DesLOGES, STEPHEN P., 43, of Margate, died suddenly on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Shore Memorial Hospital in Somers Point.
Formerly of Saugus, MA, he was a Margate resident for seven years. He was a Surety Underwriting Officer for the Safeco Co. a coach for the Downbeach Soccer League and graduated from Boston College with a BA in financing and accounting.
He is survived by his wife Diane, a son Ryan Christopher at home, his parents Arthur and Lucille of Saugus, MA, two brothers Arthur and his wife Rita of FL, John and his wife Beatriz of MA, and sister Ann DesLoges of MA.

MARTIN, AIMEE G., 91, died Thursday, August 10, 2000, at Our Lady's Residence Health Care Center, after a short illness.
Born in Belfast, Ireland, Mrs. Martin had been an Atlantic City resident since 1924. She had been employed by New Jersey Bell Telephone for 32 years, retiring as Chief Operator.
Mrs. Martin is survived by four brothers; Thomas J. Gonnelly of Ocean City, John Gonnelly and wife Helen of Altmonte Springs, FL, Michael J. Gonnelly and wife Rita of Atlantic City and Charles Gonnelly (Fr. Theophane) of Villa Louis Martin, Jimez Springs, NM. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

DENN, SR., KEITH F., 42, of Ocean City, died on Thursday, August 10, 2000 at the Atlantic City Medical Center, Atlantic City.
He was born in Brooklyn, NY, and formerly of Palmyra, he was a resident of Ocean City for the past 13 years. He worked at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City as a Maintenance Mechanic with Local #68 Operator Engineers of Atlantic City for the last 17 years. He was an active volunteer in many charitable organizations such as the American Red Cross and Special Olympics. He also volunteered as a coach in the Ocean City Recreation League. Mr. Denn was also a member of St. Frances Cabrini Roman Catholic Church in Ocean City.
He is survived by his wife: Lisa M. (nee Kroll) of Ocean City; one daughter: Kimberly A., one son: Keith "Fran" Jr., both at home; his mother: Janet M. Denn of Palmyra and one sister: Debra Watson of Riverside.

RAVELL, MARY C., 75, of Vineland, died Wednesday evening at home. Mrs. Ravell was born in Derry, PA, and was a resident of Vineland for the past 50 years. She attended school in Derry, PA, and was a graduate of the Derry Boro High School.
Mrs. Ravell was a past member of the Vineland P.T.A. and was a den mother of the Brownie Girl Scouts. She was an avid bingo player. She was a past member of the Corinthian Chapter #80 Order of the Eastern Star, Vineland. She loved to travel throughout the United States and Canada. She attended the Faith Bible Church, Vineland. She was a former resident of Bridgeton.
Survived by: her husband of 50 years, Clyde Ravell, Jr.; son: Clyde D. of Vineland; two daughters, Lorraine Krachtus, Franklinville & Donna Figueroa, Newfield; two sisters, Connie Appelby, Vineland & Alice Roman, Raleigh, NC; three brothers, Daniel Gray, Hallandale, FL, Donald Gray, Derry, PA & Bud Gray, Sun City, CA; six grandchildren and one great grandson.

SUTTON, LEWIS W., 73, of Rio Grande, died on Friday at his home. He was born in South Dennis and had been a lifetime county resident. He was a heavy equipment operator in road construction having worked for Shore Slurry Seal of Hammonton. He was an Army Veteran of WWII and was a member of the V.F.W. Post 5343 of the Villas and a member of the L.O.O.M. Lodge #1054 of Lower Twp.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. (Thorne) who he married August 20, 1949; a daughter, Dorothy Mason of Belleplain; three brothers: Donald of Dennisville, David of Millville and Leroy of South Dennis; three sisters: Gladys Roberts of South Dennis, Marie Tozer of Florida and Ruthie Hart of Swainton; three grandchildren: Pamela Polhamus, Eddie Harris, Jr. and Nicole Mason and one great grandson: William Polhamus. He was preceded in death by a daughter: Maryann Harris Sutton, his parents: David and Agnes Sutton and a brother: Nicky.

