A prayer vigil for Raul O. Jimenez, 80, of Deming, will be at 7 p.m. Sunday at St. Ann's Catholic Church. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the same church with Rev. Richard Catanach officiating. Cremation will follow.
Survivors include his wife, Graciela Jimenez of Deming; sons, Joe, Raul, and Richard Jimenez all of Deming, Carlos Jimenez of Oceanside, Calif.; daughters, Yolanda Lemon of Ariz., and Erlinda Jimenez of Deming; brothers, Paul Jimenez of Deming and Jesus Jimenez of Las Cruces; sisters, Nellie Jimenez of Texas, Anita Jimenez of T or C, Margaret Alvarez and Laura Silva, both of Deming, and Sally Shannon of Lovington, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Isma Barbara Lanoue, 81, of Deming, died Thursday at Mimbres Memorial Hospital. Cremation will be under direction of Baca's Funeral Chapels. No services are planned.

Services for Robert Neil Moore, 71, of Arenas Valley will be at 2 p.m. today in First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Scott Penrod officiating. Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery under direction of Bright Funeral Home.
Survivors include daughters Barbara Smith of Amarillo, Texas, and Carol Poarch of Plainview, Texas; son Robert D. Moore of Albuquerque; brother Jerry A. Moore of Clayton; two sisters Marjorie Goodwin of York, Neb., and Ola Beckman of Nebraska.; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Staelens
MARTHA M. STAELENS, 91 of Las Cruces passed away peacefully at home of natural causes on Wednesday, January 19, 2000. She was born September 12, 1908 in Flanders, Belgium, and in 1919 as a child with her family immigrated to Lansing, Michigan. Martha was elected Class president in her senior year of high school and following graduation entered nursing school with her older sister, Irma. Ms. Staelens spent the 1930's in private practice, but in 1941 when the United States entered World War II, she signed up as an officer in the Army Nurse Corp. Martha served honorably in both World War II and Korean Conflict and retired in the early 1960's at the rank of Major. After her retirement, she relocated to Las Cruces where she made her home. Ms. Staelens was a member of the Association of the U.S. Army and the U.S. Army Retired Nurses Association.
Survivors include one sister, Irma M. Staelens of Las Cruces; one niece, Susan A. Box of Bellevue, Nebraska; four nephews, Richard Staelens of Vero Beach, Florida, Peter Staelens of Jerome, Michigan, James Staelens of San Pablo, Colorado and Phil Staelens of Phoenix, Arizona. Other survivors include fifteen grandnieces and nephews; fifteen great-grandnieces and nephews.

Torrez
Lorenzo Torrez, 91, of Garfield, New Mexico passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2000 at Memorial Medical Center. Mr. Torrez was born in Salem, New Mexico to Pablo and Ramona Lopez Torrez on August 10, 1908. He operated heavy machinery in the construction business and was a life-long farmer. He was a member of the San Isidro Church in Garfield, NM.
Mr. Torrez is survived by his wife, Manuela Sanchez Torrez, of Garfield, NM, who currently resides at Las Cruces Nursing Center; his daughters, Elsie Martinez and husband Reymundo, of Garfield, NM; his granddaughters, Sadie Anchondo, and husband Arturo of Whittier, CA; Cynthia Sanchez, and husband, Alfonso, of Las Cruces, NM; Christine Trujillo of Las Cruces; Rosemary Fabian and husband Jim, of Whittier, CA; grandsons, David Martinez, of Santa Fe Springs, CA; grandson, Rodolfo Trujillo Jr. of Grand Prairie, TX; great granddaughters, Cassandra Flores, Angelina Flores, and Sarah Fabian, all of Whittier, CA; Christine Hinojos, Stacy Hinojos, and Lorena Sanchez, all of Las Cruces; great grandson, Ramon Sanchez, of Las Cruces; great great granddaughters, Raeven Flores, Rebecka Flores, Kylah Flores, and great great grandson, Aarin Flores; his brothers, Edward Torrez, and wife Anna, of Las Cruces; Fermin Torrez, and wife Inez, of Compton, CA; his sisters, Paulita Chavez, of Paramount, CA; and Veva Sanchez, of Compton, CA.
