Margaret Huxley, 78, of 223 Hayden Hill Rd Torrington
died Monday Feb. 21, 2005 at Dr. Andrew and Henrietta Panettier Burn Center at Bridgeport Hospital. She was the wife of the late Albert Huxley. Born in New Hartford May 3, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Charles and Nina (Twining) Harrison.
She attended Bakerville and Torrington Schools, graduating from Torrington High School.
She is survived by a brother, Lyman Harrison of New Hartford and two sisters, Lucretia Huxley and her husband Walter and Mary Jane Nunh and her husband Gary of Torrington, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Floyd and Albert Harrison and a sister Josephine Seitz.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday at 11 AM at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Karen Wheeler, 33, of 86 Calhoun St Torrington
died Sunday Feb. 20 at her home. She was the wife of Dave Wheeler. Born Aug 8, 1971 in Torrington she was a graduate of Bristol Eastern High Class of 1989 and graduated from Branford Hall with a Paralegal degree in 2002. She was a Justice of The Peace and a Notary Public in Torrington and was employed by Cumberland Farms in Torrington.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her father and step mother, Glen and Madeline Lederman of Bristol, and mother and step father, Dave and Patricia (Rochelle) Tracy of Naugatuck. She also leaves a son, Christopher Downing of Plainville and a daughter Jessica Bessette of Naugatuck, stepsons Thomas, David and Michael LaFountain and Thomas Wheeler and David Wheeler III and step daughter Samantha Wheeler.
She also leaves a step brother John Delaney III and step sister Heather Delaney, and her in laws David Wheeler Sr and his wife Evelyn of Canaan. She was predeceased by a sister Rochelle Lederman.
Private funeral services will be at the convenience of the family. Phalen Funeral Home in Torrington has charge of arrangements.

Helen A. Silano, of 22 Cook St. Torrington
died Saturday Feb. 19 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of Joseph "Lefty" Silano. Born in Torrington daughter of the late Michael and Helen Cibalskas, she was formerly employed as a foreperson at the Specialty Division of The Standard Plant for The Torrington Company.
She loved to travel and taking care of her yard, planting and landscaping, and was an avid knitter. She was also a fan of UCONN Husky Basketball.
In addition to her husband, she leaves her son Alan Silano and his wife Christine of Torrington and grandson Brent Silano. She also leaves a brother Joseph Cibalskas of Torrington, and was predeceased by her sister Mary Maro.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday Feb. 23 at 10:30 AM at Saint Francis Church 160 Main St. Torrington. Burial will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery.

Elsie Foelzke, 92, of 736 Torringford West St Torrington died Thursday Jan. 17 at Marathon Health Center. She was the wife of the late Walter Foelzke. Born in Terryville April 22, 1914, she was a long time Torrington resident. Family was her life, she enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren and loved to cook and bake and care for her dogs.
She is survived by two daughters, Linda Hall and husband Colin of Torrington and Joyce Young and husband Bruce of Winsted, grandchildren Tom Dwyer, Cindy Woodin and husband Wes, and Charles Young and his wife Mary. She also leaves four great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Jan 22 at 11 AM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave Torrington. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Stella T. Skibisky, 87, of Torrington
Stella T. Skibisky, 87, of Torrington passed away peacefully Wed. Jan 16 at Valerie Manor with her husband Charlie by her side. Born in Torrington Jan. 26, 1920 daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Nadolnik Koldys. She was a devoted homemaker, her entire life, and enjoyed decorating her home with her handmade crafts. She was a wonderful grandmother and great grandmother and nurturer to many children throughout her lifetime, and was also a member of The Sullivan Senior Center.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Charlie, and daughters Jane Mastrogiovanni and husband Will of Torrington and Beth Landry and husband Paul of Salisbury NC, 4 grandsons, William Mastrogiovanni Jr and wife Pam, Matthew Mastrogiovanni and wife Cathie, Jon Landry and wife Erika, and Ben Landry. She also leaves great granddaughters Lillian, Anna, and Mia Mastrogiovanni and Alexis and Olivia Landry. She also leaves 2 sisters Mary Knox and Florence Farrell and a brother Joseph Koldys. She was predeceased by a son Charles and brothers William and Matthew Koldys.

