Funeral services for Curtis D. Biorn, 31, Delano, took place June 25 at
Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Biorn died June 22.
He is survived by his father, David (Carol); mother, Jeanne (Jim); brother,
Michael; aunts, Carol and Diane; uncle, Wes; stepbrothers, Rick and Chris;
stepsisters, Gayle and Michelle; special friend, Suzanne; nieces and
nephews; and many friends. Interment

James E. Smith
Funeral services for James E. Smith, 73, of Coon Rapids, took place Jan.
28 at Epiphany Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard A. Reiser
officiated.
Smith died Jan. 25 in Fridley. He was born March 11, 1925 in Minneapolis.
and was a painter.
He is survived by wife, Josephine; children, Donita Goodwin and husband
Scott, Denise Cowett and husband Dave, Jim, Jay and wife Robin, Debbie
Johnson and husband Dan, Mark, Gary and wife Linda, Brian and wife
Cynthia; 23 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; other relatives and
friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, J. Leonard and Alida Smith;
brothers, Duwayne and Joe; and grandson, Joshua.
Pallbearers were Rich Delaney, Todd Goodwin, Jon and Jeff Johnson, Eric
Westberg, and Mike Wayman.
Interment
was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by
Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Helen K. Schroeder
Funeral services for Helen K. Schroeder, 79, of Anoka, formerly of Forest
Lake, took place Jan. 30 at Faith Lutheran Church of Forest Lake. Rev. Don
Fultz officiated.
Schroeder died Jan. 26 at Mercy Hospital. She was born Sept. 7, 1919 in
Brocket, ND to Herman Kalliokoski and Annie Reini. She married Lewis
Schroeder and was a school teacher in Forest Lake for 20 years. Schroeder
was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, the VFW, and the American Legion.
She served in the Army during WWII.
She is survived by children, Patricia, Judith, Richard; 3 grandchildren;
brother, George; sisters, Alma and Olive.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Lewis.
Interment
was at Scandinavian Cemetery, Forest Lake. Arrangements were by
Mattson Funeral Home, Forest Lake.
Amanda A. Duckert
Funeral services for Amanda A. Duckert, 18, of Coon Rapids, took place
Jan. 30 at St. Timothyís Catholic Church. Rev. Harold J. Tasto officiated.
Duckert died Jan. 27 in Coon Rapids. She was born Nov. 18, 1980 in
Fridley. She was a student.
She is survived by parents, Gary and Pamela Duckert; brothers, Michael and
Alex; grandmother, Mandie Duckert; grandfather, Andrew Miller; aunts,
uncles and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her grandmother, Juliana Miller; and
grandfather, Ted Ducker.
Interment
was at Epiphany Cemetery. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy
Seman Chapel.
Dennis W. Ross Sr.
Funeral services for Dennis W. Ross Sr., 57, of Ham Lake, took place Jan.
30 at Epiphany Catholic Church. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Ross died Jan. 27 in Ham Lake. He was born Jan. 10, 1942 in Minneapolis.
He was a Police Sgt.
He is survived by wife, Judi; sons, Dennis Jr. and wife Theresa, David;
father, Robert Sr.; brothers, Robert Jr. and wife Ellen, Eugene; sister,
Mary and husband John Bell; many nieces, nephews, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Cecilia.
Interment

Florence J. Enyart
Funeral services for Florence J. Enyart, 77, of Blaine, took place Jan. 26
at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel. Rev. Jody Smith officiated.
Enyart died Jan. 23 in Blaine. She was born May 11, 1921 in Becker County.
She is survived by her husband, Dale; children, Gayle Chapman and husband
Doug, Cheryl Ritland and husband Jim, Garry Enyart and wife Carol, David
Enyart and wife Laurie; 13 grandchildren; sister, Idella Linder;
brother-in-law, Albert Carlson; sister-in-law, Bernice Herfindal.

Eric G. Sundquist
Funeral services for Eric G. Sundquist, 86, of Coon Rapids, took place
Feb. 3 at Advent Lutheran Church in Anoka. Rev. Jerry OíNeill officiated.
Sundquist died Jan. 31 in New Hope. He was born Sept. 22, 1912 in
Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He was a Litho pressman and a member of Advent
Lutheran Church.
He is survived by wife Alice; daughters, Gloria Kost and husband Garry,
Marilyn Kamp and husband Gary, Cindy Ramsey and husband Chad; 11
grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Johnson.
Pallbearers were Bryan Kost, Jeffrey, Anthony and Nickolas Kamp, Robert
and Ryan Johnson.
Interment
was private at Hillside Cemetery. Arrangements were by

Leonard P. Hanson
Funeral services for Leonard P. Hanson "Bud," 77, of Anoka, took place
Feb. 3 at Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel.
Hanson died Jan. 31 in Anoka. He was born Aug. 10, 1921 in Northfield.
Hanson worked as a cement mason.
He is survived by wife Lorraine; daughter, Dawn Steinke and husband Ray;
sons, Jim and wife Carol, Kenny and wife Netta; grandchildren, Ray,
LeaAnn, Brenda, Crystal, Jacob and Scott; great-grandchildren, Megan and
Barret.
He is preceded in death by his son, Lenny.

