Funeral services for Evadne H. Carter, 83, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 11 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.
Cater died Oct. 6 at Unity Hospital. She was born Aug. 9, 1916 in Big Fork to Axel F. Skallman and Helga A. Nordlin.
She is survived by her daughter, Janice Moinicken and husband Frank; son, Don and wife Kathy; grandchildren, Julie Moinicken-Schmidt and husband Michael, Jay Moinicken and wife Terri, Jackie Wallmow and husband Robert, Steve Cater and wife Anita, Scott Cater and wife Becky, Chris Cater; great-grandchildren, Caleb and Julian Schmidt, Angels and Alicia Moinicken, Ryan, Jordan, Logan and Hanna Wallmow; sisters, Vera Skallman, Dellis Markowski, Freda Jenkins, Gaye Wilson; and brothers, Traverse, Leo and Doyle Skallman.
She was preceded in death by her husband, LaVern; sisters, Alva James, Vivy Grove; and brothers, Vern and Glen Skallman.
Pallbearers were Julie Moinicken-Schmidt, Jacqueline Wallmow, Jay Moinicken, and Steve, Scott and Christopher Cater.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

James C. Dwinells
Funeral services for James C. Dwinells, 76, Anoka, took place Oct. 9 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. William J. Hyllengren officiated.
Dwinells died Oct. 6 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Dec. 14, 1922 in Minneapolis to Clarence W. and Violet V. Bayley Dwinells. He was an installer of floor coverings.
He is survived by his daughter, Royanne Carper and husband Larry of Blaine; sons, James Dwinells and wife Cindy, of Vancouver, Wash., William Dwinells and wife Sherri of Coon Rapids; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; former wife, Carol Dwinells of Blaine; and nephew, Dick Rundle and wife Carol of Anoka.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.

Lawrence G. Farrier
Funeral services for Lawrence G. “Larry” Farrier, 97, Anoka, took place Oct. 8 at Zion Lutheran Church, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.
Farrier died Oct. 5 at the Anoka Good Samaritan Center. He was born Sept. 17 in Maple Grove to Oshea and Mary Snyder Farrier. He was the parts manager at Main Motors in Anoka.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Farrier; son, Jack Farrier; brother, Jim Farrier, all of Anoka; grandchildren, Kay Rielley, Stephen, Ronald and John Farrier; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife Lil; and sister, Marion Thurston.
Pallbearers were Stephen, Ronald and John Farrier, Robert Nelson, Glen Chapman and Jeffrey Rielley.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Albert H. Geist
Funeral services for Albert H. Geist, 88, Driscoll, N.D., took place Oct. 5 at Grace Lutheran Church, Driscoll. Rev. Jim Cissell officiated.
Geist died Oct. 2 at Mandan Medcenter One Care Center. He was born Jan. 18, 1911 in Herrick, S.D., to Jake and Caroline Walters Geist.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Beverly and Floyd Aichele, of Bismarck, N.D.; sons and daughters-in-law, Richard and Virginia Geist of Driscoll and Roger and Elizabeth Geist of Cedar; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Harold of Portland, Ore., and Ervin of Gladstone, Ore.; and sister, Esther Basler of McHenry, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie; parents; three sisters, one son; one daughter; and one great-grandson.
Interment was at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, Driscoll. Arrangements were by Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck.

William R. Martin
Funeral services for William Richard Martin, 71, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 6 at Peace Lutheran Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. James B. Nelson officiated.
Martin died Oct. 2 in Monticello. He was born April 15, 1928 in Reeve, Wis., to Francis Martin and Elva Gale. He was a truck driver and a member of Coon Rapids VFW Post.
Her is survived by his wife, Carmalita “Carmy;” daughters and son-in-law, Kelly Sue Martin and Jennifer and Ben Norquist; son, Shawn; grandchildren, Jack, William and Luke Edman; sister, Ardith Strokosch; and brother and sisters-in-law, Duane Martin and wife Earline and Sybill Martin.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Leland; and sister-in-law, Becky Yurik.
Honorary pallbearer was Shawn Martin.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids. Interment was at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.

