Cecil LeRoy Estes
March 2nd, 2004
Cecil LeRoy Estes, age 88, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Tuesday evening, March 2, 2004, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. He was born in Hughesville, Missouri, on August 19, 1915, the son of Cecil and Beulah Leech Estes.
He grew up in Sedalia, Missouri, and was there united in marriage to Opal Gehlken in 1935. They made their home in Sedalia until moving to Kansas City, Kansas, in the mid 50's. They lived there for about twenty years before moving to the Blue Branch Development near Warsaw in 1972.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Kenneth Estes, of Warsaw, and J. W. Estes, of the state of California.
LeRoy is a Past Master of Old Mission Lodge in Shawnee Mission, Kansas, and was a member of several lodges in Missouri and Kansas including Shawnee Lodge #653 A. F. & A. M. in Warsaw. He was also a member of the Osage Valley Chapter #502 of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Kansas City Valley of the Scottish Rite, the Benton County Scottish Rite Club in Warsaw, the Arrarat Shrine in Kansas City, and the Warsaw Shrine Club.
LeRoy is survived by his wife, Opal, of the home, one daughter, Jo Susan Woloscsuk, of Overland Park, Kansas, two grandsons, Chris Kern, of Roeland Park, Kansas, and Gary Kern, of Kansas City, Kansas, two great-grandsons, Patrick & Chance Kern, two sisters, Anabelle Carson of Otterville, Missouri, and Lois Arnold, of Sedalia.
Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday afternoon, March 5, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Richard Anthony officiating, to be followed by Masonic Rites that will be performed by the Officers and Members of Shawnee Masonic Lodge. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M. prior to the services at the funeral home. Cremation. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Scottish Rite Aphasia Program in care of the funeral home.
Janet Hank

Janet Elaine Estes Hank, age 67, passed away Monday, July 12, 2004, at her home in Grandview Beach development near Warsaw. She was born August 13, 1936, in Kansas City, Kansas, the daughter of Forrest and Nelle Estes, who preceded her in death.
She was raised in Liberty, Missouri and Graduated from Liberty High School in the class of 1954. On March 13, 1955, she was united in marriage to David Engel Hank. They made their home in Liberty until moving to their home in Grandview Beach to raise their two children.
She enjoyed camping and attending Native American Cultural Events. She was a member and past Assistant State Director of the Good Sam Club, an RV owners organization.
She is survived by her husband David, of the home, one son, Douglas D. Hank, of Kansas City, Missouri, one daughter, Phyllis Janine Hank, of Grandview, Missouri, one grandson, Gunther Egan Hank Ruckman, and one sister, Judy Kellogg, of Gilbert, Arizona, other relatives and many friends.
Cremation. Memorial services for Janet Hank will be held at a later date. Memorials in honor of her life can be made to Twin Lakes Hospice, in care of Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Dorothy H. Flippin

Dorothy H. Flippin, age 83, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 30, 2004, at the Warsaw Health & Rehabilitation Center in Warsaw, Missouri. She was born in Benton County, Missouri, on November 19, 1920, the daughter of James C. and Beulah E. Kirby Brown.
She grew up in the Warsaw area and spent most of her life in this community. She was trained as a Licensed Practical Nurse and was one of the original staff at the Oakhaven Manor Nursing Home in Warsaw, first started by Dr. E. L. Rhodes and his family.
Dorothy Flippin was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Deleane Hammond, of Leavenworth, Kansas.
She is survived by one daughter, Judy Gaylord, two sons, Joe Flippin and Charles Flippin, all of Warsaw, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one brother, James V. Brown, of Holland, Texas, other relatives and many friends.
Grave Side Funeral Services and Burial will be at 10:30 A.M. Saturday morning at the Riverside Cemetery in Warsaw with Rev. Richard Anthony officiating. No Visitation. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Genevieve Drake

