Cheslie E. "Chet" Squires
Cheslie E. “Chet” Squires, 65, of 408 ˝ W. Locust Street, died Saturday, February 21, 2004 at his home. Chet was born march 27, 1938 in Independence, Iowa the son of Grover and Billyoh Squires.
Chet worked for Link Belt Manufacturing as a machinist. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II.
Chet is survived by two sons: Timothy L. Squires and his wife Tammy of Morehouse, Missouri; Patrick L. Squires and his wife Barbara of Sikeston, Missouri; a daughter Joyce K Carlisle and her husband mark of Waterloo. Nine grandchildren: Amanda Squires, Justin Squires, Deseray Squires, Shain Squires, Nickie Squires, Skyler Squires, Dylan Squires, Austin Carlisle, and Zachary Carlisle. He is also survived by a brother and a sister.
Chet is preceded in death by his parents, a son Terry L. Squires, and by a brother and a sister.

Joseph N. Steffen
Joseph N. Steffen, 72, of Cedar Rapids, formerly of Waterloo, died Thursday, July 29, 2004 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids from complications of a short illness. He was born on February 25, 1932 in Iowa Falls, IA, son of John P. and Barbara C. (Caillard) Steffen.
Joseph graduated from Ackley High School in 1950 and later attended Gates Business College. He married Leah Rae Mills on November 9, 1951. They were later divorced.
Joseph served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He sold insurance over the course of his lifetime and also delivered medications for Sorg’s Drugs. He was a member of the American Legion, Cedar Rapids.
Joseph is survived by his daughter, Pam Droste and her husband Rich, of Waterloo, IA; son, Mike Steffen and his wife Carol, of Marshalltown, IA; two granddaughters; three step grandchildren; six step great grandchildren; three brothers, Lawrence Steffen and his wife Vanda, of Janesville, IA, Donald Steffen and his wife Lorraine, of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Vincent Steffen and his wife Jackie, also of Cedar Rapids; and several nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents.

Cecil M. Stevens
Cecil M. Stevens, 105, of the Elizabeth Martin Heath Center of the Western Home Community, died Friday, June 20, 2003 at the Martin Center. Cecil was born May 16, 1898, in Hudson, the daughter of William J. and Hattie (Alexander) Smith. Cecil grew up in Hudson, attended school there, and married Charles Richards. They both worked for Central Iowa Telephone, he as a lineman and Cecil from 1923 on as an operator. They moved to Voorhies, and in 1931 Charles died when electrocuted while on the job.
Cecil married George H. Stevens April 16, 1936. They lived in a home in Voorhies which contained the telephone switchboard until 1939 when they moved to Hudson where Cecil was the operator for Farmers Mutual Telephone Company, again in the home, until 1945. Cecil was also a representative for Rainbow Florist in Hudson for many years. She was a past Noble Grand, and member since 1920, of the Rebekah Lodge of Hudson, a member of the Community Church of Hudson, serving on the church board and on the flower committee, a member of the Garden Club and the 20th Century Club. She loved to play 500.
Cecil is survived by her daughter Alethea (Clarence) Peters of Hudson, son in law Lloyd Loonan of Hudson, grandson Gordon (Rose) Peters of Keokuk, granddaughter Carol (Jeff) Dick of Cedar Falls, granddaughter LeeAnn (Norm) Armstrong of Round Lake, Minnesota, 8 great grandchildren, and 8 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Charles in 1931, husband George in 2001, daughter Margaret H. Loonan March 25, 1998, and sister Edna Witt.

John H. Stevens
John H. Stevens, 81, of 721 Cataract Ave. died Saturday, July 26, 2003 at Allen Memorial Hospital following a Stroke. John was born September 9, 1921 in Iowa City, Iowa the son of Emmor and Edna (Humphrey) Stevens. He graduated from East High School in 1939.
John's studies at the University of Iowa were interrupted to serve in the U.S. Army in Europe during WW II. He graduated from the College of Law in 1949. He married Cornelia Coldren December 23, 1950 in LaCrosse, Wisconsin.
John went to work for Rath Packing Company in 1951. He worked for Rath's for 30 years retiring as Board Secretary and Director of Employee Relations in 1981. He was a member of the Waterloo Kiwanis Club where he served on the Board of Directors. He was a member of First Congregational Church and the Iowa Bar Association. He volunteered his time for SCORE, the Cedar Valley United Way, Hawkeye Valley Agency on Aging, and Meals on Wheels.
John is survived by his wife and daughter Kay E. Stevens of Fort Collins, Colorado. He is preceded in death by his parents, a son Lawrence Stevens, and a sister Mary Ellen Stevens.

