Albert R. Mulholland
"Bob", 28, of GallowayTownship, passed away suddenly on February 5, 2004.
Born in Somers Point, NJ, he was a lifelong resident of GallowayTownship. Bob worked most of his life as a carpet and tile layer, and also worked as an auto mechanic. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoying fishing and hunting.
Bob is survived by his sons: Albert Tyler and Seth David; his mother, Mary Delbrook of Somers Point; his father, Albert Mulholland and his wife Jeanette of Virginia, and his brother, John Michael Mulholland of GallowayTownship.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, 7:00p.m., at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing, where friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Andrew Belanger
69, of Mays Landing, passed away on February 23, 2004. Born in Detroit,Michigan, he grew up in Philadelphia and moved to Mays Landing in 1958. He worked for AtlanticCountyParks and Recreation for 19 years at his true vocation, tending the beautiful plants and flowers in the parks and at Meadowview Nursing Home. Many of his plants were grown from seed over the winter. With the help of volunteers, Andrew transformed the county parks and buildings every spring. He retired in March, 2002.
Andy is survived by his brother Chuck and his wife Nancy of Mays Landing; his twin sister Ann Grub and her husband Joe of San Diego; sisters Margie and Claire, as well as nephews, nieces, and a host of dear friends.

Andrew Michael Ditzel-Triboletti
40, of Hammonton, passed away suddenly on Friday, January 9, 2004. Andrew was raised in Hamilton Twp. and a 1982 graduate of OakcrestHigh School. He served in the U.S. Army from 1982-1985. He later graduated from the Culinary Arts Institute of ACC. He was a long-time-employee of Inferrera's Market in Hammonton. He was a member of the Hamilton Twp. Democratic Club and served as a poll worker on many elections. Andrew enjoyed reading, cooking, and loved to travel.
Andrew is survived by his mother, Helen Ditzel of Egg Harbor Twp., brother Edward and sister-in-law Anne of Philadelphia, sister Michelle Bishop and husband Ron of Egg Harbor Twp, sister Denise Byus of Egg Harbor Twp; 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Andrew also leaves behind his roommates John Wilson and Ed Bermingham, and a host of friends and relatives.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening 6-8 PM at the Boakes Funeral Home, 6050 Main St., Mays Landing where services will be held at 8 PM.

Charles Grob
101, of Mays Landing, passed away on February 7, 2004. Born in Mays Landing, he was a life-long resident. He was an Army veteran, serving during WWII. After the service he was a truck driver for the Abbott's Feed Company for many years. Charles was a member of the FirstUnitedMethodistChurch and American Legion Post 254 both in Mays Landing. In his leisure time, he loved to listen to talk-radio programs.
Preceded in death by his wife of 41 years, Mabel; he is survived by his wife of 19 years Miriam; sister Marie Hebler of Mays Landing, niece Audrey Haywood of Indiana; grandnephew Albert Barbetto and his wife Bonnie of Estell Manor; and four great-grandnieces and nephews.

Estella M. Wunder
94, of Mays Landing, passed away on January 23, 2004 at ShoreMemorialHospital. Mrs. Wunder was born and raised in Philadelphia and lived in Springfield, PA before moving to Mays Landing 40 years ago. She was the co-owner of Wunder's Restaurant in Springfield. She enjoyed fishing, cooking, and crocheting.
Preceded in death by her husband William A., she is survived by sons William A. Wunder and his wife Jeannette of Eddystone, PA and Chuck V. Wunder and his wife Jane of Mays Landing; 4 grandchildren: Holly Woolerton, Stacie Miller, Will Wunder, and Curtis Charles Wunder; and 8 great-grandchildren.