Gladys May Kittle, 93, of 17 Fox Run Torrington died Sunday Jan. 13 in Torrington. She was the wife of the late Edward Kittle. Born in Torrington Sept 5, 1914 daughter of the late Ward and Maude Rice, she was a LPN having worked at Winsted Hospital, Anne's Nursery, and also worked at private duty.
She is survived by sons Elmer and Edward Kittle of Torrington and several grandchildren including Glenn Kittle whom she raised and his wife Teresa. She also leaves many great grandchildren nieces and nephews, cousins, as well as sisters Shirley Gammon and her husband George of New Haven and Mildred McCoy and husband Odell of Hartford. She was predeceased by a son William Kittle.

Paul A. Zajac, 18, of 2183 Highland Ave. Torrington
died Sunday June 26 in Torrington as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Torrington June 27, 1986 son of Paul M and Cindy (Collen) Zajac, and was a graduate of Torrington High School, Class of 2004.
He was employed by Big Y in Torrington.
He was the lead guitar player and singer in the band AKW, and was a street bike enthusiast, a member of Street Bikes 322 Club.
In addition to his parents, he leaves two brothers, David F. and Stephen J. Zajac of Torrington and grandparents Robert and Joan Bennette of Niantic, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by grandparents Paul and Zita Zajac and Edwin Collen.

John "Lenny" Nilsson, 72, of Torrington
died Friday June 24 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Sally (Barrante) Nilsson. Born in Torrington May 22, 1933 son of the late John A. and Esther (Carlson) Nilsson, he served in The Navy Seabes during The Korean War.
He was the retired owner of Nilsson Auto Body in Torrington.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, David Nilsson and his wife Kathleen, daughter Lenny-Lee Nilsson and granddaughter Jennifer Columbia. He also leaves his sister Marie Davis and her husband Jerry, all of Torrington, as well as nieces, nephews, and friends.

Gloria A. Pilbin, 73, of 50 Broad St Torrington
died Thursday June 23 at Wolcott Hall. She was the wife of William E. Pilbin. Born in Southington July 22, 1932 daughter of the late Lawrence Reid Sr. and Arlene Fournier Reid, she was a former employee of MacDonald's in Terryville. She was a member and one of the original founders of The Northfield Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary.
In addition to her husband, she leaves five children, Linda Rosa and her husband Gary, Betty Mucha and her husband Wayne, William L." Billy "Pilbin of Torrington, Jay Pilbin of Terryville, and Sonny Pilbin and his wife Penny of Winsted, grandchildren Tammy, Melinda, David, and Melissa Pilbin, and a great granddaughter Paige Hartwell. She also leaves a nephew Peter Reid of Terryville. She was predeceased by her brother Lawrence "Sonny" Reid Jr.

Dorothy G. Langenheim, 90, of Torrington
died Thursday June 30. She was the wife of the late Harry Alfred Langenheim Sr. Born in Torrington March 18, 1915 daughter of the late Edward and Hattie (Humphrey) Priest, she was brought up in Winsted and attended local schools and graduated from Torrington SecretCourier School. She lived in Torrington since her marriage. She was a communicant of Trinity Episcopal Church and a long time member of the Trinity Guild. She was a knitter for LARC and enjoyed quilting.
She was a sales clerk at McCann's Department Store in Torrington.
She is survived by a daughter in law, Helena Langenheim and son Edward Langenheim and his wife Carole all of Torrington, and grandchildren Hal, Mark, Heidi, and Scott Langenheim and Jodie Ann Dodson, and great grandchildren Mark Jr. and Kayla Langenheim and Zoie Dodson.
She was predeceased by her son Harry A. Langenhiem Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday July 2 at 10:00 AM at The Chapel at Hillside Cemetery. Burial will be at Hillside Cemetery following the service. Phalen Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.

