entered into rest at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester Saturday afternoon (November 27, 2004). Arrangements are incomplete at the H.P. Smith and Son Funeral Home, Inc. in Canisteo. A complete obituary will appear in Monday's Evening Tribune.

EDWARD FRANCIS MEHMEL SR.
BELMONT - Edward Francis Mehmel Sr., 75, of 5897 Tuckers Corners Road, died suddenly on Thursday (November 25, 2004) at Buffalo General Hospital. He was born on May 13, 1929, in Bronx to William and Helen (White) Mehmel. A World War II veteran who served in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Jeffers 27 mine sweeper. He was married for 53 years to his beloved wife, Ruth Marie Mehmel, who predeceased him Jan. 23, 2003. Ed worked for Verizon/NYNEX/AT&T and retired as a manager with over 30 years of service.

PERKINSVILLE - Andrew P. Pike, 55, of 11272 Chapel St., Perkinsville, passed away Wednesday (November 24, 2004) at Rochester General Hospital.

TROUPSBURG - James "Jay" Dempsey, 84, of County Route 117, entered into rest Sunday (Nov. 28, 2004) at St. James Mercy Hospital, following a short illness.

CANANDAIGUA - Leonard Vaughn Austin, 61, of 4517 Summit Parkway, formerly of Troupsburg, passed away Monday (Nov. 1, 2004) at F.F. Thompson Hospital, Canandaigua.

SEBRING, Fla. - Gerald E. Henry, 61, of Sebring, Fla. and formerly of Dansville, passed away in Sebring on Saturday (Oct. 30, 2004) of natural causes.

HORNELL - George S. Lyke, 91, of 16 Cameron Ave., passed away early Tuesday morning (Nov. 2, 2004) at his home.

ALMOND - Lewis H. Wheeler, 79, of 96 Main St., died Tuesday (Nov. 2, 2004) in Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, where he had been a patient for the past three weeks.

HORNELL - Howard E. Derby, Sr., a resident of Edgeview Estates, passed away Tuesday (Nov. 2, 2004) at St. James Hospital.

SPARTA - Barbara I. Gaddy, age 67, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Nov. 3, 2004, at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

WAYLAND - Pauline Thielges, 81 years of age, formerly of Reservoir Road, and recently of 312 Washington St., passed away early Wednesday evening, Nov. 3, 2004.

DANSVILLE - May Mitchell, 94, formerly of Swartz Road, Dansville, passed away Saturday afternoon, (Nov. 6, 2004) at the Livingston County Skilled Nursing Facility in Mt. Morris, where she had been a resident for several years.

MT. MORRIS/ DANSVILLE - Samuel "Sam" H. Repass, age 39, passed away unexpectedly, early Saturday morning, Nov. 6, 2004, at home.

ROSE M. TOMPKINS-SCHUMAKER
WOODHULL - Rose M. Tompkins-Schumaker, 62, of 1362 Mead Road, passed away Monday, Nov. 8, 2004, at home, after a long illness.

OLAF C. GATES
SWAIN - Olaf C. Gates, 75, of Swain, passed away early Tuesday morning at home, surrounded by family and loved ones.

ROBERT G. JEFFERDS, SR.
BELMONT - Robert G. Jefferds, Sr., 50, of 8 1/2 Genesee Street, passed away at home on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004. He was born April 3, 1954 in Hornell, the son of Robert and Colleen (McAndrews) Jefferds. Bob was raised in Almond, and moved to Belmont in 1969. He graduated from Belmont High School in 1972, and for several years operated a dairy farm on Corbin Hill in Belmont.

DOUGLAS L. MARVIN
COOPERS PLAINS - Douglas L. Marvin passed away Monday, Nov. 1, 2004. He was predeceased by two brothers; Leon and Walter Marvin. He is survived by his daughter, Charlene; brothers, Otis (Anna) Marvin of Almond, and Roger (Brenda) Marvin of Alfred Station; a sister, Gayle (Peter) Niveus of Coopers Plains; and nieces and nephews.

BARBARA P. FRIEND
ARKPORT - Barbara P. Friend, 75, of Arkport, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004, at St. James Mercy Hospital in Hornell, after a short illness with cancer. She was born on April 22, 1929 in New Haven, Conn., the daughter of Arthur V. and Margaret M. Pagels. She graduated from Grace New Haven Community Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. On Feb. 24, 1951, she married Walter H. Friend of Hamden, Conn., who predeceased her on Oct. 17, 2000. She was an instructor at Alfred State College in the Allied Health curriculum, where she retired after 20 years.

ARKPORT - Richard L. Roosa, 89, of County Route 53, Oak Hill, died unexpectedly Tuesday (Nov. 9, 2004) at his home, where he had resided most of his life.

ATTICA - Mrs. Dorothy J. Hyland, 81, of Attica, died Wednesday (Nov. 10, 2004) in Millard Fillmore Gates Circle Hospital in Buffalo.

NANCY E. SANFORD
HORNELL - Nancy E. Sanford, 74, of 6242 N. Main Street, passed away Friday (Nov. 12, 2004) at McAuley Manor in North Hornell.

WARD H. SANFORD, JR.
NUNDA - Ward Sanford, Jr., age 81, died Saturday, Nov. 13, 2004, at Noyes Memorial Hospital. Born in Mt. Morris, the son of the late Ward and Laura Sanford, Sr., he was a lifelong area resident. Ward was employed by Cipriano Bros. Construction as a truck driver, until his retirement. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Nunda American Legion Post and VFW Post. He was also a 50+ year member of the Nunda Fire Department. He married the former JoAn Walker, and together they raised five children.
