Funeral services for Gerald (Jerry) Wilford Dobbins Jr., 47, of Thomas will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 14, 1998, at First Baptist Church of Thomaswith Rev. Ron Brown officiating.
Burial will follow in the Mound Valley Cemetery in Thomas under the direction of Lockstone Funeral Home of Thomas.
Jerry was born to Gerald and Betty (Browning) Dobbins on Dec. 8, 1950, in Altus and died on Saturday, Jan. 10, 1998, at Southwestern Memorial Hospital in Weatherford.
Jerry was raised in the Thomas area. He attended school at Thomas, graduating in 1969. He attended Oklahoma State University where he played football and later attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University. He married Linda Webb on Sept. 10, 1971, in Clinton. They made their home in Thomas. They were married for 26 years.
Jerry was employed by Dobbins Implement of Watonga and McNeill Grain of Thomas. He later entered into the family business of Custom Harvesting with his dad and brother.
Jerry and his brother Randy also owned and operated Air Hog Inc., a commercial fertilzer applicator company.
Jerry was an avid sports fan. He enjoyed watching his girls play softball, basketball and track. Jerry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed flying remote control airplanes. He and Linda spent many enjoyable hours riding their motorcycle with Randy and Lianna and friends.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Thomas. Jerry was 32nd Mason and a member of the Thomas Lodge, U.S. Custom Harvestors, Harley Owner Group and National Rifle Association. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association or the First Baptist Church of Thomas.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Dobbins of Thomas; two daughters, Amber and Crystal of Thomas; parents, Gerald and Betty Dobbins of Thomas; one brother, Randy Dobbins and his wife Lianna of Thomas; one sister, Brenda Dobbins of Yukon; mother-in-law, Modean Webb of Clinton; brother-in-law, Phil Webb and his wife Marshia of Vacaville, Cal.; one nephew, Justin Dobbins of Thomas; two nieces, Carisa Dobbins of Thomas and Bridget Gregory of Yukon; and numerous aunts and uncles and cousins.

Dr. T. Jeff Toma, longtime Weatherford resident, died November 9 [1999] at Baptist Hospital in Oklahoma City. He was 83. Dr. Toma was born in 1916 in Brinkman to Lebanese parents George and Martha Toma. He graduated from high school from Granite in 1934. He graduated from the University of Oklahoma in 1939 where he majored in Zoology and graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Dental School in 1947.