Genevieve Drake, age 93, of North Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, June 29, 2004 at Big Ben Retreat in Slater, Missouri. She was born on July 21, 1910, at Warsaw, the daughter of Basil John and Myrza Blandin Daniel Drake. Her mother died when she was 8 years old and she then went to life in the home of her Aunt and Uncle, Abbie and Robert Hudson.
She graduated from Warsaw High School in 1929 as valedictorian of her class. She attended Missouri Valley College in Marshall, Central Misouri State Teachers College in Warrensburg and received her BS in Education from the University of Missouri-Columbia. She did graduate work at the University of Missouri in Columbia and Kansas City. She received a Master’s Degree from Teachers College, Columbia University in New York, NY.
She taught school for 41 years, the last twenty-five being in second grade for North Kansas City Schools She had previously taught at Warsaw and at rural schools in Benton, Camden, Hickory and Linn Counties. She retired from teaching in 1975.
She enjoyed traveling and had seen all the 50 states, plus Canada, Europe and Mexico.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, North Kansas City, a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma, the Clay County DAR and the Clay-Platte Retired Teachers Association.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and one sister.
Surviving are several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Genevieve Drake will be at 2:30 P.M., Friday, July 2, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Dr. Diana Loomis officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:30 P.M, Friday prior to the services. Zelma May Kinder

Zelma May Kinder, age 78, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away early Monday morning, June 28, 2004, at the Carroll County Memorial Hospital in Carrollton, Missouri. She was born in Ray County, Missouri, on July 24, 1925, the daughter of Robert William and Flora Bell West Butler.
She grew up in Ray County. As a young woman she had worked at the Fred Harvey Restaurant at Union Station in Kansas City. During World War II she worked at the Pratt & Whitney Defense Plant in Kansas City. She then worked for the Con Agra plant in Carrollton, Missouri, retiring in the mid 1980's with over twenty years of employment.
Following her retirement she had made her home near Warsaw, and she kept herself busy enjoying the great outdoor of the Missouri Ozarks. Every November was an opportunity to go deer hunting. Other times of the year were spent bird watching, or fishing Truman Lake and the Lake of the Ozarks. And many Saturday evenings were spent playing BINGO at the Warsaw Shrine Club.
In 1944 she was married to Frantz Crumpacker. Unto this union two sons were born, Gene Crumpacker, of Carrollton, Missouri, and Ronald Crumpacker, of Lisle, Illinois. On December 23, 1953, she was married to Bruce H. Kinder. They had two daughters, Brenda Cartee and her fiancé, Gary Austin, of Carrollton, and Bonnie Hickson, and her husband, Don, of Kansas City, Missouri. She is also survived by two grandchildren, Larry Cartee and Danielle Cartee, both of Carrollton, one great-granddaughter, Jasmine B. Mae Bennett. Other survivors include one sister, Ethel Maude Teegarden, of Knoxville, Missouri, one aunt, Maggie Estes, of Richmond, Missouri, several cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Estel Butler, of Knoxville, Missouri, and her twin sister, Thelma Fay Knutter, of Warsaw.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday morning at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Morris Meseke officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home prior to the services. Committal Services and Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. Friday afternoon at the Carroll County Memory Gardens Cemetery in Carrollton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Shriner’s Crippled Children Fund at the Warsaw Shrine Club.
Mary L. Harms

