Mary Hull, 90, of Thomson Heights Torrington
died Monday Jan 27 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Leland C. Hull. Born in Torrington, July 30, 1912 daughter of the late George and Rosalie (Thorpe) Bishop, she was a life long Torrington resident.
She is survived by two sons, Lewis Hull of Winsted and Albert Hull of Norfolk, and five daughters, Mary Langley of Torrington, Marge Krupinski and Judith Beebe of Winsted, Alice Gabriel of Beacon Falls, and Carol Sterling of Tucson, AZ. She also leaves 27 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren, and 4 gr. gr grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a son, Raymond Hull, and 8 sisters and 2 brothers.

Paul G. Lemieux, 69, of 11 Johnson St. Torrington
died Friday Jan.24 2003 at his home. He was the husband of Geraldine (Bourque) Lemieux who died Jan 3. 2003.
Born in Torrington March 11, 1933 son of Alma (Messier) Lemieux of Torrington and the late Gerard Lemieux, he served in The US Army during the Korean War in The 7th Infantry Tank Division in Korea from 1950-1953.
He was employed as a mechanic for Zele Chevrolet in Torrington for many years and later retired from The Water Pollution Control Facility for The City of Torrington.
He was a member of Saint Francis Church and The Knights of Columbus, and was a model builder and collector of model cars (especially Corvettes) and airplanes, and tanks.
In addition to his mother, he leaves his daughter Michele Bellody, and six sons, David, Gregory, Marc, Vincent, and John Lemieux all of Torrington and Gerard Lemieux of Adelaide, South Australia, and 17 grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday at 9:00 AM at Saint Francis Church 160 Main St. Torrington. Burial with Military Honors will follow at New Saint Francis Cemetery.

John E. Kuchta, Jr. 89
a longtime Torrington resident and businessman in Torrington died Tuesday Jan 21, 2003 at Middlebury Convalescent Home in Middlebury where he and his wife have lived since 1999. He was nearly 90 years of age.
Born in Torrington March 22, 1913, second child of John and Mary (Varga) Kuchta who immigrated from Austro-Hungary in 1902. He left school at the age of 12 to help support his family by working at Turner and Seymour Foundry where his father was employed. After losing part of his thumb in a work related accident in the late 1920's, he went to work at a South Main St. gasoline station. By the mid 1930's he was running the South End Service Station and The South End Tavern on Albert Street. He retired in 1968 and enjoyed many happy years on his "retirement ranch" in Harwinton and winters in Florida. He regularly regaled family and friends with stories of his wonderful customers that he enjoyed so much and harrowing tales of midnight winter oil deliveries in the far reaches of Cornwall and Goshen during WWII when his brother Ernie was serving with Gen. Patton in Europe.
He married Maryanne Liptak on Sept. 4, 1937 and they celebrated their 65th anniversary in Sept. 2002.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Joan Maloney of Middlebury and two sons, Richard Kuchta of Harwinton and John E. Kuchta III of Franklin, MA and four grandchildren and two great grandsons. He also leaves two sisters, Mary Bonini and Helen Kocsis. He was predeceased by a brother Ernest and a sister Anna.

William Llewellyn, 88, of New Hartford
died Thursday March 27 after a short illness. He was the husband of the late Jane (Peterson) Llewellyn. Born in Ynysddu, Wales Dec. 20, 1914, he was a Veteran of WWII serving in The US Coast Guard.
He was retired from New Departure Mfg. Co.
He was a member of The VFW Post 2390, and The Saint David's Society. He also was a member of The Masonic Lodge of New Hartford and Shriners Council Waterbury Valley Chapter.
He is survived by a son William G. Llewellyn and his wife Kathy of CT, and two daughters, Gwyneth Sundell and her husband Robert of NY and Peggy Fate and her husband Fred of CA
He also leaves grandchildren Morgan and Megan Llewellyn of CT, Kristin Sundell and her husband Brad Simpson of NY, Nancy Sundell-Turner and her husband Todd of OH, and David Aitken and wife Nicole of CA. He also leaves a great granddaughter, Mikayla Anne Aitken.

Helen Suffern Richards, 90, formerly of Torrington
died Monday March 19, 2003 in New Jersey. She was the wife of the late Herbert Richards. Born in Pennsylvania March 17, 1913 daughter of the late Stanley and Julia Suffern, she had lived in Torrington nearly 60 years. In the 1920's she worked for The Owl Cigar Factory and later worked for The Torrington Company.
She is survived by a daughter Sandra Dean of Wood Ridge, NJ and a son Edward Richards of Crown Point IN and two grandsons, Frank and James Dean and a grandaughter Katherine Waltermire, and a great grandson Baxter.
A Memorial Mass will be held on April 6 at 10:15 AM at Saint Francis Church in Torrington, CT.

