Louise Toler Villeret
Louise Toler Villert of Austin, Texas, died Sunday, October 1, 2000. Born January 31, 1914, in Crowley, she was the youngest of six children of Carrie Brooks Toler and James Kenneth Toler. She married Lloyd Addison Villeret, also of Crowley, on August 4, 1935. After living in Houston for 23 years, they returned to Crowley in 1958. They moved back to Houston in 1972, and following Lloyd’s death in 1982, Louise moved to Austin, Texas.
In Crowley, she taught at South Crowley Elementary School, was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, the Town Club and the local Panhellenic. One of her greatest pleasures was writing a column, “Socially Speaking” for the Crowley Post-Signal.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Lloyd Addison Villeret.
She is survived by daughters, Mollie Davis and husband, C. Dean of Austin, Texas; Susan Menotti of LaMarque, Texas, Mary Louise Stites and husband, Robert of Arlington, Texas; grandsons, Dean Davis and wife, Laura of New Canaan, Conn., Kevin Davis and wife, Stacy of Laurel, Miss., Brian Smith and wife, Tracie of Santa Fe, Texas, and Steven Stites of Arlington, Texas; great-grandchildren, Kristin and Drew Davis of New Canaan, Conn., Todd and Brooks Davis of Laurel, Miss., and Jonah Smith of Santa Fe, Texas.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000, at The Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd, Austin, Texas. A graveside service will be conducted at 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at the Old Crowley Cemetery.
The family will received visitors at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home prior to the burial from 4-5 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 342, Crowley, La. 70527.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home, 3125 N. Lamar, Austin, Texas 78705.

Mrs. Erylice Lyons
CHURCH POINT - Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mrs. Erylice Lyons, 80, the former Helen Matte, who died at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, October 1, 2000, at Doctor’s Hospital in Opelousas.
Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Mausoleum.
Survivors include one brother, Joseph Lee Matte of Morgan City; three sisters, Amire Matte of Church Point, Hazel Doucet of Branch and Velma Folks of Baton Rouge; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Erylice Lyons and five sisters, Doris McBride, Lelia Doucet, Odelia Comeaux, Mable Bergeron and Armont Doucet.
Guidry Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Theola Spell
Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000, at Northside Assembly of God Church for Mrs. Theola Spell, 82, who died at 8:50 a.m. at Landmark Nursing Home on Sunday, October 1, 2000.
Reverend Loyd Singley will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Indian Bayou Cemetery.
Visitation was observed on Monday from noon until 10 p.m. and will be observed on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors include two sons, Carl A. and his wife, Lois Brougham of Crowley and James and his wife, Gayle Brougham of Lake Charles; one daughter, JoAnn and her husband, Louis Hanks of Crowley; one sister, Eunice Spell of Vidor, Texas; seven grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Spell was a member of Northside Assembly of God Church in Crowley.
Thanks go out to Hospice of St. Landry in particular, Shelley Trahan and caregivers, Geri Hanks and Kim Doucet; and also to her devoted nephew, Lee Magnon and his wife, Lettie.
She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and touched many people’s lives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward W. Spell; two brothers, Merel and Earl “Son” Spell; and two sisters, Beatrice McNeel and Louise Magnon.

LAWTELL - Jared L. Richard, 27, of Ville Platte, died on Sunday, October 1, 2000, in Opelousas. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at St. Bridget’s Church in Lawtell. Burial will be held in St. Bridget’s Church Cemetery. Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point is in charge of arrangements.

