THE VILLAGES — Jean Villwock, 76, died Monday, April 5 [2004].
Mrs. Villwock was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to The Villages from Ocean Pines, Md., in 2001. She was a Methodist.
Survivors include her husband Vernon; son William, Boca Raton; daughters Susan Tydings, Olney, Md., Cindy Cima, Urbana, Md.; and six grandchildren.
Services for Mrs. Villwock will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, April 9, at Oxford United Methodist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Villages Hospice House.

LADY LAKE — William G. Smith, 78, died Wednesday, June 2, 2004.
Mr. Smith was born in Rochester, N.Y., and moved to Lady Lake from Fort Lauderdale in 1980. He was a retired construction painter and a Catholic.
Survivors include his sons William J., Ocala, Andrew Robert and Thomas E., both of Lady Lake, Robert Julius, Weirsdale, Thomas E., Lady Lake; daughters Carol Ruth D’Agostino, Groveland, Anna Mary Smith, Geneseo, N.Y.; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

EASTON, Pa. — Shirley K. Firnstahl, 77, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.
Mrs. Firnstahl was born in St. Paul, Minn., and a former resident of Summerfield. She was a homemaker; of the Catholic faith; enjoyed arts and crafts; and played in bridge clubs.
Survivors include her husband Robert H.; daughters Jean E. Lubas of New Jersey, Peggy Hayes, Tatamy, Pa.; and four grandchildren.
The family will hold services from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Aug. 13, in the family home in Tatamy.
Mass of Christian burial for Mrs. Firnstahl will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 14, at St. Jane Frances deChantal Catholic Church, Easton. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, Pa.

Richard Wess
VICTOR, N.Y. — Richard George Wess, 73, died Monday, Aug. 9, 2004.
Mr. Wess was born in Rochester, N.Y., and had been a winter resident of Lady Lake since 1995. He was a mechanical engineer, having worked for the Rochester City School District-Building and Grounds, Birdseye Foods, Link Group and Gerber Products. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean conflict; a member of the Clifton Springs Country Club, Clifton Springs, N.Y., Superintendents of Buildings and Grounds, Gypsum Mills Golf League, Rochester District Senior Golf, American Legion and Finger Lakes Senior Golf. His hobbies were golf, DVD movies, computers, fishing and cards.
Survivors include his wife Beverly; son Michael W.; daughters Lori L. Wess, Sandra Rishel; two grandchildren; and brother Frederick, Lady Lake.
Services for Mr. Wess were held in Victor; with interment

THE VILLAGES — Kenneth A. Miller, 79, died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004.
Mr. Miller was born in Coopersburg, Pa. He was a manager for a lumber and building supply company; a member of New Covenant United Methodist Church, The Villages; COPD Support Club; and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his wife Mary Ann Miller; daughter Stephanie Bleckley, Boothwyn, Pa.; sons Mark and Alan, both of Nazareth, Pa., Luke, Easton, Pa., Jeffrey Snyder, Coplay, Pa.; brothers Dr. Arthur Miller, Coopersburg, Orrin Miller, Chicopee, Mass.; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

LADY LAKE — Delbert Mark Copeland, 42, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004.
Mr. Copeland was born in Eustis and moved to Lady Lake from Eustis in 1990. He was co-owner and operator of The Curiosity Shop, Leesburg and Lake and Sumter Pool Service, Lady Lake; a member of Christ United Methodist Church, Leesburg; raised and showed horses; and enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include his wife Maria P.; sons Hunter Copeland, Ryan Steinstra and Chad Steinstra, all of Lady Lake; parents Delbert and Ann Copeland, Leesburg; and maternal grandmother Julia L. Bivins, of Leesburg.

SUMMERFIELD — Samuel B. Love Sr., 80, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2004.
Mr. Love was born in Double Springs, Ala., and moved to Summerfield in 1926. He was a retired insurance executive and citrus grower; a Baptist; a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lake Weir; Marion County Cattlemen’s Association; State FFA Foundation Board; Lifetime member Florida Sheriff’s Association; Florida Citrus Mutual’s Farm Bureau; Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity; Florida Blue Key, alumni volunteer mediator for 5th District Circuit Court; manager of Love’s Landing Aviation Community; and a U.S. Army Air Corps veteran of World War II.
Survivors include his sons Sam Jr., and John H., both of Sunset Harbor; sisters Ruth Wright, Dunedin, Imogene Beevers, Clearwater; and two grandsons.
Graveside services for Mr. Love will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 11, at Greenwood Cemetery, Weirsdale, with the Rev. Damon B. Walker officiating. Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Lady Lake.

