Munson, Samantha Alta "Sammy"
Left this world to join the Heavenly Angels on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday afternoon, November 25, 2004 at Strong Memorial Hospital where she had been receiving care following a brief illness at the tender age of 4.
Sammy entered this world on November 13, 2000 here in Elmira. Her memory is cherished by her mom and dad, Samuel & Lisa Munson, her big sister, Megan Munson, Pine City;

Meador, Charles T. "Chuck"
A longtime resident of Cory Land Rd. Gillett, PA passed away very unexpectedly Saturday morning, November 27, 2004 at Meador's Personal Care Home at the age of 79.
Born on August 2, 1925, Chuck was the son of Minor & Margaret Milligan Meador. He served in the United States Army and also in the Merchant Marines as a cook. He was well know in our community as the proprietor of Chucks Fine Foods which he operated on Elmira's Southside. He along with his first wife, Clara Margaret Maloney Meador operated the Colonial Inn for many years until her passing in 1966. Chuck married Ruth Nero Gates in 1973 and together renamed her business, Meador's Personal Care Home, Gillett, PA where together they resided and cared for many residents throughout the years. Chuck enjoyed cooking, family times and gardening.
Surviving is his family, a wife and companion, Ruth Meador; son's, Michael (Mary Ann) Meador, OH; Charles "Chip:" (Shinobu) Meador, TX; Timothy (Patty) Meador, Rome, NY; a stepson, Bill (Ellen) Gates, Gillett, PA; a stepdaughter, Cynthia Wise, Gillett, PA; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to his first wife and parents, Chuck was predeceased by a daughter, Anne Marie; two brothers, Minor Jr. Meador, Delbert Meador and a sister, Thelma Poore.
Following private family services this morning, Monday November 29, 2004, Chuck will be cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory and his ashes interred with his wife Clara, on the Maloney family plot in Sts. Peter & Paul's Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon, December 1, 2004 at 1 p.m. where the Chemung County Veterans Honor Guard will accord Mr. Meador full military honors.
Harris, Robert L. "Bob"
A longtime resident of Rogers Rd. Wellsburg passed away, Thanksgiving morning, Thursday, November 25, 2004 in the care of St. Joseph's Hospital following an illness at the age of 70.
Born here in Elmira, Bob was the son of Orin & Jessie Shaul Harris. He married his friend and companion, Sheila Ryan in 1970 and together they raised a loving close family. He was an Army Veteran serving during the Korean Conflict. After returning home, Bob was employed as a Laundry Pressman for many years and was also the proprietor of "Press Your Duds" which he operated until an illness. A life long woodworker, Bob loved the outdoors and being close to nature.
Surviving are his family, wife of 34 years, Sheila Harris; son's Mike Treat, Chemung; Scott Treat, Elmira; and Robert Harris, Elmira; a daughter and son-in-law, Vicky & Wayne Paul, WY; a sister Beatrice Southard, Erin; a half brother, Richard (Linda) Harris Erin; sisters-in-law, Dianna (Dan) Pastrick, Horseheads; Deborah Brink, FL; a brother-in-law, Kevin (Diana) Rogers, Elmira; six grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Bob was predeceased by his parents and his brothers, John, Ben and Glen Harris.

Adams, June F.
A long time resident of the Southport community passed peacefully from this life in to the arms of her Lord on Monday morning, October 25, 2004 following and illness while in the care of the Chemung County Nursing Facility at the age of 72.
Born her in Elmira, June was the daughter of Delbert & Frances Radney Kinner. She married Richard Adams in 1949 and together they raised a close and loving family. June enjoyed being a mother and homemaker and instilled in her family the importance of a Christian walk of faith with her Lord. June and Richard enjoyed dinning out and seeing their many friends socially.
Surviving is her loving family, husband and friend of 55 years, Richard Adams; their children, Richard & Maureen Adams, Horseheads; Robert & Barbara Adams Elmira; Ronald & Kathy Adams, Pine City; and Cathy & Wayne Keister Jr., Southport; 12 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, a sister, Velma Merrick, Elmira; a brother, Richard Kinner, Elmira and cherished friends.
She was predeceased by her parents, a brother, Donald Kinner, a sister-in-law, Leona Kinner and a brother-in-law, Doug Merrick.