Terry L. "McMurrin" Stevens
Terri L. "McMurrin" Stevens, 45, of Waterloo, died Saturday, November 22, 2003, at her home. She was born December 27, 1957 in Atchison, Kansas, daughter of Herman and Bettie Queen Pankey. She graduated from Central High School in 1976 and attended Hawkeye Community College. She worked with disabled people over the years.
She married Scott McMurrin in September of 1983. They were later divorced. Later, she married Anthony Stevens on September 25, 2003.
Terri is survived by her husband Tony of Waterloo. Daughter: Shannon McMurrin of Waterloo. Son: Josh and wife Corissa Pankey of Cedar Falls. Three grandchildren. Two sisters: Sherri Swanson and husband Gerald Leach of Waterloo; Debbie Jelinek of Pekin, Illinois.
She is preceded in death by her parents.

Zelda L. Stevens
Zelda Lorraine Stevens, 82, of Waterloo, died Friday, August 15, 2003, at Salsbury Baptist Home, Charles City. She was born May 4, 1921 in Winthrop, Iowa, daughter of Thelma Marie (Davis) and George Burdette Postel. The eldest of five children, she grew up in Evansdale, Iowa and graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1939.
Zelda worked as a secretary at a number of places: during high school for the Waterloo Public Schools, at Abbott Laboratories in California (where she was Abbot's War Bond Beauty Queen), at Geerlings Feed Mills, at the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, and for Podiatrists Dr. Smith and Dr. Moberey, which evolved into Dr. Lantz and Dr. Weires, where she retired in 1989.
Zelda met George Alton Stevens and they were married June 11, 1955 at First Baptist Church in Waterloo. They were blessed with three children. She was a voting poll worker, Girl Scout and Cub Scout leader, member and officer in PEO Chapter JP, member National Secretaries Assoc., member Waterloo Women's Club, member of church circles at First United Methodist, and Cedar Heights Baptist where she was a member and attended Adult Sunday School, and a member of a bridge club, sewing club and "lunch bunch." Zelda's hobbies included sewing, knitting, crafting, doing gorgeous counted cross-stitch, collecting spoons, bears, and thimbles, working jigsaw and crossword puzzles, playing board games, and listening to music of all kinds.
Zelda is survived by her husband George; daughter Patricia (John) Mauser of Indianapolis; daughter Gayle (Paul) Wilcox of Charles City; son Eric Alton Stevens of Marion; grandson David (Julie) Mauser and great grandchildren Clara and Henry of Indianapolis; granddaughter Karen (Frank) DeWitt IV and great grandchildren Jaima and Justin of Honeoye Falls, NY; granddaughter Susan (John) Spiegel of Gas City, IN; granddaughter Beth (Charley) Moore of West Lafayette, IN; grandson Kevin Alton Mauser of Indianapolis; grandson Nathan Stevens Wilcox of Norman, OK; granddaughter Emily Ruth Wilcox of Charles City. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers Burdette and Marvin, and two sisters Wanda Fairbanks and YaVonne Cooley.

John R. Stewart
John R. Stewart, 89, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, March 31, 2004 at Allen Memorial Hospital. He was born November 29, 1914 on the family farm in Dunkerton, Iowa, the son of James and Lena (McMillin) Stewart.
John graduated from Dunkerton High School in 1934. He married Margaret Crawford on March 20, 1940 in Waterloo; they just celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary. He farmed the family’s century farm, established in 1867 until retiring in 1996 and moving with his wife to Friendship Village.
John was proud of his Scottish heritage. He was able to see his family home place when he took a trip to Scotland in 1994. He enjoyed the spring time. He especially looked forward to being able to get in the field. John was a New York Yankee fan and a Hawkeye fan. He was proud of the Dunkerton basketball team for just winning the State Championship. He was a family man who loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren.
John is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, Jim Stewart of Cedar Falls; son, J.T. Stewart of Sandia Park, New Mexico; son, Timothy Stewart of Iowa City; daughter, JoAnn Torpey and her husband, Dale of Washington, Iowa; daughter, Suzanne Torkelson and her husband, Eric of West Des Moines; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
John is preceded in death by infant twin children, John and Margaret and 5 sisters; Lavina Bailey, Kathryn Rooney, Christine May, Grace Huffhines and Margaret Stewart.