CREAMER, SR., EDWARD L., 74, of Tuckahoe, died Saturday morning at the home of his son in Millville, after a lengthy illness. Born in Belleplain, he was the son of the late John and Ida Creamer. He was a resident of Tuckahoe for 30 years and resided with his son the past year.
He retired from Wheaton Plastics, Maintenance Dept. in Mays Landing. He was a member of the Belleplain United Methodist Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the V.F.W. Post in Belleplain.
Surviving are sons: Edward L. Jr. with whom he resided, James L. of Millville, Joseph N. of Mays Landing, Keith W. Corbin City; a daughter: Marjorie A. Atkins of Millville; a sister: Ida Heaton of Belleplain; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren.

LANGLEY, GEORGE HAROLD, 92, of South Seaville, died Wednesday, August 9, 2000, at his daughter's home in Huntsville, AL. Mr. Langley was born on August 15, 1907, in Gloucester City and was married September 11, 1935 to Ethel McGunagle. He moved with his family to Cape May Court House in 1942. After their retirement, he and his wife moved to their cottage at South Seaville Camp Meeting.
Mr. Langley was well known in area churches as an organist, for many years at the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House and later at St. Simeon's in Wildwood and Holy Trinity Lutheran in Wildwood. He was a fifty year member of the First United Methodist Church in Cape May Court House.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patricia Peake of Huntsville, AL and Carol Pickering of Cape May Court House; his sons-in-law, Troy Peake and Jim Pickering; his five grandchildren, Everette Cossaboon, Robert Frankenfield, Deborah Bingham, Pam Frankenfield; and his five great grand-children. He was predeceased by his wife, Ethel M. Langley in 1996.

THOMPSON, FLORENCE C. TURNER, of Augusta, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 11, 2001, at her residence. Florence was born in Philadelphia, PA on May 1, 1920 to Eloise and Ernest Cheatham. She was the youngest of three children and had a sister, Irene Reynolds and a brother, Ernest. She graduated from Atlantic City High School in Atlantic City in 1937. She attended West Virginia State University where she graduated Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Chemistry. She worked in a munitions factory during World War II at Aberdeen Proving Grounds where she tested the velocity of bullets and artillery shells for the U.S. Army.
She married her high school sweetheart, Maceo H. Turner in 1942. After the War, they returned to Atlantic City, where Maceo established a successful law practice and together they raised five children. Florence was a Homemaker and maintained a beautiful home in Bungalow Park where all of her neighbors, friends and family always felt welcomed. In the early 1960's, she worked for the Atlantic County Department of Human Resources., She was active in community affairs and was a member of her sorority, Delta Sigma Theta, the Links, Eastern Stars, Jack & Jill Club of America, and several charitable organizations. Florence stayed married to Maceo Turner over 25 years, until his death in 1968. She was blessed to find love again with Oliver C. Thompson and the married on February 23, 1974. They shared a home in Pittsburgh, PA where the FAA employed Oliver as an Air Carrier Inspector. When Oliver retired, they spent their summers in their home in Pleasantville, and winters in St. Kitts, West Indies. in 1997, they moved to Augusta, GA to be near his family.
Florence is survived by her husband, Oliver C. Thompson; her children, Frank Rodney Turner, Michele Irene Turner, Nicholas T. Turner, Paula Anne Turner, and Dr. Yvonne Turner Johnson; her nephews, Ernest O. Cheatham and James Cheatham; her nieces, Dr. Pat Cobb, Judy Battles, and Gloria I. Martin Graham; sons-in-law, William Turner and Albert Johnson; daughter-in-law, Gale Turner; over 30 grandchildren and great grandchildren also survive her.
Her love, compassion, and sense of humor, which she maintained all of her days, will be greatly missed.

