Funeral: 1 p.m. Monday at Jones Mortuary in East Palo Alto, Calif.
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Mr. Albert Winston Barnes, 58, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in Palo Alto.
Mr. Barnes was a graduate of M.F. Nichols High School in Biloxi and was a member of Riley Chapel Methodist Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Barnes.
Survivors include his wife, Ella Barnes of Palo Alto; his mother, Laura Barnes of Biloxi; a daughter; a son; four sisters, Leslie Barnes, Evelyn Barnes, and Leona Dudley, all of Biloxi, and Vivian Evans of Gulfport; two brothers, Leo Barnes of San Jose, Calif., and Theodore Barnes of Biloxi; and four grandchildren.
A service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Jones Mortuary in East Palo Alto with burial in Palo Alto Cemetery. Richmond Funeral Home in Biloxi is in charge of local arrangements.

Geneva D. Clark
PASS CHRISTIAN - Geneva D. Clark, 84, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Clark was born in Hancock County and was a lifelong resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She was a former member of the Legion of Mary and also participated in the Cursillo Movement of South Mississippi. She was a member of St. Stephen's Catholic Church in DeLisle.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Clark, and a son, Jerry Clark.
Survivors include two daughters, Charlene Stagg of Long Beach and Barbara Rolen of Orange Grove; a son, Ronald Clark; a sister, Azaliene Clark, both of DeLisle; 10 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A service was held at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Stephen's Catholic Church with burial in Evergreen Gardens in Gulfport. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport was in charge of arrangements.
The family prefers memorials to St. Stephen's Catholic Church, 25220 St. Stephens Road, Pass Christian, MS 39571.

Joseph A. Cox Sr.
Funeral: 3 p.m. Sunday at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes.
OCEAN SPRINGS - Joseph A. (Pee Wee) Cox Sr., 81, of Ocean Springs, died February 18, 1999, at his home in Ocean Springs.
Mr. Cox was a native of Biloxi, Miss., and a resident of Ocean Springs, Miss., for the past 22 years. He was of the Assembly of God faith, and a member of Cedar Lake Christian Assembly in Biloxi, Miss. As a young man, Mr. Cox worked with his father in the seafood industry, and sailed schooners all along the Gulf of Mexico. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII aboard the USS Libra (AKA 12), stationed in the Pacific. After the war he returned to his home in Biloxi. Mr. Cox retired as supervisor of the Wood Shop in the Training Aids Department at Keesler AFB, and retired after 30 years of Civil Service. He enjoyed camping, and was a member of the National Campers and Hikers Association, the Dixie Royal Rovers Camping Club, and the Mississippi Lucky Ones Camping Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Cox, and Ruby Gollott Cox; one brother, Louis Elwood Cox; and sisters, Bonnie Cox Madden and Trula Cox Bond.
He is survived by his dearly loved wife of 64 years, Ollie Maples Cox; two children, Joseph A. (Arnie) Cox, Jr. and his wife, Betty, and Carolyn Cox Brown and her husband, Jerry; his five grandchildren, Jerry Brown Jr., Ginger Chappelle and husband Hal, Joseph T. Cox, Richard A. Cox, and James D. Cox and wife Kai; nine great-grandchildren, Bryan Chappelle and wife Amy, Sherry Chappelle, Jerry Brown III, Carolyn Anne Brown, Joseph B. Cox, Michelle Cox, Courtney Cox, Lahela Gusman Cox and Brittaney Cox. He had one great-great-grandchild, Hannah Cox. Mr. Cox will be greatly missed by his family and his many friends.
A visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 20, 1999, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home. The funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday. Feb. 21, 1999, at the funeral home chapel with visitation one hour before the service.

