Myrtle "Marie" Rose
Myrtle "Marie" Rose, 66, of Deer Park, passed away suddenly February 2, 2005. She was born June 28, 1938 in Hanford, California to Roy H. & Lucille Brown. She was preceded in death by her parents and by husband, Glenn Rose in August of 1997. She is survived by sons, Mike Rose & wife, Deidrah; and Greg Rose all of Deer Park ; by brother, Frankie Baker of California and two granddaughters, Ashley Rose and Krystal LaRive.
Services were held in Houston National Cemetery on Friday, February 4, 2005 where she was laid to rest under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Eldine Marie Deshotel
Mrs. Eldine Marie Deshotel, 77, of Houston, passed away February 2, 2005. She was born October 1, 1927 in Whiteville, Louisiana to Bertrand & Laura Janice. She married Ashbell Deshotel on August 7, 1946 and retired as Director of Enviromental Services from the old Northshore Medical Center after 15 years. She was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 brothers and one sister and one child, Bobby Ray Deshotel. She is lovingly survived by her husband of 58 years, Ashbell Deshotel of Houston; children, James Deshotel & wife, Juanita of Lorrain, Ohio; Elvin Deshotel & wife Rhonda of Baytown; Glenn Deshotel & wife Sharon of League City; Michael Deshotel of Webster; Angela Bingham & husband Charles of Conroe, Texas; and Sidney Deshotel & wife Sherry of Jacinto City; as well as by 12 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, other family members and friends.
Services celebrating her life were recited Friday, February 4, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Father Oscar Castro and officiate. She was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Tanya Kay Peavy
Tanya Kay Peavy, 43, of Channelview, passed away suddently March 31, 2005. She was born August 30, 1959 to Sammy & Kay Bosley in Houston, Texas. She is survived by her husband of 14 years, Ronald James Peavy of Channelview ; daughters, Tiffany Gray Zaruba of Houston and Sami Cheyenne Peavy of Channelview; parents, Sammy & Kay Bosley of Huffman; sister, Sheri Zorn of Crosby ; grandmother, Lorene Denton of Jacinto City ; as well as one grandchild, Kira Lynn Zaruba. Memorial Services celebrating her life were held Sunday, April 3, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Ila Orie Hicks
Mrs. Ila Orie Hicks, 92, of Channelview, formerly of Pasadena, passed away March 29, 2005. She was born May 28, 1912 in Eupora, Mississippi to James Edward Murrah and Bethiney Holland Murrah. She was preceded in death by two husband, Maurice Herring & Carl Hicks; and by one daughter, Doris Herring. She is lovingly survived by sons, Daniel Herring of Channelview ; and James Herring of Baytown, Texas ; as well as by one sister, Lometa Preston of Mississippi and seven grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren. Services celebrating her life were held Friday, April 1 at Carter Funeral Home. She was laid to rest in Grandview Cemetery in Deer Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

James William McCallum
James William McCallum, 81, of Channelview, passed away March 29, 2005. He was born May 20, 1923 in Dallas, Texas to Floyd & Ruth McCallum. He faithfully served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Nelda McCallum, by his parents and by two sisters. He leaves to cherish his memory daughters, Nelda Andrews & husband Doyle, and Sue Cranford and husband Jesse; sons, Floyd McCallum and Mark McCallum; as well as 19 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren. Services were held Saturday, April 2, 2005 in Mesquite, Texas and he was laid to rest in Long Creek Cemetery in Sunnyvale, Texas. Local arrangements with Carter Funeral Home.

Holly Traweek Carroll
Holly Traweek Carroll, 79, of Houston, passed away March 26, 2005. She was born July 18, 1925 in Cold Springs, Texas to Wash Anthony Traweek and Sarah Elizabeth Traweek. She worked as a Certified Public Accountant and Bookkeeper. She was a former member of Holy Trinity Methodist Church. She is preceded in death by her husband, Clifford E. Carroll Sr. in 1987 and also by parents and 2 brothers and 4 sisters.
She is lovingly survived by daughter & son-in-law, Sharon & Barry Baronet of Houston; sons & daughter-in-law, Clifford E. Jr. & Mary Carroll of Houston and Michael David Carroll also of Houston; as well as five grandchildren, Jason Carroll, Billy Carroll, Sarah Carroll, Jared Baronet, and Nicki Baronet-Reeder; and great-grandchildren, Kelsea Carroll, Tyler Baronet, Noah Reeder and Avery Reeder.
Services celebrating her life were held Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Rev. Carey Trickey officiating. She was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Pallbearers were James MeGee, John McQueen, John Traweek, Johnny W. Traweek, Johnny Duncan, Kenneth Bennett and Darrell R. Traweek as honorary pallbearer.