Elizabeth A. Richards
Funeral services for Elizabeth Ann Richards, 80, Anoka, took place Oct. 8 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike VanSloun officiated.
Richards died Oct. 3 at Guardian Angels Nursing Home, Elk River. She was born March 30, 1919 in Anoka to John E. and Elizabeth Conroy Ward. She was a retired bookkeeper for the family business, Ward Transfer.
She is survived by her brothers, Forrest (Cathy) Ward of Brooklyn Park, Jim (Joanne) Ward and David (Theresa) Ward, all of Anoka; sisters, Jane (Archie) Nordeen of Isle, Helen (John) Wigdahl of Colorado, Hannah (Al) Loehlein of Anoka; Joan (Mike) Godfrey of Faribault; Evelyn (Bill) Graski of Colorado; sisters-in-law, Mary and Betty Ward, both of Anoka; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husbands, Alvin Glick and Frank Richards; brothers, Adrian and William Ward; and sister, Marty Gerlinger.
Interment was at Forest Hill Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Carol Ann Rzaszutak
Funeral services for Carol Ann Rzaszutak, 49, Minneapolis, took place Oct. 8 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel. Rev. Michael Kennedy officiated.
Rzaszutak died Oct. 5 in Minneapolis. She as born Feb. 11, 1950 to Frank and Margaret Rzaszutak and was a house cleaner.
She is survived by her son, Xavier Rzaszutak; special friend, Harvey Hammick; sisters and brother-in-law, Geraldine Smith and Elaine and Tom Gallagher; grandson, Alexander; brother, John and wife Lynda; nieces and nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Frank; mother, Margaret; sisters, June and Margie; and nephew, Todd Gallagher.
Pallbearers were John, Wallace, Tim and Sam Hammick, Michael Gallagher, and John Rzaszutak, Jr.
Interment was St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

Arthur D. Stevens
Funeral services for Arthur D. Stevens, 51, Columbia Heights, took place Oct. 2 at Lord of Life Church. Rev. Blair Anderson officiated.
Stevens died Sept. 29 in Fridley. He was born Feb. 20, 1948 in Duluth to Harvey Stevens and Kathleen Kucker. He was a laborer in a factory.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lottie and Mike Conradi.
Interment was private. Arrangements were by the Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.

Valerie J. Williams
Funeral services for Valerie J. Williams, 15, Andover, will take place today (Friday, Oct. 15), 2 p.m., at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser will officiate.
Williams died Oct. 9 in Minneapolis. She was born May 29, 1984 in Coon Rapids, and was a student.
She is survived by her parents, Jim and Julie; grandparents, Connie Carlsness, Jim Williams (Linda) and Jean Williams; uncles and aunts, George (Joanne) Carlsness, Dorothy (Scott) Bensen, John (Maureen Williams); and six cousins.
Interment will be in Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements are by the Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Lowell Woolery
Funeral services for Lowell Woolery, 84, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 9 at Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel. Rev. Roger Anderson officiated.
Woolery died Oct. 7 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Nov, 6, 1914 in Blue Earth to Horace and Lyra Woolery. He and his wife Beatrice lived on a farm near Constance from 1950 to 1989 when they moved to Coon Rapids.
He is survived by his son, Bruce and wife Norma Woolery; daughters, Jan and husband Roy Engstrom, Geri Grosslein, Sharon and husband Gus Hammons, Peg and husband Tom Ocel; sister, Beth Koski; 21 grandchildren; 20 greatgrandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Beatrice; two brothers;. two sisters; one son-in-law; and one grandson.
Interment was in the Strike Cemetery, Bradford Township. Arrangements were by Strike Funeral Home-Isanti Chapel.

Carolyn J. Acree
Funeral services for Carolyn J. Acree, 57, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 19 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Acree died Oct. 15 in Robbinsdale. She was born Feb. 28, 1942 in Memphis, Tenn., to Harvey Lee Calloway and Lucille Eilert.
She is survived by her husband, Curtis; children, Dana Griffin and husband Joel; David Johnson and wife Annette; Scott Johnson and wife Theresa; Guy Wayne Acree and wife Jane; Thomas Acree and wife Dawn; grandchildren, Nicki, Joey, Joshua, Chelsea, Zachary, Timothy and Wayne; sister, Barbara Ann Hart; and sisters-in-law; Marie Combs and Linda Griffin and husband Robert.
Pallbearers were Scott Acree, Dave and Joshua Johnson, Mike Moore, Alex Gray and Joel Griffin, Sr. Honorary pallbearers were Ron Park and Tom Acree.
Interment was at Morningside Memorial gardens. Arrangements were by Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.

Mildred G. Adams
Funeral services for Mildred G. Adams, 72, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 18 at Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel. Rev. David Johnston officiated.
Adams died Oct. 13 in New Brighton. She was born March 3, 1927 in Trinity, Ala., to Edward P. Messick and Ester Waugh.
She is survived by her husband, William; daughters, Jane, Sandra, Judith, Nancy, Penny and Michelle; sons, Patrick, Robert and Michael; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.

John H. Bergherr
Funeral services for John H. “Jack” Bergherr, 65, Dayton, took place Oct. 20 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike Paquet officiated.
Bergherr died Oct. 17 at his home. He was born Dec. 15, 1933 in Morris to Roy and Viola Lesmeister Bergherr. He was a truck driver and mechanic for Allstate Leasing in Blaine.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; children, Catherine Sorenson and husband Brian, Carol Squier and husband Tim, Donna Magnuson and husband Fred, Thomas and wife Rebecca, Denise Jockisch and husband Rick, Peter and fiancee Lisa; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; brothers, James and wife Gloria, Joseph and wife Lynnae; sister, Judith Spindler and husband James; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Viola; daughter-in-law, Joan; and sister in law, Janet.
Pallbearers were James, Joseph, Michele, and Scott Bergherr, Thomas Ball, and George Leisure.
Interment was at Calvary Cemetery, Anoka. Arrangements were by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

