Myers, Thelma J.
A resident of Westover Hills Park, Wellsburg passed away unexpectedly in Seneca Falls Saturday morning, May 10, 2003 at the age of 61 doing one of things she loved most, camping with her loving husband Daniel Myers.
Born in Elmira on May 1, 1942, Thelma always possessed a strong work ethic which followed her all through her life. She worked for Dimon & Bacorn for over 15 years. A true love of cooking and customer service, Thelma was employed as a waitress in several area restaurants before full filling her own dream of owning her own restaurant, proudly named Myers Family Restaurant which operated in Elmira Heights. Her many interest included bowling, visiting the casinos, time spent outdoors, and the daily enjoyment she found with her loving family which survive her.
A loving husband of 23 years, Daniel Myers of Wellsburg; a son, Michael S. (Mary) Wise, Elmira Heights; a daughter, Penny M. (Donald) Card, Ft. Myers, FL; step children, Daniel P. Myers, Elmira Heights; Debbie P. Myers, Binghamton; brother and sister-in-law, Frederick (Barbara) Quail, Wellsburg; father and stepmother, Clarence (Anna) Quail, Elmira, twelve grandchildren, her first husband and friend, William G. Wise Jr.; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother and step father, Beatrice and Jim Guest.
Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Thursday May 15, 2003 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM. Funeral services will follow the visitation Thursday evening at 8PM. With the Reverend Donald Knapp officiating. Thelma will be interred in the family plot of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira.
HEIM, Anna Leona Kuhlman
Age 102, died May 4, 2003, at Bethany Manor, Horseheads. Leona was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 23, 1900, a daughter of Allen Burton and Frances Gertrude Hornkamp Kuhlman. She graduated from Chicago Teachers College in 1919 and taught kindergarten in the Chicago public schools. She married The Rev. Dr. Ralph Daniel Heim (now deceased) on August 22, 1927, and with him moved to Greenville, Pennsylvania where he joined the faculty of Thiel College. There Leona served on the staff of the Leadership Training School of the International Council of Religious Education. When Ralph became dean of Hartwick College, the couple moved to Oneonta, New York, where Leona was organizer and president of the Hartwick College Women's Club and a director of the Oneonta Women's Club. In 1939, Ralph joined the faculty of the Gettysburg (PA) Lutheran Theological Seminary. In Gettysburg, Leona served on the boards of the Adams County Society for Crippled Children and Adults, the Adams County UNICEF Committee, the Gettysburg College Women's League, and the Central Pennsylvania Synod of the United Lutheran Church Women. She was a charter member of the Adams County Public Library and was instrumental in the organization of Gettysburg Garden Club and Senior Citizens Club. She held the position of executive director of the YWCA of Gettysburg from 1957 to 1962. Leona is survived by children Paul Kuhlman Heim, Elmira Heights, and Martha Heim Horton, Elmira; grandchildren Marianna Raho Thompson, Wantage, England, and John Anthony Raho, Elmira; grandchildren Michael McDaniel and Tara McDaniel, Mamaroneck, New York; and many nieces and nephews. Following cremation at the Northern Bradford Crematory, a private memorial service will be held at the family's convenience.
Skoreski, Candace J. "Candy"
Of South Avenue, Elmira age 57 passed peacefully from this life on Saturday May 3, 2003 at her home following a recent injury.
Originally from Mainesburg, PA, Candy was born on January 5, 1946. She enjoyed many interests including her love of animals, hiking in the Adirondack Mountains, a strong love of nature and the Arts. Her devotion to her loving family took precedence in her life. She retired from Corning Inc. following over 36 years of dedicated service as a Program Assistant. Her strong work ethic led her to employment as office manager for H&R Block during her retirement. Candy was an active member of the Elmira-Corning
Chapter of the International Association of Administrative Professionals as well as the CPS Society of New York.
Surviving is her loving family. Her mother, Delores Doane, Elmira; a sister and brother-in-law, Gloria (Willie) Crumb, Pine City; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dial (Sheila) Skoreski, Corning; and Kurt (Priscilla) Skorczewski, Horseheads; nieces and nephews, David Crumb, Lori (Tony) Negri, Darcy (Marty) Mucci, Debbie (Robert) Quigley, and Kerry Skoreski; great nieces and great nephews, Nicholas & Brent Mucci, Alex Crumb, Andrew & Lola Quigley, and Dakota Glosser. Candy was predeceased by her father, Joseph Skoreski in 1952, her brother Terrence Skoreski in 1963, her niece Kelly Jo Skoreski in 2003, and her long time friend and companion, Phillip Shea in 2000.