Percy P. Deshamp
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana.
GULFPORT - Percy P. Deshamp, 84, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Deshamp was a native and lifelong resident of Harrison County. He was a retired road foreman for Harrison County and a member of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtis Deshamp; three sons, Preston Deshamp, Richard "Dubbie" Deshamp, and Larry James Deshamp; a daughter, Susie D. Erkhart; his parents, Delmar Deshamp and Lorraine Deshamp; and two brothers, J.P. Peterson and Percell Peterson.
Survivors include a son, Percy Ray Deshamp of Lizana; four daughters, Doris D. Snowden of Lyman and Joyce D. Ladner and Julia D. Weldon, both of Lizana, and Gayle D. Cochran of New Augusta; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 tonight at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport, with recitation of the rosary at 7 p.m. A procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m. Saturday for a 10 a.m. service at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Lizana. Burial will be in Wolf River Cemetery.

Luvenia A. Dobson
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Carriere.
POPLARVILLE - Mrs. Luvenia A. Conn Dobson, 91, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Poplarville.
Mrs. Dobson was a native of Brookhaven and a former resident of Carriere for the past 40 years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Carriere.
Survivors include three sons, Edward F. Dobson of Caesar, Judge Joseph R. Dobson of Kiln, and John T. Dobson of Picayune; five daughters, Alene D. Bancks and Thelma D. Foreman, both of Sulphur, La., Betty L. Jarrell of the Millcreek community, Paulette D. Entrekin of Ellisville, and Faye D. Powell of Poplarville; a brother, James Conn of Pikeville, Ky.; four sisters, Etta Lee Baygents of Ocean Springs, Lillian Headrick of Laurel, Alphretta Robinson of Ellisville and Jeanette Robinson of Orlando, Fla.; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at McDonald Funeral Home in Picayune. A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church of Carriere where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in Carriere Cemetery.

OCEAN SPRINGS - Mr. Frank X. Dolan, 73, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Ocean Springs.

GULFPORT - Clara Evans, 89, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in Gulfport.

Stephen Franklin French
Funeral: Noon today at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Stephen Franklin French, 35, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, February 16, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. French was a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and a graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi and also attended William Carey College. He taught in Gulfport Schools and was a partner in the laundry business with his brother, George E. French Jr. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Gulfport, the Gulfport Yacht Club and the Harley Owners Group.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Edward "Ed" French.
Survivors include his mother, Joan Benigno French of Gulfport; a sister, Robin French Clements and her husband, Lee Clements of Gulfport; a brother, George E. French Jr. and his wife, Ashley Conwill French of Gulfport; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Benigno of Pass Christian; and three nephews, Brent French, Danny French, and Colin Clements.
The funeral service will be today at 12 noon at the First Baptist Church Chapel in Gulfport where friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.
The family prefers memorials to the Diabetes Foundation of Mississippi, 16 North Town Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39211-3058.

Anastasia Gayaut
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Edmond Fahey Funeral Home Chapel in Bay St. Louis.
BAY ST. LOUIS - Anastasia (Anna) Pitalo Gayaut, 70, of Bay St. Louis, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999, at Gulfport Memorial Hospital in Gulfport.
Mrs. Gayaut was born March 7, 1928, in Biloxi, MS, and was a longtime resident of Bay St. Louis, MS. She was a member and a retired teacher of Our Lady of the Gulf and Our Lady Academy. She was past president and life member of American Legion Auxiliary Unit 139 and a member of La Femmes.
Survivors include her husband, Gilbert D. Gayaut Jr. of Bay St. Louis, MS; a daughter, Sandra Gayaut Beebe of Bay St. Louis, MS; three sons, Anthony Gayaut and his wife, Susan of Corpus Christi, TX, Philip Gayaut and his wife, Janie of Pearl River, LA, and Kenny Gayaut of Bay St. Louis, MS. Also survived by one brother, Anthony (Buddy) Pitalo Jr., and his wife, Patricia of Bay St. Louis, MS; seven grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held Friday, February 19, 1999, from 7 p.m. until 9 p.m. at the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home in Bay St. Louis. There will be a prayer service at 10 a.m. Saturday, February 20, 1999, in the chapel of the Edmond Fahey Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Bay St. Louis.