THE VILLAGES — Robert William Linville, 82, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2004.
Mr. Linville was born in Chicago, Ill., and moved to The Villages from Harwood, Md., in 1992. He was a retired burner mechanic for Southern Maryland Oil Co. in La Platta, Md., for 23 years; a Protestant; a U.S. Marine veteran of World War II; a member of VFW Post 8083 of Belleview; and enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife Irene; sons Thomas, The Villages, Terrence, Prince Frederick, Md., Timothy, Kingsport, Tenn.; two grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

THE VILLAGES — Winfield Meredith Polk, 77, died Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2004.
Mr. Polk was born in Columbus, Ohio, and moved to The Villages in 1995 from Columbus. He was an insurance executive, earning title as CLU, was active in insurance for 56 years, and employed with Amerilife Health Services of Lake County; a U.S. Army veteran of World War II; a member of Masonic Lodge, Shriner Club and American Legion; and enjoyed golfing.
Survivors include his wife Joan G.; sons James W., Gahanna, Ohio, Stephen M., Columbus, Robert L., St. Petersburg; daughters Susan M. Pillifant, Boca Raton, Carole J. Polk, Columbus; sister Jean Hartley, Crystal River; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A private memorial service for Mr. Polk will be held at 3 p.m. today, Sept. 9, at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services, Lady Lake, with the Rev. Doug Green officiating.

WEIRSDALE — Bettie Mae Bizjak, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004.
Mrs. Bizjak was born in Jerome, Pa., and moved to Weirsdale from Fort Lauderdale in 1977. She was retired from Aloe Cream Lab., Fort Lauderdale, as a customer service representative for 15 years; a member of Lady Lake Church of God, Lady Lake; and wrote and enjoyed poetry and bowling.
Survivors include her daughter Linda J. Werbeach, Lady Lake; son Lou W. Wilson, Ocala; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

LEESBURG — Algot Ferdinand Nelson, 94, died Tuesday, Sept. 21, 2004.
Mr. Nelson was born in Brunskog County, Sweden, and moved to Leesburg from Lady Lake in 1993. He was a retired stationery engineer at Orington Hotel in Evanston, Ill., a Lutheran, and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
There are no surviving relatives.
Graveside services for Mr. Nelson will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights, Ill., with military honors.

WILDWOOD — Cecil W. Yoakum, 78, died Wednesday, Oct. 6, 2004.
Mr. Yoakum was born in Middlesboro, Ky., and moved to Wildwood from Tennessee in 1963. He was a member of the Grace Bible Baptist Church of Leesburg, a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, a life member of the DAV and VFW of Wildwood, and former chaplain and member of the Wildwood American Legion.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby; sons Ed, Lady Lake, Roger, Wildwood, Marty, Beverly Hills; brothers Cline, Orlando, Ronnie, Indiana; sisters Velma Wilder, Melbourne, Loraine Shubert, Kokomo, Ind., Della Mae Ely, California, Madeline Griggs, Roanoke, Va.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

BUSHNELL — Edna Clark, 94, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004.
Mrs. Clark was born in Hancock County, Ohio, and moved to Bushnell from Spring Hill in 1979. She was an inspector with the automobile industry; and a member of First Baptist Church of Bushnell.
Survivors include her sons Charles, Bushnell, Gerald, Lake Panasoffkee; daughter Shirley J. Sharp, Mulliken, Mich.; sisters Margaret J. Powers, Eaton Rapids, Mich., Phyllis Welfare and Florence Comp, both of Hasting, Mich.; 15 grandchildren; and many great- and great-great-grandchildren.

CENTER HILL — Lanis (L.D.) Skinner, 77, died Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2004.
Mr. Skinner moved to Sumter County from Groveland in 1947 and was a lifelong farmer. He was a U.S. Coast Guard veteran; and a charter member of Cornerstone Community Baptist Church of Bushnell.
A “Celebration of Life” service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 10, at Purcell Funeral Home, Bushnell. A viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9 at the funeral home.