Lula Marie Farris
DEQUINCY - Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 7, 2000, at 1 p.m. at Evergreen Baptist Church in Dequincy for Lula Marie Farris, 56, who died Saturday, September 30, 2000, at 10 p.m. at her residence in Crowley.
Interment will be held in Community Cemetery.
Ms. Farris was a native of DeQuincy, an educator with Acadia Parish School Board for 32 years and an instructor at Southern University’s Department of Psychology and Rehabilitation for three years. She was recently named 1999-2000 Teacher of the Year at Rayne High School and was recently named Teacher of the Year of Acadia Parish. She was president of the Missionary Society; vice president of the music department; youth choir director; and teen mentor at Morning Star Baptist Church of Crowley.
She is survived by her mother, Stella R. Farris; one brother and three sisters-in-law, Alvin and Juanita Farris of Harvey, Lois T. Farris of Baker, and Pinkie L. Farris of DeQuincy; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Leida and Sip Hines and Rosa and Ocie Stubblefield, all of Houston, Texas; four aunts, Mary K. Gray of DeQuincy; Willie Jackson of Mansfield; Fannie Crosby of Shreveport, and Addie Adkins of Houston, Texas; two uncles, Aaron Dobbins of Westlake and Clifford Dobbins of Fort Worth, Texas; and a host of devoted family, friends and students.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reverend Kelsie L. Farris Sr.; two brothers, Kelsie and Gene Farris; and one sister, Barbara J. Mays.
Visitation in Crowley will be Friday, October 6, 2000, at Morning Star Baptist Church beginning at 4 p.m until celebration of life services at 7 p.m. services will be conducted by Reverend Donald Burnette Sr.
Visitation in DeQuincy will be Saturday, October 7, 2000, at Evergreen Baptist Church beginning at 11 a.m. until the time of services at 1 p.m.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, October 6, 2000, at Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Mrs. Eula Roberts, 82, who died at 9:45 a.m. Wednesday, October 4, 2000, at American Legion Hospital.
Reverend L.C. Lord and Reverend Bob Bollich will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Maxie Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed on Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Friday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors include her husband, Clarence Roberts of Crowley; one daughter, Bobbie Brown of Crowley; one sister, Lillian Stelly of Iota; four grandchildren, Shelia Beard, David Brown, Jack Brown and Letia Barnes.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ethel Corkin; six brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2000, at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Alphonse Mouton Jr., 87, who died at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2000, at American Legion Hospital in Crowley.
Father Richard T. Sadlier, SSJ, will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Old Crowley Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed at the church on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

GUEYDAN - BURNICE “BLACK” BROUSSARD, 77, of Gueydan, died at 3:08 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette. Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 7, at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel. Burial was held in Hanks Cemetery.

GUEYDAN - Margaret Hebert Buhot, 64, of Gueydan, died at 3:50 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, 2000, at her residence. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Matthews and Son Funeral Home Chapel.
A rosary will be recited Monday at 7 p.m.
Burial will be held in the
Gueydan Cemetery.

CHURCH POINT - Mrs. Amy Comeaux, 74, of Church Point, died at 10:45 a.m. on Friday, October 6 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 7, 2000 at 2 p.m. in Duhon Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was held in St. John Cemetery in Lewisburg.

RAYNE - Elzina Locksey, 81, of Rayne, died Wednesday at the Bayou Village Nursing Center in Crowley. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2000 at 10 a.m. at Our Mother of Mercy Church.
Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Gossen Funeral Home of Rayne.

Mrs. Kate Mauboules
MORSE - Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2000 at 2 p.m. in Immaculate Conception Catholic Church for Kate Mauboules, nee Daigle, 91, who died at 10:50 p.m. on Friday, October 6, 2000 at Landmark Nursing Home.
Burial will be held in Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Mausoleum in Church Point. Officiating for the service will be Father Donald Pousson. A rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m. Sunday.
Mrs. Mauboules was a teacher for 29 years. She was one of the original school teachers in Morse.
Survivors include one son, Patrick Mauboules of Burnt Hills, New York; one daughter, Katherine Landry of Athens, Georgia; six grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Emile Daigle, her husband, Walter “Sam” Mauboules; 10 sisters and two brothers.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.

Alvin “Beb” Hanks
MORSE - Services for Alvin “Beb” Hanks, 84, of Morse, will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, October 9, 2000 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Rev. Donald Pousson and Rev. David Broussard officiating. Burial will be held in Hanks Cemetery-Mausoleum.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. tonight.
Mr. Hanks died at 6:50 a.m. on October 7, 2000 at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Visitation will be observed Sunday from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services.
He was a native and resident of Morse. He was a retired school bus driver.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Allie M. Hanks of Morse; one son, Dale Hanks and his wife Gwen of Morse; one daughter, Margaret H. Richard and her husband Lee Ray of Crowley; one sister, Mrs. Kerney (Mena) Istre of Gueydan; eight grandchildren, Priscilla H. Breaux and husband Tony, Leticia H. Carlson and husband Tommy, Tracy H. Guidry and husband Byron, Bradley D. Hanks and wife Deby, Tommy Richard and wife Shawna, Ronnie Richard and wife Dana, Vicki Richard and Ryan Richard; nine great grandchildren, Shanlyn Breaux, Sharisa Breaux, Heath Carlson, Tyler Carlson, Amber Carlson, Tyron Guidry, Jordan Richard, Cassidy Richard, Allie Marie Richard; two step-great grandchildren, Hubby Guidry and Nicky Guidry; one great great granddaughter, Lana Breaux.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Mathilda S. Hanks and his brother, Gilbert (Bee) Hanks.