Thomas John "TK" Kennedy, 53, of 87 Hart Dr. Litchfield
Thomas John "TK" Kennedy, 53, of 87 Hart Dr. Litchfield died June 29 at his home follow a long illness. He was the husband of two weeks of Diane Damon Kennedy.
Born in Torrington Nov. 17, 1951 son of the late James F. and Marie (Lovallo) Kennedy, he attended Saint Francis School was a graduate of Torrington High School Class of 1969. He graduated from The University of Connecticut in 1975.
He was employed by The Connecticut Department of Corrections until his retirement in 2003.
He was an active member and Union Steward for the AFSCME Local 387 and served for many years on the executive board, and was a delegate to the Union's National Conference.
An accomplished harmonica player and songwriter, he played with The Generics, EKG, and Friendly Fire. He was current president of The International Musicians Assoc, Torrington Local 514, and was Secretary and Treasurer of The Connecticut Conference of Musicians.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughter Erin Kennedy of Litchfield, his twin brother James F. Kennedy, nephews James F. Kennedy III and Sean Kennedy and a great niece Laila Marie Kennedy all of Salisbury, two aunts Nancy Volpe of Torrington and Kay Everett of Maine.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday July 2 at 9:00 AM at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. All are invited to an open tribute concert after the service Saturday at 87 Hart Dr Litchfield. Bring your instruments.

Susan Gualducci, 57, of 11 Nutmeg Rd Middlebury
died Sunday as a result of a fire at her home. She was born in Waterbury Nov. 21, 1946 daughter of the late George and Bernice (Kelley) Dearborn. She was a graduate of Terrryville High School and Post College in Waterbury.
She was formerly employed by Trinity Church in Waterbury and she retired from The American Red Cross in Waterbury.
She is survived by a son, Gary Gualducci Jr of El Paso TX and two brothers, David Dearborn of Wilton and Bryon Dearborn of Ridgefield, and several nieces and nephews.
A Memoria Service will be held on Saturday March 20 at 11 AM at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington. Burial will be in the spring in Winchester Center Cemetery.

Yvonne Morton, 84, of 113 Mill Lane Torrington
died Sunday March 14 at Litchfield Woods. She was the wife of the late George Morton who died in 1991. Born in Torrington Nov. 4, 1919 daughter of the late Joseph and Camille (Borey) Morel, she was a graduate of Torrington High School Class of 1937. She was retired from The Torrington Company after 35 years of service as an inspector.
She was a member of St. Francis Assisi French Rosary Society and served as their secretary since 1982 and a communicant of Saint Francis Church
She leaves a niece Joan Buchas and her husband Joseph of Bristol and nephews Harold Avallone of Torrington and James Avallone and his wife Carol of Titusville FL and a long time friend Roger Iffland of Torrington.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday March 16 at 10:30 at Saint Francis Church. Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Friends may call at The Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington on Tuesday from 9-10 AM.

Marjorie Adele Saunders, 77, of 97 Benham St Torrington
died Tuesday March 9 in Torrington. Born in Torrington Nov. 24, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Russell and Alma (Campbell) Patterson. She attended Torrington Schools and Hartford Hospital School of Nursing and was an RN, working for The Brooker Memorial in Torrington and also for Winsted Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and also was a past president of The Torcon Women's Club.
She is survived by her son, Robert L. Saunders and his wife Rene of East Windsor and a granddaughter Diana Blake. She also leaves a brother, Irving Patterson of Jupiter FL and a sister Eva Johnson of Fort Meyers, FL.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday at 10 AM at The Chapel at Hillside Cemetery 76 Walnut St Torrington.

John Sherlock, 91, of 388 Charles Street Torrington
died Friday Feb. 18 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of the late Adele (Furtek) Sherlock. Born in Tariffville on May 9, 1913, son of the late Walter and Anna (Bobik) Sherlock, he was employed as an Inspector at Royal Typewriter and later retired as a Quality Control Inspector at Pratt and Whitney Aircraft.
He was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church and was an avid stamp collector. He also enjoyed animals.
He is survived by two sons and two daughters, Attorney Ronald P. Sherlock and his wife Cheryl of Harwinton and John Sherlock Jr. and his wife Rosemary of Kentucky, Virginia Bastien and her husband George of Vermont and Betsy Hord and her husband Craig of Washington State. He also leaves grandchildren Rebecca and Elizabeth Sherlock of Harwinton, Andrea Sherlock of Kentucky, Andrew, Margaret and Peter Bastien of Vermont and Lonnie and and Glen Hord of Washington State. He leaves several great grandchildren and three brothers, Anthony Sherlock of Manchester, Paul Sherlock of South Windsor, Peter Sherlcok of Massachusetts, and a sister Mary King of Manchester.