Arthur O. Stille
Arthur O. Stille, 46, died Monday, October 20, 2003 from injuries suffered in an automobile accident. He was born July 6, 1957 in Charles City, Iowa. He is the son of Everett (Shirley) Doty Stille. Art graduated from Janesville High School in 1975 and attended Ellsworth Community College, Hawkeye Tech and the American Institute of Business.
He married Pamela Schubich on May 14, 1994 in the Little Brown Church, Nashua. Art owned and operated L.A.E. Construction Company and was currently working for Operation Threshold in the Housing Department and Chore Worker for the Helping Seniors Program, since July of 1999.
He is survived by his wife Pam. Three step-children: Sally Blanco of Waterloo; Sarah and husband Julien Mirivel of Westminister, Colorado; Nicholas Schubich of Waterloo. Three grandchildren: Ashley, Zaron and James. Mother: Shirley Stille of Janesville. Sister: Chris and husband Rob Rake of Vincent, Iowa.
Art is preceded in death by his father and child: Baby Stille in infancy.

Fae A. Sutherland
Fae A. Sutherland, 88, of Friendship Village, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004 at Friendship Village, of natural causes. She was born March 18, 1916, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Ernest and Ada (Parker) Sutherland. She graduated from East Waterloo High School in 1935.
Fae had piano students right after graduating from high school, until working for six years as the bookkeeper for Paul Hutchins, Author of the “Sugar Creek Gang” books. She then went to work at Rath Packing Co. in 1944, retiring as a keypunch operator in 1978.
Fae was a member of the Walnut Ridge Baptist Church and she played the piano in the “Beginner Department” there, and continued to do so for forty years. Fae dedicated her entire life to her nieces, nephews, and friends. Her family was very precious to her. She enjoyed each day and looked forward to when the mail came. Fae traveled to twenty-three different states and seven foreign countries. There were five different kinds of cookies and two different kinds of fudge that Fae loved to bake. She always made them for her nieces and her nephews when they would come to visit. Everybody who knew Fae, knew all about her “PIG” collection and were happy to present her with their newest addition to add to her collection.
She is survived by her sister, Carol Douglass; and several nieces and nephews.
Fae is preceded in death by her parents; and sister, L. Pauline Strock.

Winson Temple
Winson Temple, 86, of 1009 Hammond Avenue, died on Friday, January 21, 2005 at Ravenwood Nursing and Rehab Center. She was born October 24, 1918 in Reinbeck, Iowa, the daughter of Earl Dean and Hazel (Shumway) Wallace. She graduated from Reinbeck High School and received her Bachelor’s Degree and Masters Degree from UNI.
Winson married Ellery J. Temple in 1946 in India. They were later divorced. She worked for the Red Cross during WWII and immediately after, then as a teacher in the Waterloo Community School District at Kreig, Roosevelt and Hawthorne schools, retiring in 1980. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Waterloo and also a member of Mensa. Winson devoted all of her time and energy to her church and family. She was intelligent and very giving to her friends and family. She was a very independent person with high values and standards. Winson loved her great-grandchildren. She had an extensive collection of dolls and enjoyed making dolls and doll clothing.
Winson is survived by her son, Ellery J. Temple Jr. of Waterloo; granddaughter, Andrea Timm and her husband, Troy of Waterloo; five great-grandchildren, Jasmine Temple, Nicole Temple, Bryce Temple and Joseph and Erin Timm. She is also survived by her step-sister, Carol Loy and her husband George of Waterloo; and aunt Ethel Campbell of Reinbeck, IA.
Winson was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Dean Wallace.