Mary L. Harms, age 74, of Fristoe, Missouri, passed away Monday, June 28, 2004, at her ranch East of Fristoe. She was born on January 23, 1930, in Benton County, Southeast of Lincoln, Missouri, the daughter of George and Willie Gardner Harms.
Her mother passed away when she was ten years old and she was raised by her Aunt Faye Gardner Ward and her husband Rev. Irvin E. Ward in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She graduated from State Fair Community College where she was in the LPN Class. She worked in the nursing field most of her life working at the Health Department in Colorado Springs in Dr. Cogswell’s dental office, night shift supervisor at Lincoln, Cole Camp and Warsaw nursing homes and at the Windsor Hospital.
She enjoyed working in the yard, her horses, and or course, her dogs and cats.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Ed Harms, of Lincoln, Winfred Harms, of Shannondoah, Iowa, and one sister, Laverne Harms.
She is survived by two brothers, Denver Harms and Lawrence Harms, both of Lincoln.
She was connected to the Church of God, Independent Holiness people all of her life.
Grave side services and interment
for Mary L. Harms will be held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, July, 1, 2004 at the Fristoe Cemetery in Fristoe, Missouri, with Rev. Raymond Heyer, officiating. Pallbearers will be John W. Fairweather, III, Jason Fairweather, James Hawley, Doug Harms, Mitchel Harms and Brad Harms. Visitation will be held from 12:00 to 1:00 Thursday, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Benton County Hospice or the American Cancer Society is suggested.
Robert L. Ponder

Robert L. Ponder, age 62, of Deepwater, Missouri, passed away Monday evening, June 28, 2004, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri, on February 19, 1942, the son of Carl and Ruth Lyday Ponder.
At the age of two he moved with his family to Kansas City and graduated from Turner High School in the class of 1960. On June 12, 1964, he was united in marriage to Laurel Jean Barnett at the Roanoke Baptist Church in Kansas City, Missouri. They first made their home in Kansas City and then in Muncie, Kansas, where he worked with Ed Patton Realtors and Barney-Ashner Realtor in Johnson County, Kansas area. He then started CountrySide Homes, constructing custom homes in and around Johnson County.
In 1971 they moved to Stilwell, Kansas, where he started a company making Bass-Hustler Lures. He was a regular on the professional bass fishing circuit fishing tournaments throughout the mid-west and attracting corporate sponsors like Ford, Ranger Boats and Uncle Josh. He held many fishing seminars for kids at sport shows and boat shows demonstrating his professional touch to the children around the casting tanks.
In 1995 they moved to their home near Deepwater, Missouri. He then started CountrySide Cabinets near Hartwell, Missouri, building custom cabinets for many homes in the area.
Robert is survived by his wife, Laruel, of the home, one daughter, Debra Parkey, of Deepwater, Missouri, and one son, R. Jeffery Ponder and his wife, Kara, of Stilwell, Kansas. He is also survived by two grandchildren, AshLee Carlsen and Lauryn Ponder, his mother, Mrs. Ruth Lyday, of Doniphan, Missouri, three brothers, Charles Ponder, of Hollywood, Florida, Dennis Ponder, of Sikeston, Missouri, and David Ponder, of Olathe, Kansas, one sister, Sue Hill, of Doniphan, Missouri, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, July 1, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri, with Rev. Dan Lehman officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Robert L. Burton, Sr.

Robert L. Burton, Sr., age 79, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, June 17, 2004, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born on April 11, 1925, at Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Albert and Carrie Argo Burton, Sr.
He grew up in Kansas City, Missouri and on January 29, 1943, he was united in marriage to Mary K. Younger. Following their marriage, they made their home in Kansas City, later moving to Blue Springs, Oak Grove, Bates City and Concordia. Unto this union, three sons and one daughter were born. Their daughter, Carrie Lee, died when she was only three days old.
On September 6, 1944, he was inducted into the United States Navy, serving during World War II. He was honorably discharged on February 22, 1946.
He returned to the Kansas City area and worked as a night shift supervisor for Certain-Teed Roofing Company for 25 years. Following his retirement, they moved to North Shore Resort near Warsaw and then to Bent Tree Harbor in 1995. While living in Warsaw, he was a Security Guard for Bent Tree Harbor for 18 years.
He was of the Baptist faith. He was a life-time member of the V.F.W. Post # 8100 and the Masonic Lodge of Kansas City.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary, on June 6, 1997, two brothers and two sisters.
He is survived by three sons, Robert L. Burton, Jr., and his wife, Edna, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, William Burton and his wife, Nita, of Corder, Missouri and Bud Burton, and his wife, Sondra, of Windsor, 8 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Robert L. Burton, Sr., will be at 1:30 P.M., Saturday, June 19, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Bill Hix officiating. Elva Mae Hickman