Christopher M. Maher, 25, of 405 Hillside Ave Torrington
died Tuesday Feb. 15 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. He was the husband of Jaclyn (Cyr) Maher. Born in Torrington August 23, 1979 son of Michael and Debra (DeDominicis) Maher, he was a graduate of Oliver Wolcott Tech, Class of 1997. He had been Captain of the OWTS Basketball Team and Rifle Team.
He was employed by Scoville Plumbing and Heating Co as a plumbing and heating technician for the last seven years.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and also enjoyed snow skiing, and was a member of Torrington Elks Lodge and also participated in their bowling league. He was also a member of The North American Hunting Club.
In addition to his wife and parents, he leaves a sister Erica Maher and grandmothers Eleanor DeDominicis and Patricia Maher, and father in law Steve Cyr and mother in law Lexy Goss and her husband Edward, all of Torrington and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday Feb. 22 at 10 AM from Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington to Saint Francis Church for a Mass at 10:30. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM.

Lucille 'Lindy" Bekasi, 79, of 495 Wildcat Hill Road
died Monday Feb. 14 at Haven Health Center in Torrington. She was the wife of 57 years of Frank "Fred" Bekasi. She was born in Torrington Jan.1, 1926 daughter of the late Robert and Pearl (Elliot) Lynn.
Before her retirement, she was employed by Eclipse Glass Company in Thomaston.
She and her husband were sports fans for years and were honored by Lewis S Mills Girls Softball Team for their faithful support.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son Jeffrey F. Bekasi and his wife Judy of Harleysville PA and a daughter Judith B. Noonan of Fort Lauderdale FL. and four grandsons.
She was predeceased by a son Lynn "Teddy" Bekasi and brothers Robert and Roy "Corky" Lynn and sisters Wilda Tripaldi and Virginia Smith.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday Feb. 17 at 9 AM from Phalen Funeral Home to Immaculate Heart of Mary Church for a Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial will be at the convenience of the family at West Cemetery in Harwinton. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM.

Bernice Dougal Tofield, 88, of McKinley St Torrington
died June 18 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of 66 years of the late Roland H. Tofield Sr. Born in Winsted April 6, 1917 daughter of the late Frederick and Grace (Bunnell) Dougal, she was a former employee of The Torrington Company. She and her sister were the proprietors of Netti's Lingerie in Torrington before her retirement. She later volunteered at LARK.
She is survived by two sons, Terry Tofield and his wife Barbara and Roland (Toby) Tofield Jr of Torrington and grandchildren Christopher, Tori and Tina. She also leaves a sister Arlene Benny, and several nieces and nephews and a dear friend Isle Naehrig. She was predeceased by a brother Fred Dougal.
Graveside Services will be held on Thursday June 23 at 11:00 AM at Hillside Cemetery in Torrington. Berenice Decker Bonasera, 73, of Torrington
died Monday March 8 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Torrington Dec. 4, 1930 daughter of the late Walter and Carrie (Dearing) Decker.
She was formerly employed by The Sullivan Senior Center.
Known for her artistic talents, and decorating abilities, she was a still life portrait painter.
She was a member of Center Congregational Church.
She is survived by her daughter Kim Bickford and her husband Gerald and a son Todd Bonasera and his wife Hui of Torrington and grandchildren Ashley and Elliott Bickford and Lee Bonasera, and 4 great grandchildren.
She also leaves two sisters, Elsie Florio and Barbara Kuhn of Torrington and a brother Charles Decker of Longmeadow MA.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday at 10 AM at Center Congregational Church.
Burial will follow at Hillside Cemetery. There are no calling hours.
