Robert was born January 28, 1936 in Palmyra, N.Y. He was the son of the late Adelbert W. & Ruth H. Bills Wilcox.

Michael William Elliott, age 23.
We are suffering the loss of Michael William Elliott of Lake City passed from us Sunday the 24th of February.
He is survived by a loving wife Leonia Elliott (who he meant the world to) and 2 precious boys, Michael William Elliott, Jr. (5), Jessie Tyler Elliott (17 months). He was the idol of his boys.
He is also survived by his mother, Dale Gordon of Jesup, Ga.; A sister, Lisa Pratt of Jesup, Ga.; His father, Robert Michael Elliott, of Kansas.

Mr. Lemuel Jones, age 89 resident of Lake City, Fla. died Sunday, February 24, 2002 at The Health Center of Lake City, terminating an extending illness.
He was the son of the late Mr. Charlie and Mrs. Pearl Jones. He received his education in the public schools of Columbia County and was a member of Huntsville United Methodist Church. He was a farmer for many years and he retired from the City of Lake City.
Survivors include three daughters, Romania Newman, Loneily Jones, both of Lake City, Fla. and Mary Jackson, Miami, Fla., one son, Lemuel Jones, Jr. (Willie Mae) Gainesville, Fla.; 14 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; A host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Sherry Lynn Croft-Lukatz, 37, of Lake Butler, Florida, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, in the Shands Hospital at the University of Florida, Gainesville.
Mrs. Croft-Lukatz was a lifelong resident of Lake Butler and had been employed as a corrections officer for the North Florida Reception Center, Lake Butler.
Survivors include; Her Husband, Robby Lukatz; Two Sons, Brandon Croft and Rob Lukatz; One Daughter, Rebecca Lindsey Lukatz, all of Lake Butler; Her Father, Gary Croft of Lake Butler; Her Mother, Sharon Travis, of Bartow; Two Brothers, Gary Croft, Jr., of Lake City, and Charlie Daniels Croft, of Perry; Two Sisters, Angie Roberts of Lake Butler, and Missy Croft, of Lake City.

Edward Henry Swanko
Mr. Edward Henry Swanko, age 78, of Lake City, Fla. died Wednesday, Feb. 27, in the V.A. Medical Center, Lake City, Fla. following an extended illness.
Mr. Swanko was a native of Perth Amboy, New Jersey and had resided in Miami, Fla. for many years before moving to Lake City, Fla. in 1992. He served in the U.S. Air Force for over twenty years retiring with the rank of Major. He was a law school graduate and served as County Court Judge in Dade County, Fla. for many years until his retirement in 1998. He was a member of the Epiphany Catholic Church, Lake City, Fla. and an Air Force veteran of W.W.II and the Korean Conflict.
Survivors include his wife, Marcella Swanko of Lake City, Fla.; Ten children and 14 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral mass will be conducted at 10 A.M. Friday, March 1, in the Epiphany Catholic Church with Father George Kuruvilla officiating. Interment
will be at 12:30 P.M. Monday, March 4, in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.