Elva Mae Hickman, age 87, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away Sunday morning, June 13, 2004, at the New Mark Care Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on the family farm S. E. of Warsaw, Missouri, on June 23, 1916, the youngest of seven children , with five brothers and one sister, born to Pink and Mettie Elva Salley Short.
In March of 1936 she was united in marriage to Harry Lee Hickman in Springfield, Missouri. They lived in Wheatland, Missouri, for seven years except for two short periods living in Redland, California.. In 1943 she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, and there went to work for Lawrence Traffic Bureau as a typist. She became President and owner of the same business in August of 1968.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Warsaw. She was a member of Osage Valley Chapter #502 of the Order of the Easter Star in Warsaw, the Heart of America Riding Club, Women’s Traffic Club of Greater Kansas City, Zonta Club I of Kansas City (an International Service Organization), and the Women’s Chamber of Commerce of Kansas City.
Elva Mae is survived by three nieces, Marjorie Fetterhoff, of Tempe, Arizona, Elizabeth Short, of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Merilyn Fanjul, of the state of Arizona, three nephews, Merton D. “Buster” Short, of the state of California, Vaughn Hopkins, of Sacramento, California, and Jimmie Hopkins of Bella Vista, Arkansas, sixteen great-nieces & nephews, twenty-two, great-great-nieces & nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday morning, June 16, 2004, at the Parklawn Funeral Home in Kansas City, Missouri, with a visitation one hour prior to the services at 9:00 A.M. at Parklawn. Bonnie Boring

Bonnie Boring, age 67, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday morning at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. She was born on October 1, 1936, in Lincoln, Missouri, the daughter of Theodore and Leota Kelb Fischer.
She grew up in Lincoln and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1954.
On January 10, 1954, she was married to Robert E. Boring at the Lincoln United Methodist Church. They lived for a short time in St. Louis, Missouri, but most of their married life was spent in Warsaw. Unto this union, two sons, and one daughter were born.
Bonnie was a helpmate to her husband and with him they owned and operated the Boring’s Drug Store in Warsaw from 1957 until retiring in March of this year. In January of this year, Bob and Bonnie celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their home with their family and many friends. She was a devoted mom and grandmother and was always there for her children in anyway she could be. Bonnie was a caring neighbor and friend to all and could always be counted on when one was in need.
She was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Warsaw.
She was preceded in death by her father, Theodore Fischer in December of 1994.
Surviving is her husband, Bob, of the home, two sons, Andrew Boring and his wife, Deborah, of Liberty, Missouri, Matthew and Melissa Boring of Naperville, Illinois and a daughter, Sarah Wynn and her husband, Doug, of Lonoke, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Belinda, Nicholas, Adam, Ashley, Katie and Cedric. Also surviving is her mother, Leota Fischer, of Lincoln, a brother, Lester Fischer of Galena, Missouri, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Bonnie Boring will be at 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, June 15, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home with Fr. Richard Colbert officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Alvin L. Thorpe, Sr.

