Funeral services for Katherine Laptuta, 101, of Andover, took place Oct. 14 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. Bill Deziel officiated.
Laptuta died Oct. 11 in Anoka. She was born Dec. 15, 1986 in Poland.
She is survived by her son, Walter Laptuta and wife Rosemary; grandchildren, William and wife Valerie Laptuta, Katherine Heller and husband Jacob, Mary Vevea and husband Michael, Linda Atkinson and husband Gary; great-grandchildren, Jason, Justin, Nathan, Nadene, Liatra, Chelcie, Kendall, Lukis, Kyle; and other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Luptuta.
Pallbearers were Jason, Justin, and Nathan Heller, Lukis Atkinson, and Kyle Vevea.

Catherine H. Colburn
Graveside services for Catherine Hilliard Colburn, 98, of Rancho Bervardo, Calif., formerly of Anoka, took place Oct. 23 at Forest Hill Cemetery. Rev. Deanna Murray officiated.
Colburn died Oct. 12 in Rancho Bervardo, Calif. She was born Apri. 5, 1900 in Anoka.
She is survived by her nephew, Thomas Hilliard; and granddaughters, Connie Love, Julie Earls and Laura Love.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Hilliard; sister, Florence; brother, John Clyde Hilliard; and husband, Graydon Colburn.

Dolores G. Riggs
Funeral services for Dolores G. Riggs, 77, of Champlin, took place Oct. 13 at Meadow Creek Church in Andover. Rev. James Thomason officiated.
Riggs died Oct. 9 at her residence. She was born June 12, 1921 in Elk River to Albert Kliewer and Christine Boehlke.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlene Tipton and husband Ray of Phoenix, Ariz., Patricia Meola and husband Dennis of Gardner, Kan., Sandra Falck and husband Dean of Brooklyn Park, Pamela Fick and husband Mike of Onamia; grandchildren, Wendy and Jim Shingleton, Matt and Jennifer Falck, Daniel and Marie Meola, Brian Meola, C.J. Fick; great-grandchildren, Jamie and Jessica Shingleton, Kayla and Jaimie Meola; and brothers, Harvey, Marvin, Milo, Gordon and Alvin Klie.

Catherine Jacobson
Funeral services for Catherine G. Jacobson, 83, of Anoka, will take place Sunday, Oct. 18, 4 p.m., at First Congregational Church in Anoka. Rev. Denna Murray will officiate.
Jacobson died Oct. 8 at the Midwest Hospice Home in Minneapolis. She was born Dec. 9, 1914 in Ironwood, Mich., to Oscar E. and Mabel G. McDougal Olson. She was a school teacher.
She is survived by her daughter, Christine Nelson and husband Allen of Minneapolis; sisters, Joy Ross and husband Marvin of Slater, Iowa, Barbara Conrad of Waukesha, Wis.; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Jacobson.

will be at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, Mich. Arrangements are by Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Clyde R. Smith
Funeral services for Clyde R. Smith, 68, of Burns Township, took place Oct. 8 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Liane S. Rock officiated.
Smith died Oct. 5 at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center in Minneapolis. He was born Nov. 16, 1929 in Anoka to George M. and Essie B. Smith. He worked at the Anoka Post Office. Smith was an Army veteran and served during the Korean War.
He is survived by his brothers, Robert O. Smith and wife Evelyn, Ernest Smith; sisters, Lila B. Gale, Alice C. Packer, Dora M. Alarcon, Mildred V. Stenquist and husband Arthur, Essie M. Peterson and husband Kenneth, Elsie M. Atkins; and many nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Essie Smith; and brothers, William and Glenn Smith.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Smith, Larry Stenquist, and Mick Stenquist. Pallbearers were David Breault, Elmer Dargis, Francis Gale, Grant Schmitt, Dennis Stenquist, and Othmer Stroeling.

Timothy R. Meyer
Funeral services for Timothy R. Meyer, 22, of Blaine, took place Oct. 6 at Coon Rapids Evangelical Free Church. Rev. David Oldham officiated.
Meyer died Oct. 3 in Santa Cruz, Calif. He was born April 14, 1976 in Coon Rapids to Michael F. and Nita A. Neuenfeldt Meyer.
He is survived by his parents, Michael and Nita; brothers, Kevin and Michael Meyer; sister, Melissa Meyer, all of Blaine; grandparents, Robert and Theresa Meyer of Ashley, N.D., Harvey and Bernita Neuenfeldt of Baxter; nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins; other relatives; and many friends.

