Winona Gould, 74, of Torrington
died Monday September 8 at Rose Haven LTD in Litchfield.
She was the wife of the late Beecher Davis Gould, Jr. Born in Harwinton July 22, 1929 daughter of the late Louis and Lillian (Rowe) Tibbals, she had resided in the Torrington-Harwinton area for many years and also lived in Bethany for several years.
She formerly owned The Falls Village Inn and had worked as a waitress in several area restaurants for most of her life.
She is survived by a son, John E. Godenzi and a daughter Gwen Godenzi of Torrington and a step son Grant Gould of Madison and step daughter Elizabeth Beals of Waterford. She also leaves a brother, Louis Tibbals Jr of Harwinton and a sister Elizabeth Bosley of Winsted, and 5 grandchildren.
She was predeceased by a daughter Cheryl Godenzi and her former husband John Godenzi.
Funeral Services will be held on Friday Sept 12 at 10 AM at Phalen Funeral Home 285 Migeon Ave. Torrington with Rev Linda Stein Pastor of First United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Winchester Center Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 PM.

Thomas J. Szostek, 57, of 31 Woodbine St. Torrington
died Wednesday Sept 3 at his home. He was born in Torrington Nov.23, 1945 son of the late Frank C, and Susan ( Jankowski) Szostek. He was a graduate of Torrington High School and he served as a Sergeant in The US Army during Vietnam. He was employed by The city of Torrington as a Custodian in the school system for 23 years.
He was a bugler for The Vagabonds, and also served as their flag bearer in parades. An avid bowler , he was active with duckpin bowling, he also enjoyed fishing. He was a member of VFW Post 38.
He is survived by his sister, Johanna Buckley of Torrington and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday Sept 6 at 10:00 AM at New St. Francis Cemetery with Rev. Elaine Golden officiating.

Anna Spiegelhalter, 85, of Torrington
died Saturday Aug 30 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late Harold F. Spiegelhalter. Born in Torrington, March 24, 1918 daughter of the late Frank and Catherine (Hayostek) Baier, she was retired from The Excelsior Plant of The Torrington Company. She was a life long member of Sacred Heart Church.
She is survived by a son, Ronald Spiegelhalter and his wife Diane of Milford, and four grandchildren. She also leaves a sister in law Betty Spiegelhalter of Torrington.

Winifred Irene Sennott O'Donnell, 96, of 35 Luther St Torrington
of 35 Luther St Torrington died Thursday Dec 4 at Wolcott Hall. She was the wife of the late Eugene E O'Donnell. Born in Newport NH Dec 10, 1906 she was a graduate of Torrington High School class of 1925. She attended Hartford Hospital Nursing School and was an LPN at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital in Torrington. Active in Ecumenical activities she was a member of Calvary Baptist Church since 1920, and was a member of The Womens Federation at church and a member of the Church Women United.
She was predeceased by her son Robert O'Donnell. She is survived by her daughter in law, Rev Edith O'Donnell of Windsor and 3 grandsons, William O'Donnell and his wife Margo of Ellenville NY, Jeffrey O'Donnell of Terryville, and Mark O'Donnell and his wife Martha of Windsor, and great grandson Liam O'Donnell of Windsor. She also leaves a brother Dr. Waldron Sennott of Baltimore MD and several nieces and nephews.

Edward D. Pont, 75, of 81 Brynmoor Court,Goshen
died peacefully surrounded by his family Dec. 3 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Marietta ( Ciesco) Pont. Born in Collinsville Dec 28, 1927 son of the late Herbert and Ellen ( Woodworth) Pont.
He attended Bryant College and was employed by The Torrington Company for 40 years.
He enjoyed his family, sports, and music and was a communicant of Saint Peter's Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his daughter Kathy Fazzalaro and her husband Michael of Avon, and step daughters Karen Ives of Torrington and Charlene Dutka and her husband Edward of Goshen and 5 grandchildren, Joshua and Melissa Ives, Shannon Fazzalaro, and David and Drew Dutka and two great grandchildren Paul and Sam Gill. He also leaves a brother Kenneth Pont, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his first wife Bernice (Teichert) Pont, a son Michael Pont and step son Edward "Ned" Ives and a brother Thomas Pont.

died Nov 27 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Maine July 15 1947 daughter of Priscilla Bouchard of Caribou ME and the late Edwin Bouchard, she was formerly employed by The Brunswick Corp., CVS, and Stop and Shop.
She is survived by a daughter Tina Serasio of Santa Monica CA, a sister Julie Rilva of Florida and a brother Daniel Bouchard of Arkansas and her mother of Maine.