Helen Lucy (McDonnell) Cantril
Helen Lucy (McDonnell) Cantril joined our Lord on Saturday, March 26, 2005. After her battle with cancer, she died peacefully at the home of her son Dennis, surrounded by her family. She was born on November 13, 1916 in Soap Creek Township, Davis County, Iowa. She was an active member of First Christian Church of Ottumwa, Iowa for many years. She is preceded in heaven by her husband Lamar Cantril; mother, Alice McConnell, father, Harry McConnell; brother, Jesse McConnell. She leaves to cherish her memory, her sister, Hannah Hutchings, daughter, Alice Bennett & husband David; son, Lamar Ross Cantril and wife Kim; son Dennis Cantril and wife Linda Buoy; grandchildren, Ray Bennett, Casey Bennett, David Bennett, Jr.., Helen Cantril, Destry Cantril, Tom Cantril, B.L. Buoy and Tammy Buoy.
The Celebration of Life was held Tuesday, March 29, 2005 at Carter Funeral Home in Houston, Texas with grandson, Rev. David Bennett, Jr. of Rock Island, Illinois officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Houston, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to Christian Friendliness, 3928 12th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265.

William Raymond Brown
William Raymond Brown, Sr., 68, of Houston, passed away March 20, 2005. He was born June 21, 1936 in Waco, Texas to William Clifford & Cleo Brown. He was preceded in death by his father and by one sister, Jeanette Fowler; as well as by wife, Grace Louise Brown in 2004 and by one daughter, Dezerderry Mitchell in 2001. He is survived by mother, Cleo Blake of Houston; son, William Brown, II of Huntington Beach, California; daughters, Melanie Lucero of Ledbetter, Texas and Faith Rosenbaum of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by sisters, Rosemary Stoneburnen, Louise Alfonone and Shirley Brown all of Houston ; and 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Carter Funeral Home.

William Jarrell Roebuck
William Jarrell Roebuck, 70, of Channelview, went home to be with his Lord March 15, 2005 after a brief illness. He was born February 5, 1935 in Jasper, Texas to William J. & Buris Roebuck. He was a veteran with service in the U.S.Army. He was a Mason and Shriner with membership through Lodge 89 in Prattville, Alabama. He worked as an engineer for Brown & Root for 25 years. He was a 40 year resident of Channelview and he was the owner & founder, of Giggles & Grin's Day Care and Pecan St. Christian Academy in Channelview since 1983. He was a former member of Memorial Baptist in Channelview and presently a member of Dell Dale Avenue Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Alice Roebuck; son & daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne "Pete" & Barbara Roebuck of Houston; daughter & son-in-law, Susan Renae & Steve Sheffield of Channelview; sisters, Billie Jean Isabell of Katy, TX and Wanda Asbeck of Baytown; grandchildren, Stephanie Sumbera, Amy Roebuck, Melissa Roebuck; Jake Sheffield, Cody Sheffield & Colton Sheffield ; and great-grandchildren, Alyssa Sumbera and Cortlyn Sumbera. As well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends including best friends, Beth &Marsh Rawlings.
Services celebrating his life were held Friday, March 18 at Dell Dale Avenue Baptist, in Channelview. He was laid to rest in Resthaven Cemetery in Silsbee, Texas under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Bill was deeply loved and respected by all of his little students and toddlers that he and Alice cared for on a daily basis; as well as by long-time friends and church family. He will truly missed here, but greatly welcomed into the kingdom of God.

