Of Knickerbocker Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, June 9, 2007 at Albany Medical Center. Born in Corinth, January 7, 1946, she was a homemaker. Phyllis was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Ballston Spa. She volunteered at Noah’s Attic. She was a member and president of VFW Post 358 Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed cooking and gardening.
She was predeceased by her husband James Thomas. She is survived by her children Mikki Jones of Greenfield Center and Harold Hamm of Virginia; her mom and dad Geraldine and Raymond Mercier of Ballston Spa; brothers and sisters Linda (Doug) Allen of Ballston Spa, Peter Haines of Ballston Spa, Jerry Haines of Arizona, Raymond Mercier of Colorado, Wayne Mercier of Ballston Spa and Bambi Mercier of Ballston Spa; close companion Jerry Ovitt of Ballston Spa and several nieces and nephews.

Joseph W. Mrozek, Jr
Of Sweet Road, Ballston Lake, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2007 at Ellis Hospital. Born in Schenectady, June 21, 1928, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helen Mrozek, Sr. Joe was a dairy farmer. He also worked as an electrician for General Electric Co in Schenectady for many years. He was an active member and served as president of the Saratoga County National Farmers Organization.
He was predeceased by his daughter Janet Rhude, brother Stanley Chojnacki and 2 sisters Helen Wojes and Dorothy Plesko. He is survived by his wife Jean Mrozek; 3 sons Ronald (Cindy) Mrozek, Kevin (Gail) Mrozek and Joseph (Amelia) Mrozek III all of Ballston Lake; 8 grandchildren Megan, Michael, Peter, Tim, Lucia, Joey, Keya and Amy; 4 great grandchildren Cody, Zachary, Jake and Douglas and several nieces and nephews.

David A. Seelow
Of Centerline Road, Galway, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at his home. Born in Amsterdam, February 10, 1960, he was the son of Leonard Seelow and Maxine Nadler. He served in the United States Army. He received a Commendation Medal for his heroic efforts in saving the life of a young girl. David liked to operate heavy equipment. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. His greatest joy was spending time with his family and friends.
He is survived by his daughter Megan Seelow of Gloversville; father and stepmother Leonard and MaryAnn Seelow of Middle Grove; mother Maxine Nadler of Providence; 4 sisters Debbie (Carl) VanCuren of Broadalbin, Darlene Abeling of Galway, Dorene (Stanley Jr) Seelow-Podolec of Galway, Dawn (Jim) Galarneau of Charlton; and several nieces and nephews.

Barbara J. Green
Of Grove Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at her home. Born in Ballston Spa, November 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Jennie Dorman. Barbara was an income tax preparer for H&R Block for over 35 years. She owned and operated the former Elderly Things For Sale Antique Shoppe with her father for many years. She was blessed with five generations of girls in her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Thomas Green, 3 children Sandra (Frank) Gratton of Saratoga Springs, John Stephens of Glenville and Pamela (Robert) Schrade of Ballston Spa; 5 grandchildren Marie, Michael and Kathleen Gratton, Samantha Stephens and Danielle Schrade; 3 great grandchildren Erica Mulvaney and Michael and Nicholas Gratton; great great granddaughter Brooke Mulvaney; sister Shirley Ballard of Ballston Spa, brother Vincent Dorman of Ballston Spa, several nieces and nephews and her beloved granddog Buddy.

Joseph C. Klementowski
Of Galway, was ushered into Heaven on May 31, 2007. Born in Amsterdam, August 14, 1920, he was the son of the late Emil and Mary Klementowski. He attended Parkis Mills School. Joe worked for the Galway school system for 25 years, retiring in 1985. He was a volunteer for the Boy Scouts and the Meals on Wheels program. He was active in the local senior citizens and attended Providence Baptist Church. As a foster parent to over 60 children, he will be missed by all who knew him.
He was predeceased by his brother Edward Klementowski, daughter in law Roberta Klementowski and 3 grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Beulah Reynolds Klementowski; 9 children Ronald and Teresa Klementowski of Harlem, Georgia, David Klementowski of Duanesburg, Edward Klementowski of Galway, Shirley and John White of Galway, Larry and Diana Klementowski of Greenfield, Pamela and Michel Fontaine of Greenfield, Paul and Rose Klementowski of Scotia, Annette and Jim Hall of Ephratah and Darlene Norton of Hudson Falls; daughter in law Linda Klementowski of Galway; sister Jennie Lesniewski of Hagaman, 3 brothers John Clemens of Saratoga Springs, Michael Klementowski of Hagaman and George Klementowski of Ballston Spa. He was known as Papa Joe to 3 generations of beloved grandchildren. He leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald E. Feeney
Of Middleline Road, Ballston Lake, passed away Friday, May 4, 2007 at Wesley Health Care Center. Born in Saratoga Springs, July 16, 1920, he was the son of the late Erle and Ruth Baumgartner. Donald worked for Price Chopper for over 20 years, retiring in 1987. He enjoyed working on the family farm and taking long walks on the farm, with his family. He was a member of the Ballston Grange and the Saratoga County Farm Bureau.
He was predeceased by 2 sisters Elinor Hanehan and Laura King. He is survived by 2 children Brian (Marcella) Feeney of Ballston Lake and Sheri (Laszlo) Cseh of Ballston Lake; 5 grandchildren Brianne Feeney, Erica Conklin, Sommer Conklin, Gregory Feeney and Joseph Feeney; 2 sisters Margaret Silburn of Michigan and Barbara Mitchell of Greenfield; and several nieces and nephews.