Nella Bihm
Nella Bourgeois Monceaux Bihm, 72, of Crowley, was taken to her Lord on the morning of October 7, 2000 in Iota, where she died after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held Monday, October 9, 2000 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Michaels Catholic Church.
Father Aaron Melancon, Associate Pastor of St. Michaels Catholic Church, will officiate. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday by her brother, Deacon Jimmy Bourgeois and her brother-in-law, Deacon Eugene R. LeBlanc. The visitation will be observed Sunday from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Monday from 8 a.m. until time of services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Nella was born the eldest of ten children to the late Martin and Bessie (Gatte) Bourgeois on August 31, 1928 in Evangeline. Nella was a member of St. Michaels Catholic Church and lived in Crowley most of her adult life.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Floyd J. Monceaux Sr. and her second husband, John L. Bihm; her daughter, Cheryl M. Daigle and two grandchildren, Fred Allen Monceaux Jr. and Heather Nicole Monceaux.
Survivors include two daughters, Mary Risinger and her husband Chuck of North Highlands, CA; Janet Young and her husband Ben of Crowley; four sons, Floyd J. Monceaux Jr. of Bossier City, Fred Monceaux and his wife Alice of Crowley, John S. Monceaux and his wife Melva of Cuero, TX, Gerard Monceaux and his wife Peggy of Iota; three sisters, Martha LeBlanc of Baytown, Tx, Anne Robicheaux of Broussard and Linda Monceaux of Crowley; three brothers, Jimmy Bourgeois of Pt. Neches, TX, Jacob Bourgeois of Deer Park, TX and Martin D. Bourgeois of Bossier City; nineteen grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren.

MANY - Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, October 11, 2000, at First United Methodist Church for Harry Ray Hataway Jr., 52, who died Sunday, October 8, 2000, at Sabine Medical Center in Many.

Visitation will be observed on Tuesday, October 10 at 6 p.m. at Warren Meadows Funeral Home.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, October 9, 2000, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Elgin Olive Broussard, 83, who died at 12:30 a.m. Saturday, October 7, 2000, at Oakdale Community Hospital.
Burial was held in Woodlawn Mausoleum in Crowley.

Survivors include one brother, Robert Broussard of Lafayette; and four nephews.
She was a retired elementary school teacher.

Father Albert Nunez will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery.
Visitation will be observed on Saturday from 8 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Sunday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Wilson Gueno
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Evelyn Wilson Gueno, 85, who died at 8:45 a.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2000, at American Legion Hospital.
Reverend Bob Hollis officiated for the services. Burial was held in Woodlawn Cemetery.
Visitation was observed on Monday from 6-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
Survivors include two sons, Joseph Stanley Gueno, III, of Baton Rouge, and James Andre’ Gueno of New Orleans; one daughter, Laurie Gail Lewis of South Carolina; two sisters, Marjorie Marx and Ione Hamilton, both of Lafayette; and four grandchildren, John Scott Lewis, Wesley “Trey” Lewis, Joseph S. Gueno, IV, and Michael P. Gueno.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Laura Summers Wilson; and her husband, Joseph Stanley Gueno Jr.
She was a member of First United Methodist Church and she taught high school English for many years.