Funeral services for Thomas W. “Wayne” Hodge, 65, of Ramsey, took place Oct. 14 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka.
Hodge died Oct. 11 at his residence. He was born Dec. 16, 1932 in Mount Airy, N.C., to John and Maude Hodge. He was a self-employed carpenter.
He is survived by his wife, Walda; sons, Robert and wife Kathy, Gregory and Howard; daughters, Sharon Hodge, Janice Krupicka and husband Joel; grandchildren, Sidra, Alayna, Allison, Kristina, Sara and Davis; brothers, Jimmy and Cecil Hodge; and sister, Madalin Young.

Eleanor J. Davis
Funeral services for Eleanor J. Davis, 84, of Fridley, formerly of Champlin, took place Oct. 15 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Chapel, Anoka. Rev. Gene H. Heglund officiated.
Davis died Oct. 11 at the Crest View Lutheran Home in Columbia Heights. She was born Sept. 19, 1914 in Minneapolis to Albert and Anna Reinke Blesi. She was retired from Honeywell.
She is survived by her son, Robert Christianson; grandchildren, Jon, Chris, Rosalyn Christianson; many great-grandchildren; and eight brothers and sisters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Davis; daughter, Bonnie Christianson; and son, Gordon Christianson; and grandson, Peter Christianson.

Russell M. Sigmon
Funeral services for Russell Monroe Sigmon, Jr., 67, of Sumter, S.C., took place Oct. 16 at the Chapel of Elmore-Hill-McCreight Funeral Home, Sumter. Rev. Freddie Gaymon officiated.
Sigmon died Oct. 13 at the Dorn VA Medical Center in Columbia, S.C. He was born in Sumter to Russell Monroe Sigmon Sr. and Bessie Lee Bumgarner Sigmon.
He is survived by his wife, Annette; daughter, Rhonda Sigmon-Sims of Sumter; brother, Kenneth Sigmon of Sumter; and sister, Barbara Cook of Blaine.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell Sr. and Bessie Sigmon; and sister, Drucilla Sigmon Jayrce.

Eunice L. Brunkow
Funeral services for Eunice Louise (Beecher) Brunkow, 85, Cambridge, formerly of St. Francis, took place Oct. 16 at Carlson-Labatte Funeral Home, Cambridge. Revs. Russ Dunlop and Jim Donahue officiated.
Brunkow died Oct. 14. She was born April 9, 1913 in Scotland, S.D., to Ernest and Millie Cotton Beecher. She taught school at Bethel, Dyer’s Corner, Burns Township and Anoka-Isanti School District, St. Francis.
She is survived by her daughter, Verda and husband Ralph Kipfer of Franklin, Ark.; grandson, Thomas and wife Sandy Heed and baby son, Daniel of Sarasota, Fla.; sisters, Ruth Spangler of Selby, S.D., Helen Smith of Alamo, Texas; sister-in-law, Velma Peterson of Stillwater; guardian, Norm Peterson of Roseville; and other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Millie Beecher; husband, Floyd Brunkow; grandson, Brian J. Kipfer; and sisters, Julia Hardt and Stella Perrion.

Minnie Schmidt
Funeral services for Minnie “Ruby” Schmidt, 90, of Warren, took place Saturday at the First Lutheran Church in Stephen. Rev. Michael Schendel officiated.
Schmidt died Oct. 13 at the Good Samaritan Center. She was born Jan. 17, 1908 in Stephen to Rueben and Amelia Kroll.
She is survived by her sons and daughters, Robert and wife Gwen of Stephen, William of Minneapolis, Helen and husband Omer Deschene of Stephen, Erma and husband John Mattila of Babbitt, Norma and husband Orville Koland of Karlstad; daughter-in-law, Ruth Schmidt of Coon Rapids; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Mabel and husband Gust Smidt of Argyle, Pearl Kroll of Portland, Ore.; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rueben and Amelia Kroll; husband, Hans; son, Harvey; daughters, Cora and Joyce; grandson, Jay Mattila; brothers, Rudolph, Albert, Walter, and Fred; and sisters, Emeline, Irene, Rosemond, Ethel and Lila.