Robert L. Bassett, 73, of 46 Thompson Drive Torrington
died Wednesday March 26 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Lorraine (Hurlbut) Bassett.
Born in Torrington Nov 12, 1929 son of the late Lucius and Miriam (Knight) Bassett, he was a graduate of Torrington High School class of 1947 and The University of Connecticut, Class of 1956. He served in The US Army during the Korean War.
He was employed as Drafting Engineer for The Metropolitan District Commission in Hartford for 31 years, retiring in 1989.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Richard Bassett and James Bassett of Torrington and grandchildren Brandon Scott Bassett and Logan Emily Bassett. He was predeceased by a brother George E. Bassett.

died Thursday June 11 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Jesse C. Sprague, Jr. Born in Waterbury March 11, 1943 daughter of the late Harry and Jennie (Rotondo) Greguoli, she was an aide at Highland Acres in Winsted and most recently she retired from Lark Industries in Torrington
She is survived by two sons, Jesse C. Sprague III of Torrington and Keith Sprague of Winsted, and two daughters, Pam Cyr of Hartford and Susan Madore of Thomaston, 2 brothers Harry Greguoli of Bristol and Donald Greguoli of Waterbury, and 5 grandchildren.

Oliver Marcantonio, 82, of 76 Turner Avenue Torrington
died Thursday June 12 at Valerie Manor. He was the husband of Loretta (Silano) Marcantonio.
Born in Limosano, Campobasso Italy on July 22, 1920 son of the late John and Antoinetta (Covatta) Marcantonio, he served in The US Navy during WWII.
He was a well known roofing and heating contractor in the area for many years. An avid bowler, he was a member of The Professional Bowlers Association.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Oliver Marcantonio of Exeter, NH, Frank and Gregory Marcantonio and a daughter Lisa Smith, all of Torrington. He also is survived by two grandchildren Connor William Smith and Evan Robert Marcantonio, and one brother Rudy Marcantonio of Torrington.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Louise (Conti) Marcantonio, a son Robert Marcantonio, and three brothers, Frederick, Joseph, and Oscar Marcantonio.

Marshall H. Waldron, Sr. 82, of 148 Wyoming Ave. Torrington
died Saturday July 19 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Eleanor (Lathrop) Waldron. He was born in Torrington December 7, 1920 son of the late Dr. George H. and Helen (Hodges) Waldron.
He was a graduate of Torrington High School Class of 1938 and he attended The University of Connecticut. He was a US Navy Veteran of WWII serving three years on PT Boats, and he participated in the D Day invasion of Normandy. He also served in The Pacific Theater.
He was employed by The Torrington Company for 41 years before his retirement.
He was a member of Center Congregational Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Marshall H Waldron Jr of Beaufort, SC, and Graham R. Waldron of Torrington, 3 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Hodges Waldron, Fletcher Waldron, and Loomis Waldron of Torrington and Graham L Waldron of Winchester, and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret Amelia Weingart, 91, of 121 Lake Harwinton Rd Harwinton
died Wednesday July 16 at her home. She was the wife of the late Theodore V. Weingart. Born in Torrington on June 2, 1912, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Francesca (Nebiolo) Cavagnero.
She is survived by a son Theodore V. Weingart Jr of Harwinton and two daughters, Frances Adams and her husband Robert Adams of Burlington and Lois Grady and her husband R. Peter Grady, also of Burlington. She also leaves grandchildren Justin Grady and Kevin Grady and his wife Lara. She is also survived by a brother Erman Cavagnero of Torrington and two sisters Yolanda Rondano of Harwinton and Rose Turri of Torrington. She was predeceased by a brother Alfred Cavagnero.

died Saturday Sept 27 at Haven Health Care in Torrington. She was the wife of the late Theodore Roman. Born in Torrington March 18, 1916 daughter of the late Louis and Antonia (Entrez) Radocy, she was formerly employed by The Torrington Company and Stars Department Store. She was a communicant of Saint Francis Church and a member of Saint Francis Mother's Club.
She is survived by three sons and their wives, Thomas and Joy Roman of East Longmeadow MA, Gary and Angie Roman of Suffield, and Terry and Donna Roman of Farmington. She also leaves her sister Helen Smigel of Torrington and 5 grandchildren, Kimberly and husband James Hyslip, Matthew Roman and wife Kate, Amanda Roman, Scott O'Dell and Courtney O'Dell Piper and husband Bruce and great grandchildren Jeremiah and Joshua Hyslip and Jack Piper. She was predeceased by five brothers and three sisters.