Goodwin, F. Lucille
A longtime resident of the Village of Horseheads, passed away in the care of Arnot-Ogden Medical Center, Sunday morning, October 24, 2004 following an illness.
Lucille was born on July 3, 1928 in Montour Falls, daughter of John F. & Jewel Snipes Smith. She married Clyde C. "Bud" Goodwin on June 11, 1949 in Montour Falls and he predeceased her on December 21, 2001. She graduated from Arnot Ogden Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 as a Registered Nurse. Lucille was employed at Thatcher Glass and later at Schuyler Hospital, Montour Falls for sixteen years. She would spend many years caring for the sick and elderly and would strive to give her patients the best care she could. In serving the Lord she was a charter member of Calvary Baptist Church, 209 Gardner Rd. Horseheads, NY where friends will be received on Wednesday, October 27, 2004 from 10-11a.m. a Memorial Service will follow at the church (11a.m.) with her pastor and friend, Richard Curtis officiating. Lucille will be buried privately on Tuesday in Maple Grove Cemetery with her beloved husband "Bud".

Stevens, Samuel E. Sr. "Sam"
Passed from this life peacefully, at his Millerton, PA home, in the loving care of his family and hospice following an illness on Saturday afternoon, October 23, 2004. Born on December 31, 1936 in Wellsburg, Sam was the son of Kenneth E. Sr. & Matilda J. Pine Stevens. He married his loving wife and companion, Marjorie J. Wise in 1956. Together they raised a large loving family living in Chemung and Lowman prior to moving to Millerton, PA. Sam was employed for many years as a truck driver accumulating countless miles with Al's Leasing of Elmira Heights but always enjoyed coming home to his family. His many interest included fishing and auto repair. Surviving is his wife of 48 years, Marge Stevens and their children, Samuel & Dawn Stevens, Caton, NY; Deborah & Raymond Covey, Nelson, PA; Michael & Vickie Stevens, Elmira, NY; Cheryl Knickerbocker, Millerton, PA; Sheila Stevens & Steven McCormick, Millerton, PA; Edward Stevens & Shelby Renneniger, Elmira, NY; fifteen grandchildren including his "Charlie", Shelby Lynn Stevens who resided with him; eight great grandchildren; a brother Kenneth Stevens & Barb Marble, FL; and his canine companion, Shyla. Ballard, Erla R.
A longtime resident of Bentley Creek, PA passed away peacefully in her sleep, Monday morning, October 18, 2004 at the Bradford County Manor where she had been receiving care.
Erla was born on December 13, 1927 in Groveland, NY daughter of the late Robert B. & Alta Hanlon Lewis. She was married to Bob Ballard who predeceased her. Erla was employed for many years as a waitress at the Red Jacket Restaurant and Motel. She was well liked by both her customers and coworkers for her quick wit, sense of humor, and willingness to help others. Erla also enjoyed playing BINGO, was a member of the Ridgebury Sportsmens Club, and cherished time spent with her loving family who remain.
Her children, Ellen (Gavin) Finnerty, E. Smithfield, PA; Laurie Orcutt, Bentley Creek, PA; Clair (Val) Litteer, Bentley Creek, PA; Mark Litteer, Albemarle, NC; step children, Brenda (Steve) Olivero, FL and Brent (Paula) Ballard, NJ; twelve grandchildren; a sister, Letitia Thompson, Warren Center, PA nieces, nephews cherished friends and coworkers. In addition to her parents and husband, Erla was also predeceased by her sister, Roberta Lewis, her brothers, Robert and Stephen Lewis and her grandson, James Finnerty.

Kelsey, Lois
Formerly of Flannery Towers, passed away peacefully at her sons home in Elmira Heights while under the loving care of her family and Southern Tier Hospice on Saturday morning, October 2, 2004.
Born on June 22, 1937, here in Elmira Lois was the daughter of Edwin C. & Ruth Liddy Granger. She was married to Robert Kelsey Sr. and he predeceased her in 2003. Lois was a homemaker who enjoyed camping, playing Bingo, and caring for her own children as well as those she cared for in the "Fresh Air Fund" for many years.