Elizabeth Karpinski, 90, of 434 Brightwood Ave. Torrington
died Saturday Jan. 17 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. She was the wife of the late John Karpinski. Born in Torrington March 23, 1913 daughter of the late Karl and Mary (Zimmermann) Wothmann, she was a life long Torrington resident. She was employed by The Torrington Company, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Saint Paul's Lutheran Church, St Paul's Church Retiree's Club, and Theresa Lodge Order of The Sons of Hermann, The Sullivan Senior Center and AARP.
She is survived by nieces and nephews.

William Culbert Reed, 79, of Torrington
died peacefully Jan 17, 2004. Born in Bangor ME. Jan 24, 1924 he was the son of the late Edgar and Lillian Richardson Reed, he lived most of his life in Connecticut. He worked as an architect before his retirement.
He is survived by a son Richard Reed of Portland ME, and two daughters, Brenda Reed of Torrington and Betsy Twitchell of Burlington, several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Marjorie Adele Saunders, 77, of 97 Benham St Torrington
died Tuesday March 9 in Torrington. Born in Torrington Nov. 24, 1926 she was the daughter of the late Russell and Alma (Campbell) Patterson. She attended Torrington Schools and Hartford Hospital School of Nursing and was an RN, working for The Brooker Memorial in Torrington and also for Winsted Memorial Hospital. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and also was a past president of The Torcon Women's Club.
She is survived by her son , Robert L. Saunders and his wife Rene of East Windsor and a granddaughter Diana Blake. She also leaves a brother, Irving Patterson of Jupiter FL and a sister Eva Johnson of Fort Meyers, FL.

died Monday March 8 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. Born in Torrington Dec. 4, 1930 daughter of the late Walter and Carrie ( Dearing) Decker.
She was formerly employed by The Sullivan Senior Center.
Known for her artistic talents, and decorating abilities, she was a still life portrait painter.
She was a member of Center Congregational Church.
She is survived by her daughter Kim Bickford and her husband Gerald and a son Todd Bonasera and his wife Hui of Torrington and grandchildren Ashley and Elliott Bickford and Lee Bonasera, and 4 great grandchildren.
She also leaves two sisters, Elsie Florio and Barbara Kuhn of Torrington and a brother Charles Decker of Longmeadow MA.

Susan Nase Gorr, 64, of 66 Chatam Lane Torrington
died Saturday March 6 as a result of a motor vehicle accident. She was the wife of the late Ronald James Gorr. Born in Thomaston Dec. 22, 1939 , she attended Waterbury Hospital School of Nursing. She was a LPN and had worked at Chesire Convalescent Home, Meriden-Wallingford Convalsecent Home and Valerie Manor. Most recently she was employed by The State of Connecticut DMR in Torrington.
She leaves beheind two children, Ronna Gorr Gero and Kurt Gorr of Torrington and 5 grandchildren, Kyle, Bryan, and Aundraya Gero and Lucas and Matthew Gorr, and a brother Sherwood Nase of Arlington VT and sister Barbara Buttafuso of Vernon.

Lawrence O'Donnell, 83, of Torrington
died Tuesday Sept 28 at Cherry Brook Health Care in Canton. He was the husband of the late Mae (Carmell) O'Donnell. Born in Woonsocket RI May 31, 1921, he lived winters in Sebastian FL and summers in Torrington. He was employed by Warrenton Woolen Mills for many years before his retirement, and had served in The US Army during WWII.
He is survived by his daughter, Darlene Robinson and her husband Kurt of Torrington, a granddaughter Becky Curtis of Thomaston, and grandson Christopher Robinson of Torrington and 1 gr. granddaughter and 2 gr grandsons. He also leaves his sister Edna Pereault of Rhode Island.