TASCHNER, ROMELIA RUTH "RONNIE", 84, died February 16, 2001 at the Life Care Center, Scottsdale, Arizona.
Born to Sarah Holton and Walter Blaine Hyneman on February 21, 1917, Ronnie was the youngest of 6 children. She grew up in South Philadelphia, graduating from William Penn High School in 1936. At William Penn, Ronnie was voted Most Athletic in her class.
She met husband, Edwin Carl, at the Chalfonte Haddon Hall (later known as Resorts Casino) where they both worked. They married soon after on October 12, 1940 at the St. James Episcopal Church in Atlantic City. They soon moved to Ventnor, becoming active in the Trinity Methodist Church, then later to Margate becoming members of the Margate Community Church and active in the "Merrimates" social group.
Ronnie retired from Lennox China and Ed retired from Prudential Insurance Co. early 1980. They traveled across the United States and Europe then settled in Elm, near Hammonton. Ronnie & Ed moved to Arizona in 1997 to join their eldest son Ed, Jr. and his wife Mary Elizabeth.
Three sons, Edwin Carl Jr., Kenneth Alan in Fredericksburg, MD, and Dennis Clark in Trenton survive Ronnie. Also surviving are three granddaughters, Nancy Wolf and Jennifer Taschner in Fredericksburg, and Beverly Hyde in Mesa, AZ. She is especially remembered by three of her closest friends, Rockwell, Lady Yum Yum, and Itty Bitty Baily Boy, all of Fountain Hills.
Ronnie will be buried with husband Ed and daughter Beverly Ann in Laurel Memorial Park in Pomona. Reverend David Fleming of the Margate Community Church will conduct a graveside memorial service at 1pm on Tuesday, April 24.

MAIURO, ANTHONY J., of Ventnor, died Wednesday, April 18, 2001, at ACMC Mainland Division, Galloway Township.
Mr. Maiuro served in the U.S. Army during WW2 for four years and was a former member of the Ventnor City Beach Patrol. He went on to become an airline pilot for 35 years with the Flying Tigers and five years with FedEx. He was an active member of the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary Unit on Absecon Island and became Flotilla Commander in 1999. He was an avid saltwater fisherman and a lifelong Ventnor resident.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, two sons Gregory and his wife Nancy of Ventnor, and Joseph of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, a daughter, Kim Gonzales and her husband Michael of Ventnor, four sisters, Marie Leonard of Haddonfield, Gloria Ferazzi and Anna DeCicco, both of Margate and Terry Champion of Nashville, TN, four grandchildren Michelle, Andrew, Gia and Michael and many nieces and nephews.

BREITWIESER, CHRISTIANNA W., 80, of Alvin, TX, passed away at the Hospice at the Texas Medical Center in Houston, TX on April 18, 2001.
She was born in Margate and was formerly of Somers Point and Pleasantville.
She was a member of the Order of Rebecca and had been a volunteer with the American Cancer Society. She had also worked until 1944 as a buyer for the Woolworth Company. For many years she was an election official for Atlantic County and a Cub Scout Leader and a member of the PTA. Mrs. Breitwieser was also a member of the Holy Spirit High School Band Parent Association. She dedicated her life to her husband and the raising of their children.
Christianna was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Ema Hoffman, her brother Raymond Rankin and in January of 2000 her beloved husband Walter Breitwieser. She is survived by her daughter, Christianna Crawford and her husband Mike of Sante Fe, TX; two sons, Walter Breitwieser of Somers Point and David Breitwieser of TX; one brother, Charles Rankin; sister-in-law, Burtress Breitwieser of Egg Harbor Township; granddaughter Brandi Crawford; special friend David Brewer; special friend and companion Barbara Wardell; and several nieces and nephews.

O'MALLEY, PATRICK, 'LARRY', 69, of Kearny, entered into rest on April 26,2001. Born in Pittston, PA, he was a lifelong Kearny resident. He died in Fountain View Nursing Home in Lakewood.
He served in the Marine Corps during the Korean Conflict. He was a soccer coach at St. Cecilias High School in Kearny and was a member of the Teamsters. He was a truck driver for IT Continental Baking Co. in Paterson for 26 years before retiring in 1989.