Surviving are her children, Sherry & Michael Insogna, Elmira; Robert E. Kelsey Jr., Elmira and his girlfriend, Annette Romeo; and Joseph Kelsey, Elmira Heights; her daughter-in-law, Tina Columbine; sisters, Barbara Greg, Janet Mattison, and Mary Ann Elliott; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; Also surviving is her friend, and loving companion, Robert Costley, and a caring friend, Karen Newton.

Chaapel, William E. "Bill"
A longtime Financier with Marine Midland Bank of Elmira and the First National Bank of Bradford County, Towanda, PA passed away following an illness, Sunday morning, September 26, 2004 at the Robert Packer Hospital where he had been receiving care at the age of 79.
Born on July 26, 1925 Bill was the son of the late Harley & Nora Rogers Chaapel. He served in the United States Air Core during WWII and while in the service attended Davidson College and following the war enrolled in Peirce Business School. He loved working with the public and spent his life in finance retiring as the Executive Vice President of the First National Bank of Bradford County. In serving the Lord, he attended Southside Baptist Church where he was a former Chairman of the Board of Trustees. He was a longtime member of the Accountants Association, former member of the Lions Club in Canton, PA. and active in the Towanda American Legion as a past Treasurer. His many interest included fishing, coin collecting and playing golf.
He is survived by his loving family, a companion, friend and wife, Lorraine Whipple Chaapel, Southport; their daughters and son-in-law, Kay Chaapel, Camp Hill, PA; Sue & Ken Wood, Elmira Heights; a grandson with whom he shared a special bond, Christopher Wood; his mother-in-law, Myra Whipple, Troy, PA; a sister and brother-in-law, Phyllis & Charles Jolley, Orlando, FL; brothers and a sister-in-law, Robert Chaapel, LasCruces, NM; and Ted & Lorraine Chaapel. Hemet, CA; Lorraine's sisters with whom he was very close, Marcia (Jack) Randall, Canton, PA; and Norma (John) Percival, Dushore, PA; many nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Vicario, Mary Anne
A longtime resident of Baty St. Elmira passed away unexpectedly in New York City where she was undergoing care at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital on Sunday, September 26, 2004 at the age of 68.
Mary Anne was born on June 2, 1936 here in Elmira, daughter of the late Albert R. & Adele Joseph Herrick. She graduated from Elmira Catholic High School and was a lifelong communicant of St. Cecelia's Church and later, Sts. Peter & Paul's Church. She was employed for over 45 years at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center in Medical Transcription. Mary Anne's focus in life was caring for her home, cooking, and cherished moments with her family which survive her.
Her companion and loving husband, Eugene Vicario, her beloved son, Eugene "Geno" Vicario Jr. both at home; Mary Anne's brothers, William "Bill" Herrick, Dundee; and John Herrick, Elmira; her best friend and "sister", Virginia "Ginny" Herrick, Elmira; sisters-in-law, Peggy Herrick, Altay, NY; Marietta Toto; brothers-in-law, John Vicario, Frank (Fran) Vicario all of the NYC area; nieces and nephews and their spouses, Mike, Mark, Jennifer, William Jr., Lisa, Alex and Jeffrey Herrick; Peggy Sue Tortolon, Cynthia Oughterson Michael Toto, Christine Schultz, Maria Masci, Lisa Astarita, Paul Vicario, Michelle Vicario; cousins, great nieces and nephews; her aunt and uncle George & Mamie Joseph and Laura Herrick .

Fernan, William J. "Bill"
A beloved son, brother, community minded gentleman and cherished member of the Southport Kiwanis Club passed away very unexpectedly at Arnot-Ogden Medical Center on Monday evening, January 17, 2005.
He was born on January 31, 1947. Bill was predeceased by his father Richard "DeDe", paternal grandparents, Leo and Ester Fernan, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Nora Shults and several other close family members. Surviving Bill is his loving mother, Marion, his aunt Catherine "Kitty" Shults; brother James with his wife Kathy, a nephew Patrick with his wife Suzanne all of Elmira, his niece Colleen of Cary, NC, and his faithful K-9 companion "Nikki". Numerous cousins and friends also survive Bill.