Carl J. Borgmann
Funeral services for Carl J. Borgmann, 58, Anoka, took place Oct. 16 at Gearhart Anoka Funeral Chapel.
Borgmann died Oct. 13 in Anoka. He was born Nov. 3, 1940 in Sauk Center to Ernest and Gertrude Borgmann. He was a machine operator.
He is survived by his sons, Matthew Borgmann, and Mark Sauer and wife Sara; mother, Gertrude of Sauk Center; sisters, Liz Schmitz and Linda Roman; brother, Ronald. and goddaughters, Krissi and Karla.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol.
Pallbearers were Harold and Bob Borgmann, Tom Zwack, Paul Roman, Kjell Larson, Mark Ellefson, Jess Bistodeau and Dave Anderson.

Constance Dickenson
Funeral services for Constance E. Dickenson (Streich), 58, Fridley, took place Oct. 18 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard A. Reiser officiated.
Dickenson died Oct. 12 in Coon Rapids. She was born Dec. 4, 1940 in Huron, S.D.
She is survived by her sons, Jeffrey S. Streich, Jon R. Streich and wife Jane, Jerry L. Streich and wife Lori, Joe D. Streich; grandchildren, Alan, Alicia, Haylie, Melanie and Natalie; brother and sisters, Larry, Douglas, Lila, Marjorie, Betty, Phyllis and Judy; and John Dickenson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Viola Teuber; and brother, Glen.
Pallbearers were Jeffrey, Jon, Jerry and Joe Streich.
Interment was at Epiphany Cemetery, Coon Rapids. Arrangements were by Washburn-McReavy Seman Chapel, Coon Rapids.

Marion N. Duclos
Memorial Mass for Marion N. Duclos, 71, Pine City, formerly of Anoka, will take place Oct. 29, 11 a.m., at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Mike Paquet will officiate.
Duclos died Oct. 3 at Green Acres Country Manor, North Branch. She was born April 6, 1928 in Minneapolis to Albert O. and Neomi Keller Larson. She was a retired bookkeeper for Grosslein Beverage Co., Anoka.
She is survived by her husband, Robert; son, L.C. Wood of Georgia; daughters, Pamela (James) Edge of Florida, Susan K. Parrish of California; grandson, Christopher Hagemo; granddaughter, Jennifer Hagemo; and nieces, Rev. Linda (Charles) Pineo of Georgia and Mary (Tobias) Philbin of Maryland.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Joan L. Baker.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.

James M. Gallagher
Funeral services for James M. Gallagher, 69, Cedar, took place Oct. 19 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church of Cedar Creek, Oak Grove. Rev. Michael J. Kennedy officiated.
Gallagher died Oct. 16 at Mercy Hospital. He was born Oct. 7, 1930 in Cedar to Leigh J. and Mary E Murray Gallagher.
He is survived by his wife, Gladys; son, Joseph (Elizabeth) of Maryland; daughters, Rebecca (Ron) Peterson of Lindstrom, Julie (Bill) Finke of Buffalo; grandchildren, Anna and Joshua Winkel, Adam, Nicholas and Jerome Gallagher, Eric and Stephanie Peterson, Samantha and Ryan Finke; brother, Patrick; sisters, Mary, Catherine, Ann and Dorothy; and other relatives and friends.

Carmen Ida Hills
Funeral services for Carmen Ida Hills, 73, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 14 at Epiphany Catholic Church, Coon Rapids. Rev. Bernard Reiser officiated.
Hills died Oct. 11 in Coon Rapids. She was born Jan. 28, 1926 in Vienna, Austria, to Josephine and Carl Muellner.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; sons, Rick, Deanie, Donald, Daniel, Douglas and Cory; daughters, Kristina, Geri, Debra and Jessica; grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
Pallbearers were Rick, Dean, Don, Dan and Doug Hills and Cory Anderson.
Interment was at Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Arrangements were by Gearhart Coon Rapids Funeral Chapel.

Lawrence L. Hovind
Funeral services for Lawrence L. Hovind, 89, Coon Rapids, took place Oct. 14 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Hovind died Oct,. 11 at Trevilla of New Brighton. He was born March 19, 1910 in Burns Township to Ole Hovind and Ida Anderson. He was a retired supervisor with Anoka public works.
He is survived by his wife Grace; sons, Les and wife Catalina of Coopersburg, Pa., Rick and Marge of Springfield, S.D., Doug and wife Linda of Coon Rapids; daughters, LaVonne Dale and husband George of Flippin, Ark.; Barb Thompson and husband Red of Alexandria; 29 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; brother, Lowell and wife Marie of Dayton; and sister Ethel Bobendrier of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters.
Interment was at Vernon Cemetery, Elk River. Arrangements were by the Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home.
