Margaret Lucille Gable, age 92, of Windsor, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 26, 2005.
She was born on May 26, 1913, in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of Walter and Blanche Crumbaugh. They moved to Whitten, Iowa where Margaret graduated high school. They later moved to Mount Vernon, Iowa, where on November 12, 1938, Margaret married Charles D. Gable.
They moved to Cedar Rapids, Iowa and lived there until she moved to Windsor, Missouri in 1988.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles in 1979 and son David in 1963.
She enjoyed gardening in her younger years. In later years she enjoyed watching baseball games, especially the Chicago Cubs. She also enjoyed doing daily crossword puzzles.
She loved all the family holiday gatherings with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Surviving is one daughter Dianna Blegen and husband Edward of rural Warsaw, Missouri, and one brother, John Crumbaugh of Freeport, Texas, five grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and five great-great grandchildren, also many nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at Ridgewood Cemetery in North Liberty, Iowa at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, September 10, 2005. Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice c/o the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, P.O. Box 400, Lincoln, Missouri 65338.

Charles "Mac" Whittier

Charles “Mac” Whittier, age 82, of Edwards, ,Passed away Sunday, August 21, 2005, at his home. He was born in Castle Rock, Colorado on November 9, 1922, the son of Frank Irving and Jessica MacShane Whittier.
Mac was a member of the Cable Ridge Church of Christ. He was also a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in World War II. He will be remembered, by, all who knew him, for his love of driving trucks and his annual elk hunting trips.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila, of the home, three children, Bonnie Whitter of Anchorage, Alaksa, Sam Whittier of Monument, Colorado and Frank Whittier, of Las Vegas, Nevada, a step-daughter, Kyla Roberts, of Climax Springs, Missouri, and a step-son, Justen Cooper of Montrose, Missouri, 11 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He is also surviving by two sisters, Violetta Fauver, and her husband, Bill, Mary Echols, and a brother, Dave Whittier, all of Colorado, many other relatives and friends.
The family is honoring Mac’s wishes to be cremated with no services. Memorials may be made to the Benton County Hospice, P.O. Box 935, Warsaw, MO 65355. Arrangements by Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Esther Louise (Michalkowsky) Fiorello, age 90, of Warsaw, formerly of Independence, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, August 17, 2005, at the Warsaw Health Care Center. She was born on January 1, 1915, in Florence, Missouri, the daughter of Rev. E.H. and Ida Lewis Michalkowsky.
They moved to Warsaw and Esther graduated from Warsaw High School in 1933. She ten attended Southwest Baptist College in Bolivar, Missouri.
She was married to Nick Fiorello of Kansas City in 1948.He preceded her in death on January 27, 1986.
She was an employee of Commerce Bank of Kansas City from 1941 until 1976. She was supervisor of bookkeeping for several years and at retirement was in money management. She retired after 35 years of service.
She was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri for over 30 years and pianist over 20 years. She moved to Warsaw in 1991 and transferred her letter to the First Baptist Church of Warsaw.
She leaves a sister, Pearl Crudginton and a nephew, Mike Crudginton, both of Warsaw
Funeral services for Esther Fiorello will be at 10:30 A.M., Saturday, August 20-, 2005 at the First Baptist Church of Warsaw with Rev. Barry Edwards officiating. Graveside service will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday at Mt. Washington Cemetery in Independence, Missouri. No visitation. Arrangements under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Warsaw or the Beverly Hills Baptist Church in Independence, Missouri.

Benjamin Meade Fairless Harp

The family of Benjamin Meade Fairless Harp age 36, of Warsaw, Missouri, mourns the death of their beloved son and nephew, the 75th homicide victim of 2005, in Kansas City, Missouri, on August 17, 2005. He was born on June 28, 1969, the son of Ruth Ysleta Harp, who is a resident of the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, in Lincoln, Missouri.
Ben was a graduate of Hickman Mills High School, in 1987, and attended the Longview Community College. He was a member of the Boy Scout Troop #110, of Hickman Mills and a member of the Baptist Church of Martin City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his maternal gradparents, Herbert L. and Laura E. Fairless of Fayeteville, Ark. formerly of Kansas City, Missouri.
He is survived by his mother, Ruth. He also leaves behind his Aunt and Uncle, Beulah R. and Thomas E. Murphy of Warsaw, Missouri, who raised him since he was a young child. Also surviving, one sister, Vickie J. Farvis, of Tulsa, Ok., and a large extended family, and many friends who loved him.
Memorial services will be held 10:00 A.M., Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Alvin J. Jolley, officiating.