He was a graduate of Rochester Business Institute. Many people throughout the community knew him through his association with local businesses and organizations. Bill was an active member of the Southport Kiwanis Club and he was named Kiwanian of the year in 2004. He was also a devoted fan of the Elmira Jackals and the Elmira Pioneer's. Bill was a communicant of the St. Mary's Church in Elmira and he enjoyed the hours he spent working on parish activities. Bill also found a great deal of joy volunteering his time with the Notre Dame Athletic Association at numerous athletic events. Each May, Bill would be sitting on the greens at the Corning Country Club cheering on the different golfers at the LPGA Corning Classic.
Family and friends will be received Friday evening, January 21, 2005 from 6-9 p.m. A Saturday morning prayer service will be held at Caywood's at 9 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Mary's Franklin St. Church at 10 a.m. with the Reverend Richard Farrell officiating. Graveside services will follow in St. Peter & Paul's Cemetery in the Fernan Family Plot.

Sullivan, Charles H. "Charlie"
A long time resident and active member of the Wellsburg community passed peacefully from this world on Monday morning, January 17, 2005 at his home in the care of his loving family and Southern Tier Hospice. Born on August 19, 1932 in Fassett, PA, Charlie was the son of Fred & Martha Dodgeon Sullivan. He was employed by the Chemung County Highway Department and was well know in the community as the proprietor of Wellsburg Tire for over fifteen years.
Surviving is his loving wife and companion, Shirley Sullivan and their family, Karl & Paula Sullivan, Kevin (Sharyn Knight) Miller, Thomas & Desirea Sullivan, Karen Quinones, Nancy (Marty Craig) Sullivan and Les Laursen; eight grandchildren many siblings including, Helen Bannister.
Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Saturday, January 22, 2005 from 1-2 p.m. a Service of Remembrance will be held at 2 p.m. Charles will be cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory prior to his service and his ashes will be scattered in the Pennsylvania countryside that he loved so much.

Bowman, Sylvia R.
Passed from this life on Friday evening, January 14, 2005 at Elcor Health Services following a long full life at the age of 103.
Born on May 6, 1901 in Philpsburg, PA, daughter of Frank & Minnie Copleland Richards.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed caring for her family as well as camping, hiking, gardening. She was married to Gordon Bowman, they lived in various communities in Pennsylvania including Springfield, Marsh Lands and Lambs Creek, PA. Mr. Bowman passed away in 1975.
In serving the Lord Sylvia enjoyed singing in the Lambs Creek Baptist Church Choir.
Surviving is her loving family, a son and daughter-in-law, Norman & Anna Zipperlein Bowman, Breesport; grandchildren, Bruce & Kate Rae Bowman and Brian Bowman also her great grandson, Kit Bowman.
Sylvia will be cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory and her services will be handled by her family at their convenience.
Bennett, Helen
A long time resident of the Southport community was reunited with her beloved Richard following a courageous battle with cancer on Thursday, January 13, 2005 peacefully in their home.
Helen was a Private Duty Nurse and cared for many area families during an illness or through their elderly years. Some of her patients she served for many years. In later years she brought comfort to countless families in her service to Caywood's. She made families feel at home and assured each one their needs would be cared for, and did it with the outmost grace, style and class.
Helen's many interest included dinning out at her favorite local restaurants, walking countless miles in her community, making sure her friends never did with out, and spending time with the love of her life, Richard Bennett until his passing in 1994.
Helen is survived be a community of close friends who cherished having her in our lives. We love you Helen and will never forget the imprint you have left on our hearts.
Whipple, Alice D.
A longtime resident of Elmira's southside passed away peacefully at her home very suddenly on Monday evening, January 10, 2005 at the age of 66 with her loving husband of 39 years, Charles "Jack" Whipple and her beloved son, Arthur Whipple at her side. Also surviving, a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth & Gary Adams, Ilion, NY and a brother-in-law, Gurden Wood, Ilion. NY. Alice was born on November 19, 1938 in Mohawk, NY daughter of the late Arthur & Dorothea Day. In addition to her parents, Alice was predeceased by her sisters, Clara, Dorothy and Flora.
She was a homemaker providing a warm and loving home for her family. She found great enjoyment in attending the Elmira Pioneer Baseball games.