Alvin L. Thorpe, Sr., of Pittsburg, Missouri, passed away June 8, 2004 at the Saint John’s Hospital, in Springfield, Missouri. He was born on March 10, 1951, in Moberly, Missouri, the son of John and Ella Parrish Thorpe.
He is survived by his wife, Grace Thorpe, eight children, Alvin Jr., Nancy, Tracy, Dennis, Todd, James, Linda and Brandy, sixteen grandchildren, three brothers, Charles Thorpe and his wife Nancy, of Renick, Missouri, Harry Thorpe and his wife Hazel, of Moberly, Missouri, and Larry Thorpe and his wife Jeanne of Cairo, Missouri, five sisters, Betty Gothard of Moberly, Missouri, Bertha Heathman of Blue Springs, Missouri, Margie Cruthfield of Huntsville, Missouri, Vickie and her husband Tom of Chicago, Illinois, and Nancy Debevon of Moberly, Missouri.
He is preceded in death by Dorothy Lepper, Jim Thorpe, John Thorpe, Mildred Stoebe, Robert Thorpe. He is also preceded in death by a daughter, April Thorpe and a sister in law, Beverly Thorpe.
Memorial Services will be held on Friday, June 11, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at the Reser Funeral Home, with Rev. Walter Admire, officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m.
Leona Whittle

Leona Mae Phillips Hicks Clark Whittle, age 90, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, passed away, Monday, August 30, 2004, at her home.
She was born November 19, 1913, at Eugene, Missouri, the daughter of Theodore and Elizabeth Phillips. She was born again at the age of 17 and became a member of the Enon Baptist Church.
She was united in marriage to James W. Clark on June 10, 1937. She worked at Macy’s Department Store for 13 ½ years in Kansas City Missouri and retired to Warsaw, Missouri.
In 1994 she was united in marriage to Lloyd Whittle and they lived in Eldon, Missouri.
She moved to Pleasant Hill in 2001.
She was preceded in death by her husbands James W. Clark and Lloyd Whittle, three daughters, Betty Darlene Clark, Ester A. Allen Burton and Sandra K. Palmgren, one great grandchild, Katherine Palmgren and three brothers, Logan, Wes, and Millard Phillips.
She is survived by one daughter, Florence O’Pantry, of Chico, California, five grandchildren Denise Gulley, of Pleasant Hill, Missouri, Donald Palmgren, of Clinton, Missouri, Bobby Allen, of Lincoln, Missouri, Kimberly Harper, of Clinton, Missouri and Fred Allen, of Chicago, Illinois, fourteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandbaby.
Grandma had a passion in her life for quilting and a great love and devotion for her family and friends.

Robert V. Menke

Robert V. Menke age 69, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, August 30, 2004 at his home in Warsaw. He was born on December 11, 1934, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Vincent and Marie Lemear Menke.
He grew up and lived in St. Louis for most of his younger years. On January 9, 1954 he was united in marriage to Joan Layton, making their home in St. Louis. They moved to Kansas City, Missouri in 1960, where Robert worked for 20 years at Inner City, Manufacturer, as a Bookbinder, and later retiring from Harmony Manufacturer in 1995. After retirement, Robert and Joan moved to Warsaw, Missouri.
He was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son John Joseph Menke.
Robert, is survived by his wife Joan, of the home; three sons, David Layton and his wife Cindi, of Raymore, Missouri, James Menke and his wife, Patti, of Scottsdale, AZ. and Jerome Menke, and his wife Carol, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, two daughters, Jeannie Jackman, and her husband Roger, of Olatha, KS and Julie Hansen of Warsaw, Missouri. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn Naes, and her husband, Oscar, of Florida and Linda Favor, of St. Louis, Missouri and nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Mass for Robert V. Menke will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, September 3, 2004 at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Warsaw, with Fr. Richard Colbert, officiating. Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions to be made to the St. Ann’s Catholic Church of Warsaw. There will be a visitation one hour prior the funeral mass starting at 10:00 A.M. until funeral time at 11:00 A.M.
Dickie Ray Flippin