Ladoue, Joseph W.
Of Elmira met his Lord Tuesday evening April 29, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center following an unexpected illness at the age of 46.
Born on May 21, 1956 in the Bronx, NY, Joe was the son of Joseph F. and Rita O'Shaughnessy Ladoue. He received his engineering degree from the Academy of Aeronautics where he learned airframe and power plant aviation mechanics. He married his wife, Beth on November 6, 1992. Joe loved his Lord in his everyday life as well as performing missionary work twice in Boliva. He was employed by Corning Inc, before returning to school to further his education. He is remembered for his laugh and wonderful unique sense of humor he freely shared with those around him. Joe enjoyed gardening, home renovations, singing with "Common Time" and being around people and his cherished family.
Surviving is his loving wife and friend, Beth Ladoue; his parents, Joseph & Rita Ladoue, Stony Point; his brother and sister-in-law, Donal O'Shaughnessy & Carolyn Ladoue, Elmira along with their children, a niece, Jesse Ladoue and nephew, Donny Ladoue who was his special friend and best man in his wedding; a brother, Kenneth Ladoue, Stony Point; a Godmother, "Baby O"; sisters-in-law, Bettie (Clinton) Heasley, Wellsburg; Billie Jo (Charles) Bixby, Elmira; Karyn Manwaring, Elmira; a brother-in-law, William (Cheryl) Swingle, Lansdale, PA; a step father-in-law, Wayne Kelley, Elmira along with many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rumsey, Raymond E.
A resident of the Southside of Elmira passed away peacefully at St. Joseph's Hospital with his loving wife and friend Sharon at his bedside on Wednesday morning April 23, 2003 following a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56.
Born on January 17, 1947 here in Elmira "Ray" or "Jake", as he was known by his family and friends, was the son of Shirley Palmer Rumsey and Ralph G. Rumsey. He married Sharon L Pierce on January 17, 1970 and together spent their lives raising their family and caring for their home.
Ray kept active as a NASCAR fan, fishing, traveling, and camping. He was well know for his involvement in the West Elmira Little League Concessions for several years. Ray was a lifetime member and former Governor of the Moose Lodge of Horseheads. Always interested in the betterment of his community, he achieved the rank of Eagle Scout. He was a member of the Beekman Volunteer Fire Department and was instrumental in the formation of their Rescue Squad where he was very active. Ray retired from NYS Department of Corrections in 1999 after 32 years of dedicated service with the Green Haven, Elmira and Southport Correctional Facilities. During his long service in Corrections, He was a former Treasurer in the New York State Department of Correctional Officers Union.
Surviving is his loving wife and companion of 33 years, Sharon Pierce Rumsey, Elmira; a daughter and son-in-law, Bunnie & Tim Short, Campbell; a son and daughter-in-law, Brian & Colleen Rumsey, White Plains, MD; Ray's mother, Shirley Palmer Rumsey, Wappingers Falls; his father and step-mother, Ralph G. & Ruby Rumsey, Orlando, FL and Jasper, GA; a brother, Douglas Rumsey, Wappingers Falls; step-sisters, Margaret (Bill) Parker, Jasper, GA; and Jean (Jerry) Thomas, Marietta, GA; his mother-in-law, Isabelle Pierce, Elmira; Ray's cherished grandchildren, Ashley, Joshua, Kali & Elyssa Short; nieces, nephews, cousins along with a community of wonderful friends.

Brown, John F.
A longtime resident of Pine Valley passed away Thursday evening April 17, 2003 peacefully at the Arnot-Ogden Medical Center following an illness at the age of 89.
Born here in Elmira, John was the son of the late John & Carolyn Disney Brown. He was first married to Geraldine M. Brown who predeceased him along with his sisters, Mildred, Madelyn & Helen. John was employed by Fassett Corporation as an inspector for over 27 years. He served in the United States Navy during WWII. He was very active in the Local Auto Workers Union # 604 and enjoyed his Sampson Naval Reunions in the fall time. A long time fan of the Brooklyn Dodgers and later the LA Dodgers, John enjoyed following sports. He attended St. Mary Our Mother Church of Horsheads.
Surviving is his loving wife and friend of 22 years, Dolores Barnes Brown of Pine Valley; along with his six children, Ann (Dick) Cox, Frances Janeski, John R. Brown, Gerald R. Brown, Phillip M. Brown & Karen (George) VanHouten all of Elmira; 18 grandchildren, 23 great grand children; a special cousin, Sarah Bisbee, nieces and nephews.

