SCHERER - Virginia, she died in her home in Shrewsbury, Mass., on May 19, 2000, in her 78th year. She lived in Syosset from 1954 to 1976 where she raised her family with her now deceased husband, Edward. Virginia was a loving mother who devoted her life to her family. She was known affectionately as Mimi to her grandchildren whom she loved dearly and who brought her great joy. Over the years she developed her creative gifts through her remarkable quilting, interior designing, gardening, painting and wall murals. Virginia is survived by her children, Kay, Ed, Ginny and Tom Scherer; her grandchildren, David, Kiersten, Todd, Colby, Kristin, Julianne, Maggie May and Robin, and her great-grandchild, Haley. She is also survived by her sisters, Dottie, Maxine, Helen, and her brother, Henry. Virginia's extraordinary inner spirit was an inspiration to all who knew her. Her selfless devotion to her family will be honored and remembered forever.

SCHEURING - Janet Reid, 81, of Old Claremont Road in Charles town, N.H., died Wednesday eve ning, April 25, 2001, at the Valley Regional Hospital in Claremont. She was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., on February 4, 1920, the daughter of Robert and Marion (Murray) Pollock. She resided in Charles town for the past 25 years and previously lived in Hempstead, N.Y., for many years. The family includes her husband, Alois A. Scheuring of Charlestown whom she married on February 22, 1941; one son, Gene Scheuring of St. James, N.Y.; one daughter, Donna Stark of Mason, N.H.; sev en grandchildren, five greatgrandchildren; also nieces and nephews. Friends may call the Stringer's Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main St., Charles town, N.H., on Saturday after noon and evening from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.