Violet Y. Lane

Violet Yvonne Lane, age 70, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Sunday evening, August 14, 2005, at the Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia, Missouri. She was born on the Kellner farm near Warsaw, Missouri, on June 2, 1935, the daughter of John and Zella B. Calvin Kellner.
She grew up in the Warsaw area and graduated from Warsaw High School in the class of 1953. She then made her home in Kansas City, Kansas, and was employed as a waitress, working at Putche’s Restaurant on the Plaza in Kansas City for sixteen years. In 1978 she returned to make her home in Warsaw.
She was an avid flower gardener and was most diligent to keep her flower beds weed-free and well-watered. She was most happy to wake-up each morning to enjoy her colorful yard.
Violet was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, Jack Kellner, James Kellner, Bill Kellner and Donnie Kellner.
She is survived by one son, Michael Lane, and his wife, Stella, of Warsaw, one sister, June Allen, of Oskaloosa, Iowa, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 A.M. Thursday, August 18th, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial will be in the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery near Warsaw. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.

William R. Taylor

William Robert Taylor, age 65, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005, at his home in KC Colony Development near Edwards, Missouri. He was born in Kansas City, Kansas, on November 12, 1939, the son of William Woodrow and Rosanna Elizabeth Allman Taylor.
He grew up in Wyandotte County, Kansas, and enlisted in the United States Navy serving for four years. He was a board ship most of that time and had sailed around the world seven times during his enlistment. Following his discharge in 1960 he returned to make his home in Wyandotte County.
He worked as a laborer on various construction sites for several years and then worked as a freight loader for over-the-road truckers until moving to his lake home near Edwards in 1990.
He was preceded in death by his father and one brother, Billy Taylor.
He is survived by his mother, Rosanna Taylor, of Edwards, three brothers, Fred Taylor, and his wife, Veronica, of Sedalia, Missouri, Kenneth Taylor, of Edwards, and Charles Taaylor, of Peculiar, Missouri, two sisters, Wanda McCall and Marcella Tindle, both of Kansas City, Kansas, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Grave Side Funeral Services and Burial will be at 1:30 P.M. Thursday, August 18th at the Leavenworth National Cemetery in Leavenworth, Kansas, under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.

Herald Bailey

Herald Eugene “Bud” Bailey, age 81, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born on the family farm near Warsaw on April 10, 1924, the son of Garland and Nancy Maxwell Bailey.
He grew up on the farm and graduated from Warsaw High School in 1942. On January 6, 1943, he was married to Grace Nicholas at the Baptist parsonage in Marshall, Missouri.
In 1945, Bud entered the United States Army and served overseas for 18 months in Germany. He had the privilege of driving then General Dwight Eisenhower while in Germany. He was honorably discharged in 1947.
He was an ordained minister for several years and preached at Turkey Creek Chapel. He presently was a member of the New Home Baptist Church of Warsaw.
He spent most all his life on the family farm. He raised livestock and grew hay and for a short time, corn. The farm was his life and he enjoyed being on the farm. For over 26 years, he owned and operated Bailey’s Sand and Gravel, retiring in 1995.
His parents, one sister, Wanda Snow one son, Herald E. Bailey, Jr., and one grandson, Jamie Bailey, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Grace, of the home, three sons, Ted Bailey, and his wife, Debra, of Warsaw, Ronnie Bailey, and his wife, Sandra, of Kansas City, Missouri and Tim Bailey, and his wife, Tammy, of Harrisonville, 6 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, a brother, Neil G. Bailey of Warsaw, two sisters, Margie Marquis and Evelyn Pruitt, both of Sedalia, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Herald E. “Bud” Bailey will be at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, August 14, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Barry Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the

Nickey Ray Johnson

Nickey Ray Johnson, age 55, of Warsaw, passed away Friday, August 12, 2005, at his home after a battle with cancer. He was born on September 14, 1949, in Warsaw, the son of Ray Samuel and Ila Mae Land Johnson.
In November 1966 he enlisted into the United States Army, serving overseas in Vietnam. He was honorably discharge in November of 1969.
On May 1, 1971, he was united in marriage to Charlene Fern Gregg at Sedalia, Missouri. They made their home near Warsaw, where they raised their family of one son and two daughters. He had been employed as a construction worker and worked on the Truman Dam Project and levee and was foreman on the Harry S. Truman Visitor’s Center. He was also a carpet layer and installed carpet in many homes and businesses in the area.
He was a member of the American Legion Post # 217 of Warsaw and the Carpenter’s Union.
His parents, one sister, Wanda Hill and two brothers, Dennis Johnson and Raymond Johnson, preceded him in death
Surviving is his wife, Charlene, of the home, one son, Dale Johnson of St. Louis, Missouri, two daughters, Rhonda Hilt, and her husband, Lendell, of Green Ridge, Missouri, and Leslie Todd, and her husband, Tim, of Versailles, 6 grandchildren, Shirlene, Candace, and Nathanael Hilt, of Green Ridge, Natalie Johnson of St. Louis, Holly Fields and Josh Walters of Versailles, two brothers, Kenneth Johnson of Warsaw and Phillip Johnson of Lincoln, three sisters, Roberta DeGraffenried of Warsaw and Phyliss Smith and Shirley Lear, both of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends..
Funeral services for Nickey R. Johnson, will be at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 15, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw with Pastor Sam Hinkle officiating. Burial and military rites will be held in Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be Sunday evening, from 7 to 8 P.M., at the Reser Funeral Home. Aubrey Lee Murray

