OCEAN SPRINGS - Etta L. "Noonie" Benezue, 93, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Benezue was born in Jackson County and remained a lifelong resident. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Ocean Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Raphael A. Benezue.
Survivors include two daughters, Denise M. Byrd and Vida M. Risk; two sons, Donald J. Benezue and Lynn A. Benezue, all of Ocean Springs; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes. A service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the funeral home chapel, with burial in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
Alan D. Breland

GULFPORT - Mr. Alan D. Breland, 44, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. Breland was born in Red Lodge, Mont., and had been a longtime resident of Gulfport. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School and was a member of First Baptist Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his father, Covert D. Breland.
Survivors include his wife, Jo Ann Breland; a daughter, Jennie Breland Harrison; his mother, Sylvia Breland; a brother, Alvin Breland; and two sisters, Faye Breland, all of Gulfport, and Judy Lee of Long Beach.
A memorial service will be at 7:30 tonight at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Gulfport, where friends may call 30 minutes before service time.

LONG BEACH - Gregory Basali Capuyan, age unavailable, died Friday, April 23, 1999 in Long Beach.
Mr. Capuyan was a longtime member of St. Patrick's Episcopal Church in Long Beach. He was employed with the Oreck Company and was a Navy veteran.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda Capuyan; a son, Wayne Capuyan; two brothers, Steve Capuyan and Robert Capuyan; and six sisters, Rose Mangaong, Mary Zabala, Florence Aben, Evangeline Singson, Juliet Castro, and Valentina Salvador.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. tonight at the Riemann Funeral Home, 25th Avenue in Gulfport. A service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Patrick's Episcopal Church with burial in the Biloxi National Cemetery.

WOOLMARKET - Dorothy Evans Johnson, 73, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Johnson was born Aug. 9, 1925, in Saucier and graduated from Gulfport High School. She attended the Women's Business College in New Orleans where she received a degree in accounting and the University of Mississippi where she studied art and received her real estate license. She retired as an auditor for the Mississippi Power Company after 23 years of service and was employed in the real estate business where she was a member of the Million Dollar Sales Club and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Board of Realtors. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Gulfport, the Order of the Eastern Star No. 306 in Long Beach, and served as president of the Mississippi Gulf Coast Art Association for several years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Leo Johnson; her parents, Lillie Anne Fayard Sorrels and Henry Vonley Evans; and a brother, Joseph Edwin Evans.
Survivors include a son, Michael Joseph Johnson of Woolmarket; ; two brothers, Hardy V. Evans of Long Beach and William Evans of Gulfport; and a grandson.
Visitation was from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Riemann Memorial Funeral Home, U.S. 49 North, Gulfport. A service will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the funeral home chapel with burial in Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket.

PASCAGOULA - Chad A. "Buddy" Jones, 67, died Friday, April 30, 1999, in Pascagoula.
Mr. Jones was born Feb. 28, 1932, in Cruger, Miss., and had been a resident of Pascagoula for the past 59 years. He graduated from Pascagoula High School and served in the Air Force. He worked for Fram Filter Corporation, was owner of World Parts and worked for Gerry Lane Chevrolet, William Mitchell Motors, Jim Robinson Inc., Mickey Baggett and Empress Auto and Audio. Mr. Jones was a past member of Masonic Lodge No. 419 and was a member of Shriner Mini-Midgets.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William H. "Bill" and Ida L. Jones.
Survivors include his wife, Billie Owens Jones; two sons, Patrick Casey Jones and Christopher Sean Jones; and a sister, Mary Jones Daggett.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Monday at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula, where friends may call an hour before service time. Burial will be in Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
Clara Cecelia McLeod

