BOGALUSA, La. - Marion E. Campbell, age 74, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at Dixon Medical Center in Covington, La.
A resident of Bogalusa, La., since 1951, she was born in Prentiss. She was a member of ESM Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, the Daughters of the American Revolution, the Order of the Eastern Star, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, the National Society of Colonial Dames, the Philharmonic Music Club, the Civic League of Bogalusa, and the Delphians. She was employed as an administrative secretary for Bogalusa School District Office of Superintendent for 31 years.
She was preceded in death by her father, Reese Branton; her mother, Lena Branton; a brother, Homer L. Branton; and a sister, Evelyn Allen.
Survivors include her husband of 54 years, Byron Campbell of Bogalusa, La.; a daughter and son-in-law, Rosemary and Duke Blakeslee of Gulfport; and a grandchild, Rebekah Campbell Blakeslee of Gulfport.
Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2000, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home in Bogalusa. The funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 20, 2000, at ESM Methodist Church with the Rev. Huron Warren and the Rev. Donald Williams officiating. Interment
will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Miss.
Clarence Coleman Jr.
GULFPORT - Mr. Clarence Coleman Jr., 64, died Tuesday, May 9, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Coleman was a native of Emanuel County, Ga., and attended the public schools. He was a member of Williams Grove Holiness Church. He was retired from the Air Force after 22 years of service and was a graduate of Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College Jefferson Davis Campus, where he received a degree in hotel restaurant management. He was employed in civil service with the Gulfport Naval Base.
Survivors include a son, Armon Coleman; two stepsons, Greg Jackson and Walter Jackson, all of Gulfport; his mother, Lucille Coleman; two sisters, Geraldine Durden and Alice Foots; five brothers, John Coleman, Watus Coleman, Arthur Coleman, Paul Coleman, all of Swainsboro, Ga., and Robert Coleman of Trenton, N.J.; and five grandchildren.
A service was at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Williams Grove Holiness Church with burial in Swainsboro City Cemetery. Reno Tapley Mortuary in Swainsboro was in charge of arrangements and Richmond Funeral Home in Biloxi was in charge of local arrangements.

VANCLEAVE - Harry Cozart, 64, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in George County.
Mr. Cozart was born July 2, 1935, in Adams County, Wis., and was a retired painter for Ingalls Shipbuilding. He was a former assistant scoutmaster for Troop No. 275 and cub master for Pack No. 275. He was a former member of the Gulf Park Estates Volunteer Fire Department and a former member of Christus Victor Lutheran Church in Ocean Springs.
Survivors include three sisters, Jane Gray of Vancleave, Veryl Crumpton of Madison, Wis., and Shirley Gates of Aurora, Iowa.
A service will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Jackson County Funeral Services Chapel in Escatawpa where friends may call from noon until service time. Burial will be in Red Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.

Hugh Christopher Graham
KILN - Hugh Christopher Graham, 45, of Kiln, Mississippi, died Sunday, May 14, 2000, at his home in Kiln.
Mr. Graham was a native of Brooklyn, New York and was raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, where he attended Jesuit High School. He was a mechanic with the Gulf Coast Pre-Stress Cement Company.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Grace Graham; his grandmother, Frances Smiley; sisters, Nancy Frances Graham, all of Gretna, LA, Jeanne Marie Graham of Austin, TX, Carol Catherine Calhoun and brother-in-law, Laron Calhoun; niece, Chrystie Catherine Calhoun, all of Gretna, LA.

Alberta Hopkins

BILOXI - Mrs. Alberta Hopkins, 82, died Monday, May 15, 2000, in Inglewood, Calif.
Mrs. Hopkins was born Oct. 1, 1917, in Macon and was retired from the Second Judicial Courthouse in Biloxi after many years of service. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church in Biloxi and a lifelong member of the Daughters of the Elks. She was a lifelong member of the Gulf Coast Links Social Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Hopkins Sr.; her parents, Sam and Willie Ann Stallings; and a grandson, George Watson Jr.
Survivors include six sons, Edward Washington, Eddie Hopkins Sr., Walter Hopkins Sr., Robert Hopkins Jr., Jean Paul Hopkins and Gregory Hopkins; two daughters, Judy Patricia McCloud and Carolyn Watson; 20 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