Delmar E. Terhune
Delmar E. "Del" Terhune, 81, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, August 5, 2003, at his residence.. He was born September 1921-20 in Tipton, Iowa, son of Otto E. and Emma Heyden Terhune. Del graduated from West High School in 1939.
He married Marlene Kruse on June 6, 1943, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miami, Fl. Del was a pattern maker at John Deere for 43 years, retiring in 1983 and during that time, he owned and operated the Pine Tree Motel, Waterloo and the Marx Lounge in La Porte City. He served in the Navy during WWII.
He was a member of the Trinity American Lutheran Church, American Legion, BPOE in Cape Coral, FL, Moose Lodge, Washburn and was a Major in the Civil Air Patrol.
Del is survived by his wife Marlene of Waterloo. Five children: LaDel Hoyle of West Des Moines; Kathy and husband Tom McGowan of Raymond; Mark Terhune of Ankeny; Tana and husband Carroll Allsup of La Porte City and Janelle Ahrens of Iowa City. Eight grandchildren: T.J. McGowan, Nicole McGowan, Eric Allsup, Mark A. Terhune, Lacey Terhune, Luke Terhune, Andrew Ahrens, Lindy Ahrens. Four great grandchildren: Terril Ross, Adonis McGowan, Mersadies McGowan, and Majestic Terhune.
He is preceded in death by his parents, two brothers: Clyde and Ray Terhune.

Max R. Teske, Jr.
Max R. Teske, Jr., 83, of Waterloo died Wednesday, August 27, 2003, at Bickford Cottage. Max was born July 7, 1920 in Eldora, Iowa, the son of Max R. and Nellie M. (Brickle) Teske.
Max graduated from West Waterloo High School in 1939, Iowa State Teachers College, and Drake University Law School. He received his law degree with honors February 7, 1954. He was admitted to the Iowa Bar February 19, 1954 and practiced law in Waterloo from June, 1954 until his retirement in 1982. Max served in the U.S. Army Air Force from September 15, 1942 until January 24, 1946 as a mechanic instructor on B24 and B29 bombers.
Max married Grace M. O'Brien June 4, 1950 at McIntire, Iowa. She died July 19, 1994.
Max was a member of the Black Hawk County, Iowa State, and American Bar Associations, president of the Black Hawk County Bar Assoc. 1968 - 1969, member of the Iowa Supreme Court Grievance Commission 1971 - 1985, member of the Black Hawk County Tuberculosis and Health Assoc. 1956 - 1971 and its president 1967 - 1968, and member of the Drake Chapter of the Order of The Coif.
Max is survived by his sister in law Delphine Teske of Waterloo and his niece Susan Spurgeon of Warsaw, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Grace, and brother Hollis L. Teske.

Roger Thomas
Roger Thomas, 65, of Waterloo died Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at his home of natural causes. Roger was born May 4, 1938 in Greene, Iowa the son of Ira and Ellen (Habermann) Thomas. He graduated from Greene High School.
Roger married Ida Ingles August 25, 1962 in Waterloo. He retired from IBP in 1999 and from the U.S. military after 20 years of service.
Roger took great pride in his 1971 Triumph Spitfire. He enjoyed collecting coins and had an extensive coin collection. Roger learned to garden from his mother and did as much gardening as the yard would allow. Roger was active at Bethel Presbyterian Church serving as a church Elder.
Roger is survived by his wife; 2 sons both of Waterloo David and his wife Oneida, and Daniel and his wife Jodi; he is survived by a daughter Diane Forney and her husband Tom of Waterloo; and Dusty the cat. Roger is also survived by 5 grandchildren: Daniel, Patrick, Kayli, Elisabeth, and Raeven; and 2 sisters Marjorie Knight and Helen Archer both of Pomona, California .
He is preceded in death by his parents and a sister Dorothy Forsythe.

Gladys M. (Dolly) Thompson
Gladys M. “Dolly” Thompson, 79, of 924 Bertch Avenue died on Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at Covenant Medical Center from complications of Emphysema. She was born on July 26, 1925 in Eagle Grove, Iowa, the daughter of Herman Haldor and Boletta (Bondhus) Heggebo. Her parent’s Norwegian Heritage played a special part in her life. They immigrated to America from Norway.
Dolly married Robert Boston in 1943. He died in WWII in Italy in 1945. She then married Merle Thompson in 1947. They were later divorced. She was a member of the Gold Star Wives of America and Waterloo VFW Ladies Auxiliary.
Dolly is survived by three daughters, Kathlyn Dettmer of Waterloo, Mary Koehler and her husband Steve of Winona, MN, and Jollene Slater and her husband Chuck of Waterloo; two sons, Kevin Thompson of Waterloo and David Thompson and his wife Patrice of Milan, IL; ten grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and brother Lawrence Heggebo and his wife Florence of Waterloo.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; and two brothers, Robert Heggebo and Marvin Heggebo.