David L. Rinaldi, 59, of 244 Brightwood Ave. Torrington
died Monday Sept 22 at Danbury Hospital. He was the husband of Maureen (McManus) Rinaldi. Born in Torrington Feb 20, 1944 son of the late Frank and Minnie (Schnell) Rinaldi, he was employed as a superintendent for O&G for 25 years.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter Kim Hunt and her husband Michael of Torrington and a grandson Aaron. He also leaves 4 brothers, Frank Rinaldi of Morris, Nick Rinaldi of Torrington, Danny Rinaldi of West Palm, FL and Gilbert Rinaldi of Torrington and 4 sisters, Caroline Osowiecki of Thomaston, Margaret Henneberry of Waterbury, Barbara Rinaldi and Nancy Rinaldi of Torrington, several nieces and nephews.

Roland H "Rolli" Tofield, Sr., 87, of 121 McKinley St Torrington
died Friday Sept. 19 at Litchfield Woods Health Care Center in Torrington. He was the husband of 66 years of Bernice (Dougal) Tofield. Born in Torrington April 6, 1916 son of the late Henry and Lydia (Bussemey) Tofield, he was employed by The Torrington Company up until his retirement. Prior to that he was a Police Officer for The Torrington Police Department for 25 years, and had also worked for The American Brass Co and Dwan & Co.
He was a member of The Torrington Lodge of Elks, Eagles Club, and The Sons of Italy. He was Board Chairman of the March of Dimes and was instrumental in collecting monies for The March of Dimes for over 10 years, dropping off collection cards at various local business locations.
An avid sports fan, he was a pitcher on The Torrington Company Softball League and various baseball leagues.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Terry Tofield and his wife Barbara, and Roland "Toby" Tofield Jr, all of Torrington and grandchildren Christopher, Tori, and Tina.
He also leaves a brother Howard Tofield of Sun City AZ and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Ellsworth Tofield.

died Tuesday Dec. 16 at Noble Horizons. She was the wife of the late Julius Collins. Born in New York City Oct 28, 1903 daughter of the late Abraham and Rose (Schapp) Quint, she moved to Connecticut in 1993. She was a graduate of Barnard College Class of 1925.
She is survived by two sons, Matthew Collins of Cornwall and Arnold Collins of Chicago, and three grandchildren.

died Sunday Dec 14 at Saint Francis Hospital in Hartford following a long illness. She was the wife of Paul A, Schroeder. Born in Helens, Lancashire England July 7, 1923 daughter of the late James and Elizabeth (Arnold) Ludden. She was employed by Charlotte Hungerford Hospital and Rumsey Hall School, as well as being a care-giver for many years.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, James Schroeder of Goshen and Barry Schroeder and his wife Leslie and granddaughter Jennifer of Winston Salem NC. She also leaves two brothers Frank and Dennis Ludden of England. She was predeceased by a brother Thomas Ludden.

She is survived by a sister Mary Ann Kelmelis and her husband Patrick of Winchester, a brother John Jacob Bridges of Waterbury a niece Tara Mathieu and her husband Dan of Torrington and a nephew Lance Dopp.

died Sunday Feb. 8 at his home. He was born in Queens NY March 26, 1968 son of Carol (Huempfner) Baumann of Goshen and the late Alfred Baumann. He attended Goshen Center School and was a graduate of Wamogo High Class of 1986. He received his BA from WESCONN in English in 1995.
He served in The US Navy during The Persian Gulf Crisis, as a 3rd Class Fire Control Officer.
He was employed as an Editorial Assistant for Fine Woodworking Magazine.
He enjoyed woodworking and home improvement, and was an avid gardener.
He is survived by his mother Carol Baumann of Goshen and two sisters, Barbara Baumann of Bedminster NJ and Lisa Wolfe and her husband Anthony and their daughters Caroline and Eva of Dallastown PA.

died Thursday Jan. 22, 2004 at her home after a long illness. She was the wife of Peter Perlotto. She was born in Watertown Ct Sept. 12, 1950 daughter of the late Benson McGhee and Frances McGhee Moran.
She was employed as a private nurses assistant in Litchfield County for many years.
In addition to her husband, she leaves three sons, Robert McGhee and his partner Matt Boucher of Bridgeport, Terry Christiano and his wife Aubrey, and Gary Christiano and his wife Michele, of Torrington, and four stepchildren, Donna Caputi of Harwinton, Robin Gawrych of Torrington, Deirdre Cusati of Winchester, and Thomas Perlotto of Torrington. She also leaves two brothers, Gary McGhee of Virginia Beach VA and Evan Moran of Norfolk, and two sisters, Deborah Vega of New London and Holly Woodruff of North Granby, and several grandchildren.

She was retired from The Torrington Company. She was a Communicant of Saint Peter's Church and a member of their Holy Rosary Society.
She is survived by two daughters, Lorraine Avenia of Torrington and Lisa Parise and her husband Thomas Butler of Portland and grandchildren Mary Ann Topor, David Avenia, Ryan and Nicole Hurley, and 6 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by two brothers Livio and Alphonse Parise and a sister Olive Giramonti. She also leaves 2 nieces and 2 nephews.