GULFPORT - Mrs. Clara Cecelia Ladner McLeod, 79 years old, a resident of Gulfport, entered into eternal life Thursday, April 29, 1999.
She entered into this life October 4, 1919, in the Ladner Community to a family of seven children. Mrs. McLeod worked at the MacSmith Factory, Splendid Cafe, Markham Hotel, and Paradise Point. She was a member of St. John and St. James Catholic Churches in Gulfport. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Hooker C. McLeod; her parents, Delarie and Cevelia Ladner; and a brother, Norman Ladner.
Survivors include her daughter, Emilie C. Ladner and her husband, Leland; her sisters, Valina Ladner, Nita Achee and her husband, Earl, Wilda Moran and her late husband, J.P. Moran, Adele LaFontaine and her husband, Owen; her brother, Merlin Ladner and his wife, Mary Ellen; her sister-in-law, Mrs. Norman "Neldra" Ladner; her granddaughters, Valerie L. Malley and her husband, George, Sabine E. Ladner, Patrice L. Torricelli and her husband, Damon; her grandsons, Leland L.. Ladner Jr. and his wife, Tami, Lovell M. Ladner and his wife, Jane; seven great-grandchildren, Pamela Jacobson and her husband, David, Melissa Malley, Jarrod Malley, Jonathan Ladner, Nicolas Ladner, Ashlyn Torricelli, and Zachary Torricelli; two great-great-grandchildren, Amber Jacobson and Kirsten Ladner; and many special nieces and nephews.
We trust God's promise and doubt Him never. For only through death can she live forever. She will live forever in our hearts.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. and after 6 p.m. Sunday, May 2, 1999, at the Riemann Funeral Home 25th Avenue in Gulfport, with the recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m. The celebration of the funeral Mass will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. James Catholic Church, where friends may call after 10 a.m. Monday. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport.

GULFPORT - Mr. Ray E. O'Briant, 60, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mr. O'Briant was born in Appanoose County, Iowa, and had been a resident of the Coast for 36 years. He was a machine operator at Halter Marine in Gulfport and was the former owner of O'Briant's Discount Furniture Store in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lewis O'Briant and Leone Emma Sibley O'Briant; and a brother, Jon Wayne O'Briant.
Survivors include his wife, Pauline W. O'Briant of Gulfport; four daughters, Raylene Scarborough of Wiggins, Cindy Scarborough of Saucier, Terri Torries of McHenry and Paula O'Briant of Gulfport; a brother, R. Gene O'Briant of San Rafael, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.

BILOXI - Dorothy "Dot" Rawls, 77, died Thursday, April 29, 1999, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Rawls was a native of Kokomo and a graduate of Kokomo High School. She was a longtime resident of Biloxi and was retired from the personnel office at Keesler. She was a member of Beauvoir United Methodist Church in Biloxi and was a volunteer for the Sunshine Guild at Gulf Coast Medical Center.
She was preceded in death by a son, Ronald Eugene Rawls; and a daughter, Linda Diane Taranto.
Survivors include her husband, Earl T. Rawls; a son, Daniel E. Rawls, both of Biloxi; a brother, Hilton "Smokey" Ginn of Dallas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Monday at Riemann Funeral Home on Beauvoir Road in Biloxi. A procession will then leave the funeral home at 2:10 p.m. for a 2:30 p.m. graveside service at Biloxi National Cemetery.

GULFPORT - Mrs. Maude Lee Thompkins, 85, died, Monday, April 26, 1999, in Gulfport.
Mrs. Thompkins was a native Shubuta, Miss., and had been a longtime resident of Gulfport. She was a former member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Handsboro and was a member of St. James Baptist Church in Gulfport, where she served as a Deaconess, Sunday School teacher, Matron of Shepherd Boys and a member of the Mission. She was a graduate of the Mississippi Baptist Seminary.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Will and Elderberry Connor; and her husband, Abraham Thompkins.
Survivors include two sons, Alfred Dave Thompkins of Chicago and Eugene Thompkins of Tampa, Fla.; two daughters, Barbara Ann Stoffer of Los Angeles and Vickie Harris of Gulfport; two sisters, Willie Mae Lanier of Sandusky, Ohio and Lee Ethel Bailey of Chicago; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. James Baptist Church, where friends may call two hours before service time. Burial will be in Pine Ridge Gardens in Gulfport. Hartwell's Christian Mortuary in Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.

OCEAN SPRINGS - Judy Maureen Wyndham, 51, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, in Ocean Springs.
Mrs. Wyndham was born in Barron, Wisconsin and had been a longtime resident of the Coast. She was a member of Belle Fountain Baptist Church and was also a member of Camp Blue Bird. Mrs. Wyndham was a loving and caring person. She will be dearly missed.
Survivors include a daughter, Camille Wyndham of Atlanta, GA.; a son, Billy C. Wyndham of Ocean Springs; her mother, Leona Hubbard of Orange Grove; three sisters, Alice Bosarge of Gulfport, Kathy Miller of Biloxi and Audrey Craig of Orange Grove; four brothers, Phillip J. Hubbard of Gulfport, George Hubbard of D'Iberville, Allan Hubbard of Japan and Michael Hubbard of Orange Grove; and a grandchild.