Quintin Armen Finley Sr.
HOUSTON - Quintin Armen Finley Sr. 90, of Houston, Texas, passed away on October 13, 2000. Mr. Finley was born in Crowley, Louisiana on May 5, 1910, to John and Minnie Belle Finley.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 17 at Forest Park West in Houston, Texas.
He is survived by his wife Mildred Barrow Finley; two brothers Robert Finley of Alto, New Mexico, and Browning Finley of Kingsville, Texas; three sons J. M. Finley and Rozz of Dayton, Ohio, Quintin A. Finley Jr. and Nancy of Denver, Colorado, and James T. Finley and Genez of Highlands, Texas.
Mr. Finley graduated from Crowley High School and attended Texas A&M University and Massey Business College. Afterwards he worked in the rice business in Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas and Cuba for 35 years. He then moved on to the floral business with San Larenzo wholesale floral suppliers and Southern Floral Company. He retired at age 70.
Other survivors include nine grandchildren James R. Finley of Highlands, Texas, Gregory W. Finley of Highlands, Texas, Connie Finley Edwards of Highlands, Texas, Kathy Finley Russel of Ft. Worth, Texas, John Finley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Douglas Finley of Denver, Colorado, Kyle Finley of Dayton, Ohio, Korbet Finley of Dayton, Ohio, David Rathbun of Baytown, Texas; 15 great-grandchildren, Ashley Finley, Ricky Finley, Colton Finley, Katelyn Finley, Tisha Barris, Brandy Barris, Brant Russel, Aubrey Russel, Leslie Edwards, Jake Edwards, Timmothy Martin, Tyler Finley, Trent Finley, Rebecca Rathbun and Glenn Rathbun.

CHURCH POINT - Kermit G. David, 88, died Monday, October 16, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 17, 2000, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be held in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Mr. Hargrave was born in Morse. He was retired from Superior Oil Company after 27 years of service. He was a member of Our Lady of the Seven Dolors Catholic Church. He was a veteran of World War II, serving as a Navy Seaman 1st Class from 1943 to 1946.

Visitation will be observed at the church on Friday, October 20 from 8 a.m. until the time of services.

Citizen of Crowley; four daughters, Mary Green of Houston, Patricia Hebert of Lake Charles, Laura Handy and Willa Sparks, both of Texas City; four brothers, Alfred Thibodeaux, Lilris Thibodeaux and Walter Thibodeaux, all of Houston, and Louis Thibodeaux of Katy, Texas; one sister, Rosa Lee Stevenson of Houston; 36 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Houston and Cecelia Thibodeaux Sr., four sisters, two brothers, two sons, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2000, at St. Michael Catholic Church for Vernis Joseph LeLeux, 80, who died at 6:10 p.m. Wednesday, October 18, 2000, at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital.
Father Louis Richard and Deacon Rodless Leleux will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Visitation will be observed on Friday from 9 a.m. until 10 p.m. and on Saturday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. on Friday.
Survivors include his wife, Earline Duhon Leleux of Crowley; two sons, Ronald P. Leleux of Crowley and Daniel R. Jeoffroy and his wife, Amanda of Lafayette; six daughters, Loretta Leleux of Naples, Fla., Carol Fearing and her husband, Connie of Kittyhawk, Va., Cynthia Leleux of Naples, Fla., Nicole Robertson and husband, Mark of Lafayette; Pamela Taylor and Linette Jeoffroy of Lafayette; one brother, Wilfred Leleux and wife, Louise of Crowley; two sisters, Rena Bertrand and husband, Nefor of Crowley, and Nedia Bell of Crowley; 16 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clomere and Aspazie Trahan Leleux; and one brother, Dozee Leleux.
Mr. Leleux, a retired businessman, owned and operated Leleux’s Appliance Sales and Service for 42 years. He served his country in the European Theatre from 1944-1946 in the United States Army. He was a member of the American Legion Post 15, serving as commander for three terms. He was a member of the American Legion Hospital Board of Directors since 1953.