Aubrey Lee Murray was born February 26, 1930 to Walter and Jewell Mitchell Murray in Guymon, Oklahoma. He passes away at his home in rural Warsaw on Friday, August 12. Lee Graduated from Hardesty, Oklahoma High School in 1949 and attended Bible College in Baxter Springs, Kansas. Following graduation he pastured Apostolic Faith Churches in San Diego, California, Meridian, Mississippi, and Liberal, Kansas where he was instrumental in building a new church.
Lee moved to Raytown, Missouri in 1959. He had a manor Baker route and a Fuller Brush territory in Independence. In 1965 Lee married Donna Kimm Berry and they moved to Amarillo Texas where they operated dry cleaning plants for a Kansas City based company. In 1969 they returned to Kansas City and Lee worked on the road for One Hour Martinizing.
In November of 1972 they purchased Weber’s Cleaners, later renaming it The Cleaners Etc, in Richmond, Missouri. They owned and operated the dry cleaning plant, custom drapery and wallpaper business until December of 1996, when they sold and made plans to retire to the lake.
During heart surgery in the spring of 1997, Lee suffered severe bilateral stroke damage. He fought very hard to regain his health and never gave up through therapy and further setbacks.
Lee leaves behind his wife, Donna of the home, one sister, Lorita Austin of Forsyth, Illinois, two daughters, Victoria Gustavision of Papua, New Guinea and Rebecca LeGrand of Centralia, Missouri, six grandchildren, Isaac LeGrand, United States Navy, Rachel LeGrand of Springfield, Missouri, Charity LeGrand of Centralia, Missouri, Krista Bennett of Rolla, Missouri, Erin Ragan of Rolla, Missouri and Josiah Gustavison, Wilmore of Kentucky along with 4 great grandchildren
Lee was a member of the Ararat Shrine Temple, Kansas City, Missouri, Richmond Blue Lodge of Richmond, Missouri and the United Methodist Church of Warsaw.
Memorial services will be held 10:30 A.M. Tuesday August 16, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home with Cliff Saupe officiating. Interment of ashes will follow at a later date. Contributions may be made in Lee’s memory to the Benton County Hospice, The Nelson Rolf Animal Shelter or the United Methodist Church of Warsaw c/o the Reser Funeral Home, P.O. Mary Helen "Bee" Simpkins

Mary Helen “Bee” Simpkins, age 73, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday, August 11, 2005, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born on May 27, 1932, in Nashville, Arkansas, the daughter of Gus Patrick and Mona Laura Rice McClanahan.
She grew up in Nashville and graduated from Nashville High School in 1950. Sh then attended Southern State College in Magnolia, Arkansas. She moved to Little Rock, Arkansas where she was employed as a secretary for a fire insurance firm.
On February 16, 1958 she married Billy Simpkins at the Wesley Methodist Church in Little Rock, Arkansas. They made their home in Fayetteville, Arkansas before moving to Greenville, Texas where they lived for a year. They returned to Russellville, Arkansas and unto this union, their were born two daughters.
They later moved with their family to Ozark, Arkansas and then to Lanett, Alabama before first coming to Warsaw in 1974. In 1989, they moved to Elberton, Georgia where they made their home for three years and then returned to Warsaw.
“Bee” as she was known to her family and friends, had a devoted faith and was an avid reader and student of the bible. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw and had severed as Sunday School Teacher for many years. She was a member of the Gideon’s Auxiliary serving as a state cabinet member for six years and had worked at the Baptist Ridge Camp.
Her parents, and one brother, Gus McClanahan, preceded her in death.
Surviving is her devoted husband, Billy, of the home, two daughters, Laurie Rebecca Simpkins, of Kansas City, Missouri and Mary Margaret Horning, and her husband, William Joseph, and two granddaughters, Rebecca Grace and Emily Anne, all of Raytown, a brother, Larry McClanahan of Little Rock, Arkansas and a sister-in-law, Carol McClanahan of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Mary Helen “Bee” Simpkins, will be held at 1:30 P.M., Tuesday, August 16, 2005, at the First Baptist Church of Warsaw, with Rev. Barry Edwards officiating. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Visitation will be Monday evening from 7 to 8 P.M., at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Memorials may be made to the American Stroke Association in care of the Reser Funeral Home.