Ethel Margaret Force
77, of Glendora, passed away on January 12, 2004. Born and raised in Fairview, she lived in Brigantine for several years before moving to Glendora eight years ago. She worked for Kennedy Health Systems in the Gerentology Department of Voorhees. She enjoyed bowling with the Monday Senior League at the La Martinique Lanes of Stratford.
She is survived by 2 daughters: Barbara Sarlo of Voorhees and Betsy Jayne and her husband John of Mays Landing; sister Betsy Rippman and her husband Albert of Runnemede; 6 grandchildren: Heather, Johnny, Michelle, Melissa, Joshua, and Jennifer; and 1 great-grandchild: Kaeli.

Ethel Sutocky
81, of Egg Harbor Twp., passsed away on March 20, 2004 at her home with her family by her side. Born in Detroit in 1922 to the late Theresa and Alexander Sutocky, Ethel lived in New York before becoming a long-time resident of Atlantic City. She lived with her daughter in Egg Harbor Twp. for the past two years.
Ethel was a waitress for many years several local establishments including the Toddle Inn and Bens BBQ. It was the Cup and Saucer and Annette's where she touched the heart of everyone she served and worked with. Ethel loved to watch Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy. She also enjoyed country music during her final days, especially her favorite singer, Toby Keith.
She is survived by her two daughters: JoAnn Williams of Atlantic City and Elva Francesco of Egg Harbor Twp; two brothers: John Sutocky and his wife Florance of Blackwood and Louie Leopold and his wife Alice of Absecon; two sisters: Anne and Rosemary Sutocky, both of Ventnor; four grandchildren: Dominic Francesco, Sr. of Somers Point, Tracey Cooke of Egg Harbor, Sean Williams of Galloway, and Anthony Francesco, Jr. of Berlin; three great-grandchildren: Heather Olevsky of Egg Harbor, Sean Williams, Jr. of Galloway; and Dominic Francesco, Jr. of Mays Landing; one niece Deborah; and five nephews: Lou Jr., David, Michael, William and Alexander.

Francis Merrill Willett III
55, of Ocean City, died peacefully with family members by his side at Shore Memorial Hospital on April 22. Born in New York, Frank was an area resident for most of his life and was the son of the late Francis Merrill Jr. and Faith (Honsberger) Willett. Frank served in the United States Army, 9th Infantry Division, for which he received the Bronze Star, National Defense Service Medal and Vietnam Service Medal. Following his tour of duty in Vietnam, Frank graduated from Niagara University and returned to teach in the Egg Harbor Township School District where he taught for 31 years and coached football for almost 20 years. Frank is survived by a large and loving family including his wife Susan and their daughter, Catherine Merrill, of Ocean City, his son Francis Merrill IV, and his wife Kelly of Tuckahoe, NJ, his son US Army Captain Terrence Christopher currently stationed at Fort Benning, GA, daughter Jennifer Elizabeth of Margate and their mother, Carol, of Somers Point. Frank is also survived by his brothers Henry and his wife Sally of Silver Spring, MD, Chris and his wife Annette of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Thomas and his wife Lisa of Collings Lake, NJ, Anthony and his wife Nancy of Annandale, VA, David and his wife Sue of Petersburg, NJ, his sisters Mary and her husband Robert Jeter of Arnold, MD, Isabelle and her husband Joseph Colonna of Windsor, MA, and his maternal Aunt, Barbara Honsberger of Baltimore, MD. Frank was also blessed with a precious granddaughter, Faith Marie, daughter of Fran and Kelly and 20 nieces and nephews. His family shall miss him greatly and the inner strength he provided to all of them. Frank loved football, biking, gardening, flying and most of all, family gatherings with his children. Frank Maruska
"Hunkie", 81, of HamiltonTownship, passed away on May 21, 2004 at KesslerMemorialHospital.
Born and raised in Trenton, he was a resident of the Weymouth section of HamiltonTownship for 53 years. Mr. Maruska served in the United States Army during World War II. He was a member and past chief of the Weymouth Vol. Fire Company, where he served for several years and was active in the Forest Fire Service. Frank worked for the Hamilton Township Public Works as a Heavy Equipment Operator for over 20 years. After his retirement he was an avid farmer and a well known huckster. During his leisure time he enjoyed fishing.
Mr. Maruska is survived by his 2 daughters: Judith Petroski and husband William of Egg Harbor Township and Kathleen McIntyre and husband Jim of Egg Harbor Township; his 3 grandchildren: Sherri Branca, WIlliam B. Petroski, Jr., and Stephen Simpkins, Jr.; and his great-grandchildren: Adriene Branca, Richard Branca, Jr., Clayton Simpkins and Cayla Simpkins.