Alice was an active member and Sunday School Teacher at the Riverside United Methodist Church, 559 Spaulding St. Elmira, NY 14904 where family and friends will be received at the church on Saturday, January 15, 2005 from 11a.m.-1p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 1 p.m. with the Reverend Mauri Rockwell officiating after which, Alice will be cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory and her ashes interred in the Whipple Family Plot of Woodlawn Cemetery at her families' convenience on Tuesday. Solometo, Helen A. Heppy
A longtime resident of Elmiras Northside passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday January 4, 2005 in the care of her family and Southern Tier Hospice at the age of 83.
Born in Thurston, NY, Helen was the daughter of the late Adam & Antoinette Heppy. She married Joseph Solometo in 1944 and he predeceased her in 1979. Helen was a longtime parishioner of St. Patrick's Church. She retired from Westinghouse Co. in 1981 after 21 years of service. She loved her home and made those who came to visit comfortable and welcome. Many hours were spent gardening and Helen enjoyed the relationship she shared with her feline companion, "Max". Her family always came first she loved and cared for each one and had a way of "telling it like it was".
Surviving are her children, Richard J. & Mary Ellen Solometo, Riverside, CA; Donald H. & Sally Solometo, Erin; Donna M. & Timothy Hazlett, Elmira; grandsons, Richard Jr., Anthony, Kerry, Andrew, and Joseph Solometo, a granddaughter, Ondraya Hazlett; great grandchildren, Ashley, Cameron, Alec and Luca Solometo; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary & Donald Shank, Daytona Beach, FL; sisters-in-law, Betty DeBlasio, Phil Heppe; nieces, nephews and cherished friends.

Age 36, formerly of Elmira, passed away very unexpectedly on Saturday, January 1, 2005 at Highland Hospital in Rochester NY due to surgical complications. Michele is survived by husband, Ivan of Arkport, NY; stepdaughters, Michelle, Lake Havasu, AZ; and Stacy, Arkport, NY; sister, Lisa J (Casey) Donegan, Painted Post, NY; brother, Michael J. (Jennifer) Peckally, Newportville, PA; a niece Stephanie M. Hatch, Painted Post, NY; parents, John A. and Linda L. Peckally, Elmira, NY. She was predeceased by paternal grandparents, Anthony M. and Milrae M. Peckally and maternal grandparents, Arthur H. and Grace J. Cadek.
Michele was a very kind, compassionate loving wife, stepmother, daughter, sister and aunt who had a heart of gold. She always did more for others than she did herself.
Michele was an honors graduate of Elmira Free Academy, honors graduate of Corning Community College, earning an associates degree in business administration and enrolled in many courses at Elmira College. While in Elmira, she was employed by Chemung Canal Trust Company as a Loan Officer and later worked at Elmira Savings Bank as a Loan Administrative Assistant.
Michele was a deeply religious person who served unselfishly in many various volunteer capacities at St. John's and St. Cecilia's Catholic Church's. She presently was a parishioner of Ss. Peter & Paul's Catholic Church.
Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Tuesday, January 4, 2005 from 4 - 7:30 p.m. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:30 p.m. A Wednesday morning prayer service will be held at Caywood's at 8 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in Ss. Peter & Paul's Church at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday morning with the Reverend Richard Farrell officiating. Interment
will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at the Peckally family plot.
Updike, Frances Griffin
A long time resident of Gillett, PA and the Bakercrest Home for the Elderly where she had resided for several years, passed away Sunday morning, December 26, 2004 at the age of 92.
Born on October 1, 1912 in Tioga County, PA, Frances was the daughter of George & Louise Barton Griffin. She married Glenn Updike on March 17, 1939 in Gillett, PA and he predeceased her earlier this year on May 13, 2004 after 65 years of marriage. Frances was a homemaker who was devoted to her husband and children, worked hard on the family farm, and raised her family to serve the Lord. She was a founding member of the South Creek Evangelical Church, Wellsburg. In earlier years she was employed as a telephone operator in Auburn, operated a beauty parlor in Gillett, PA and was employed for over 29 years with the Remington Rand here in Elmira.