Dean Burton

Dean Burton, age 77, of Lincoln, passed away Thursday, August 4, 2005, at Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri. He was born on February 12, 1928, in Benton County, near Racket, Missouri, the son of Harve and Addie Summers Burton.
He grew up near Warsaw and attended Warsaw High School.
Dean served in the United States Army, serving overseas in Italy during World War II, before he was honorably discharged.
He was united in marriage to Margie Brown. They made their home in Oak Grove and Grain Valley where he was a production worker for Fischer Body for over 10 years. They moved to Sedalia, Missouri where he owned and operated a bowling alley. Later he moved to Ft. Morgan, Colorado where he continued in the bowling alley operations.
In 1971, he moved to Racket and operated the Racket Store for several years. He then worked in the bowling alley at Whiteman Air Force Base until he retired. Following retirement, Dean still found time on his hands, and began working in sales at Sutherland Lumber in Sedalia.
On January 26, 1995, he was married to Esther Allen in Warsaw. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw.
Dean was a friend to all. He had a great sense of humor, always enjoying a good story or joke. He loved to read as long as his eyesight would allow. He spent many enjoyable hours fishing the lake and turkey hunting. He was a avid card player and would challenge anyone to a good game. He was very proud of his Indiana heritage that was given him by his mother.
His parents, his wife, Esther, and two brothers, Fred Burton and Ray Burton, preceded him in death.
Surviving is one daughter, Rhonda Gaylord and her husband, Ed, of Green Ridge, Missouri, two sons, Jim Page and his wife, Corinne, of Ohio and Kenny Page, and his wife, Fay, of Minnesota. 10 grandchildren and one great-grandson, a brother, Leo Burton and his wife, Beverly, of Lincoln, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services for Dean Burton will be Monday, August 8, 2005, at 10:30 A.M., at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Rev. Jason McCray officiating. Burial will be in Shawnee Cemetery, Warsaw. Howard Tweedy

Howard Ray Tweedy, age 64, of the City of Lake Waukomis, Missouri passed away, Friday, August 5, 2005 at North Kansas City Hospital. He was born on June 24, 1941 of a farm near Fristoe, Missouri, the son of Clarence & Lillie Antwiller Tweedy. Howard grew up in Benton County, attending the one room Liberty School and graduating from Warsaw High School in 1959.
Howard was a people person, he never met a stranger and would be the first to admit that he was fortunate to carve out a successful career in sale and sales management, which enabled him to meet people form all walks of life and from all parts of the country, traveling from coast to coast and border to border just doing what he enjoyed. A time demanding career didn’t mean that other very important people would be ignored. He held a serious interest in the participation of his children’s school and sporting events, such as summer little league baseball and softball, which demanded transportation and participation of every pitch and swing of the bat, win or lose he supported them to give their best.
Howard served as mayor of the city of Lake Waukomis for five terms. He was president of the Homeowners Association of Lake Waukomis and city alderman. Howard received the 2005 Lake Waukomis Lifetime Achievement Award. He also served as treasurer on the Platte County Mayors’ Council. Howard was described as a very low-key gentleman of his community, who paid little attention to himself, and more to the betterment of those who knew him.
Howard is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Hubert and Herman Tweedy.
His is survived by the most important person of his life, his wife Janet, three children, Ronda Lynn Mansell and her husband Lee and son Tanner, of Kansas City, Missouri, Adam Ray Tweedy and Andrea Eve Tweedy, both of Lake Waukomis, Missouri
Funeral Services for Howard Tweedy will be held 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, August 10, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Rev. Warren Campbell, officiating. Burial will be held at the Fristoe Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lee Mansell, Kelsey Jacobs, Raymond Moore, Jr., Kevin Moore, Shawn Johnson and David Johnson. Annie M. Busse

Annie Marie Busse, age 90, passed away Wednesday evening, July 27, 2005, at her home in Woodland Shores Development near Warsaw, Missouri. She was born in Ann Arbor, Michigan, on August 4, 1914, the daughter of Odell and Louise Rogiers De Clerck.
She grew up in Michigan, Illinois and Missouri, finally making her home in Kansas City. She had been employed as an electronics assembly worker for the Bendix Corporation in Kansas City for over thirty years retiring in November of 1981.
On May 29, 1967, she was married to George L. Busse in Kansas City. Following their retirement they moved to their lake home near Warsaw.
Annie was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary of Post #5925 of Lincoln, Missouri, American Legion Auxiliary of Post #217 of Warsaw, Missouri, and the Disabled American Veterans Post in Jeffeson City, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband, George, of the home, one son, Jackie Threlkeld, seven step-children, George Busse, Jr. of Thayer, Kansas, Timothy Busse, of Altona, Kansas, Thomas Busse, of Licking, Missouri, Georgette Dixon, of Overland Park, Kansas, Sharon Forman, of Mims, Florida, and Dee Kissel, of Thayer, Kansas.
She also leaves twenty-five grandchildren, twenty-nine great-grandchildren, and one great-great-granddaughter, one sister, Alice Nelson, of Moline, Illinois, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
The family would like to express their deep gratitude to the Benton County Hospice for their care and assistance during Annie’s final days and a special thank you to a great friend and neighbor, Darlene Brocker, for her loving devotion.
There will be a Memorial Reception of Family and Friends after 10:00 A.M. Friday, July 29th at the Busse home. Cremation.