Joan J. Wemple
Of Armer Road, Rock City Falls, passed away Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Gloversville, December 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Olive Johnson. Joan worked at General Electric Co in Schenectady for 25 years, retiring in 1992. She was an avid reader and enjoyed crossword puzzles, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her son Keith Wemple. She is survived by her husband of 53 years Bernard H. Wemple; 2 sons Steven A. Wemple of Rock City Falls and Brian H. Wemple of Providence; 2 grandchildren Christopher Wemple of Rock City Falls and Kristi Wemple of Providence; mother in law Flora Wemple of Mayfield; a stepsister, several half brothers, half sisters, nieces and nephews.

Of Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at his home. Born in Williston, North Dakota, January 25, 1939, he was the son of the late Nels and Clara Larsen. He served in the US Navy and worked at several area businesses.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers Robert and Michael Larsen and sister Joyce Schaff. He is survived by his 3 children Theresa Marshall of Ballston Spa, Kenneth Larsen of Valley Falls and Eric Larsen of Saratoga Springs; 2 brothers Jerry Larsen of Sydney, Montana and Willie Larsen of Williston, North Dakota; sister Patricia Olson of Williston, North Dakota; 5 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Edward P. Adams
Edward Philip Adams, 92, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Maplewood Manor. Born in, Schenectady, June 6, 1914, he was the son of the late John Rak and Mary Mikulinska, he lived the past 60 years in Ballston Spa. He was a 1932 graduate of Scotia High School and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Idaho during the 1930’s. In 1948 he purchased Ballston Motor Sales and operated the Pontiac dealership until his first retirement in 1978. He was a realtor for Manor Homes by Blake for the next 20 years. A member of the Ballston Spa Lions Club, he was an avid bowler, hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed boating on Lake George with family and friends.
He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years Amelia “Min” Denty, his daughter Ann Adams and her husband Gerald Kusler of DeKalb Junction, NY, a son John and his wife, Cynthia Adams, two grandchildren Benjamin and Hanna, all of Granby, CT, and a special niece, Jane Brehm of Scotia, NY.

Of Queensbury and formerly of Ballston Spa, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Glens Falls Hospital. Born in the town of Milton, April 27,1914, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Nellie Baker.
Survivors include her brother Clarence Baker and his wife Evelyn of Pottersville; 2 nephews Lee Baker and his wife Molly of Alaska and Roy Baker of Schroon Lake; and a great niece Stacey Baker.

Katherine Spurling
Of Rock City Falls, passed away Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Maplewood Manor in Ballston Spa. Born in Myjava, Czechoslovakia, August 20, 1916, she was the daughter of the late Stefan and Susie Margetiak. She was married to the late John E. Spurling in New York City, May 1943. They lived in St Johnsville and later moved to Rock City Falls in 1970.
She was predeceased by her husband John E. Spurling and her sister Betty Kalman. She is survived by her son John S. Spurling of Rock City Falls.

Of East High Street, Ballston Spa, passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Paris, Illinois, March 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late John and Lois Vandygriff. June was the owner and operator of Ye Olde Wishin’ Shoppe in Saratoga Springs for many years. She enjoyed collecting and selling antiques. She was a member of the Malta Ridge United Methodist Church. Her greatest joy was spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her daughter Debi Petteys. Formerly of New Canaan, CT and Manchester, NJ, passed away Sunday, April 22, 2007 at Maplewood Manor, Ballston Spa. Born in New York City, July 18, 1913, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Brita Olivia Malberg. Mrs. Engelhardt raised her family in New Canaan, CT and retired to Manchester, NJ in 1980. She later moved to Ballston Spa, NY in 2004. She and her late husband were active in the United Methodist Church in New Canaan, CT and the Lakehurst United Methodist Church in Manchester, NJ. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and traveling to visit her family up north.
She was predeceased by her husband Earl W. Engelhardt; brother Arthur Malberg and 2 sisters Ruth and Agnes Malberg. She is survived by her son William Engelhardt of Ballston Spa and daughter in law Sally Engelhardt of Ballston Spa.