Geneva Bennett
72, of Mays Landing, slipped away to eternal rest and peace on Thursday, January 22, 2004 at NewcombHospital in Vineland. Born in New Zion, SC, she was educated in North Carolina and Vineland,NJ and has been a Mays Landing resident since 1966. She was employed at Wheaton Plastico and a past member of the Bottle Blowers Association of the United States. She was later employed at the VinelandDevelopmentalCenter in Vineland for 15 years where she worked in many positions starting as a nursing assistant and later to the position of resident living specialist. She was a member of AFSCME Local #2215.
Geneva loved to sew and cook for her girls and family, and she liked to slip away to the casino to play the slots with her sister-in-law Geraldine.
She is preceded in death by her husband Charles U. Bennett, daughter Margaret Geneva Burgess, sisters Lilly Mae "Tee" Baysden and Hattie Burgess Ayers, and brother Raymond Louis Burgess. She is survived by daughters Jannas Stokes and her husband Clarence of Millville, Mary Ann Howard and her husband Marion of Estell Manor, Joan Bennett of Mays Landing, Carol Correa of Egg Harbor Twp., and Velma White Palmer of South Carolina; three sisters: Inez Bannermen of Teacher, NC, Blanche Furlow of Rose Hill, NC, and Ann Furlow of Port Washington, NY; four brothers: Samuel Burgess and Desiree Francis of Brooklyn, NY, Leroy Burgess and his wife Geraldine of Quakertown, PA, Robert Burgess and his wife Vanessa Burgess of Baltimore, MD; and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Georgetta “La” Gaunt
(nee: Ireland), 54, of Fort Pierce, FL, formerly of Mizpah, died January 17, 2004 at the Indian River Memorial Hospital in Vero Beach, FL.
Mrs. Gaunt was born in Atlantic City and was raised in Mizpah. She resided in Indian Mills before moving to Fort Pierce 16 years ago. A dedicated homemaker, Mrs. Gaunt enjoyed crafts, traveling, and taking her annual cruise with her husband.
Survivors include her loving husband of 35 years, John; mother Lydia Ireland of Indian Mills; her sisters Catherine Dixon and her husband Gary of Mizpah and Dorothy Morris and husband Dave of Indian Mills; her brother John Ireland of Mizpah; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Georgetta was loved by many family and friends and will be dearly missed by all. She is predeceased by her sister Marguerite and her father George Ireland.

Harry S. Short
85, of Mays Landing, passed away on October 26, 2004 at Our Lady's Residence in Pleasantville. Born and raised in Philadelphia he also spent some of his childhood in SeaIsleCity. He has been a resident of Mays Landing for the past 42 years. He served in the U.S. Army Corp. of Engineers in the Pacific during WWII and was a member of VFW Post 220 in Mays Landing. Harry was a retired teacher at the AtlanticCountyVocational School in Mays Landing. He previously worked most of his life as a pastry chef. He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Church where he volunteered as a C.C.D. teacher. During his leisure time he enjoyed golfing, woodworking, and baking in his younger years, and more recently sitting on his front porch of Main Street.
Preceded in death by his son Robert, he is survived by his wife of 63 years Genevieve; five children: Henry Stephen Short and his wife Esther of Ecuador, Ralph Short and his wife Nancy, Mary Frances Prychka and her husband Peter, Connie Garreffi and her husband Tony all of Mays Landing, and Kathy Short of Fort Lauderdale, FL; 11 grandchildren: Jeanette, Patrick, Carol, Mary Faith, and Colleen Short, Christopher Prychka, Jennifer DeAngelis, Michele Beane, and Tony, Nick and Gina Garreffi; and seven great-grandchildren.