“Bill” Jobe
BREAUX BRIDGE - Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church for William “Bill” Jobe, 96, who died at his residence on Saturday, October 21, 2000.
Burial was held in Lafayette Memorial Park Cemetery in Lafayette.
Survivors include two sons, Burl Jobe of Crowley, Clifford E. Jobe Sr. of Eunice; two daughters, Gerry Richard of Breaux Bridge and Alena Thayer of Crowley; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Jobe; father, William James Jobe; mother, Annie Byrum Jobe; son, William Richard Jobe; four brothers, Adam, Lavoy and Mac Jobe and Harris McDonald; three sisters, Reba Jobe, Esther Loveless and Jane Skelton; grandson, John Robert Jobe; and former wife, Bernice Cothren Jobe.
He became a member of Masonic Lodge at Shiloh Arkansas, Lodge #552 in 1930, Shrine 32nd Degree in 1946, Consisery in 1945, and was an active member of First Baptist Church of Breaux Bridge where he was a deacon.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2000, at Bible Missionary Church in Crowley for Mitchell Roy Morgan, 48, who died at 11:10 a.m. Saturday, October 21, 2000, at St. Patrick Hospital in Lake Charles.
Reverend Hubert Terry officiated for the services. Burial was held in Indian Bayou Cemetery.
Visitation was observed on Sunday from 1 p.m. until the time of services on Monday.
Survivors include his mother, Agnes Spell Morgan of Crowley; his wife, Claudette Pellissier Morgan of Egan; two sons, Nick and Brent Morgan of Egan; two daughters, Rachel Nelson of Egan and Renee’ Morgan of Egan; three brothers, Joseph “Bubba” Morgan of Crowley, Roger Morgan of Crowley and Allen Morgan of Lake Charles; four sisters, Linda Duncan of Frisco, Texas, Velma Romero and Debra Spell, both of Crowley and Venita Vinn of Moss Bluff; and two grandchildren, John Wane Nelson, III, and Kameron Isaac Morgan.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elzie Morgan; and one sister, Dora Marie Bertrand.
Pallbearers were Dana Morgan, Jason Morgan, Jeffrey Morgan, Gerard Morgan, Blaine Morgan and Josh Morgan.
Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy and Shannon Romero.

Monsignor
Curtis S. Vidrine
CAMERON - Funeral services for Monsignor Curtis S. Vidrine, 80, will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, October 26, 2000, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
The Most Reverend Jude Speyrer will be the principal celebrant and the Reverend Roland Vaughn will be the homilist. Burial will be in the Sacred Heart of Jesus Cemetery in Creole under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home.
Visitation at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church will be from 3-10 p.m. on Wednesday, October 25 and on Thursday until Mass. Rosaries will be at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. Wednesday.
Monsignor Vidrine died Monday, October 23, 2000, at 11:15 p.m. at a local hospital.
A native of Chataignier, Monsignor Vidrine was educated at St. Mary’s Home and Sacred Heart in Ville Platte from 1926 to 1931 and Cathedral High School in Lafayette from 1931 to 1933. His priestly training came at Saint Joseph Seminary in Covington from 1933 to 1939 and at Notre Dame Seminary in New Orleans from 1939 to 1945.
He was ordained to the priesthood on March 17, 1945, in Lafayette and his first assignment was as assistant pastor to Immaculate Conception Church in Lake Charles. He served there from 1945 to 1952.
In 1952, he was the founding pastor of St. Hubert Parish in Lake Charles and served there until 1960. He was the founding pastor of Sacred Heart Parish in New Iberia from 1960 to 1971, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Parish in Church Point from 1971 to 1974 and Our Lady of Seven Dolors Parish in Welsh from 1974 to 1976.
He was named pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Cameron in 1976 and remained there until his retirement in June, 1997.
Pope Paul VI named him a Prelate of Honor with the title of Monsignor in 1970.
He served in a variety of administrative level positions in the Diocese of Lafayette - Dean of the Church Point Deanery from 1971 to 1974 and as Regional Vicar of the combined Church Point and Crowley Deaneries from 1973 to 1974.
Among other assignments during his career, Monsignor Vidrine was the Moderator of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women from 1960 to 1973 and served as a Pro-Synodal Judge of the Diocese of Lafayette Marriage Tribunal from 1972 to 1975.
Monsignor Vidrine was a 50 year member of the Third and Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, October 26, 2000, at St. Michael Catholic Church for Roy Richard Sr., 92, who died at 8:20 p.m. Monday, October 23, 2000, at Crowley American Legion Hospital.
Father Rusty Richard will officiate for the services. Burial will be held in Woodlawn Mausoleum.
Visitation will be observed on Wednesday from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of services.
A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. on Wednesday.
Survivors include his wife, Amy Fruge Richard of Crowley; one son, Louis A. Richard and his wife, Sherry of Clear Lake City, Texas; two daughters, Clara Richard Hoffpauir of Clear Lake City; five grandchildren, Jennifer Marie Richard, Jonathan Louis Richard, John Richard Hoffpauir, Cheryl Ann Butler and Philip Roy Hoffpauir; and three great-grandchildren, Amber Liegh Hoffpauir, Richard Ellis Hoffpauir and Aaron Garland Butler.
Mr. Richard was preceded in death by one son, Roy Richard Jr., brother, Mathew Richard; grandson, Michael David Hoffpauir; and son-in-law, Harvey Ellis Hoffpauir.
He was employed as sales manager for three warehouses of Calcasieu Mercantile Co. until his retirement at age 75.