Cooper, Clinton L.
A longtime resident of Elmira passed away Wednesday evening, April 16, 2003 at St. Joseph's Hospital following an extended illness at the age of 86.
Born in his family home on Walnut St. Elmira, he left there to operate his farm and returned many years later to reside there to this day. Clinton was the son of the late Leroy & Florence Steen Cooper. He was the loving husband of Adelaide Bentley Cooper, together they enjoyed traveling. She predeceased him on March 10, 2000 following 39 years of marriage. He was a successful self employed dairy farmer in Springfield, PA where he took much enjoyment in harvesting the land and operating a dairy farm. Many hours were spent in the solitude of the outdoors bird watching. Animals always held a special place in Clinton's heart. He was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church of Elmira.
Surviving is his loving family; a sister, Florence Sykes, Leesburg, FL; nieces, Marilyn Sykes, Elmira; twin nieces, Nancy (Daniel) McWilliams, Eustis, FL; and Carol (David) Zerniak, Leesburg, FL; a nephew, Gerald (Raquel) Sykes, Ft. Worth, TX; sisters-in-law, Althea Cooper, Jersey Shore, PA; and Abderiene Graybill, North Canton, OH; along with additional nieces and nephews; a cousin, Bill Tunis of Horsheads. In addition to his parents and spouse, Clinton was predeceased by his brothers, Gerald & Harold Cooper.

Clinton and his family were most appreciative of the tremendous care he received from his caregivers as well as the doctors and nursing staff on the third floor of St. Joseph's Hospital. You made his last days very comfortable.
Bird, Clark W.
A long time resident of the Millerton, PA community passed away peacefully Friday morning April 11, 2003 in Millerton at the home of his son, in the loving care of his family following an illness at the age of 91.
Clark was born on October 28, 1911 in Williamsport, PA the son of the late John Clayton & Gertrude Zarr Bird. He married Vernice Gearhart on September 28, 1933. He was employed for many years at the Chemung Foundry as a Molder. In service to the Lord, he was a member of the Hillcrest Seventh Day Adventist Church of Wellsboro. An avid outdoorsman, Clark enjoyed the relaxation fishing & gardening brought him. He was always ready for the challenge of a good puzzle. A cherished husband, supportive father and grandfather, he treasured his family and was so very grateful to have been under their care through his illness.
Surviving is his loving wife and companion of 68 years, Vernice Gearhart Bird of Millerton; along with their children, Dean & Christine Bird, Port Saint Joe, FL; Robert & Janice Bird, Gillett, PA; Trudy & Duane White, Lawrenceville, PA; George & Jean Bird, Millerton, PA; Larry & Wendy Bird, Millerton, PA; 38 Grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren; and many caring friends. A resident of the town of Erin passed away peacefully at her home on Monday morning April 7, 2003 in the care of her loving family and Southern Tier Hospice at the age of 78.
Born in Sonestown, PA Dorothy was the daughter of Owen & Hazel Temple Sheets. She married Malcolm Shaw in 1945 and he predeceased her in 1988.
Coming form a large family herself, Dorothy cherished her home and caring for her children. Her many interest included gardening and shopping.
Surviving are her children, Dolly Dreher of Ovid; Annette (Richard) Gillespie of Jasper; Malcolm (Judy) Shaw of Queensbury; Sherry Shaw of Erin; Candice Shaw of Erin; and Michael Shaw of Montour Falls; sisters, Glady Shaw and Doris Stone of Gillett, PA; Shirley (Doug) Rerrick of Fassett, PA; Helen (Bob) Bircher of CA; brothers, Richard (Eddie) Sheets of FL; Leon Sheets of Millport; brothers-in-law, Joe Hunter of Gillett, PA and Richard Purvis of Horseheads; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Passed away on Sunday April 6, 2003 unexpectedly at his home at the age of 45.
James was born in Johnson City; son of John & Ramona Woodford Baumlin. He attended Broome Community College. Jim served in the United States Navy as a Navy Seal. He was employed with Time Warner Cable of Binghamton; Jim enjoyed the outdoors and especially cherished the time spent with his children. He is survived by his wife, Melissa Burnett Baumlin; his children, Parker Baumlin of Pine City; Nathan, Natalie & Trevor Baumlin all of Binghamton. He is also survived by his mother, Ramona Baumlin of Johnson City; a brother, John Baumlin of Vestal; sister's, Kathy (Bob) Heuman of Vestal; Linda & David DeCillis of Eldersburg, MD; Carol & Scott Price of Hadley; and Brenda Hull of Kirkwood; a mother & father-in-law, Susan & James Burnett of Pine City; sister-in-law, Christine Burnett of Ithaca and her partner, Sarah Wolle of State College, PA; and a brother-in-law, Jamie Burnett of Pine City; along with several nieces & nephews. Jim was predeceased by his father, John Baumlin.