James Roumbas
"Jimmy", 67, of Linwood, passed away after a brief illness on January 6, 2004 at the PresbyterianHospital in Philadelphia. Born in Athens, Greece, he immigrated to New York City in January, 1951. He served in the
U.S. Army from 1955-57. He has been a Linwood resident for 32 years. Jimmy and his wife have been the proud owners of Ye Olde Mill Street Pub in Mays Landing since 1976. He was one of the founding members of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Egg Harbor Twp.
He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of 41 years Soteria; 3 children: Georgia Psilopoulos and her husband Gus of Egg Harbor Twp., Toula Georgopoulos and her husband Dimitri of Linwood, and Nick Roumbas and his wife Renee of Linwood; 7 grandchildren: Maria, Melina, Niko, Dimetrios, Eleni, Soteria, and Nicholas; his sister Olga Georgiou and her husband Antonios of Somers Point; his niece Joanne Georgiou, his nephew Nick Georgiou; and many other relatives and friends who will miss him dearly.

John B. Thomas IV
38, of Brigantine, passed away on January 17, 2004 at the Atlantic CityMedicalCenter. Born in Atlantic City, he was raised in Phillipsburg where he graduated from PhillipsburgHigh School in 1984. He has been a Brigantine resident for 13 years. He worked for the Showboat Hotel & Casino as a Pit Clerk for the past 10 years. John loved all animals, especially cats.
He is survived by his father John B. Thomas III of Egg Harbor Twp., his mother Karen Weirsky (nee: Drenchko) and stepfather Joseph Weirsky of Lopatcong Twp.; his companion Brian E. Connelly of Brigantine; maternal grandmother Mary Drenchko of Harmony Twp.; paternal grandmother Vera Thomas of Somers Point; sister Jennifer Thomas of Egg Harbor Twp.; stepsister Michele Longabardo of Mays Landing; stepbrother Joseph Weirsky of Virginia Beach, VA; one niece; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Joseph Bianco
93, of Mays Landing, passed away on September 29, 2004. Born in the Bronx, NY he resided in Myrtle Beach, SC before moving to Mays Landing one year ago. As a showman, he had the opportunity to travel throughout the entire United States. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, and loved going to the racetrack.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years Pearl; three children: Diane Tursi and her husband Joe of EHT, Perry and his wife Susan of St. Cloud, FL, and Raymond and his wife Vicki of Anderson, SC; nine grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; and four siblings: Raymond Bianco, Jennie Quin, Jerry Marrow, and Buggie Bianco.

Julia Schultz
85, of Mays Landing, passed away July 10, 2002 at Absecon Manor. Mrs. Schultz haas been a Mays Landing resident since 1980, moving from Rutherford.
In her earlier years, she worked for the R.C.A. Corporation in Kearney and Englehard Industries Corp. in Newark.
Surviving are her sisters; Mrs. Margaret Huppert of Mays Landing, Mrs. Norma Williams of West Palm Beach, FL, and Mrs. Charlotte Piscatello of Mays Landing.

Lawrence A.Gatta, Sr.
74, of Mays Landing, passed away on January 7, 2004. Born and raised in Marcus Hook, he has been a resident of the Oaks of Weymouth for 6 years. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. After his military service he worked as a timekeeper for Sun Oil Company in Marcus Hook, PA where he was well liked by his co-workers. In his leisure time he enjoyed playing cards.
He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Mary; 5 children: Cindy Gatta of Wilmington, DE, Dan Gatta of Channahon, IL, Lawrence Gatta of Glenmoore, PA, Jeff Gatta of Brookhaven, PA, and Joseph Gatta of Willistown, PA; 3 step-children: Lori Davidson, Maria McKenna, and Theresa Davidson; brother John Gatta of Knottingham, PA; sister Dina DeSantis of California; 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