Chalmer W. Barb, age 81 of Warsaw, was born on September 12, 1923, at Edmondson, Missouri in Benton County, the son of Olen Clay and Ruby Hill Barb, and went to his heavenly home Tuesday, July 26, 2005.
Chalmer attended rural schools in Benton County for 8 years and worked several years doing farm work. He joined the Civilian Conservation Corp in April of 1941 and served until March 9, 1942. In 1944, during World War II, he enlisted in the armed forced and served in the infantry from July 13, 1944 until April 23, 1946. After basic training, his unit was sent to France as a replacement unit and became part of the 39th artillery. After the war ended in Europe his unit was sent back to the states and Chalmer was honorably discharged from duty.
On January 25, 1945, he was united in marriage with Ruth Williams of Lincoln at the court house in Kansas City, Kansas. Unto this union, four sons were born, Martin G., Robert E., William L., and James C.
Chalmer gave his heart to the Lord on February 14, 1971. He was baptized and joined the First Baptist Church of Warsaw where he served faithfully in attendance and was a deacon from January 20, 1980 until his health kept him from serving He had also served as trustee for the church.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and two brothers, Earl and Junior Clay Barb.
Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Ruth, of the home, four sons, Martin and his wife, Sherry, of Mission, Kansas, Robert and his wife, Debra, of McKinney, Texas, William and his wife, Jackie, of Warsaw and James and his wife, Cynthia, also of Warsaw, seven grandchildren, Nathan Barb, and his wife, Jodi of Warsaw, Jacqueline Panas, and her husband, Jeff, of Florence, Alabama, Thomas Barb and his wife, Andrea, of Mission, Kansas, Myron Barb and Sarah Barb, both of Springfield, Missouri, Donna Barb of McKinney, Texas and Kevin Barb, of Kansas City, Missouri, two great-granddaughters, Justine Barb of Warsaw and Creighton Panas, of Florence, Alabama, a brother, John L. Barb and a sister, Darlene Allen, both of Warsaw, numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Chalmer Barb will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, at the First Baptist Church of Warsaw with Rev. Doug Gripka officiating. Burial and military rites will be at the Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, near Warsaw. Visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M., Friday at the church prior to the services. Pallbearers will be Nathan Barb, Thomas Barb, Myron Barb, Kevin Barb, Jeff Panas, and Gary Barb. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jacque Panas, Sarah Barb, Donna Barb, Jodi Bard, and Andrea Barb and the Deacons of the First Baptist Church of Warsaw. Memorials may be made to the Benton County Cancer Fund in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Jimmie "Catfish" Chapin

Jimmie Lee “Catfish” Chapin, age 68, of Warsaw, passed away at his home on Tuesday, July 26, 2005. He was born on November 9, 1936 in Warsaw, the son of John and Fern Long Chapin. He attended school in Edmondson and Sedalia before moving to Kansas City in 1953, where he was employed as a machinist until retiring in 1991 and returning to Warsaw.
Jimmie enjoyed fishing as long as his health permitted, as well as playing bingo and most importantly spending time with his family and playing with his grandchildren. Jimmie was also actively involved with Alcoholics Anonymous for 29 years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother Johnnie Chapin, one sister, Cleda Kern, a brother-in-law, Herschel Hylton, a sister-in-law Annette “Babe” Chapin and daughter, Mary Lou.
Jimmie leaves behind his wife Carol Chapin of the home, sons Mark Lee Chapin (Tara Edelstein) of Warsaw, Vernon “Chris” Gregory (Tayona) of Royse City, Texas, Mark S. Gregory of Nashville, Tennessee, Glenn Gregory (Patrina) of Nashville, Tennessee, daughters, Theresa “Teri” Baker (Tony) of Gladstone, Missouri, Angel Rose of Mosby, Missouri and grandchildren Cassie Siglar, Axel Rose and Stormy Rose, sisters, Marge Leinhouser (Bob) and Linda Hylton, brothers Don Chapin, Ron Chapin (Patti) and Raymond Chapin (Shelia) and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Services for Jimmie Lee “Catfish” Chapin, will be held Saturday, July 30, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, with Timothy Brown, officiating. Memorial donation may be given to the Benton County Hospice.

Ottis Carl Hammond

Ottis Carl Hammond passed away, Saturday, July 23, 2005, at Lake Regional Hospital in Osage Beach, Missouri. He was born on February 1, 1928, in Warsaw, Missouri, the son of Jake Ottis and Lily Mae Fischer Hammond.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Jesse, Gene and Fred and one sister, Mabel.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Jackie Gunn Hammond, of the home, eight children, Carl, Frances, Robert, Brenda, Dana, Jack, Toni and Jill, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and many many, relatives and long-time friends.
Ottis and Jackie lived on their family farm in Camden County for 45 years, in the house he built. He attended school at Point Lookout and Warsaw. He worked as a farmer, a farrier, a rock mason and a carpenter.
Ottis accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior in 1959. His faith in God sustained him as we celebrate his life and his home going.
Funeral Services for Ottis C. Hammond will be at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 26, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, with Pastor John D. Park officiating. Burial will be in the Cable Ridge Cemetery, near Edwards, Missouri. No Visitation. The family suggest memorial contribution be made to the Cable Ridge Cemetery in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw, Missouri.