Wake services will be held at the church from 8 a.m. until 11 a.m. on Friday.

Citizen of Crowley, and Joseph Citizen Sr. of Long Beach, Calif.; two brothers, Paul Citizen Sr, of Rosharon, Texas, and Anthony Citizen of Los Angeles, Calif.; five sisters, Cheryl Hammock of Hawthorne, Calif., Octavia Richard of Lake Charles, Margaret Ree of Grandview, Mo., Juanita Wilridge of Gardena, Calif., and Maudry Bellard of Crowley; 36 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Lorraine O’Quain Jardell
Funeral services will be held Sunday, October 29, 2000, at 1:30 p.m. at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Lorraine O’Quain Jardell, 78, who died Monday, October 23, 2000, at 12:08 p.m. at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont, Texas.
Father Aaron Melancon will officiate for the services. A rosary will be recited Saturday at 6 p.m. at the funeral home. Visitation will be observed from 4:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. until service time Sunday.
Survivors include two daughters and their husbands, Lynn J. and Greg K. Moroux of Lafayette, Cheryl J. and Tracy O’Quinn of Beaumont, Texas; three sons and their wives, Paul P. and Susan Jardell Jr. of Houston, Texas, John M. and Cathy Jardell of San Diego, Calif., and Tom G. and Denise Jardell of Scott; nine grandchildren, John E. Jardell, Travis, Kelly and Katie Murdock, Kent, Renee and Drew Moroux, Jeremy Jardell and Byron O’Quinn.
She graduated from LaGrange High School in Lake Charles in 1939. She was a 1943 graduate of S.L.I., now U.L.L., in Home Economics. While at S.L.I., she was president of Nu Sigma Kappa sorority. She was a member of the Home Economics Club, Little Theater, Red Jackets, Newman Club and Alpha Psi Omega. She was a member of the 1941 Homecoming Court and a member of the 1942 Camilia Pageant. Mrs. Jardell was in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities in 1942-43. She resided in Crowley while raising her family. She was a member of the PTAs of St. Michael Elementary and Notre Dame High School of Acadia Parish in Crowley and also a member of the Catholic Daughters. She resided in Sulphur from 1983 until 1997 and then moved to Green Acres Parkdale Nursing Home in Beaumont until her death.
Pallbearers will be Greg Moroux, Tracy O’Quinn, Jeremy Jardell, Kent Moroux, Byron O’Quinn and Drew Moroux.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul P. Jardell Sr.; her parents, Cleve and Philoman O’Quain.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity or organization of your choice. The family wishes to thank the staff of Green Acres Parkdale Nursing Home and Baptist Hospital, both of Beaumont, Texas.

Funeral services for Bennie D. Boulet of Maurice, 58, were held at 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 30, 2000, at Vincent Funeral Home in Abbeville with Rev. Leon Boggs officiating.
Burial was in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Maurice.
Mr. Boulet died Friday, Oct. 27, at Lafayette General Medical Center.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Boulet of Maurice; one son, Bobby D. Boulet of Douglas, Georgia; a step-son, James Grant of Abbeville; a daughter, Belinda Boulet of Sulphur; step-daughter, Keeley Grant of Lafayette; brother, Dane Boulet of Abbeville; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Delma Boulet Sr.; and a brother, Delma Boulet Jr.
Visitation will be from noon to 10 p.m. Sunday and from 8 a.m. until service time Monday.