Infant son of Moonyeen Stickler & Daniel Langan of Breesport joined the Angels following a brief visit in this world on Monday March 24, 2003.
In addition to his loving parents, Elijah is also survived by a sister, Melinda Langan, his brothers, Zachary Langan & Thaddeus Johnson all of Erin; his maternal grandparents, Carol Johnson & Harold White of Southport; paternal grandparents, Sally & Paul Langan of Elmira; a maternal great grandmother, Moonyeen Johnson of Elmira; paternal great grandmother, Marion Maher of Elmira; maternal uncles, Asa Stickler, Jack Johnson and Blaine Johnson White all of Southport; a paternal aunt, Deborah & Keith Hill of Greensburg, PA; nieces and nephews.

A resident of Painted Post, passed away following an illness on Friday, March 21, 2003 at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA at the age of 74.
Born on November 24, 1928, Caroline was the daughter of Matthias & Gertrude Morris Dapp.
Caroline had devoted her life to caring for others as a Nurses Aide. She enjoyed crafts, gardening and precious time spent with her two loving children and their families.
Surviving is her friend and companion of over 20 years, Harold Decker of Painted Post; her son and daughter-in-law, Lawrence & Yvonne Peters of Columbia Cross Roads, PA; a daughter, Carol Peters of Rome, PA; her father, Thaddeus Dapp; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces & nephews. Caroline was predeceased by her mother, Gertrude Morris; a grandson, Richard E. Peters and a granddaughter, Dawn M. Peters.

Mitchell, Mary Ann
Passed away following an illness at St. Joseph's Hospital on Saturday March 15, 2003at the age of 80. Mary Ann had previously resided at Elcor Health Services and Bangor, PA.
Born on November 12, 1922 Mary Ann was the daughter of the late John J. and Mary Ann Lonick Mitchell. She graduated from St. John's University and devoted her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. During WWII, Mary Ann served in the United States Army as a 2nd Lt. Army Nurse. Her many interest included gardening, traveling, and enjoying the outdoors.
Surviving are her nieces, Patti Mitchell of Horseheads; Sue & Boyd Lamberson of Horseheads; Nancy & Mike Reynolds of Erin; great nieces, Lisa & Becky Reynolds; a sister-in-law, Joan Mitchell. Mary Ann was predeceased by her sister, Frances Becker and her brother, John Mitchell.

Seeley, Dorothy M.
A life long resident of Elmira passed away peacefully on Friday March 7, 2003 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility following an illness at the age of 84.
Dorothy was born here in Elmira on December 31, 1918 daughter of the late Willard and Mary Lis Leisenring. She graduated form Elmira Free Academy in 1936. Dorothy married Edward Frances Seeley on October 12, 1940 and he predeceased her on February 13, 1981. She worked for many years at St. Joseph's Hospital as a Nurses Aide. Dorothy was a life long communicant of St. Mary's Church. She devoted her life to caring for those in need, a kind lady who cherished her family and friends. Dorothy was most grateful to have shared her home in later years, with her loving granddaughter and husband, Abygail & Adam Keller and her great grandsons, Brendon & Trevor who took extra special care of her.
Surviving are her children, a daughter and son-in-law, Marcia-Lee & Alex Harrian of Savona; sons and daughters-in-law, Dave & Cindy Seeley of Southport; and Joel & Susan Seeley of Charleston, SC; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren; sister's Eleanor Merrone of Elmira; and Lois Lincoln of Mt. Morris; and a brother, Tom Leisenring of Binghamton; along with nieces and nephews.