Virginia S. Milliner

Virginia S. Milliner, age 75, of Edwards, Missouri, passed away Friday afternoon, July 22, 2005, at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. She was born near Lincoln, Nebraska, on August 2, 1929, the daughter of Edward and Ella Elizabeth Turner Scikman.
As a teenager she moved with her family to Kansas City, Kansas, and attended there attended Stoney Point school. On April 4, 1958, she was united in marriage to Charles L. Hookham. They made their home in Kansas City, Kansas. He preceded her in death on August 21, 1957.
On October 7, 1977, she was married to Norman Milliner. They also made their home at 5118 Freeman in Kansas City, Kansas. For some thirty years she and her family had taken into their home and cared for many foster children that had been abused, neglected or unwanted. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, caring for her own family with the love and devotion of a guardian angel. To the benefit of her family, friends and neighbors she loved to crochet, making blankets, and sweaters, and clothing for dolls and toys. She also enjoyed reading magazines, story books and her Bible.
On August 27, 1982, she and Norman moved to their home near Edwards, Missouri.
Virginia is survived by her husband, Norman, of the home, three sons, Charles Skinner, of Kansas City, Kansas, Norman Dale Milliner, Jr. of North Kansas City, Missouri, and Anthony Milliner, of Kansas City, Kansas, five daughters, Susan McConnell, of Pueblo, Colorado, Sherry Ripley, of Steelville, Missouri, Winona Phelps, of Springhill, Kansas, Kathy Halbert, also of Kansas City, Kansas, and Valerie Rodriguez, of Shawnee, Kansas, seventeen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Services will be at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday morning, July 26, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw with Rev. John Ripley officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Garden Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening at the funeral home.

Clara E. Hollenberg

Clara Elinor Elizabeth Hollenberg, age 82, of Warsaw, Missouri, was born on October 8, 1922, the daughter of Leonard and Clara Blasé Haas. God called her to Himself in Heaven on July 22, 2005.
Clara became a member of the Lutheran Church upon marriage and was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Warsaw, Missouri.
She was married to H. Delmar Hollenberg on December 25, 1941, in Maryland Heights, Missouri. Clara was a homemaker, a helpmate in the family farming operation, a wonderful wife and mother, who enjoyed cooking, gardening and the out-of-doors. Her husband preceded her in death on November 11, 1995, at their home in Center, Missouri. In early 1997 Clara moved to and made her home at Warsaw, Missouri, where she is known to many simply as “Mom.”
Clara is survived by two daughters, Jackie Martin, and her husband, Lou, of Cottleville, Missouri, and Sue Fergerson, and her husband, Jim, of Warsaw, Missouri, five grandchildren: Debbie Janis, of St. Peters, Missouri, Bradley Martin, of O’Fallon, Missouri, Jody and Paul Fergerson, of Versailles, Missouri, and Robert Fergerson, of Cole Camp, Missouri, eleven grandchildren; five sisters, two brothers, other relatives and many friends in Warsaw, Center, St. Charles and St. Louis County area.
Graveside Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon July 26, 2005, at the Center Cemetery in Center, Missouri, with Rev. Morris Meseke officiating. Visitation will be from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. Monday evening, at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw, Missouri.

Kathryn Lesseg Poole

Kathryn Lesseg Poole age 90, of Lincoln, Missouri passed away, Friday, July 22, 2005 at the Lincoln Community Nursing Home, in Lincoln, Missouri
She was born on December 13, 1914 in Webster Groves, Missouri, the daughter of Otto Peter Becker and Anna Lena Gier Becker. She was Christened on June 8, 1919 by Pastor George Lueke, Jr., of Evangelical Lutheran Christ Church of Webster Groves, Missouri, sponsers were Mabelle Hartman and Orville Newlin.
Kathryn enjoyed being with her family more than anything else. She loved cooking and baking and her family will miss her special meals and desserts. She also loved to crochet and made them many beautiful Afghans and dolls. Her favorite passtimes were working crossword puzzels and watching the St. Louis Cardinals, St. Louis Rams, Kansas City Royals and the K.C. Chiefs. She also liked watching the men’s P.G.A. and recetly started watching Texas Hold’em tournaments.
She was united in marriage to Alfred H. Lesseg on April 22, 1939, in Creve Cour, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 16, 1979. She then married Ralph T. Poole on April 9, 1981, in Edwards, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 13, 1995, she was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Janette Koch Robbins and three brothers, William R. Becker, John A. Becker and Robert O. Becker, grandchildren, David Wayne Kirtley and Deborah Drave Bartlett.
Kathryn retired in 1971 from T.G.&Y Variety Stores. She was the office manager for the store in Argentine, Kansas and later for the store at 78th and State, Kansas City, Kansas.
Kathryn has lived in Benton County for the past 34 years, 10 years at Woodland Chores Resort, in Warsaw, 14 years years at Forthview Resort in, Edwards and 14 years in Lincoln.
Surviving are two, daughters, Jerrie Lesseg Dupree and her husband Bill of Silsbee, Texas and Jeanne Lesseg Ozias of Lincoln, Missouri, formerly of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and one son Ron Lesseg and his wife Sandy of Overland Park, Kansas. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Sherry Blades King and her husband Bob, Kathryn A. Blades Larison and her husband, Stan, Tony Byergo and his wife, Tammy and Jenniver Bartlett Hess, three great-grandchildren, Sierra King, Austin Hess and Samantha Byergo, and other relatives and many friends.
Grave Side services and interment for Kathryn A. Lesseg Poole will be held 12:00 (Noon) Monday, July 25, 2005 at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, in Kansas City, Missouri at I-435 and Holmes.
Visitation will be held Sunday, July 24, 2005 at the Davis-Miller Funeral Home, in Lincoln, Missouri from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.