Sonja Maree Hawks Krause
Sonja Maree Hawks Krause, 43, of Houston, went home to be with her Lord, March 12, 2005. She was born August 10, 1961 in Port Lavaca, Texas to Garth M. Hawks & Frieda M. Ballard Hawks. She married Alvin Krause Jr. on October 18, 1986 and was a writer, author and teacher of the gospel of Christ. She is preceded in death by both of her parents and is lovingly survived by her husband of 18 years, Alvin Krause, Jr.; sisters, Angela Pendleton and Pam Landrum of Middletown, PA. and Linda Harris of Jefferson City, Missouri ; as well as by one niece, four nephews, numerous cousins and friends.
Services celebrating Sonja's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Channelview Church of Christ, 1301 Sheldon Rd. at Ashland, with Mr. Jim Mullican officiating. She was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Baby Celeste Danielle Estrada
Baby Celeste Danielle Estrada, was born into this world and went to her heavenly home on March 11, 2005. She was born to Marcus Anthony Estrada and Christina Leighann Leanox. She is lovingly survived by her parents, and grand-parents, Jackie Baga and Michael Leanox of Channelview and Sophie Estrada of Houston ; and great-grandmothers, Patricia Perry and Rachael Cornelius; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Graveside services were held Tuesday, March 15, 2005 at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Houston where she was laid to rest, with Rev. Gene Conwell officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Sharon Louise Turner
Sharon Louise Turner, 61, of Houston, passed away March 7, 2005. She was born July 1, 1943 in Tacoma, Washington to Kelly B. & Mary Jane Powers. She was preceded in death by her parents and by one daughter, Becky Turner in 1990. She is survived by her husband, Vernon W. Turner of Houston; children, Mary Moore and Susette Turner both of Houston; and by Lonnie Turner also of Houston; six grandchildren, Justin Turner, Vernon Moore, Jack Pezo, Gail Pezo, Kellie Turner and Joshua Turner; one great-grandchild, Elisha Pezo; as well as by two brothers, Larry Powers of Portland, Oregon and Kelly Powers of Tacoma, Washington.
Services celebrating Sharon 's life were held Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Reynolds of Heritage Baptist Church officiating. She was laid to rest in Houston National Cemetery under the direction of Carter Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Justin Turner, Vernon Moore, Roberto Cardenas, Robert Maynard, Phil Reynolds & Scott Mathews.

David Lee Ault
David Lee Ault, 51, known to many as Tattoo, passed away March 6, 2005. Tattoo was born October 24, 1953 in Dover, Ohio to William E. & Maude Ault. He is lovingly survived by his wife, Sandra McCarty Ault of Houston; children, Shelby Ault of Houston; Jason Ault & Anastasia Parson of Ohio; step-sons, Jason Este and Tony Fontenot both of Houston; father, William Ault of Ohio; brothers, James Wallace; Billy Wright & Joseph Ault; and sister, Emily Smith.
Services celebrating Tattoo's life were held Saturday, March 12, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Dennis "Rubberhead" Rutherford and Rev. Paul Duve "Apostle Paul" officiating. B.F.F.B.

Ronald James Montroy
Ronald James Montroy, Sr., 64, of Houston, went home to be with his Lord March 3, 2005. He was born September 19, 1940 in Kaskaskia Island, Illinois to Raybern & Maria Montroy. He served his country in the U.S. Coast Guard and worked in his own sheet metal company. He is preceded in death by his mother and by one son, Robert A. Montroy Sr..
He is lovingly survived by his wife of 45 years, Barbara Montroy of Houston; sons & daughters-in-law, Jim & Jamie Montroy of Humble and Rick & Patty Montroy of Baytown; daughter & son-in-law, Tanya & Rick Maddox of Baytown; father, Raybern W. Montroy of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; sisters, Pat Ross and Michelle Thomure both of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri; as well as 10 grandchildren, Robert, Jr., Lydia, Amanda, Ricky, Jr., Tyler, Josh, Erika, Jennifer, Roman & Madison. Services celebrating Ron's life were held Monday, March 7 at Carter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Danny Bezet officiating. He was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park with military honors by the American Legion Post 521 under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Earl Wayne Myers
Earl Wayne Myers, 53, of Houston, passed away April 30, 2005 in a local hospital. Mr. Myers was born October 19, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Chester Carl Myers Sr. and Jewel Edith Simmons Myers. He was preceded in death by his parents and by one sister, Theresa Putnam. He is survived by two brothers, Glenn R. Myers and Chester Carl Myers Jr. and by two daughters, Tiffany Myers and Misty Myers. Graveside services were held Friday, May 6, 2005 in Forest Park Lawndale with Mr. John Haymon officiating under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Charles Gross
Charles A. Gross, 46, of Channelview, passed away April 30, 2005 following a tragic motorcycle accident. He was born August 18, 1958 in Houston, Texas to Jack L. & Maria Gross. He is preceded in death by both parents and is lovingly survived by one son, Michael Gross of Highlands, Texas ; one sister, Mary Gross of Houston and many many friends. Services celebrating Charlie's life were held Tuesday, May 3, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