Helena M. (Helen) Thompson
Helena M. (Helen) Thompson, 66, of 2930 Ranchero Road died Sunday December 14, 2003 at Covenant Medical Center from multiple health complications. Helena was born May 13, 1937 in Waterloo, Iowa the daughter of Berthold and Jessie (Hamilton) Kotscher. She graduated from Orange High School in 1955 and attended Omaha Business School.
Helena married Orin A. Thompson September 10, 1960 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo. She worked for Heislers Corporation until retiring in 1963 to stay home and raise her family. She was a very family oriented person and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Helena is survived by her husband Orin, a daughter Leanne Swope and her husband Tim Jr. of Waterloo, 2 grandchildren Carter and Addyson, 3 step grandchildren Brandi Lonetto (Swope) Brittany Swope and Brody Swope; and a brother John Kotscher and his wife LaRita of Pueblo West, Colorado. She is preceded in death by her parents.

Dorothy B. Townsend
Dorothy Bradley Townsend,84, of Waterloo died Thursday October 9, 2003 at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes. She was born Feb. 12, 1919 in Taopi, MN daughter of John & Emma Bradley. She married Dwight L. Townsend Feb. 8, 1943 in Waterloo, Iowa. Dwight passed away April 17, 1977.
Dorothy graduated from Waterloo West High School. She worked in the home until all three of her sons were in high school. The most important thing in her life were her sons. She then started working at Waterloo West High School and later worked at Wayne's Style Salon until she retired. She was an avid duplicate bridge player and a life master. She was also a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She descended from Daniel Boone, 5 Star General Omar Bradley, and actor Richard Boone. She was active in PTA, and in her church, Immanuel Presbyterian, Waterloo where she was an elder.
Survived by three sons: Jeffery L. (Mary) Townsend of Colorado Springs, CO; James D. (Terry) Townsend and Bradley L. (Sandy) Townsend, all of Waterloo. Six grandchildren; Ryan, Derek, Matt, Katie (Richmann), Mark and Jeni Townsend. One great granddaughter Rebekah Richmann.
Preceded in death by her mother, father, sister Mary B. Carstensen of Waverly.

Warren R. Turner
Warren R. Turner, 72, of Waterloo, IA died Wednesday, May 12, 2004 at his home from natural causes. He was born December 8, 1931 near Parkersburg, IA, the son of Rolland and Sue (Poe) Turner.
Warren married Joyce Margaret Murray on May 17, 1951. They were later divorced. He worked in the ham boning department and then retired in the electical department at Rath Packing. He was owner/operator for the Triangle Tap in Hudson for nine years. Warren was an associate member of the Hudson Amvets.
Warren is survived by his daughter, Dianna Darold of Hudson, IA; son, David "Mike" Turner of Waterloo, IA; son, Allen Turner or Salem, OR; daughter, Suzanne Flora of Twin Falls, ID; four sisters, Esther Thomas of Waterloo, IA, Arlene Flickinger and her husband, Kenny of Waterloo, IA, Doris Fleshner and her husband, Wayne of Cedar Falls, IA Donna Schock of Shellsburg, IA; twenty grandchildren, Warren Paul Jarman, Amy Turner, Sarah Kacher, Rena Stoffregan, Ed Shaffer, GInger Shaffer, Carrielane Williams, Bonnie Williams, Annie Williams, Daniel Turner, David Turner, Devon Turner, Andrew Turner, Dustin Turner, Patrick Darold, Deidre Darold, Lily Darold, Trina Flora, Ray Flora and Roy Flora; and nine great grandchildren.
Warren is preceded in death by his parents; son, Daniel Warren Turner; sister, Ardith Card; and two brothers, Russell and Howard.