Holland, Harlan R. "Bob"
A long time resident of the Coudersport, PA community went home to be with his Lord and Savior peacefully, in the care of his loving family, on Wednesday February 12, 2003 in Fairport, NY. Following a courageous battle with cancer, he died at the age of 77. Bob was born in Willoughby, OH; son of the late Montague and Polly Pamela Harrison Holland. He grew up in Mills, PA. After graduating from Harrison Valley High School, he served in the United States Army Air Force during WW II. While in service to his country, he received the Distinguished Flying Cross. After returning home from the war, he would marry the love of his life and his best friend, Marie Johnson on July 30, 1946 in Harrison Valley, PA. Together they raised their family to believe and trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. Bob was employed by West Penn Power Co. as a linemen for over 27 years. His many interests included aviation, electronics and quality time spent with his cherished family. Always happy to share his quick wit and sense of humor with those around him, "The sparkle in his eye never faded." Bob's faith in the Lord carried him through his own discomfort during his illness. Cratsley, Hazel L.
A longtime resident of the Elmira area before moving to Lakeland, FL sixteen years ago passed away on Saturday February 8, 2003 at the Lakeland Regional Medical Center unexpectedly at the age of 72.
Born here in Elmira, Hazel was the foster daughter of the late Clarence and Minerva Miller Roe. She worked in food service most of her life. While in Florida, Hazel was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church of Lakeland, FL. She enjoyed collecting Porcelain Dolls and time spent with family and friends.
Surviving is her loving family, daughter's, Linda (Jack Bishop) Cratsley and Rita Gleason both of Elmira; a son, Donald Cratsley of Lakeland, FL; along with their father, Edward (Jeanie Gleason) Cratsley of Pine City; brother's, Rodney (Nancy) Roe, Frank (Marilyn) Jago of Horseheads; Joe (June) Jago of AL; four grandchildren, Danny, Cris, Kayla & Clarissa; nieces and & nephews. Hazel was predeceased by her sister, Phyllis Roe and her son-in-law, Merrill Gleason and Hazel's grandson, BJ Bishop.

Tyler, Frances J. Westlake
A long time resident of the Millerton, PA area passed away on Thursday, February 6, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center following a lengthy courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65. Born on November 30, 1937, Fran was the daughter of Gerald D. Sr. & Janet M. Deming Smith. She graduated form Williamson High school and attended the Rochester Business Institute Fran was a member of the Millerton United Methodist Church. She was employed by Wheelers Restaurant as a baker for many years. Fran was dedicated to her community, assisting with various organizations in our area including the Salvation Army Safe House and helping the Millerton Volunteer Fire Department to raise funds to acquire much needed Jaws of Life equipment. Her greatest joy was found in her family she always enjoyed spending time with her friends.
Surviving is her loving family, sons and daughters-in-law, Robert M. (Diana) Westlake; William G. (Carla) Westlake; Bradley L. Westlake all of Millerton, PA; their father Robert G. Westlake; grandchildren, Brooke, Janelle, Troy, Derek, Aaron; a brother and sister-in-law, Gerald (Marleea) Smith of Millerton, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Beverly (Richard N.) Smith of Daggett, PA; nieces and nephews. Fran was predeceased by her parents, Gerald D. Sr. and Janet M. Deming Smith and her life long friend, Gladys A. Friends.

A resident of Elmira Heights, NY, passed away Wednesday, February 5, 2003 at the Arnot Ogden Medical Center. Born in Ginsheim, Germany Edith was the daughter of the late Hermann and Erna (Kullman) Stahl. She enjoyed her home, collecting, playing the organ and violin, traveling and her family and friends, especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her grandchildren William D. (Amanda) Stewart of Winter Park, FL, Laveta Stewart of St. Louis, MO with William Nothwang of Baltimore, MD, Sean Stewart of Daytona Beach, FL; mother-in-law Bernice Oldroyd of Elmira; close family friends Irene and Glen Little, Lynn and Mark Hill, Renata and Joseph Spallone. Edith was predeceased by her husband Donald in 1993, her son William in 2002 and her brother Hermann Stahl in 1989. There will be no prior calling hours. Family and friends are invited to a Graveside Service on Friday, February 7, 2003 at 2 PM in Woodlawn National Cemetery. Rev. Lotta Cohen will officiate.
Donohoe, David A.
Passed away at his home in Elmira at the age of 69.
Born on December 12, 1933, David was the son of Thomas & Anna Martin
Donohoe. He served in the United States Army and worked as a system Analyst.
His loving family survive him, brothers, Thomas Donohoe and Martin Donohoe, sisters, Mrs. Diane Fischer and Mrs. Ann Ziegler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday August 4, 2003 at Saint Matthew's Church in Hastings on Hudson, NY at 11 AM followed by graveside committal services in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
Latterell, Mary H.
A long time resident of Sycamore St. in Southport passed away peacefully on her birthday, Monday July 28, 2003 at the Chemung County Nursing Facility following an illness at the age of 79.
Born in Johnson City, Mary was the daughter of the late Marvin & Mildred Bush Hollister. She married Richard Latterell here in Elmira on August 29, 1942 and he predeceased her on July 10, 1991. Mary was well known throughout the area as a dedicated Avon Sales Consultant for over 40 years. She enjoyed time spent visiting with the many friends she made over those years and loved caring for her family and pets.
Surviving is her loving family, daughters and sons-in-law, Pam & Jim Dolan, Henderson, KY; Wendy & Don Pharis, Pensacola FL; Rick & Sue Latterell, Pine City, NY; a brother Arthur Hollister, AZ along with 8 grandchildren, 1 great grandson, nieces and nephews.