Thomas J. Kelley
Of Malta, finished his life on Friday, April 20, 2007 at St. Peter’s Hospice in Albany. He was born in Port Henry, November 18, 1926, he was the son of the late Harold and Luraine Kelley. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Kelley was a NYS Trooper for 25 years, retiring in 1975. He served in Troop B and Troop G. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Ballston Spa.
He was predeceased by 3 brothers and 4 sisters. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Charlotte Kelley; daughter Maggi (Nick) Ruisi of Malta; granddaughter Carly Ruisi; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Kenneth J. Fortune
Of Burgoyne Road, Schuylerville, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Brooklyn, April 27, 1954, he was the son of the late George and Helen Fortune. Kenneth was the sales manager at Village Mobile Home Brokerage in Ballston Spa for many years. He enjoyed riding Harley Davidson motorcycles and collected motorcycle memorabilia. He also enjoyed landscaping.
He was predeceased by his brother Gerard Fortune. Survivors include his wife Yvonne Fortune; son Matthew Fortune of Schuylerville; 2 brothers Terrence Fortune of Galway and Joseph Fortune of Saratoga Springs; nieces and nephews Gerard Fortune Jr, Mariah Kosa, Sean Fortune and Ryan Fortune.

Leland (Mike) Ladd
Of Ballston Spa and South Glens Falls, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2007 at Glens Falls Hospital after a short battle with cancer. Born in Utica, January 6, 1938, he was the son of the late Robert and Evelyn Ladd. He graduated from Frankfort High School in 1955 and Hobart College in 1959.
Survivors include the mother of his two children Janet Ladd of Ballston Spa, his daughter Lauren (Michael) Giroux of Damascus, Maryland and his son Michael (Deirdre) Ladd of Saratoga Springs; 6 grandchildren Megan Elyse, Michael John and Mathew James Giroux; Jack William, Patrick Kelly and Declan James Ladd. He is also survived by many other family members and close friends.

Timothy S. Armer
Of Greenfield, passed away Monday, April 9, 2007 at his home. Born in Ballston Spa, March 30, 1954 he was the son of Archie and Ileen Armer. When Tim was growing up, he and his family showed registered Shetland ponies at many fairs and horse shows throughout the eastern United States. Tim worked in the family business, Dec-O-World, for many years. He was a talented snow and water skier. He enjoyed target shooting, motorcycles, hunting and music. He was an outdoorsman and enjoyed all outdoor activities.
He is survived by his daughter Jessica Armer of Charlton; parents Archie and Ileen Armer of Ballston Spa; sister Ardis Armer of Saratoga Springs; aunt Beatrice Urbaetis of Stillwater; and many cousins.

Of VanTassel Lane, Ballston Spa, passed away Sunday, April 8, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Ballston Spa, January 31, 1934, he was the son of the late Kenneth R. and Sadie Palmateer. He served in the US Army. Ken worked at Knolls Atomic Lab in West Milton, for 40 years, retiring in 1996. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was predeceased by his wife Lucy Palmateer and sister Katherine Boerenko. He is survived by his 2 sons Michael (Diane) Palmateer of Galway and Jamie (Susan Skinner) Palmateer of Middle Grove; 3 stepchildren Duane Lemere of California, Douglas (Kim) Lemere of Mississippi and Donna Abdalla of North Carolina; 2 grandchildren Tiffany and Lisa Palmateer; 7 step grandchildren Christian, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Phillip and Marc Lemere, Danielle Fischetti and Austin Webb; step great great granddaughter Emily Lemere; 2 sisters Lillie (Vernon) Wetmore of Galway and Mary (George) Hargrave of Galway; brother Robert (Wilma) Palmateer of North Carolina; close friends Harold and Janet Townsend of Ballston Spa and several nieces and nephews. Born in Rutland, VT, February 18, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Myrtle Shaw. Phyllis was an executive secretary at General Electric Co and then General Foods. She later owned and operated ARM Construction for many years. She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa. She enjoyed sewing and shopping. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Albert R. Mangino, Sr; son Albert R. Mangino, Jr of Ballston Spa, daughter Kimberly A. (Wayne) VanValkenburgh of Malta; 4 grandchildren Schuyler and Francesca Mangino and Wayne III and Victoria VanValkenburgh; 2 sisters Dorothy (Gaylord) Brunell of Ballston Spa and Robert (Jerry) Grolley of Saratoga Springs; and several nieces and nephews.