Dennis L. Kambestad
Funeral services for Dennis Lee Kambestad, 54, of Coon Rapids, took place
Feb. 3 at Anoka Funeral Chapel. Rev. Jim Donald officiated.
Kambestad died Jan. 30 in Coon Rapids. He was born Dec. 19, 1944 in
Bristol, SD to Milton and Ruby Kambestad. He married Peggy Shannon and was
a mail carrier. Kambestad was a member of the Coon Rapids American Legion.
He is survived by wife Peggy; son, Lee and wife Carrie; daughter, Paige;
grandson, Derek Lee; mother, Ruby Kambestad; sisters, Julie Ann and Joy;
brothers, Loren, Daryl, Ronnie; many nieces and nephews.
Interment
was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by
Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Monica H. Farrow
Funeral services for Monica H. Farrow, 81, of Anoka, took place Feb. 4 at
St. Stephenís Catholic Church in Anoka.
Farrow died Jan. 31 at Mercy Medical Center. She was born Sept. 7, 1917 in
Wanda to Bernard H. and Katherine (Jennings) Otte. She married Hugh Farrow
and was a retired secretary for Anoka Police Department. Farrow was a
member of St. Stephenís Catholic Church.
She is survived by children, Charles and wife Maridee Farrow of Vandnais
Heights, Jackie Farrow of California, Ronald Farrow of Hastings, William
and wife Pauline Farrow of Wisconsin; 4 grandsons; brothers, Harold and
wife Alberta Otte of Sauk Centre, Walter and wife Maxine Otte of
California; sisters, Agnes Schwieters of Glenwood, Catherine Otte of
California, Lorraine and husband Bill Geer of Tennessee, Theresa and
husband David Ward of Anoka, numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Hugh; brothers, Richard and Ben
Otte; sisters, Hilda and Rose.

Carl A. Sallberg
Funeral services for Carl A. "Al" Sallberg, 88, of Anoka, will take place
the week of Feb. 8 at Anoka United Methodist Church. Rev. Kenneth A. Rice
will officiate.
Sallberg died Jan. 31 at the Park River Estates Care Center. He was born
May 28, 1910 in Maple Grove to Carl P. and Ida (Johnson) Sallberg. He
married Eleanor I. Chapman and was a tool and die maker at Honeywell.
He is survived by wife, Eleanor; daughters, Suzanne Pederson and husband
Dr. James A. of Oklahoma City, Okal., Judy Reinking of Golden Valley;
grandsons, Eric A. Pederson of Wichita, Kan., Dr. Lee Carl Pederson of
Birmingham, Ala.; sister, Elsie Curtis of Osseo; nieces and nephews.
Interment
will be at Forest Hill Cemetery. Arrangements were by

Richard R. Thielen
Funeral services for Richard R. Thielen, 61, of Park Rapids, formerly of
Anoka, took place Jan. 30 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home in Anoka. Rev.
Walter Leitz officiated.
Thielen died Jan. 26 in the Dakota Heartland Hospial in Fargo, ND. He was
born Aug. 7, 1937 in Minneapolis to Frank B. Thielen and Phyllis M.
(Howe). He married Karla B. (Knapp) and worked in the construction
industry as a heavy equipment operator.
He is survived by wife Karla; daughters, Tamera Strand and husband Dennis,
Cindy Sabre and husband Terry, Debra Black and husband Dennis; step-sons,
Jeffrey Sorenson and wife Kate, Mark Sorenson and wife Amy, Darin
Sorenson; grandson, Tye Ostrom; step-grandchildren, Ryan, Jennifer,
Zachery, Alyssa and Kyle; brother, Franklin and wife Martha; many nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Phyllis Thielen; and
first wife, Beverly.

Ruth Helga Holien
Funeral services for Ruth Helga Holien, 81, of Andover, formerly of St.
Anthony Village, took place Feb. 3 at First Lutheran Church. Rev. Janice
Bornhoft officiated.
Holien died Jan. 30 in Andover. She was born Dec. 10, 1917 to Ole Gudim
and Marit Julseth. She married Frank Holien and was a school district
cook.
She is survived by children, Richard and wife Sandra, Donald and wife
Mary, Beverly Allen and husband Ronald; 6 grandchildren, 9
great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank.

Jack W. Rodd
Funeral services for Jack W. Rodd, 60, of Oak Grove, formerly of Cloquet,
took place Jan. 29 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Ramsey. Rev. Blair
K. Anderson officiated.
Rodd died Jan. 26 at his residence. He was born Aug. 26, 1938 in
Valparaiso, Ind. to Franklin A. Rodd and Thelma (Stanton). He married
Janice E. (Skelton) and was an administrative techinican with the
Minnesota National Guard. Rodd was a member of Lord of Life Lutheran
Church and has been with the Minnesota National Guard since 1959.
He is survived by wife, Janice; children, Jay of Salt Lake City, Utah,
Judy Herrals and husband Mark of St. Francis, James of Bethel; brothers,
George, Robert, and Frank Rodd all of Cloquet; sister, Jeanine Simpson of
Phoneix, Ariz.
Interment
was at Minnesota State Veteran Cemtery, Little Falls.

Delores E. Nystrom
Funeral services for Delores E. Nystrom, 64, of Ramsey, took place Feb. 3

Nystrom died Jan. 31 in Coon Rapids. She was born June 21, 1934 in
Minneapolis to Edward and Esther Clearence. She married Norman and was a
homemaker.
She is survived by husband, Norman; children, Russell and wife Sue, Linda
and husband Thomas Anderson, Craig and wife Sandy, Jill and husband
Patrick Finucane, Lon and wife Stacy; grandchildren, Carrie, Jan, Noelle,
Erin, Michael, Amanda, John, Mallory, Katie, Emilley; brothers, Donald,
Arnold and Gerald.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Esther and Edward Clearence; and
sister, Lorraine.
