Died Thursday, September 22, 2005 at his sister’s home in Galway
Born in Mt Vernon, August 5, 1947, he was the son of Constance McHugh and the late George McHugh. He served in the United States Army. Thomas worked in quality control and assurance at the former Seabrook Atomic Plant in Seabrook, New Hampshire for many years. He later worked as a chef at Professor Moriarty’s in Saratoga Springs.
Survivors include his mother Constance J. McHugh of Greenfield Center, 3 brothers Leonard McHugh of Greenfield Center, Frankie McHugh of California and George McHugh of Saratoga Springs; 3 sisters Viola Wagner of Indiana, Sharon (Avon) Clements of Saratoga Springs and Georgeann (William) Boerenko of Galway. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Henry G. Kindt
Of Ballston Spa, died of pneumonia at Saratoga Care Nursing Home at 3:10am on Sunday, September 18, 2005. Mr. Kindt was born in Albany, NY on January 2, 1914, the son of Henry Christian and Anna (Kurtz) Kindt.After graduating from Albany Business College in 1934, Henry worked at a variety of jobs before volunteering for the Army in which he served for 4 ¾ years with the 801st Tank Destroyer Battalion. In the European Theater of operations during World War II, Tech Sgt. Henry Kindt participated in the invasion of Normandy and in five major battle campaigns, including the Battle of the Bulge. He was a life member of Robert L. Weininger VFW Post No 8692 in Colonie and also belonged to the Troop B Cavalry Veterans Association of Albany.As a youth, Henry was a communicant of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Albany where he was confirmed at about age 13. In 1953, at age 39, he was baptized by immersion at the former Union Street Christian Church in Schenectady where he also served as a deacon and as Sunday School Superintendent. From 1979 until his hospitalization, he was a faithful worshiper at the First Baptist Church of Ballston Spa where he served on the finance committee and as volunteer financial adviser and bookkeeper for the Church Mouse Nursery School. He also assisted his wife in her work as an ESL tutor with Literacy Volunteers.On November 24, 1943, while stationed at Camp Hood, Henry was married to Eulalie Climer at the Central Church of Christ in Temple, Texas. After the war, the couple settled in the Capital District area of New York where Henry had grown up. They have lived in Troy, Colonie, Clifton Park and, since 1979, in Ballston Spa. In January of that year, after more that 33 years with the former Covert Manufacturing Company in Watervliet, Henry retired as comptroller and office manager. In retirement until almost age 88, he enjoyed swimming at the Saratoga “Y” and frequent games of golf at Saratoga Spa State Park. He much enjoyed being outdoors and was most aware of God’s awesome majesty while admiring the great beauty of His natural world. His favorite place of all time was in the Adirondacks of New York, especially in the areas around Lake George where he spent the vacations of his youth and where he went camping with his own young family. He was a loyal friend and a faithful, gentle, loving husband and father.
He is survived by his wife of almost 62 years, Eulalie; two daughters Cheryl (James) Holley of Vestal and Lisa G. Kindt of Latham; one granddaughter Tanya Brozost (Andrew) Paine of Ithaca; one grandson Adam J. (Kristina) Brozost of Darmstadt, Germany; one niece Marlene Cooper (Otto) Andress of Burnt Hills; one nephew Sheldon (Margie) Cooper of Sun City, Arizona and several grandnieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sister and brother in law Helene and Spencer R. Cooper.
We will celebrate his new birth 11am Saturday, September 24, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. A calling hour will precede the service from 10-11am Saturday at the funeral home. Burial with full military honors will follow in Memory’s Garden, 983 Watervliet Shaker R

Richard M. Nolan, Sr
Of Lewis Road, Ballston Spa.
Died suddenly Monday, September 12, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Schenectady, February 11, 1947, he was the son of the late Charles and Deloris Nolan. Richard worked for General Electric Co in Schenectady for 12 years and later worked for Saratoga County Buildings and Grounds Maintenance Department for 24 years. He had a great sense of humor and loved animals. He was a loving husband and father and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by a brother Charles Nolan, Jr. Survivors include his wife of 24 years Sharon May Nolan; his son Richard M. Nolan, Jr of Ballston Spa; sister Elizabeth (Bette) Theberge and her husband Ronald of Oakdale, Minnesota; mother in law and father in law Helen and Ken Robbins of Galway. He is also survived by several brother in laws, sister in laws, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9:30am Thursday at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends are invited to calling hours on Wednesday evening from 6-9pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.