Lois Jane (Kiper) Bydairk
Of Robert Drive, Ballston Spa, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at St. Peter’s Hospice. Born in South Williamsport, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Gertrude Kiper. For a number of years, she was secretary for the Dean of Admissions at Skidmore College. She moved on to become administrative assistant at Saratoga Hospital for about 15 years. She then received her Bachelor of Science degree in Management from the College of Saint Rose and worked as a construction supervisor with P&V Construction for many years.
Mrs. Bydairk was a Korean War veteran and an active participant in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery Honor Guard for the past seven years. She was a member of the Halfmoon American Legion, Ballston Area Seniors and the United Methodist Church of Ballston Spa.
She was predeceased by her brother Tracy Kiper. She is survived by her husband of 56½ years Walter J. Bydairk; 2 sons Brett W. Bydairk of Columbia, SC and Tracy W. Bydairk of Ballston Spa; daughter Wendy Zimmerman and her husband Michael A. of North Andover, MA; proud grandmother of Eliza and Michaela Zimmerman; sister Shirley Towner of Elmira and several nieces and nephews.

Of Saratoga Lake, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007 at his home. Born in Brooklyn, April 29, 1945, he was the son of the late Michael and Elaine Zarro, Sr. Mr. Zarro worked for Local 190 in Glenmont for over 30 years, until his retirement. He was an avid Yankee fan and enjoyed traveling.
He was predeceased by his 2 daughters Antoinette Pickett and Denise Zarro. Survivors include his wife Carol Gleason Zarro; 2 sons James (Lorri) Zarro of Gansevoort and Michael Anthony Zarro of Glens Falls; brothers and sisters Eileen (Albert) Foster of Albany; Ronald Zarro of California; Rhoda (Robert) Maikels of Albany; Thomas Zarro of Florida and Robert (Mary) Zarro of California; 4 grandsons Brian Zarro, James Lorman, Matthew Zarro and Jessee Pickett; a great granddaughter Arianna Zarro-Ryan and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 9am Wednesday, April 11, at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the funeral home.
Isabella Mannino
Passed away Thursday April 5, 2007 at Wesley Health Care Center. Born in the Bronx, December 21, 1911, she was the daughter of the late Vincenzo and Beatrice Casalino. Mrs. Mannino worked for Troy District Shirt Company for many years. She later ran the G. E. X Market with her husband Joseph for many years. She thrived on giving and receiving the love of those she encountered. The family wishes to acknowledge the loving care she received from the staff at Wesley Health Care Center where she resided for the past seven years.
She was predeceased by her husband Joseph, her son Anthony Mannino and her daughter Beatrice Ellett. She is survived by her daughter Donna (Dean) Martin of Saratoga Springs; 7 grandchildren Deborah (Brad) Ripps, Antoinette (Dennis) DiPasquale, Mark Mannino, Karen Lee, Tracy (Michael) Hosier, Michele Martin and Michael Martin; 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
Funeral services will be held 8:30am Tuesday at St Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. Burial will follow in Memory’s Garden, Colonie. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday evening from 7-9pm at Armer Funeral Home, Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa. Isidore J. Culora
Of Casino Drive, Saratoga Springs, passed away Monday, April 2, 2007 at Saratoga Hospital. Born in Schenectady, October 19, 1927, he was the son of Guiseppe and Serafina Culora. He was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. Culora worked for General Electric Co in Schenectady and later for Ford Motor Company in Green Island for 30 years, retiring in 1986.
He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ballston Spa. He operated radio controlled airplanes and was a member of the Thundervolts and Lazy 8’s flying groups.
He was predeceased by 2 brothers Thomas and Joseph Culora and a sister Carmella Culora. He is survived by his wife of 20 years Patricia Shanahan Culora; 2 sons Capt. Thomas (Jill) Culora, USN of New York City and James (Celeste) Culora of Coeur D‘Alene, Idaho; 5 stepchildren William (Cecilia) LaBarge of Bryan, Texas, Sharon Healy of Albany, Debra (Kevin) Valder of Ballston Spa, James LaBarge of Cheyenne, Wyoming and Florence (Brian) Sprague of Hoosick Falls; sister in law Audrey Culora of Scotia; 13 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 10:30am, Monday, April 9 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Milton Avenue, Ballston Spa, where a mass of christian burial will be celebrated. A calling hour will precede the service from 9-10am at Armer Funeral Home Inc, 39 East High Street, Ballston Spa.