Joann Irene Karst Schierholz

Joann Irene Karst Schierholz age 70, passed away, Thursday, July 14, 2005 at her home in Warsaw, Missouri, after a long battle with cancer. She was on born on September, 1, 1934 in Chillicothe, Missouri, the daughter of Chris and Lillian Karst.
She graduated from St. Joseph Academy in Chillicothe, Missouri, in 1951. She worked for Pitman Mfg., Co. in Grandview, Missouri for 26 years, and then retiring from H.R. Williams in Kansas City, Missouri in 1996, moving to Warsaw, Missouri in 1998.
She was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church, Warsaw, Missouri, the American Legion Auxiliary for 40 years and the B.P.O.E. #2583 of Warsaw, and was Exalted Ruler from 2004 to 2005.
She enjoyed cake decorating, bowling and her music.
She is survived by her husband Stanley, of the home; two sons, Mark Schierholz and his wife Roni, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Patrick Schierholz, and his wife, Cryss, of Warsaw, Missouri, a brother, Bill J. Karst and his wife Jan, of Warsaw, one sister Evelyn Snyder, and her husband, Jim, of Chillicothe, Mo., 11 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Visitation will be held Saturday, July 16, 2005 at the Reser Funeral Home, in Warsaw, Missouri starting at 5:00 P.M. with rosary at 6:30 P.M. and Elk Lodge service following rosary. Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Monday, July 18, 2005 at Mt. Moriah-Freeman Funeral Home at I-435 and Holmes Rd. in Kansas City, Missouri, with visitation starting at (Noon). Interment will be in the Mt. Moriah Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri. Pallbearers will be Mark Schierholz, Patrick Schierholz, Robert Trudeau, Steve Vickers, Larry Weiseman and Phil Martin. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne Beaty and Tim Fink. Memorial contributions may be made to the Benton County Hospice or the American Cancer Society.

Barbara Posz

Barbara A. Posz, age 63, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, July 14, 2005, at her home. She was born on November 8, 1941, in Butte, Montana, the daughter of Robert C. and Sarah Heyworth Foster.
She graduated from Paseo High School, class of 1959. On August 24, 1963 she was united in marriage to Richard Posz in Kansas City, Missouri. She was a devoted wife and mother working diligently to raise her two children, Lee and Beth. She also enjoyed studying family genealogy, reading and basketweaving, but the most enjoyable time spent was with her grandchildren
Barbara is preceded in death by her parents.
She is survived by her husband Richard, of the home, one son Lee Posz and his wife Nannette, of Overland Park, Kansas and one daughter, Beth Dechman and her husband Gary, of Lee’s Summit, Missouri, one grandson Joshua and four granddaughters, Sarah, Madeleine, Megan and Madison, two brothers Robert Foster, of Palm Harbor, Florida and Edward Foster, of Florence, Missouri, one sister, Marilyn Wayman of Prairie Village, Kansas, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services for Barbara Posz will be held, Tuesday, July 19, 2005 at 10:00 A.M. at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Visitation will be held Monday evening July 18th from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Shawnee Cemetery in Warsaw. Ronald C. Cummins