Rose Ida Brecka Krueger, 85, a resident of Lake City, Florida died Friday, March 1, 2002 at the North Florida Regional Hospital following an extended illness. Mrs. Krueger was a native of Czechoslovakia, Germany and had lived in Lake City for the past ten years. Prior to living in Lake City she was living in Panama City, Florida. She is the daughter of the late Anton and Ruzena Stepaneke Brecka. She was a member of the Watertown Congregational Meth-odist Church, Lake City Florida and is preceded in death by a son. Survivors include her husband; Orval D. Ennis, Lake City, Florida; One daughter, Karen (Vaughn) Watkins, Midland City, Alabama and One son; Leon Lester Kowalke, Lake City, Florida. One sister; Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Pliner, Richland Center, Wisconsin and One brother; Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Brecka, Barboo, Wisconsin. Three grandchildren; Sandra (Patrick) McShane, Lake City, Florida, Vaughn Watkins, Jr. Lake City and James (Donna) Watkins, Springhill, Florida. Four great grandchildren also survive. Vivian Kuzma Murphy
Vivian Kuzma Murphy, 65, of Lake City, Florida, died Wednesday, February 27, 2002, in Palatka, Florida, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Mrs. Murphy was a native of Ligon, Kentucky, daughter of the late William g. and Virginia Gayheart Blankenship, and had resided for many years in Girard, Pennsylvania, prior to moving to Lake City, in 1976. Mrs. Murphy had owned and operated the Downhome Diner, in Girard, and had attended the Huntsville Baptist Church, in Lake City. She was a member of the American Legion, The Veterans of Foreign Wars, and the Moose Lodge, all of Lake City. Mrs. Murphy's favorite pastime was bingo. Survivors include, One Son, Michael Murphy, of Satsuma, Fla.; Five Daughters, Debra Sobol Nelson, of Fonda, N.Y., Regina Uzialko, of Archibald, Penn., Barbara Johnson, of Ashtabula, Ohio, Michelle O'Quinn and Zola (Tommy) Henry, both of Lake City; One Brother, Delmar Blankenship, of Ashtabula, Ohio; One Sister, Carol Mull, of Lake City. Seven Grandchildren, Two Step Grandchildren and One Great Grandchild also survive. Mr. Henry M. deGuia, 39, of Lake City, died early Thursday morning at his residence following a sudden illness. A native of Iba Zambales, Philippines, Mr. deGuia had been a resident of Lake City since 1990 having moved here from South Carolina. He was a cook and operated his own catering business. Mr. deGuia was a member of the Philippine Independent Church. Mr. deGuia is survived by his wife of seventeen years, Susan deGuia; a son, Henry deGuia, Jr., a daughter, Darlene deGuia, his mother, Natividad deGuia of Iba Zambales, Philippines; four brothers, David deGuia, Goose Creek, South Carolina; Rudy deGuia, Pasadena, California; Rafael deGuia & Ernest deGuia both of the Philippines; and three sisters, Conception Radcliff, Lake City, Florida; Caridad Lee and Guadelupe Ayran, both of Iba Zambales, Philippines. A visitation with the family will be held from 6-8:00 Monday evening at the Biggs Funeral Home. Vera Inez Parker Abear, 69, of Live Oak, died March 1, 2002 of a heart attack and complications from diabetes. Mrs. Abear moved to Texas where she lived and worked for twelve years. Then she returned to her home state where she lost her battle with her illness. Survivors include her son Joe Crosby, Houston, Texas; daughter Joyce McCintire, Channelview, Texas; four granddaughters; Tisha, Gennifer, Tonya and Emily all of Texas. Three great-granddaughters and one great-grandson all of Texas; one sister, Ruby Pearl Parker of Kissimmee, Florida; one brother, Travis "Buddy' Stephens of St. Cloud, Florida; scores of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and countless members of of friends who loved her as if she was family. Mr. Willard Brannon, 65, of Wellborn, FL passed away Monday, March 4, 2002 in his home after a short illness.
The Suwannee county native retired from Flowers Baking Company where he worked thirty-seven years as a salesman and was a member of Wellborn Baptist Church.

Albert Burnsed
Mr. Albert Burnsed, 76, of Lake City, died late Monday evening in the Lake City Medical Center fol- lowing an extended illness.
A native of Moniac, Georgia, Mr. Burnsed had been a resident of Lake City since 1965 having moved here from Jacksonville, Florida. Mr. Burnsed was the owner and operator of Burnsed's Plumbing Company for the past thirty-seven years. He was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27, the Lake City Shrine Club, York & Scottish Rite Bodies where he had served as an Ambassador, he was a past member of the Lake City Moose Lodge, the Lake City Elks Club and the Civilian Conservation Corp. where he remains a member of the alumni association. Mr.Burnsed was an avid hunter and was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lou Burnsed, and a brother, L.D. Burnsed.
Mr. Burnsed is survived by a son, Keith Burnsed (Liz); twodaughters, Ann Foster (Bill), and Janet Graddy (Curtis) all of Lake City; two sisters, Louise Rhoden, and Bonnie Burnsed both of Macclenny, Flori-da. Five grandchildren, Scott Foster, Dustin Graddy, Kyle Burnsed, Kelsie Burnsed and Karsyn Burnsed also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Burnsed will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, March 7, 2002, in the Biggs Memorial Chapel with Elder Herman Griffin officiating. Interment

She was preceded in death by her husband, Percy Gaither Hamby.

Theodore "Jake" Jachens
Mr. Theodore "Jake" Jachens, 54, of Live Oak, passed away Sunday, March 3, 2002 in Shands at Lake Shore Hospital, Lake City, after a short illness.
The Brooklyn, New York native moved to Live Oak from Lake City seven years ago, retired from the U. S. Navy after twenty-six years of service and served during the Vietnam conflict. Mr. Jachens was an aircraft mechanic, a member of the Fleet Reserve Association, and was of Methodist faith.
Survivors include his wife; Beth Jachens, Live Oak; two daughters: Marian and Lisa Jachens, both of Maryland; one step-son: Richard Shykes, Germany.