Leon F. "Tinker" Martin, Jr
Of Bath Street, Ballston Spa.
Died Friday, September 9, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Saratoga Springs, June 27, 1927, he was the son of Emily Martin and the late Leon Martin, Sr. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Tinker worked for Canteen for many years and later for the Ballston Area Community Center, retiring in 2001.He was a member of Ballston Spa Elks, VFW Post 358, and American Legion Post 234 in Ballston Spa. He was an avid softball pitcher and sports fan.
He was predeceased by his son Keith Martin, his first wife Isabelle Martin, second wife Ann Martin and sister Marilyn Thomas. Survivors include his mother Emily Martin of Saratoga Springs, 3 brothers Gary Martin of Ballston Spa, Glenn Martin of Ballston Spa and David Martin of St Louis, MO; 2 sisters Marlene Denison of Ballston Spa and Midge McHale of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Rosebud A. Noonan
Formerly of North Street, Ballston Spa.
Died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital.
Born in Milton Center, June 2, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Mary LaDucer. Mrs. Noonan was a homemaker and enjoyed needlepoint, embroidery and cross-stitch. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Noonan
Survivors include her nephew Irv (Trudy) LaDucer of Ballston Spa; 2 great nieces Sheri Litchfield of Broadalbin and Rebecca Potter of Ballston Spa; special friends Tim (Jonell) Morey of Ballston Spa, Matthew Morey of Ballston Spa, Chance Morey of Ballston Spa, Beth Morey of Ballston Spa, Todd Morey of Massachusetts and Phillip (Marge) Morey of Ballston Spa. She is also survived by 2 great great nieces and 2 great great nephews.