Gertrude A. Coleman
Funeral services for Gertrude A. Coleman, 108, of New Hope, formerly of St. Paul, took place Oct. 21 at St. Stephen’s Catholic Church, Anoka. Rev. John C. Ward officiated.
Coleman died Oct. 18 at the St. Therese Home. She was born May 27, 1890 in Anoka to John and Julia Tierney Coleman. In 1917 she began a 37-year teaching career in the Minneapolis public schools. Coleman was one of 12 women who founded the Delta Kappa Gamma Society, an honorary society for women educators, in 1936.
She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Edward E. Coleman, Msgr. John C. Ward, Charles and wife Bernice Ward, Julia and husband Henry Hudek, Kathleen and husband Robert L. Mitchell, William and wife Marlene Ward; and Kay Byrne.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Julia Tierney Coleman; brothers and sisters, Edward, Mary, John P., Catherine (Mrs. W. L. Ward), Charles, Irene and Arthur; and nephew, Edward Ward.

Ernest A. Forslin
Funeral services for Ernest A. Forslin, 76, of Ham Lake, took place Oct. 19 at Thurston-Lindberg Funeral Home, Anoka. Rev. Tom Moen officiated.
Forslin died Oct. 15 at his residence. He was born Dec. 2, 1921 in Isanti to Herman Forslin and Hildur Eastlund. He was a retired steel worker at Paper, Calmenson and Co. after 30 years. A World War II Army veteran, Forslin was a member of Kraus-Hartig VFW in Spring Lake Park.
He is survived by his wife, Alma; son, Scot; daughter, Tracy Hanks and husband Wayne; granddaughters, Kayla, Brittany, Mandee and Dylan Hanks; sisters, Mildred Presley and husband Bob, Marilyn Stark; and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Pallbearers were Sheldon, Arthur, Hardy, and Daryl Onasch, and Robyn and Randall Lane.

Ethel Mae Olmstead

Olmstead died Oct. 17 at her daughter’s home in Coon Rapids. She was born March 28, 1924 in Indianapolis, Ind., to Scott E. Benefield and Blanche E. Stribling. She was a bookkeeper at Hardware Hank in Anoka.
She is survived by her son, Gary Olmstead and wife Bonnie; daughters, Sandy Harrington, Deborah Olmstead; grandchildren, Karen DesBles and husband Scott, James and Joel Harrington, Robert and Amber Olmstead; great-granddaughter, Emma DesBles; brother, Bill Benefield and wife Sally; sisters, Leah Jones, Lois Dahlheimer and husband Gordy, Millie Meyer and husband Bill; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill; and grandson, Steve.

Frank Vineyard

Vineyard died Oct. 16 at his residence in Coon Rapids. He was born Nov. 20, 1921 in Loudon, Tenn., to Charley “Joe” and Maggie Thompson Vineyard. He was a retired welder for Minnegasco and a veteran of World War II, serving in the Army.

Johnson died Oct. 18 in Minneapolis. He was born Dec. 1, 1917 in Minneapolis to Joseph Johnson and Amelia Engelbretson.

Thunstrom died Oct. 18 in Anoka County. He was born Nov. 26, 1978 in Coon Rapids. He was a painter.
He is survived by his mother, Marilyn and fiance Miles Malone; sister, Jessica and husband Bjorn Nelson; grandmother, Florence Thunstrom; aunt, LuAnne and husband David Everett; uncles, Thomas and Gerald Thunstrom; special friend, Corrinne Kriegel; and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by brother, Marc Malone; and grandfather, Willis Thunstrom.

Marjorie H. Swap

Swap died Nov. 1 in Elk River. She was born Oct. 6, 1921 in Minneapolis. Swap was a homemaker and member of St. Johns Lutheran Church.
She is survived by husband, Everette; sons, Larry and wife Dorothy Swap, Chuck Swap, Ken and wife Wendy Swap, Steve and wife Kathy Swap. Scott and wife Sherry Swap; daughter, Julie and husband Les Roder; 11 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia Williams; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She is preceded in death by her sisters, Lorraine McCarthy and Georgette Gibson; and great-grandson, Dakota Swap.