Dickie Ray Flippin, age 67, of Warsaw, passed away after a long illness, Tuesday, August 24, 2004, at the St. Joseph’s Health Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born in Warsaw on February 14, 1937, the son of Floyd and Cecil Tolliver Flippin.
On May 28, 1955, in Warsaw, he was united in marriage to Virginia Lee Young. They made their home in Warsaw and unto this union one son and two daughters were born.
Dick lived all his life in Warsaw where he drove a truck for awhile and then went to work for Reinhart Fajen where he was a gunstock carver for over twenty years. In 1999 he retired for health reasons.
Dick enjoyed the outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman all of his life. He also loved to trade guns. He was a member of New Home Baptist Church.
He leaves behind his wife of forty-nine years, Virginia, one son, Michael, and two daughters, Susan and Kim, all of Warsaw. He also leaves his brother-in-law, Kenneth Young, Jr., and his wife Barbara, of Leeton, Missouri, three nephews, many great nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He will be sadly missed by all of his family and friends.
Funeral services for Dickie Ray Flippin will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. Harold Shull, officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Penny Kay Reish, age 56, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday morning, August 24, 2004, at her home in Warsaw. She was born on December 18, 1947, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of Arthur & Bertha Beck Hebron, Sr.
She grew up in the Des Moines area and graduated from Saydel High School. On November 1, 1968, she was united in marriage to Gary Reish, in Bethany, Missouri. They made their home in Osceola, Iowa, where she help her husband run the Reish Trucking Company as well as work the family farm, for many years. In 1983 they moved to Mitchellville, Iowa, where she was employed at Archer Television.
In May of 1998, they moved to Warsaw, where her and her husband owned and operated the Wood Shed as long as her health allowed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, two sisters, Shirley Felice and Joyce Kilstaff, two brothers, Arthur Hebron, Jr. and Bobby Hebron.
She is survived by her husband Gary, of the home, two sons, Brian Devore, of Clinton, Misssouri, and Greg Reish, of Playa Del Rey, California, one daughter Brenda Bridge, of Playa Del Rey, California, one sister Mary Kirkwood, of Ankeny, Iowa, and two grandsons Devon and Ryan, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Penny Reish, will be held at 1:00 P.M.,Friday, August 27, 2004, at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, Missouri, with burial to be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, August 28, 2004 at the Mapel Hill Cemetery, in Osceola, Iowa. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw.
M. Alma Crabtree
August 17th, 2004
M. Alma Crabtree, age 94, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Tuesday morning, August 17, 2004, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. She was born at Wisdom, Missouri, near Warsaw, on September 28, 1909, the daughter of James and Emma Scott Suiter.
She grew up in the Wisdom community and attended Freedom Grade School and Warsaw High School. She taught in one-room schools in Benton County and St. Clair County.
On March 15, 1937 she was united in marriage to Woodrow Crabtree. To this union four children were born. In 1948 the family moved to Kansas City to place the children in school. She and her children were left alone in 1951 and remained in Kansas City where she was working.
She worked at a grocery store, What-So-Ever Community Center, and Western Contracting until 1954. For the next twenty years she was employed in office work at Redman Manufacturing which was later owned by Crown Zellerbach. After retiring from there she worked at Blue Valley Federal Savings & Loan for two years.
She professed her faith in Christ at church held at the Freedom school house at an early age and reaffirmed her stronger faith in God at a tent meeting at Wisdom held on her dad’s property. While living at Wisdom she attended the Church of God and also attended the Church of God in Kansas City until the church moved from her community in 1970. After that she attended services at the Salvation Army Corps of Blue Valley until moving back to Warsaw.
Most of all Alma was a loving mother who devoted all of her last Sixty-Six years in the tender loving care of her four children.
Alma was preceded in death by her mother, Emma Suiter in 1944, her father James Suiter in 1968, a sister, Ida Suiter Stull in 1946, a brother Earl Suiter in 1970, a second brother, Allie Suiter in 1980, and a second sister, Sylvia Suiter Green in 1992.
She is survived by all of her four children Duane K. Crabtree, Nina C. Crabtree Faux, Denver W. Crabtree and Mollie L. Crabtree. all of Warsaw, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

From the depth of my heart to my children, loved ones and friends who survive me: “I hope everyone meets me in Heaven.” I write these words with tears in my eyes and do trust my dear children and loved ones will live here on earth a faithful life so all can meet in Heaven for the eternal hereafter. Juanita M. Bentch