Herbert C. Castillo, 81, a resident of Lake City, Florida, died Friday, March 8, 2002 in the V.A. Medical Center after an extended illness.
Mr. Castillo is a lifelong resident of Columbia County. zHe was of the Baptist faith and a member of Southside Baptist Church where he was a charter member. Mr. Castillo was a a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army Air Corp., he retired from the National Guard after 21 years of service and was a life time member of the Disabled American Veterans. Mr. Castillo was a member of the Lake City Masonic Lodge #27, and the Woodmen of the World. He enjoyed fishing and was a family man.
Mr. Castillo was preceded in death by his wife Emma V. Castillo. Survivors include two daughters; Patricia Ann (Bert) Couch, Lake City, Florida, Helen (Donald) Morgan, Lake City, Florida, one son: Jack (Janie) Castillo, Sr., Lake City, Florida; two sisters: Grace Waters, Lake City, Florida, Sonja Bridges, Tampa, Florida; Grandchildren: Verlena, Angela, Dwayne, Andy, Tim, Patrick, Ginny, William and Sherry. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife Phoebe Elizabeth Rountree and is survived by his sons, Pierre E. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday March 16, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. in First Baptist Church, Branford, FL., with Rev Eddie Blalock officiating Interment
will follow in Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at the Fu-neral home. DANIELS FUNERAL HOME of Branford is in charge of all arrangements.
Deacon Charles Ruise
Deacon Charles Ruise, age 54 resi-dent of Sanderson, Fla. died Sunday, March 10, 2002 at Frazier Hospital, following a brief illness.
He was a native and life-long resident of Baker County. Born on March 7, 1948 to the late Sister Edith Ruise and Deacon Charles "Pete" Ruise. He accepted Christ at an early age and was ordained a deacon at Faith Temple Church of God In Christ under the leadership of the late Bishop T.H. Thompson. He served as church treasurer, Superintendent of Sunday School, Board of Trustee and whatever his hands found to do.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Edith Ruise and brother Jerry Ruise.
Survivors include wife, Joyce Ruise, three sons; Coach Charles (Lisa) Ruise, Gerald (Felicia), and Reginald (Jackie) Ruise, two daughters, Leslie (Joseph) Combs, and Olivia (Lamont) Dun- can, father Dec. Charles Pete Ruise, six brothers, Willie, Kaleb, Wilford, Earlie, Melvin, and Elder Deby (Glenda) Ruise, three sisters, Edith (Elder Japan) Ruise, Frances (Elder Donathan) Shaw, and Stacy (Glen) Shepard, father & mother-in-law, Evangelist Leroy Givens, thirteen grandchildren, four brothers-in-law, Stanley (Inez), Elder Lorenzo (Charlie Mae), Freddie (Tara) and Leroy Jr. (Lovenia) Givens, six sisters-in-law, Stephanie (David) Wallace, Genetha (Milton) Harris, Hazel (Eugene) Mobley, Sheryl (Jacob) Mobley, Lovett (Raymond) Walker, and Vanessa (Sheldon) Hutchins. Devoted and loving aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Mr. Samuel Saunders, age 60 resident of Sanderson, Fla. died Wednesday, March 6, 2002 at Wellington Regional Medical Center, West Palm Beach, Fla. terminating a brief illness.
Born in Nassau, Bahamas, he was the son of the late Samuel Reginald Saunders, & Mrs. Marjorie Woodside. He was a resident of Baker County for many years and was a member of Faith Temple Church of God In Christ.
Survivors include his wife, (Princess) Minnie Hobbs Saunders; Mother, Marjorie Woodside, Nas- sau, Bahamas; 4 sons, Samuel Saunders, Jr., Elroy Symonet, of Nassau, Bahamas, Larry Hobb, Jacksonville, Fl., Troy Hobb, of Atlanta, Ga.; 8 daughters, Sherrell Aiyaryov, Louise Patrice, Adderly and Michelle Saunders, of Nassau, Bahamas, Lana Allen (Gerald), Nicole Saunders, Delecia Johnson and Yolanda Pickering (Milton), of Miami, Fla.; 2 brothers, Reginald Saunders, and Johnny Woodside, of Nassau Bahamas; 8 sisters, Maria Johnson (Bas), Ruth Burnes, Faith Naira (Ronald), Shirley Saunders, Ivey Newbold, Enid Curr, Miriam Adderley & Naomi Morley, all of Nassau, Bahamas; God Sister Gloria Durham, of Miami, Fla.; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Samuel Saunders, will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday March 16, 2002 at Faith Temple Church of God In Christ with Bishop Gary Wright, officiating. Interment
will follow in the Garden of Rest Cemetery.
