GIACALONE - Joyce, formerly of Levittown, NY, on Wednesday November 22, 2000, after a long illness. She was 55 years old. Born August 18, 1945 in Seattle, WA to Hermine and Frederick Gross. Joyce worked nearly 20 years in the food industry and was the Executive Administrative Assistant to the President of a large food broker located on LI, from 1983-1995. After moving to Raleigh, NC area in 1996 Joyce worked for several electronic companies in Triangle Research Park until 1998. Joyce is survived by Louis, her husband of 35 years; son Vincent and his wife Angela of Massapequa, NY; son Gerald of Farmingdale, NY; her mother Hermine Gross of Merrick, NY; brothers Fred Gross, of Merrick, NY, and Richard Gross of Copaigue, NY. She was cremated on Friday, November 24, 2000, with a private ceremony held for immediate family.

GONZALEZ - Clemencia ''Cuca'' on January 12, 2001 at the hospital in Miami, FL. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1923, married to Joaquin Gonzalez Buigas in 1947. A graduate of the University of Havana, she earned Doctorates in Natural Sciences, English Studies and Teaching. In 1960, she moved to NY and was Professor of Geology and Geography at C.W. Post College, LI University until her retirement in 1995. She retired to Miami, FL in 1998. Survived by her son Joaquin Juan Gonzalez of Virginia, brother Julio de la Torre of Connecticut, grandchildren Sara Gonzalez and Nicholas Gonzalez of Virginia, and by niece Mary Alice de la Torre of Connecticut.