Juanita May Bentch, age 82, of Edwards, passed away Tuesday morning, August 17, 2004, at Lake of the Ozarks Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. She was born on December 14, 1922, at Sagrada, Missouri, the last of seven children and the only daughter of T.R. and Leona May Shockley Jones.
She grew up in Sagrada and graduated from Climax Springs High School in 1941.
On March 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to Hugh Bentch near Lebanon, Missouri. They made their home on a farm in the Cable Ridge Community near Edwards all of their married life and raised their family of two daughters.
Juanita was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was always caring for her family. Up until her illness, she received great joy caring for her great-grandchildren. She was a talented seamstress and enjoyed working in the garden.
She was a faithful member of the Cable Ridge Church of Christ.
Juanita was preceded in death by her six brothers, Walter, Arthur, Charley, Earl, Cletus and Jewell Jones.
Surviving is her husband of 58 years, Hugh, of the home, two daughters, Donna Sue Bentch of Edwards and Doris Thomas, and her husband, Larry, also of Edwards, two grandchildren, Tim Thomas and his wife, Tammy, of Edwards and Tamara Thomas of Springfield, two great-grandchildren, Allison and Jared Thomas, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Juanita May Bentch will be at 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 20, 2004, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Brother Ronnie Wade officiating. Burial will be in Cable Ridge Cemetery, near Edwards. Pallbearers will be Donnie Davis, Adam Robert, Bill Bentch, Jim Bentch, Elmer Boggs and Ray Grider. No Visitation. Mabel F. Boring
August 16th, 2004
Mabel Frances Boring, age 78, of Warsaw, passed away Monday, August 16, 2004 at the Warsaw Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on January 15, 1926, in Shawnee Bend, near Warsaw, the daughter of Bert and Grace Etta Thurman Fergerson.
She attended the one room school at Shawnee Bend for eight years and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1944. On April 27, 1947, she was married to Denzel Daniel Boring.
She worked in the Kansas City War Plant for two years until World War II ended. She then moved back to Warsaw and started a teaching career. After nine years in a one room school she started in the elementary schools and was a teacher for thirty-three years and followed that up as a substitute for another nine years. During that time, she also worked with her husband, Denzel, as they owned and operated the Davis Paint Associate Store on Main Street in Warsaw and the Boring American Family Insurance Agency for twenty-six years. She was also President of Boring’s Country Estates and A+ Storage. She had earned her B.S. in Elementary Education and a Masters Degree from Central Missouri State University.
Mabel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ at an early age and was a faithful servant in her church. She served as a pianist for her home Community Church and the Warsaw Assembly of God Church. In 1968 she joined the First Baptist Church of Warsaw where she was a faithful member as long as her health permitted. She served in various positions over the years including working with the youth, member of Keystone Sunday School class, Sunshine Sunday School class, Secretary and Treasure of the Keenagers, Secretary and Treasure of WMU, and a member of the Church Choir.
She was also very active in the community where she was a member of VFW Post #5894 Ladies Auxiliary and TOPS and helped in 4-H Clubs. She also enjoyed traveling, reading and being with her family, especially her three grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Denzel, in 1995, and one brother, Allen Fergerson.
She is survived by two daughters, Rebecca Pickens, and her husband Bill, and Roberta Schnakenberg, and her husband Jim, all of Warsaw, three grandchildren, Kiela Ast, and her husband, Lucas, Kristen Hill, and her husband, Kenneth, and Kurt Schnakenberg, one great-grandson, Xander Ast. She is also survived by two brothers, J.B. Fergerson, of Kansas City, Missouri, and Orla Fergerson, of Raytown, Missouri, several nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Funeral services for Mabel F. Boring will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday, August 19, 2004 at the First Baptist Church in Warsaw, with Rev. Barry Edwards and Dr. Larry Nail, officiating. Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Funeral Home. Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice or the First Baptist Church of Warsaw Elevator Fund in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Boring, Robert E.