BILOXI - God gives us the sunshine to bring light and goodness to our lives. He sometimes chooses one of us to be a beam of sunlight. This beam acts as a ray of hope, guidance, protection and warmth. Carolyn was our ray of sunshine.
Carolyn was born in Biloxi, MS, on June 30, 1947, to Mr. Hilton Huggar Sr. and Mrs. Catherine Huggar. She was an active member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church. There was never a time when called on to work in the church that Carolyn was not willing to serve. She leaves as her legacy the work she has done during her lifetime.
She attended Our Mother of Sorrows Elementary School and graduated from M.F. Nichols High School in 1965. While attending Nichols, Carolyn was a majorette in the marching band. She was also a member of the basketball team. She received a B.S. degree from Tennessee State University in 1969.
She worked as a day care director for the Biloxi Senior Citizens Center, a supervisor of the Biloxi Elderly-Blind Program for senior citizens, a social service counselor for neighborhood counseling and tutoring center, and a vocational counselor for STAR, Inc. At the time of her death, she was employed with Dupont Chemical Company as a chemical laboratory technician. She also worked as a purification and oxidation assistant for Dupont in DeLisle, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Catherine and Hilton Huggar Sr., and a brother, Elbert Brewer Sr.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Larry Lloyd Kimbrough; one son, Fred E. Williams III; three sisters, Patricia Davis, Hilda Nix, Janice Moffett; two brothers, Hilton Huggar Jr. and Lt. Col. Tony Huggar; nieces, Hestra Tittsworth, Cathy Nix, Stephanie Davis, Ashely Huggar, Alex Huggar, Laura Brewer, Netta Brewer, Joy Malone and Monica Davis; nephews, Tony Davis, Sgt. Jesse Davis, Elbert Brewer Jr.; great-nieces, DeJa Wesby-Davis, Gabrielle Tittsworth, Danielle Davis; great-nephews, Dante Davis, Jason Tittsworth, and Venis Nix; stepdaughter, Edna Mitchell; and stepgrandson, Christopher Mitchell.

PICAYUNE - E. F. Loe, 85, died Thursday, May 18, 2000, in Slidell.
Mr. Loe was a native of Bienville Parish in Louisiana and was a retired forester and real estate agent. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Picayune and was retired from the Navy as a lieutenant where he served in World War II. He was a graduate of Louisiana State University.
Survivors include his wife, Yvonne Loe; a son, James R. Lowe, both of Picayune; a brother, Kavat A. Loe of Arcadia, La.; a sister, Mary Gaudet of El Paso, Texas; and a granddaughter.

CARRIERE - James Irvin Luke, 77, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Carriere.
Mr. Luke was a native of Kemper County and was the co-owner of J.I. Luke Enterprises. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Picayune and was past president of the 512th Military Police Battalion. He was a World War II veteran and was a charter member of the Collinsville Lions Club. He was a member of the Suqualena Masonic Lodge, York Rite Bodies and Hamasa Shrine Temple.
Survivors include his wife, Mary C. Luke; a son, Jim Luke, both of Carriere; a daughter, Deborah L. Poole of Easley, S.C.; a sister, Kathrine L. Clark of Ellisville; and four grandchildren.

BILOXI - Mrs. Gracie Mae Moore-Fox, 65, of 222 Magnolia St., died Monday, May 15, 2000, in Biloxi.
Mrs. Moore-Fox was born Sept. 9, 1934, in Crystal Springs and attended Salem and Warm Springs Schools in Crystal Springs. She received her G.E.D. in Biloxi and was employed several years as a cook and bus driver for Head Start. She was a member of Main Street Baptist Church in Biloxi where she was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Kitchen Committee.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Moore; her parents, Theado and Johnnie Mae Jordan; and a sister, Mary Francis Bishop.
Survivors include her husband, Eddie Fox of Biloxi; four daughters, Mary E. Mr. Reddix was born Nov. 28, 1922, in Vancleave. He was an Army veteran of World War II and was employed at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 35 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dave and Della Reddix; three sisters, Emma Dunning, Carrie Lewis, and Florence Fairley; four brothers, Willie Reddix, Calvin Reddix, Vernon Reddix, and Nathaniel Reddix.
Survivors include his wife, Iola Reddix; three sons, Leonard Jackson, Arthur Reddix and Obra Reddix Jr.; four daughters, Della Mitchell, Barbara Stovall, Alice Alaneaux and Paheobe Peyton; a sister, Venus Polk; two brothers, Hermes Reddix and Cornelius Reddix, all of Vancleave; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

GULFPORT - James W. Reed Jr., 75, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000, in Gulfport.
Mr. Reed was born in Pentwater, Mich., and was an Army veteran of World War II where he served as a combat medic. He was a 1951 graduate of the University of Mississippi in Oxford where he received a degree in pharmacy. He retired as a registered pharmacist at Hover's Drug Store and was also retired from Chemfax. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Gulfport.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James W. Reed Sr. and Lola Hales Reed; and a brother, Jon Thomas Reed.
Survivors include his wife, Frances P. Reed of Gulfport; two daughters, Marsha R. Rutledge of Long Beach and Linda R. Groulx of Gulfport; two sons, J.W. "Bill" Reed III of Gulfport and Thomas C. Mr. Watkins was born April 11, 1927, in Beloit, Wis., and was retired from the Navy after 25 years of service. He was a member of New Hope A.O.G. Church, a member of the VFW in Pascagoula, a 32nd degree Scottish Rite member of Moss Point Masonic Lodge No. 202 and the Eastern Star.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy "Dot" Watkins of Moss Point; four sons, Steve Watkins of Kentucky, David Watkins, Donald Watkins Jr., and Robert Watkins, all of Newport, R.I.; a brother, Arthur Watkins of Wheeling Ill.; three sisters, Dorothy Stamm of Rockford, Ill., Beverly Branhard of Freeport, Ill., and Carol Rimkus of Byron, Ill.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
