Member of the Polish National Alliance of Brooklyn; Tin Can Sailors; Mount Sinai American Legion and the Saratoga Legion; past president of the Village Senior Citizens, Middle Village, Queens. Predeceased by wife Sophia Bury Brzozowski. Survived by son Raymond, Wilton, NY and daughter Geraldine Proferes, Mount Sinai, NY. BUNN - Warren, son of the late Anna Jeanette Johnson, formerly of Huntington and Bay Shore, suddenly on October 9, 2000. Beloved husband of Emily for 50 years. Devoted father of Warren, Angela, Sandra, Wayne, Ilona, and Darla. Dear brother of Pearline, Leo, Emmet, Elaine, Nellie, Jean, June, Rosemarie, Howard and Anne. Dear cousin of Virginia Gumbs, Richard Hall and David Stevenson. Dear grandfather of eleven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also survived by a host of other nieces, nephews and cousins. He loved where he lived and he lived where he loved. Services will be held in Henderson, Nevada.

BURG - Kathleen M. Born in Wood haven, formerly of Freeport. Beloved wife of Walter C. Burg. Devoted mother of Richard Burg, Kathleen Connor, Susanne Sprague, Regina Burg, Nancy Yeno, Michael Burg, Paula Burg and Maureen Haggerty. Also Survived by her eighteen grandchildren and her eight great-grandchildren. Visiting Thursday and Friday 2-5 and 7-9 PM at the N.F. Walker Funeral Home, 2039 Merrick Avenue, Merrick. Funeral Mass Saturday 9:45 AM, at Sacred Heart R.C. Church. Cremation private.

BURKE - Barbara, 56, of Westbury, LI on April 6, 2001, after a long and valiant battle with cancer. Beloved and devoted wife of Raymond Burke and loving mother to Kelli-Ann Burke of VA. A kind and caring person who had a great love of life and a deep devotion to her family, Barb left a deep and enduring mark on everyone who had the good fortune to know her. She believed in the value of family and the importance of passing on her life experiences. Her extended family in Canada will miss her deeply. Her husband Ray will carry on her caring ways with their daughter and her husband John Kelly, who are looking forward to the birth of the next generation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the local Cancer Society. Memorial Service at Cecere Funeral Home, 356 Westbury Ave., Carle Place, Sunday, 2-5pm.

BURKS - Clarence L. of Santa Fe, NM, born September 3, 1919 on October 8, 2000. Before moving to Santa Fe, he was a longtime resident of Amityville, N.Y. After moving to Santa Fe, he was a founding member and served in the Friendship Club. Through his 24 years in Santa Fe he made many friends who will miss him. Clarence was a Captain in the Army during WWII and served in Italy and North Africa. Survivors include his wife Noel Burks; children Holly Baldwin, Robin Steiniger and husband Bill, Christopher Burks, and Keith Burks and wife Patty. He was so proud of his grandchildren Tom Steiniger, Cynthia Baldwin, Nichole Burks and Dwight Burks. Services will be held 11am Thursday at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

BUTLER - Lewis J., 76, of Pawca tuck, CT, formerly of Oyster Bay, NY, on Friday February 2, 2001. Beloved husband of 51 years to Dorothy E. (Hyett). Army Air Corp Veteran of WWII and served in the Pacific. Also survived by his children Paul (Maureen) of Ivoryton, CT, Patricia of France, Thomas, Allen and Peter all of Oyster Bay, NY and Mary (Brian) McLaughlin of Hamden, CT, and six grandchildren. Predeceased by his brother John Butler. Mass of Christian Burial, 9am, Monday, at St. Pius X Church, 45 Elm St., Westerly, RI. Burial with Military Honors, 2pm, Monday in Calverton National Cemetery, Calverton, NY.

BYRNE - Robert Edward, age 69, of Northport, L.I., formerly of Cambria Heights on February 5, 2001. Decorated Korean War Veteran U.S. ARMY. Survived by his loving daughter Madelyn Rose Byrne, her partner Linda Fisher, and their son Jason. Also Survived by his dear sister Helen Lau (Joseph), his adoring niece and nephew Chris and Nicole Lau, and his dear sister Veronica Byrne, and her family. Friends and family are invited to attend a funeral mass at St. Peter of Alcantara Church, Port Washington, Thursday at 9:30 AM. The in terment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery, Farmingdale.

BYRNS - Edgar Francis, Jr., 83, died May 29, 2001, in Greensboro, N.C. A native of Long Island, N.Y., he was employed as an Engineer for 37 years by the New York Telephone Company and completed the last 5 years of his career at Western Electric, Guilford Center. Married November 29, 1941, his loving wife, Madeline, survives him, as do his sons: Joseph, Edgar, Dr. Daniel, Matthew, and their wives: Janet, Maureen, Karen Ann, and Karen Barbara. There are seven grandsons, six granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, along with his sister, Margaret R. Byrne, and brother, George Byrns and wife, Sylvia. A Veteran of WW II, he served in Europe with the 30th Infantry Division, Headquarters Co., 2nd Battalion, 120th Infantry Regiment. After landing in Normandy in 1944 and fighting through Germany, he was wounded and awarded the Purple Heart, Bronze Star, and Silver Star for bravery. His final resting place will be Arlington National Cemetery with Mass at the Old Post Chapel on June 20th.