Leonard C. Staulters
Of Goode Street, Ballston Spa.
Died Wednesday, September 7, 2005 at Albany Medical Center.
Born in Saratoga Springs, August 31, 1926, he was the son of late Carl and Lillian Staulters. He was an Army veteran of WWII serving in the Pacific.
Len was a mechanic and then service manager for Craig Cadillac in Saratoga Springs and later owned and operated the former Village Squire in Ballston Spa for 20 years, retiring in 1987. He was a member and past commander of American Legion Post 234 in Ballston Spa. He was the past county commander of Saratoga and past Chef Degar. He was a former Saratoga Co Sheriff Deputy and Constable in the Town of Ballston. He was a life member of VFW Post 358 in Ballston Spa and a member of Clifton Park Elks. He was also a member and past president of the Ballston Spa Lions Club.
He was predeceased by his second wife Marcella Staulters.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara Staulters; 2 sons William Staulters and his wife Terri of Rotterdam, Carl Staulters and his wife Bev of Amsterdam; 2 stepsons David DiPasquale and his wife Priscilla of Overland, Kansas and Raymond Plummer of Elmira; daughter Debbie Plummer of Ballston Spa; brother Maynard (Dorothy) Staulters of Angola, Indiana; sister Ruth Bellinger of Ballston Spa; and mother in law and father in law Joseph and Julia Brooks of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10am Monday at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga. Alice M. Taylor
Formerly of Ballston Spa.
Passed away Saturday, September 3, 2005 at Montgomery Meadows in Amsterdam.
Born in Millbrook, April 13, 1911, she worked at Ackshand Knitting Co in Ballston Spa for many years. She later worked for Lane’s Dept Store in Poughkeepsie and The Salvation Army in Poughkeepsie and retired from Kmart in Glenville. Alice was a very special and loving mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. She also loved her pets very much, especially her cats.
She was predeceased by her husband of 65 years Kenneth L. Taylor.
Survivors include her children Pete (Lottie) Taylor of Ballston Spa, Bill (Carolyn) Taylor of Rock City Falls, Don (Mary) Taylor of Hyde Park, Kenny (Nancy) Taylor of Porter Corners, Joyce (Ronald) Oakley of Hyde Park, Joan (Don) Weil of Stattsburg and Janice (William) Mason of St. Petersburg, Florida. She is also survived by 21 Grandchildren, 30 Great Grandchildren, 5 Great Great Grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Donald L. Hardesty
Of Ballston Spa.
Died Saturday, August 27, 2005 at the DVA Medical Center in Albany.
Born in Scotia, August 16, 1925, he was the son of the late Llewelyn and Lois Hardesty. He was an Army veteran of WWII and was awarded a purple heart. Donald worked for Rocky Mountain Gas Co in Aspen, Colorado for many years. Upon his retirement, he resided in Sand Point, Idaho and Thailand and returned to this area in 2001. He was a world traveler and was interested in the environment. He enjoyed skiing, hiking and spending time in the outdoors.
He was predeceased by a daughter Sheryl Hardesty.
Survivors include his 2 daughters Pamela Hardesty of Tucson, Arizona and Donna Higley of Ballston Spa; his sister Elaine (Charles) Turnbull of Scotia and 5 Grandchildren Holly Deutchman, Catherine Higley, Clare Higley, Matthew Searl and Sarah Hardesty. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A service with full military honors will be held 2pm Friday, September 9, at the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga. Garry A. Novatsky
Of DeForest Street, Schenectady.
Died Thursday, September 1, 2005 at Elllis Hospital after a long illness.
Born in Niskayuna, January 18, 1949, he was the son of Beverly Joyce Novatsky and the late Anthony Novatsky. Garry worked for A.B. Dick in Albany for many years and later for DHL in Latham.
Survivors include his mother Beverly Joyce Novatsky of Ballston Spa and several cousins.
Funeral services will be held 9:30am Tuesday at St Mary's Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. Janet M. Tetreault
Of Stone Church Road, Ballston Spa.
Died Wednesday, August 31, 2005 at her daughter’s home.
Born in Malone, June 9, 1931, she lived in Ballston Spa for most of her life. She was a homemaker. Janet enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making crafts and BINGO. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son David Sicard
Survivors include her 4 children Linda Sicard of Ballston Spa and her finance Trace Kohl, Debi (Gordon) Bryant of Ballston Spa, Kevin (Manon) Tetreault of Saratoga Springs and Richard Sicard of Ballston Spa; her sister Shirley Lorman of Saratoga Springs and a special niece Marie Hawkins of Gansevoort. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robert W. Harris, Jr.
Of Route 9, Malta.
Died Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at DVA Medical Center in Albany.
Born in Cookeville, Tennessee, June 9, 1926, he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Harris, Sr. He was an Army veteran of World War II. Robert was a truck driver for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans Association. He enjoyed camping.
Survivors include his wife Marcia Tangen Harris, his son Robert W. Harris III of Colorado Springs, CO; 4 Stepdaughters: Cynthia McGuire of Niskayuna, Sandra Eriksen of Sprakers, Laurel Williams of Cobleskill and Lynda Neilsen of Canajoharie; 2 sisters Linda Seigel and Sherry Renzi of Phoeniz, AZ. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Monday at the Alliance Church 257 Rowland Street, Ballston Spa. A calling hour will precede the service from 11am to 12 noon at the church. Burial with full military honors will follow at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga.

Robert Bordeau
Formerly of Ballston Spa.
Passed away suddenly Monday, August 8, 2005 in Vallejo, California.
Born in Ballston Spa, April 10, 1962, he was the son of the late Richard and Jean Bordeau. Robert worked for Quad Graphics in Saratoga Springs for many years and later owned and operated a landscaping business in Vallejo, California. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoyed archery, boating and riding motorcycles.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother Rodney Bordeau
Survivors include his daughter, Tina Antonucci of Ballston Spa; Granddaughter, Alexes Antonucci; Sister, Robin Bordeau of Anniston, Alabama; 2 Brothers, Ronnie Bordeau and his wife Rebecca of Ballston Spa, and Richy Bordeau of Schenectady; 2 Step-brothers, Ricky Bordeau of Vallejo, CA, and Randy Bordeau of Ballston Spa, He is also survived by several nieces and nephews