GILLESPIE, JOAN E., 69, of Pompano Beach, FL and Ocean City, died Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at her Florida home.
Born in Philadelphia, PA., she had lived in Ocean City before moving to Pompano Beach in 1995.
Mrs. Gillespie worked as the advertising secretary for the Morrestown Mall, and was the professional advertising manager for the Willingboro Plaza. She was a member of St. Francis Cabrini R.C. Church in Ocean City, St. Gabriel R.C. Church in Pompano Beach, FL, and Corpus Christy R.C. Church in Willingboro. She enjoyed flowers, interior decorating and art.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Gillespie; two daughters, Joanne Miller of Orange County, CA, Deborah Gillespie of FL., and a brother, Richard Popper, of Toms River.

LYONS, HELEN G., 88, of Palermo, died on Friday at the Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. She was born in Philadelphia and lived in Avalon until 1986 when she moved to Palermo. She was a member of the Church of the Resurrection. She had been a hairdresser and her many friends knew her for her sense of humor and loved her nieces and nephews and was like a mother to them.
She is survived by her sister, Margaret E. Honer of Palermo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Patrick. Funeral Liturgy will be said on Wednesday at 10:30am, at Church of the Resurrection, Marmora where friends may call after 9:30am. Interment

MASSIMIANO, ROSEMARIE M. (nee Polino), 74, of Beach Haven Terrace, died on Thursday May 10, 2001 at Southern Ocean County Hospital, Manahawkin. Mrs. Massimiano was born in Riverside and formerly of their and moved to Beach Haven Terrace in 1965.
She was a communicant of St. Francis of Assisi R.C. Church, Brant Beach and a member of the Secular Franscians and sang in the choir, she was a past member of the Rosary and Alter Society. In the 1970's she was a cashier at Beall's supermarket of Beach Haven. Mrs. Massimiano then went onto numerous positions at St. Francis Community Center as a Volunteer, Meals on Wheels driver, Senior Services as a case evaluator for people in need, a secretary with the counseling department all of St. Francis Community Center, Brant Beach.
Surviving are her husband of 52 years Joseph two loving daughters and sons-in-law Susan and Julius Parker, Cedar Run, Tina and Tim Connor, Beach Haven Terrace. Also surviving are her granddaughter Angela and her husband Patrick Green, two great granddaughters Jessica and Madison Green all of Beach Haven Terrace.

LEWIS, CHARLES HENRY "BUTCH", 53, of Atlantic City, passed away on May 9, 2001. Born in Huntingdon, PA on July 4, 1947 to Charles and Helen (Williams) Lewis. Butch as he was affectionately called, was raised in Mt. Union, PA and was baptized at the age of 12 at Mt. Hope Baptist Church in Mt. Union, Pa. Charles graduated from Captain Jack Sr. High School. After graduation, he was drafted into the United States Army and trained as a Communication lineman. Before his tour to Vietnam, he married Nellie Jackson. From this union was born two children.
Charles worked as a heavy machine operator. He later moved to Atlantic City where he was born-again in 1999, after entering the Atlantic City Rescue Mission. This began his search for spiritual knowledge and his walk with the Lord and in so doing, he became a member of Second Baptist Church.
Charles predeceased by his father Charles Henry Lewis, Sr., leaves to mourn a son Bernard of Washington, D.C.; a daughter, Cynthia and her husband Sgt. William Perkins of Fort Hood, TX; three grandchildren, Brittany, Willie, and Travis all of Fort Hood, TX; his mother, Helen Lewis of Atlantic City; three brothers, Joseph Lewis and his wife, Carolyn of Galloway, Andrew Palmer of Atlantic City, and Michael Palmer and his wife, Ericka of Pleasantville; three sisters, Ann Lewis, Karen White, Betty Lewis all of Atlantic City; a special aunt, Jean Williams and six special cousins, Brenda Boyd, Barbara Williams, Nancy Williams, Rachel Chapman, Van Boyd and Milton Young; 12 nieces and nephews, 5 great-nieces and nephews and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