OCEAN SPRINGS - Mr. Edward L. Jester, 63, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Ocean Springs.

Patty J. Jones
Funeral: 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi.
BILOXI - Patty J. Jones, 67, died Thursday, Feb. 18, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Jones was a lifelong resident of the Coast and was a member of the Biloxi Chamber of Commerce and the Biloxi-Ocean Springs Board of Realtors. She was a Methodist.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry L. Jones.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Jane Jones of Arlington, Texas; a son, Ralph A. Jones of Biloxi; two stepdaughters, Keitha Campbell and Glenetta Flynn, both of Johnson City, Tenn.; two sisters, Bernice Sweeney of Jackson and Winona Holden of Vancleave; a brother, Glenn Wilson of Vancleave; and four grandchildren.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi where friends may call one hour before service time. Burial will be in the Biloxi City Cemetery.

Steve Kolisnyk

PASCAGOULA - Steve Kolisnyk, 72, died Saturday, Feb. 13, 1999, in Pascagoula.
A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula. O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula and Gautier is in charge of arrangements.

Elizabeth H. Moore
Funeral: 10 a.m. Monday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Biloxi.
NEW ORLEANS - Mrs. Elizabeth H. Moore, 80, of 2535 Esplanade Ave., died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999, in New Orleans.
Mrs. Moore was born Dec. 1, 1918, in Expose and was retired from Memorial Hospital at Gulfport as a nursing assistant. She was a former member of Main Street Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. She was a member of Love and Charity, and Herrion of Jericho.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Daniel Moore; and her parents, Ester Harvey and Lorena Wilson Harvey.
Survivors include a stepson, Stanley Moore; and a sister, Ruthie Bickham of New Orleans.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Monday at Richmond Funeral Home in Biloxi. A service will follow at 10 a.m. at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Biloxi with burial in Biloxi National Cemetery.

Carvie S. Oldham Jr.
Funeral: Memorial service at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi.
GULFPORT - Carvie S. Oldham Jr., 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 17, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mr. Oldham was a native of Durham, N.C., and a resident of Gulfport for 31Ú2 years. He was senior vice-president of construction for Shular Companies, Inc., in Gulfport and was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi.
He was preceded in death by his father, Carvie S. Oldham.
Survivors include his wife, Diane W. Oldham of Gulfport; a daughter, Kendra Munchow; a son, Sean Oldham, both of Memphis; his mother, Louise Oldham of Oriental, N.C.; a sister, Judy Honeycutt of Durham; and a grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer where friends may call from 1:30 p.m.until service time. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

Clyde J. Parker Sr.
Funeral: 10 a.m. Saturday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home Chapel, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Clyde J. Parker Sr., 78, died Tuesday, Feb. 16, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Parker was a native of Harrison County and was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II. He retired after 30 years as a mechanic at the Gulfport CB Center and was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Parker and Ida Moran Parker; a son, C.J. Parker; and a sister, Gladys Curvin.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Parker of Gulfport; two sons, Larry Joe Parker of Pass Christian and Walter Parker of Lizana; a daughter, Donna Faye Mann of Lizana; a brother, Glen Parker of Lizana; a sister, Betty Moran of Pass Christian; and six grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 tonight at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel with burial in Wolf River Cemetery in Harrison County.