Salvy J. Prisco
Of Science Street, Ballston Spa.
Died Monday, August 8, 2005 at Saratoga Hospital surrounded by his family.
Born in Ballston Spa, September 27, 1920, he was the son of the late Ernest and Betty Prisco. He served in the US Navy during World War II. He was a fireman first class on a destroyer in the pacific in two major conflicts. Salvy was a patrolman for the Ballston Spa Police Department. He received a commendation from the Ballston Spa Board of Trustees and the Saratoga Co Sheriff’s Dept for his alertness and quick thinking. He served as village justice for eight years. He later worked as a carpenter at the Kesselring Site in West Milton for 18 years, retiring in 1980. He was a member of Local 370 Carpenters Union of Albany, American Legion Post 234 of Ballston Spa and VFW Post 358 of Ballston Spa. He was an honorary life member of Union Fire Co No 2 in Ballston Spa and played in the fire department band. He was the founder of Abner Doubleday Society and served as chairman of the board. He was also a member of the NYS Magistrates Association and St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa.
It was love at first sight when Salvy married Dorothy Little on March 21, 1942.
He was predeceased by his son Salvy Prisco and his daughter Marcia Curran
Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years Dorothy Prisco; his daughter Sandra Ketchen of Hingham, Massachusetts; 9 grandchildren Michelle Ketchen Southworth, William Ketchen, Kathy Small, Michael Curran, Jackie Simons, Shane Curran, Toni Prisco Luckett, Elizabeth Prisco and Joe Prisco;
5 great grandchildren Thomas Huffcut, Andrew Small, Gina McCarthy, Winston Southworth and Olivia Simons.
Funeral services will be held 9:30am Friday at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. Janet M. Girard
Formerly of Johnstown.
Died Saturday, August 6, 2005 at Mt Loretto Nursing Home in Amsterdam.
Born in Johnstown, November 16, 1932, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mabel Schulenburg. Janet was manager at Twin City Dry Cleaners in Johnstown for many years, retiring in 1995.
Survivors include her husband of 52 years Bernard Girard, Sr; her children Cheryl Walsh of Gloversville, Bernard Girard, II of Malta and Rodney Girard of Malta; her sister Geraldine Smullen of Meco and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Lorretto Nursing Home 302 Swart Hill Road Amsterdam, NY 12010.

Richard H. Martin
Of Eastern Avenue, Ballston Lake.
Died Tuesday, August 2, 2005 at the VA Hospital in Albany.
Born in Schenectady. September 9, 1943 he was the son of the late James and Gertrude Martin. Mr. Martin served in the United States Navy during the Cuban Crisis. He worked at Ellis Hospital in Schenectady for several years. He married Louisa Bollman on June 8, 1972
He was predeceased by his sister Florence Kruse and brother James L. Martin, Jr
He is survived by his wife Louisa Martin; 2 brothers William Martin of Amarillo, Texas and Thomas (Barbara) Martin of Ballston Spa. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to a graveside service with full military honors 1:30pm Friday at the Gerald B H Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Duell Road, Town of Saratoga. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.

Robert A. Ballentine
Of Birchtree Lane, Ballston Spa.
Died Monday, August 1, 2005 at Wesley Health Care Center in Saratoga Springs.
Born in Pelham, NY, May 4, 1922 he was the son of the late Robert and Minnie Ballentine. He moved to this area in 1983. Mr. Ballentine served in the US Army, Tropic Lightning 25th Division. He served 2 tours in World War II and was in Oahu, Hawaii when Pearl Harbor was attacked. He also served in the Korean War. He retired from the Army in 1964 as a Sergeant First Class. He was a member of the American Legion of Delmar and the Delmar Masonic Lodge.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years Leigh Ballentine; 2 daughters Dale Aske and her husband Wesley of Syracuse and Leslie A. Provence of Florida; son Robert A. Ballentine II and his wife Lynn of Pennsylvania; 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandsons.
A graveside service with full military honors will be held at Gerald BH Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery, Town of Saratoga at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to the Saratoga County Animal Shelter, 6010 County Farm Road, Ballston Spa, NY 12020

DANIEL R. GOODWIN, 21
Of Garnsey Road, Rexford. Died, Sunday, March 6 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Niskayuna, December 9, 1983, he was the son of Timothy Goodwin and Mary Howard. He was a graduate of Saratoga Springs High School. Daniel was a corrections officer for the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department. He enjoyed baseball and dirt bikes.

ERNEST W. JOHNSON, 88
Of Greenfield Center. Passed away Saturday, March 5, 2005 at Julie Blair Nursing Home, Albany. Born in Albany, November 28, 1916, he was the son of the late Walter and Mary Johnson. He lived in Ballston Spa for most of his life.
Mr. Johnson owned and operated Ernie’s Auto Parts in Ballston Spa for over 50 years. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of the American Legion Post 234 in Ballston Spa, Milton Senior Citizens and the Buckskin Hunt Club.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years Dorothy Johnson, his daughter Elaine Kleam of Greenfield Center and his son Lawrence Johnson of Boston, Massachusetts.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 234, 23 Pleasant Street, Ballston Spa, NY 12020.