He is lovingly survived by his parents, Pete Almaraz IV and Diane Herrera of Houston; big sister, Cyndie Almaraz of Houston; grandparents, Cynthia Herrera and Daniel Herrera of Houston; Frances Macias of Houston and Pete Almaraz, III of Houston; great-grandparents, Maria & Daniel Herrera, Juanita Lopez and Mary & Pete Almaraz, Jr. Memorial services were held Friday, May 13, 2005 in Carter Funeral Chapel with family and loved ones in attendance.

Tommy Joe Myres
Tommy Joe Myres, 53 of Crosby, formerly of Houston ; passed away April 29, 2005. He was born December 9, 1951 in Houston, Texas to Samuel Brant & Betty Lee Myres. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife, Elizabeth Ann Myres and by sons, Kenneth Brant Myres and Thomas Lee Myres. He is lovingly survived by sisters, Betty Wilson & husband Wayne of Crosby; Penny Drawhorn & husband Mark of Pinehurst, Texas; brother, Sammy Myres & Paula Bolling of Galveston, Texas; children, Sammy Wood and Tammy Wood, grandchildren, Brianna Myres and David Myres; as well as a number of nieces, nephews and friends. The family and friends gathered for a time of fellowship and celebration of Tommy Joe's life Wednesday, May 4, 2005 at Carter Funeral Chapel.

Linda Elaine Miller Day
Linda Elaine Miller Day, 49, of Center, Texas, passed away April 21, 2005. She was born November 18, 1955 in Pasadena, Texas to John David Miller & Diane Elaine Bogue Miller. She was preceded in death by her husband Frank Edward Day in 1999. She is lovingly survived by her son & daughter-in-law, Kevin & Norma Miller of Channelview; daughters, Kristy Day of Center, Texas and Amanda Randle of St.Augustine, Texas; mother, Diane Morgan of Channelview; sister, Patty Sergornor of Houston; and brother, Dennis Miller also of Houston; as well as 8 grandchildren, Kevin Ray Gore, Kevin Wayne Miller, Jr., Christopher Miller, Morgan Turman, Brianna Williams, Jordan Tucker, Tianna Williams and Brayden Barnes. Services celebrating her life were held Tuesday, April 26 at Carter Funeral Chapel and she was laid to rest in San Jacinto Memorial Park under the direction of Carter Funeral Home.

Charles Beebe
Charles M. Beebe, 47, of Channelview died peacefully at his home, April 16, 2005 after battling colon cancer for 14 months. Charlie was born in Houston, Texas March 11, 1958. He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth V. Beebe in 1997. Charlie is survived by his wife Andrea; son, Randy Beebe of Pasadena ; daughter & son-in-law, Holly & Alex Oetting of North Carolina ; mother, Robbie Beebe of Channelview and brother, Mitchell Beebe also of Channelview ; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Charlie's career was in the automotive paint & body supplies where he made many good friends who he cared about and respected. His smile, wit, many jokes and knowledge of his industry will be missed by all who knew him. Memorial services to celebrate his life will be held 11:00 am Wednesday at Carter Funeral Chapel with Pastor Kevin Ricer officiating.

Robert Andrew Polley
Robert Andrew Polley, 76, formerly of Calvert, Texas and Channelview, passed away April 16, 2005 in Baytown. Mr. Polley was born October 16, 1928 in Salina, Kansas to Charles Arthur Polley & Helen Marie Gillette Polley. He is survived by sons, Robert E. Polley of Deer Park, Texas; Barry Lynn Polley of Pasadena; and Phillip Polley of Houston, Texas; daughters, Mildred Brosseit of Dayton, TX; and Rebecca Garcia of Runge, Texas; as well as by grandchildren, Justin, Lee, Shelby, Robert Lee, and Amyris. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later date. Arrangements with Carter Funeral Home.