Carl Ubben
Carl Ubben, 86, of Hudson, died Sunday, October 12, 2003, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. He was born November 12, 1916 in Hampton, Iowa, son of Rube and Tillie (Miller) Ubben.
Carl graduated from Hansel High School, Hansel, Iowa.
He married Virginia Strayer on June 12, 1941 in Hudson at her parent's home. During the mid 1950's Carl and Virginia owned and operated Hudson Mercantile. Also, Carl helped operate the Strayer Seed Farms, a family business which he retired from in 1980. He was a member of the Community Church of Hudson.
He is survived by his wife: Virginia. Son: Ronald and his wife Carolyn of Cedar Falls. Daughter: Kay and her husband Tom Grow of Eden Prairie, MN. Five grandchildren: Jeff Ubben, Mike Ubben, Jennifer Schwarzenbach, Heather Eyrich, and Danielle Kopetzki. Seven great grandchildren.
Carl is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Henry, Theodore, and Claus Ubben. Three sisters: Lena DeVries, Louise Jones, and Jennie Kotenbrink.

Virginia S. Ubben
Virginia S. Ubben, 85, of the Cedar Falls Western Home, died Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at Sartori Memorial Hospital of natural causes. She was born on May 22, 1919 in Hudson, the daughter of Bert and Velma (Martin) Strayer.
Virginia graduated from Hudson High School and attended Grinell College and Iowa State University. She married Carl Ubben on June 12, 1941 at her parent’s home. From 1942-1944 she worked for George Strayer at the American Soybean Association. In the mid 1950's, she and Carl owned and operated the Hudson Mercantile. She then worked for Ruan Transport as an office manager for 17 years, retiring in 1978.
Virginia is survived by her son, Ronald (Carolyn) Ubben of Cedar Falls; daughter Kay (Tom) Grow of Eden Prairie, Minnesota; five grandchildren, Jeff Ubben, Mike Ubben, Jennifer Schwarzenbach, Heather Eyrich, and Danielle Kopetzki; and eight great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by two brothers, George M. Strayer and R. Gordon Strayer.

T. Pauline Van Ee
T. Pauline Van Ee, 78, of 2547 Edgemont Ave., died Thursday, June 24, 2004 at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home. She was born December 15, 1925 the daughter of Raymond and Delila (Hare) Mc Millen. She graduated from Independence High School in 1942.
Pauline married Kelly Van Ee on July 20, 1946 in Fairbault, MN. He died January 17, 1997. She worked as a general foreman’s clerk at the John Deere Tractor Works for thirty years, retiring in 1978. She later gave tours at the John Deere Engine Works sharing her knowledge, love and pride for the big green machine. She was a very private person who was always extremely particular about her appearance and her home. She loved her family and devoted much of her time to her relationships with them. She was an excellent cook and always had time to fix a meal or fill a special request for peanut butter cookies for grandson Rob or chocolate mayonnaise cake for Junior. She always had time to sit down and have a cup of coffee, visit and make you feel welcome in her home.
Pauline is survived by two daughters: Sandy (John) Marsau of Waterloo and Nancy(Bob) Rinehart of Montezuma; six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren: Rob (Trish) Hall and their daughter, Isabella; Sara Marsau; Bill (Stacy) Marsau; Kim (Scott) Runyon, and their children: Taylor and Jamie; Julie (Ken) Gilge, and their children: Shane, Brittany, and Ben: Ron (Tricia) Rinehart, and their son Owen; and a sister, Evelyn Miller of Independence, IA.
She is preceded in death by her husband; and two sisters, Lillian Axline and Leta Belle Heiserman.

Daniel R. Wagner
Daniel R. Wagner, 51, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, April 07, 2004 at Knoxville VA Medical Center in Knoxville, Iowa. He was born May 29, 1952 in Waterloo, the son of Paul and Mary (Zabel) Wagner.
He graduated from West High School, Waterloo in 1970. He served in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam and recently worked at Bertch Cabinets in Jesup, IA.
Dan attended Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. He was a wonderful brother, a terrific Uncle and a great neighbor and friend. He especially enjoyed long conversations and helping people. He was intelligent and very witty.
He is survived by his sister, Paulette Meyers and her husband, Steve of Waterloo, IA. Two brothers, Steven Wagner and his wife, Lori of Overland Park, KS; Thomas Wagner and his wife Becky of Waterloo, IA; eight nieces and nephews, Liisa Farmer, Jon Meyers, Joel Meyers, Michele Waltrip, Heidi Wagner, Stephanie Remington, Benjamin Wagner and Emily Wagner. Nine great nieces and nephews, Sam, Luke, David, Lilli, Andy, Pete, Gracie, Jordan and Abbie.
Dan is preceded in death by his parents.