Ronald C. Cummins, age 56, of Warsaw, passed away Thursday morning, September 8, 2005, at his home. He was born on September 25, 1948, in Excelsior Springs, Missouri, the son of Raymond and Evelyn Woods Cummins.
He grew up in Excelsior Springs, Missouri and when he was 17, enlisted into the United States Navy. He served two tours overseas in Vietnam on a PBR boat on critical missions in the Mekong Delta. He was honorably discharged in 1969.
He returned to Kansas City, Missouri area and was employed by AT & T and later for Missouri Public Service. In the early 1980’s, he moved to Warsaw and was employed on the Harry S. Truman Dam Project as first an electrician, then a control room operator and was a maintenance supervisor until March of this year.
He was united in marriage to Angie Bristow on December 27, 1990 in Warsaw. Following their marriage, they made their home in Warsaw.
He was a hybrid bass fisherman and was affectively known as the “Hybrid King on Truman Lake”. Ron was very outgoing, adventurous, had an excellent sense of humor and always honest. One of his favorite lines was “God hates a coward” He was always willing to lend a helping hand or do anything he was ask. In 2003 and 2004, he volunteered to go to Iraq to help restore electricity and was the project engineer for restoring the electricity in the southern third of Iraq. He enjoyed traveling and saw the world while in the navy and on his many fishing trips.
His father, Raymond Cummins and two brothers, James “Jimmy” Cummins and Ray Jr. Cummins, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Angie, of the home, four children, Jerad Allen Cummins, of Blue Springs, Missouri, Brian Cummins and Michael Cummins, both of Topeka, Kansas, and Lucas Cummins, currently of the home, his mother, Evelyn Cummins of Excelsior Springs, Missouri, a sister, Norma E. Geiss, also of Excelsior Springs, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Ronald Cummins will be at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, September 10, 2005, with Bill Roberts officiating. Family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., Saturday prior to the services. Interment and military honors will be at Riverside Cemetery, Warsaw. Family suggest memorial contributions may be made to the Baptist Ridge Camp in care of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Nellie Mae King, age 79, of Warsaw, passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at her home. She was born on January 12, 1926, in Warsaw, Missouri, the daughter of Jake Otis and Lilly Mae Jackson Hammond.
She was a homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family and doing crafts. She also collected Beanie Babies. She had professed her faith and joined the Assembly of God Church many years ago.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Mable Hammond Kindle, and four brothers, Gene, Fred, Jesse, and Ottis Hammond.
Surviving is her husband, Earl Lawrence King, of the home, seven children, Barbara Jean Vansel Palanza of Jacksonville, Florida, Mary Lou Vansel Kellner, Larry Wayne Vansel and Patricia Ann Baldwin Black, all of Warsaw, Gary Cleo Vansel and Marvin Eugene Baldwin, both of Kansas City, Kansas and Vickie Ellen Baldwin LaMartina, of Olathe, Kansas, 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, six step-children, Patsy McMunn, Sandra Darling, Earl King, Jr., James King, John King, all of Kansas City, Missouri and Connie Hockett of Warsaw, 8 step-grandchildren and one step-great-granddaughter, 3 siblings, Myrtle, George and Chester, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services for Nellie Mae King will be at 2:00 P.M., Thursday, September 8, 2005, at the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw. Burial will be in Turkey Creek Cemetery near Warsaw. No Visitation. Arrangements by the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Canyon Lee Brown, died at birth on September 3, 2005, at Bothwell Regional Health Care Center in Sedalia.
He is survived by his mother, Crystal Bash, of Edwards, his grandparents, Ted and Berlidene Brown of Edwards and his great-grandmother, Junie Dodd also of Edwards. Also surviving is an aunt, Joyce Hasper, and her husband, Stephen, of Pasadena, California, cousins, Nathan, Roger, and Adam Hasper and their families, other relatives and friends.
Graveside services for Canyon Lee Brown will be at 1:00 P.M., Tuesday, September 6, 2005, at the Cable Ridge Cemetery, Edwards, Missouri, with Rev. Stephen Hasper officating. Arrangements under the direction of the Reser Funeral Home, Warsaw.

Pat Lomax

Patrick D. Lomax, age 76,of Warsaw, passed away Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton, Missouri. He was born on March 17, 1929, in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Claude B. and Nellie Smith Lomax.
On October 6, 1951, he was united in marriage to Betty J. Gaylord in Kansas City, Missouri. Pat served in the United States Marine Corps from November 1946 to February 1949. In 1973 he moved his family to Ohio where he lived for sixteen years, until 1989 when he retired to Warsaw, where he enjoyed fishing, golfing, cooking and collecting recipes.
He was a former member of the Blue Summit Baptist Church in Kansas City and became a member of the Cedar Grove Baptist Church of Warsaw in 1993. He served as Sunday School Director for many years and volunteered many hours to the Vacation Bible School program every summer. He was also a member of the nominating committee and thoroughly enjoyed participating in the choir.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and five sisters.
Surviving is his wife Betty of the home and three sons, Gerald Lomax, Calvin Lomax and his wife Angela and Raymond Lomax, three daughters, Patty Hurt and her husband Alan, Barbara Lomax and Elaine Lomax, all of Warsaw, One granddaughter, Theresa Edwards and her husband Joe, of Lincoln, six grandsons; Jesse Lomax, Jeremiah Lomax, Jake Lomax, Lorne Lomax, Lantz Lomax and Christopher Hurt, two great-grandchildren, Emily and Ethan Edwards, two sisters Loretta O’Malley of Independence, Missouri and Dorothy Dillard and her husband Douglas of Virginia, two brothers, Clyde Lomax and Parry Lomax and his wife Shirley of Warsaw, numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services for Pat Lomax will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church in Warsaw, with Rev. Bill Hix, officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. at the Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. Burial will be in the National Cemetery in Warsaw. Pallbearers will be Christopher Hurt, Jesse Lomax Ronnie Gaylord, Travis Lurten, Jason Huffman and Lance Estes.