August 14th, 2004
Robert E. Boring, age 72, of Warsaw, passed away Saturday morning, August 14, 2004, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was born on March 3, 1932, at Warsaw, the son of Edwin Eugene and Lois M. Davis Boring.
He grew up in Warsaw and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1949. He attended Drury College in Springfield for 2 years and then went to St. Louis where he graduated from St. Louis Pharmacy School in 1956.
On January 10, 1954, he was united in marriage to Bonnie Fischer at the Lincoln United Methodist Church in Lincoln, Missouri. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw where unto this union, two sons and one daughter were born.
On November 3, 1953, he was inducted into the United States Army and served overseas in the Korean Conflict. He was honorably discharged in August 17, 1955.
Bob and Bonnie owned and operated the Boring’s Drug Store from 1957 until retirement this year. They were very dedicated to this community and the people they served. Bob was “on-call” 24-7 and could be found late at night in his house shoes filling a prescription for someone in need. There were countless times he gave out medicine knowing that he would never get compensated for it. He was a civic leader and a generous contributor to this community. He was always supporting the organizations and fund raisers that were taking place around the community.
Bob was a member of the St. Ann’s Catholic Church and member of the Jay Harris Council of the Knights of Columbus, He was a long-time member of the Board of Directors of the Osage Valley Bank of Warsaw, a member of the V.F.W. Post #5894 of Warsaw and the American Legion Post #217 of Warsaw. He had served on the State Fair Community College Board of Directors and the Warsaw R-9 School Board where he was instrumental in helping to establish the football program at Warsaw High School.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie, on June 12, 2004.
Surviving are two sons, Andrew Boring and his wife, Deborah, of Liberty, Missouri, Matthew and Melissa Boring of Naperville, Illinois and a daughter, Sarah Wynn, and her husband, Doug, of Lonoke, Arkansas, six grandchildren, Belinda, Nicholas, Adam, Ashley, Katie and Cedric. Also surviving is a brother, Eddie Boring and his wife, Nadeene, of San Clemente, California and an uncle, Leslie Boring, of Claremont, California, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Robert E. Boring will be at 9:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 17, 2004 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Fr. Richard Colbert officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw, Pallbearers will be Nicholas Boring, Larry Burditt, Mike Murray, Dr. Jerry Finke, Dr. Mark Snell and Bill Bunch. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. Joseph Gialde, Jab White, Jim White, John White, Stan Intelmann, Gene Bunch, Scotty Newkirk, Chad Gregory, Lester Fischer, Randy Eaton, Rob Lane, Larry Beach, Betty Beach, Larry Gerken, Andy Kammerich, Dr. Merlin Eaton and Shawn Miller. Margie Lee Lemler

Margie Lee Lemler, age 88, of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 13, 2004, at her home near Tightwad. She was born on November 10, 1916, at Omaha, Nebraska, the daughter of Walter and Della Richwine Jenkins.
She grew up in Benton County, Missouri and in 1932 she was united in marriage to William Nelson Dulaban. Unto this union, three sons and two daughters were born. Her husband preceded her in death on May 29, 1957. Later she married Abner Tygart. She was a homemaker and also was in nursing. She had been employed by Golden Valley Hospital for 16 years and for Bothwell Hospital for 9 years. Her husband, Abner, died in 1972.
In 1975, she was married to Phillip Lemler and they made their home in Cole Camp. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She was a member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church near Racket.
She was preceded in death by a son, Alvin Dulaban on March 22, 2000 , a grandson, Wayne Dulaban on September 30, 1990, and two sisters.
Surviving are two sons, William Dulaban of Deepwater, Dean Dulaban of Tightwad, two daughters, Dorothy Albin of Tightwad and Darlene Self of Lincoln, 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