MCKINLEY JR PHD., ALFRED W., "BUD" 61, of Ocean City, and New Hope Pa. died suddenly on May 11, 2001. Loving husband of Kathleen (nee Daley) and father of Kate and Will. Also survived by 2 sisters Gail and Ann McKinley and 2 uncles H.M. Meyers and Joseph Loftus. Education: MSGR. Bonner H.S. - 1959; University of West Virginia - 1964; Temple University - 1968 - Masters in History; University of Delaware - 1981 - PHD in History. MUASAU, FAAMANU E. "FRED", 46, of Smithville, passed away in Galloway Township on May 16, 2001.
He was born in Pago Pago, American Samoa and was an area resident for many years.
He worked for the Sands Hotel and Casino, Atlantic City. Fred was previously employed at the Stockton State College in the early 80's. He also worked for the Seaview Country Club and the Comfort Inn, Absecon. Fred loved spending time with his daughters. He also enjoyed playing basketball, baseball, bowling and fishing. Fred served for the United States Marine Corp.
He is predeceased by his father, Siamupeni Muasau; he is survived by his four daughters, Rosemary Muasau, Virginia Muasau, Heather Muasau and Amy Muasau, all of Linwood; his wife, Ellen M. Sarmiento; his mother, Lika (Rita) Muasau of Arizona; his twin brother, Faafetai (Frank) Muasau of Waianae, Hawaii; and many loving brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, May 22, 2001 at the Adams-Perfect Funeral Home, 1650 New Road, Northfield. Relatives and friends may call from 5 PM until the time of the service. VINCI, ANTHONY J. "BUD", 78, of Avalon, died suddenly on May 17th. He was born in Philadelphia and moved to Sea Isle City as a child where he lived until 1977 when he moved to Avalon. He operated Vinci's Express with his father until 1957, at which time he started Shippers' Despatch, which he owned and operated until his death. He served in the United States Coast Guard during WWII. He was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and a past member of the Stone Harbor Lions Club. He is survived by his wife, Theodora; his daughters, Santa and Thea and her husband, Alan V. Gordon and a granddaughter, Nicole; also his brothers, John and Lewis and his sisters, Helen, Sadie, Rita and Jean. Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday at 11am Maris Stella Church, 49th and Dune Drive, Avalon, where friends may call after 10am. Interment

BATTAGLIA, JOSEPH D., 87, of Hammonton, died Friday May 18, 2001 at his residence. Born in Hammonton, he was an area resident all his life. He owned and operated White Horse Farm of Hammonton until his retirement at the age of 85. He was one of the five original founders of William B. Kessler Memorial Hospital in the years of 1965-65 in the planning stages. He was a member of Camden County farm Bureau, Glassboro, and the Labor Board and Negotiation Team. He was a director of the Sweet Potato Industry, a member of the Board of Managers of Rutgers University, and an officer of the NJ Tomato Growers Association. Mr. Battaglia also served as a charter member and Director of Kessler Hospital for more than 33 years. He is now director emeritus. The community leader was Chairman and Director of Production Credit of Moorestown for 33 years, Director of Glassboro Service Assn., and her served on the negotiation committee for Garden State Service Co-op Labor. He was a member of the PCA element of the board of Farm Credit Service where he served more than 33 years. Joe was an innovator who introduced flood irrigation to area farms, and was the first South Jersey farmer to run sprinklers via engine driven pumps. He was the first fruit grower to try hedgerow tree planting. Surviving is his wife of 58 years Anna (Curreri). Two daughters Joanne (and husband John Wiessner), and Eileen (and husband Olly Paretti) all of Hammonton. Six grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Thomas Dick Battaglia of Hammonton, and one sister Jennie LoBiondo of Lewes, Del. MURRAY, JOHN G., 70, of Villas, died Thursday, May 18, 2001 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he resided in Ridley Park before moving to this area for six years ago. He was employed as a printer for many years and was a production manager for S.B.F. Business Forms of Philadelphia, PA. Mr. Murray served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He was an avid boater and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Veronica (nee Franz); a daughter, Patricia Allen; a son, Jim; two grandchildren, Jackie Allen and Shaela Allen, all of Norwood, PA; and many nieces and nephews. GANT, DONALD W., 70, of Newfield, formerly of Linwood, died Thursday, May 17,2001.
Donald is the beloved husband of Ruth M. (nee Johnson); and loving father of Donna R. Giordano, Sharon L. Sophn, and Cynthia L. Stevens. Also surviving are his sister, Ruth Jenkins and brother, Howard Gant; 11 grandchildren, one great grandchild, and many nieces and nephews.