Germaine Romero

BILOXI - Germaine Gauthreaux Romero, 86, of Biloxi, died Wednesday, February 17, 1999, in Ocean Springs, MS.
Mrs. Romero was born in Broussard, LA, on May 28, 1912. She was a resident of Biloxi for over 70 years. She was a wonderful mother and housewife. She worked in the seafood industry for many years. She was a Catholic, a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church and a past member of the Altar Society. She was a member of the Fleur de Lis Ladies Auxiliary for over 40 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Columbus Romero; a sister, Nina Eggers of Biloxi; a brother, Donnie Gauthreaux of Broussard, LA; her parents, Theodile and Levi Gauthreaux of Broussard, LA.
Survivors include five daughters, Doris Mitchell and her husband, John Mitchell of Merced, CA, Gladys Touchet and her husband, Austin Touchet of Biloxi, MS, Rose Gray and her husband, Aubert Gray of Pascagoula, MS, Yvonne Reaux and her husband, Gilbert Reaux of Biloxi, MS, and Nina Jones and her husband, Gary Jones of Ocean Springs, MS; two sons, Roland Romero of Biloxi, MS, and Charles Romero and his wife, Jeannette Romero of Ocean Springs, MS; one sister, Camilla Gauthreaux Breaux of Gulfport, MS. She is survived by 21 grandchildren, Charlotte Miller Lockey, Barbara Miller Mazzei, Michael Miller, Delbert York, Belinda York Lamey, Kim Touchet, Sonya Touchet Gehrke, Tony Touchet, Brian Touchet, Lisa Touchet Harkey, Mona Bunch Perez, Phyllis Bunch Ferrill, Karen Bunch, Jeannine Reaux Bryant, Myrna Romero, Josette Romero, Chad Romero, Rachel Romero, Johanna Romero, Jeramey Jones and Jared Jones; 19 great-grandchildren, Damon Black, Jason Black, Bradley Miller, Derek Miller, Monique Mazzei, Jason Moran, Michael York, Jacob Miller, Richard Gehrke, Dustin Touchet, Brandon Harkey, David Harkey, Amber Harkey, Vannessa Perez, Candace Perez, Melissa Perez, Tara Ferrill, Philip Bunch and John Bone; and four great-great-grandchildren, Candance Black, Brianna Black, Caleb Black and Jessica Black.
Visitation will be held Sunday, February 21, 1999, at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi from 5 to 9 p.m. with a recitation of the rosary at 8 p.m. On Monday, February 22, 1999, a 9:45 processional will leave the funeral home for a 10 a.m. service at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Biloxi. Burial will be in Biloxi National Cemetery.

Vivian Lucille Stodghill
Funeral: Graveside at 2 p.m. Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
GULFPORT - Mrs. Vivian Lucille Stodghill, 82, a resident of Gulfport, died Thursday, February 18, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Stodghill, a native and lifelong resident of Gulfport, was a graduate of Gulfport High School. She attended Western Kentucky University, and was a retired civil service accountant at Keesler Air Force Base.
Mrs. Stodghill is survived by a niece, Nancy Scholl; two great-nephews, Trey Scholl and Andrew Scholl, all of Brandon; and her caregiver and friend, Patsy Mayfield of Gulfport.
Graveside services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, February 20, in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport. The family prefers memorials to First Church of the Nazarene in Gulfport.
Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport, is in charge of arrangements.

Charles Taylor
Funeral: 11 a.m. Saturday at Unity Funeral Home in Corpus Christi, Texas.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - Charles Taylor, 69, died Monday, Feb. 15, 1999.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Gulfport and a resident of Corpus Christi for 29 years.
Survivors include his wife, Juanita Taylor; two daughters, Dianna T. Brook of Virginia Beach, Va., and Penelope K. Taylor of Gulfport; three sons, Timothy Ray Taylor, Malcolm Pendelton, and Donald Ray Robinson, all of Gulfport; four sisters, Bertha Taylor of Lake Terrace, Calif., Dianne Franklin, Hope Taylor and Stephanie Hines, all of Gulfport; five brothers, Samuel Taylor of Kansas City, Kan., Dwight E. Taylor, Meddie Anthony Taylor, Gregory Taylor and Leslie Taylor, all of Gulfport; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A wake will be held at 7 tonight at Unity Funeral Home in Corpus Christi. A service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home chapel.