Surviving is Frances' loving sons and daughters-in-law, James and Margaret Updike, Pine City; Daniel and Evelyn Updike, Hamlin; five grandchildren, James (Cris) Updike; Amy (Bob) Atwater; Dr. Glenn Updike; Mattie (Joel) Zarpentine and Daniel (Caryn) Updike; four great grandchildren, Eli, Jenna, "AJ" and Callie; nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Frances was the sole survivor of her fourteen brothers and sisters.
Family and friends will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway, Southport on Thursday, December 30, 2004 from 11a.m.-1p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1p.m. with her pastor, the Reverend Bryan Kain officiating. Interment
will follow in the Updike Family Plot of the Gillett Cemetery, Gillett, PA. Curren, Irma
A resident of the Fassett, PA community passed from this world peacefully at her home while in the care of her family and Guthre Hospice following an illness on Tuesday afternoon, December 21, 2004.
Irma was born in Mainesburg, PA the daughter of Harry & Leola Strange Frickel; She married her lifelong friend, Duane Curren on July 31, 1941 in Daggett, PA. Together they raised a loving and close family which survive her, husband and companion of 63 years, Duane Curren, Fassett, PA; their children, Cynthia Heatherington, Southport, FL; Martin D. & Phyllis Curren, Lawrenceville, PA; Timothy & Heide Curren, Gillett, PA; LaRue Curren, Lawrenceville, PA; Janet & Jeffery Holland, Havana, FL; sister's, Jane Daggett, Daggett, PA; Diane Stoner & Greg Rust, Cedar Creek, NM; a brother, LaRue Frickel, Elmira; a brother-in-law, Robert Curren, Millerton, PA; five grandchildren, Eugene and Edgar Ayres, April Powell Martinez, Tina and Molly Curren; six great grandchildren, Nikki, Chelsea, and Haley Ayres; Zachary, Jacob and Elijah Martinez; and many close and caring friends within the Fassett Baptist Church family where Irma attended for many years, especially her "adopted sister, Doris Ford.
Irma is remembered by her family as a loving wife and mother who found great joy in caring for her home, traveling to Florida in the winter but always returning home in the spring and especially her love of spending countless hours in her kitchen cooking. Her career was that of a homemaker but in earlier years worked on the family farm, for Bendix Co. as well as the Remington Rand.
Irma's family will gather for a private visitation after which she will be cremated at the Northern Bradford Crematory. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Service in the Fassett Baptist Church, Rt. 14 Fassett, PA on Tuesday December 28, 2004 at 4 p.m. with her friend and pastor, The Reverend Donald Rockwell officiating her ashes will be interred in the Millerton Cemetery, Millerton, PA at her family's convenience. Beach, Norma E.
Loving known as "Squirrelly" was a long time resident of Elmira and passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning, April 5, 2005 at the Arnot-Ogden Medical Center where she had been receiving care at the age of 81. Prior to being hospitalized, she resided at the Chemung County Nursing Facility and also Hampton Rd. Southport.
Surviving are her loving children, Barbara Beach, Southport; Linda & David Cole, Southport; David R. Beach, MA and Nancy & Gus Goodwin, Elmira; seven grandchildren, John (Shannon), Kathy (Kevin), Toni, Tanya, Jamie, J.J., Sierra; two great grandchildren, Kayla and Ryan; a brother, Clarence W. & Betty Rounsville, Elmira; nieces, nephews and family friends which will be received at Caywood's Funeral Home & Gardens, 1126 Broadway on Saturday April 9, 2005 between the hours of 2-5 p.m. Funeral services will follow the visitation at Caywood's at 5 p.m. with the Reverend Cathryn Stevenson officiating. will take place in the Beach family plot of Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Elmira at the families convenience.
Norma was born on February 4, 1924 in Elmira, daughter of Clarence & Helen R. Strawn Rounsville. She was the beloved wife of Raymond E. Beach, who was well known in the community as a Sgt. with the Elmira Police Department until his retirement, he passed away in 1993. Norma was employed by the Remington Rand for many years but her main interest was caring for her family and her home. She also took great enjoyment in crafts, crossword puzzles, playing cards and collected squirrels.
Her family would like to thank the staff of the Chemung County Nursing Facility along with Arnot-Ogden Medical Center for the Care given to our mother during her illness.