TAYLOR, HARRIET C., 91, of Wildwood Crest, passed away Friday at the Victoria Manor Nursing Home in North Cape May. Born in Wildwood, she has been a lifelong resident of the community.
Miss Taylor was a member of the First Baptist Church of Wildwood.
A teacher at Wildwood High School for 34 years; a member of the National Education Association, the New Jersey Education Association and the Retired Teachers of New Jersey and Cape May County.
She is survived by: one uncle, Elmer Taylor; cousin, Jack Taylor of Ft. Myers, FL; second cousins, Thomas T. Taylor, Jr., Terri Taylor and Linda Taylor, all of West Palm Beach, FL.
Graveside funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Baptist Cemetery in Cape May Court House.

MILLER, LESLIE A., 71, of Kirkwood, passed away as the result of a boating accident Wednesday, May 30, 2001. He was born July 27, 1929 in Greenwich Township. Les was a graduate of Rutgers University Class of 1954 with a BS in Horticulture, where he was an All American football player. His current status at Rutgers was Professor Emeritus. From 1955 to 1957 he was County Agent for Bergen County. In 1957 he came to Camden County where he was assigned Area Fruit Agent for Camden, Atlantic, Cape May and Burlington Counties which he held until he retired in 1994. Les was a lifetime member of the National Agriculture Agents Association, and a member of NJ Horticulture Society, where he held various positions. He was very active with the Camden County Board of Agriculture, formerly he was Director/Secretary NJ Peach Promotion Council, and Secretary/ Treasurer NJ Peach Council, currently he was Chairman Camden County Mosquito Commission, Secretary/ Treasurer NJ Small Fruits Council, member NJ Agriculture Agents Association, founding member of Camden County Agriculture Development Board, one of the founders of the Price-A-Peach Computer Pricing Program, NJ Vegetable Growers Association, founder of Camden County Regional Peach Festival in 1983. While under his direction the festival grew to attract over 100,000 people. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and a member of the Paulsboro Stag Club. Les was predeceased by his parents, Leslie and Alice Miller. He is survived by his long time companion, Sharon A. Stretz, and his son, Leslie H. Miller of Chicago, IL. Services will be held at the Bradley Funeral Home, Route 73, Marlton Sunday evening and a viewing will be held there from 5 to 9 p.m. Interment

LEEDS, V. EVELYN, 85, of Absecon, passed away on May 31, 2001 at Cooper Medical Center in Camden. She was born in Massachusetts and was a long time Atlantic County resident.
Mrs. Leeds was a member of the Absecon Presbyterian Church and worked on the Atlantic County Election Board.
She is survived by her husband, Harold Leeds of Absecon; two daughters, Patricia Evans and husband Arthur of Lehigh Acres, FLA; Shirley Golden and husband Dude of Galloway Township; son Jerry Leeds and wife Joanne of Everett, PA; and sister Margaret Conover of Absecon. Also surviving are 18 grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, 10:00 AM at Parsels Funeral Home in Absecon. Interment