Randel J. Schmidt, 60, of Neidt Rd Ext. in Harwinton
died Friday Sept. 24 at Haven Health Care in Torrington after a 15 year struggle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born in Torrington July 24, 1944 son of the late Henry J and Adele (Rosenbeck) Schmidt. He was a Harwinton resident for the past 3 years, moving from Virginia. He was a self employed carpenter, and a guitar player and singer of Country-Western music.
He is survived by two daughters, Jeannine Luhrs and her husband Brian of Charlotte NC, and Denise Adam and her husband Jeffrey of Port Washington NY and grandchildren Adam and Eric Luhrs and Ariel Adam.
He also leaves a brother William Schmidt of Harwinton and three sisters Beverly Brochu of Torrington, Virginia Mombourquette of Woodbridge VA, and Kathy MacDonald of New Britain, as well as two former wives, Diane Kosko and Beatrice Wilcox. He was predeceased by an infant son Jamie Schmidt.

died Sunday Jan 2, 2005 at Wolcott Hall. Born in Torrington Oct. 14, 1918 she was the daughter of the late Clorindo and Frances (Guillou) Barella. She was employed by Cigna for 28 years, retiring in 1979.
She was an avid bingo and card player.
She is survived by two brothers, Frank Barella of Plattsburgh NY and Clorindo Barella of New Hartford, several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters Emma Smith, Rosemary Hall, Catherine and Levia Barella and brothers Ernest and Richard Barella.

Edward G. Fulop Sr. 73, of 52 Willow Street Torrington
died Tuesday Dec. 28 at his home. He was the husband of Jean (Ellis) Fulop. Born in Torrington Nov. 19, 1931 son of the late John and Ruth ( Douyard) Fulop, he attended Saint Francis School and graduated from Torrington High School. He was a long time employee of Doyle's Pharmacy in Torrington and later worked at Big Value in Bantam.
He was a long time Little League coach and also coached Varsity Alumni League and Young Men\'s League basketball He was a member of The Valley Park Athletic Club and also belonged to Sullivan Senior Center. He was also a big fan of PAL basketball played by his granddaughter and his grandson\'s soccer and volleyball teams.
In addition to his wife, he leaves two daughters, Deb Casey and her husband Bill and Tina Hazzard and her husband James, of Torrington and a son Edward Fulop Jr and his wife Barbara of South Windsor, and grandchildren Andrew Fulop, Caitlyn Hazzard, and Billy and Julie Casey. He also leaves two brothers Roger Fulop of Oregon and Thomas Fulop of Plainville and two sisters, Doris Frauenhofer off Nevada and Betty Holloway of Warwick RI.
He was predeceased by two brothers, John and James Fulop.

Joseph L. Boucher, 73, of Garden St Torrington
died December 24 2004 at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital. He was the husband of Marie (Satti) Boucher.
Born in Euclid OH, June 21, 1931 son of the late Leo and Helen (White) Boucher, he was a graduate of Saint Ann's School and attended Crosby High in Waterbury. He enlisted in The US Air Force in 1948 and served until 1953.
He was employed for 36 years by CL&P in Waterbury, serving as a lineman and later as a supervisor, retiring in 1989. He was an avid baseball and basketball player in his younger years and he loved the game of golf, and was a member of Eastwoods Country Club. He was also an active member of The First United Methodist Church.
In addition to his wife, he leaves three sons, Brian Boucher of Stamford, Alan Boucher and Kevin Boucher of Naugatuck, and two daughters, Doreen Fabro of Torrington and Sharon Marek of Chasta MN. He also leaves two brothers, Conrad Boucher of Naugatuck and Ronald Boucher of Bethlehem, and a sister Mary Ann Frenette of Watertown, 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.