Schmidt, James T.
Of Pine Valley passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday afternoon, July 22, 2003 under the care of his loving family and Southern Tier Hospice at the age of 78.
Born here in Elmira, Jim was the son of the late James R. & Elizabeth Ryniker Schmidt. He married the love of his life and his best friend Jean Bartlett on June 21, 1947 in St. Patrick's Church, Elmira; together they have shared 56 years. Jim retired from P&C Food Markets in 1979 as a Meat Manager following many years of faithful service. He was very proud to be an American and served his country during WWII as a United States Marine in the Sixth Marine Division. While in service, Jim was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained during combat. His many interest included fishing, and hunting. His love of the outdoors and lifelong dedication to its preservation lead Jim to spend countless hours picking up our local highways and roads.
His loving family survive him, a wife and friend, Jean Bartlett Schmidt, Pine Valley; a loving and caring daughter and son-in-law, Sue & Joe Teets, Elmira Heights; a brother John & Mary Schmidt, Elmira Heights; grandchildren, James T. Janeski, Michael J. Janeski Jr., Jill & Leroy Brown, Mike Teets, Lisa Teets Costley and Adam Teets; great grandchildren, Andrew "Elmer" Costley, Brianna "Gert" Costley, Michael " Hank" Teets; nieces and nephews.

Dalton, Charles E. "Chuck"
A resident of Comfort Hill Rd. Wellsburg passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 from injures sustained in a motor vehicle accident in North Carolina at the age of 71.
Chuck was born on August 15, 1931 here in Elmira, the son of the late George & Helen Derry Dalton. He graduated from Elmira College with a Masters Degree. Chuck served his country in the United States Navy. He worked for the New York State Department of Corrections until he retired as a Lieutenant. Chuck married his best friend, Veronica "Vern" Dalton on April 6, 1974 in Horsheads. They have enjoyed spending the last 29 years together traveling, building their home, relaxing summers at the lake, and special times with family and friends. Chuck was a communicant of St. Casimir Church and a member of the American Legion Clarence Oliver Post # 154 of Elmira Heights.
His loving family survive him, a wife and friend, Veronica "Verne" Dalton, Wellsburg; daughters, Carol Walsh, Honeoye Falls; Cathy Spencer Albuquerque, NM; Christine Moheb, Cindy Henley and Charlene Allred all of Houston, TX; a son, Cory Dalton, TX; step daughters, Corinne & Dave Shughrou, Temecula, CA; Janice Eagle & Michael Stratton, Breesport; Anita Dvornicky & Deon Dalrymple, Hector; a brother, Bob Dalton, Elmira: numerous grandchildren, including his special granddaughter, the "Apple of His Eye", Pvt 1st Class, Tayrn Eagle USMC, Camp LaJune, NC; nieces, nephews, wonderful friends, coworkers and especially is canine companion, "Winnie".

Green, Thomas S.
Formerly of Horsheads passed away peacefully Saturday morning, July 5, 2003 under the care of his loving mother at their home in Cassatt, SC following an illness at the age of 50.
Tom was born on June 2, 1953 in Bath, the son of Frederick Allen & Kathryn Marilla Fairbrother Green. He was employed with ARC of Chemung County for many years until moving to Cassatt, SC with his mom, Kathryn Green who survives him along with his sister's, Dorene Pierce, Pittatasses, KY; Beverly & James Young, Woodstock, GA; Bonnie Green, Cassatt, SC; brother's Frederick A. Jr. & Wanda Green, Lugoff, SC; William & Deanne Green Sykesville, MD; and Robert & Kathy Green, Horseheads; aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Tom possessed a loving warm spirit that he shared with those who's lives he touched. He was predeceased by his father, Frederick Green in 1996.
