MENOMONIE, WIS. - Elmer C. Werner, 79, of Menomonie, Wis., died Thursday at Luther Hospital in Eau Claire, Wis.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Olson Funeral Home in Menomonie. Burial will be in Christ Lutheran/Halvorson Cemetery in the spring.
He is survived by daughter Barbara (and Paul) Borene of Willmar, one son, two grandchildren, three brothers, three sisters, other relatives and friends.
Trista Ostendorf
Oct. 18, 1972 - Nov. 21, 1997
GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. - Trista Lynne Bever Ostendorf, 25, of Grand Junction, Colo., died Nov. 21 at University Hospital in Denver after a long illness.
Memorial services were held Nov. 28 at St. Matthew's Episcopal Church.
She was born Oct. 18, 1972, in Oakley, Kan., to Bill and Rhonda Bever. On March 26, 1994m she married Steve Ostendorf in Willmar. They moved to Grand Junction in October 1996.
She is survived by her husband; son Jeremiah of Grand Junction; parents of Grand Junction; brother Matthew Bever of Grand Junction; grandparents; mother-in-law Karen Ostendorf of Denver, Colo.; father-in-law Dale and Rhonda Ostendorf of Willmar; other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents.
Olive Fronsdahl

GRANITE FALLS - Olive Fronsdahl, 68, of Granite Falls, died Sunday at Granite Manor in Granite Falls.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Christ Lutheran Church in Cottonwood with the Rev. Steve Leuzinger officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are with Lynner Funeral Home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1929, to Olaf and Olava (Barstad) Fronsdahl. At age two she developed a serious illness which left her severely handicapped and blind. She lived with her parents until 1972, when she and her mother moved to the Minneota Manor. She moved to Granite Manor in 1974 and while there earned her G.E.D.
She is survived by one first cousin as well as distant cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pat Kjolsing
WILLMAR - Pat Kjolsing, 74, of Willmar, died at his home.
Funeral services are tentatively Saturday.

Helen Fischer
COSMOS - Helen Fischer, 81, of Cosmos died Monday at the Hutchinson Community Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. John's Lutheran Church in Cedar Mills. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Hughes Funeral Home in Cosmos and continues for one hour before services Thursday.
Fred Hanson

BENSON - Fred Joseph Hanson, 86, of Benson died Sunday night at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church in Benson, with the Rev. Roger Olness officiating. Burial will be in the city cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Jacobson-Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson and for one hour before services at the church Wednesday.
He was born July 10, 1911, in Six Mile Grove Township, Swift County, to John Rasmus and Carrie (Kvam) Hanson. He grew up in the Benson area, where he attended school. On Nov. 8, 1941, he married Margaret Wilson in Benson. Margaret died June 12, 1972. On Oct. 25, 1980, he married Lucille Ranney. He worked at Onan's in Minneapolis and owned a gas station with cabins in Benson in the 1930s and 1940s. He worked for Curtiss Candy Company for about 10 years as state supervisor in the 1940s and 1950s. He was the general agent for Franklin Life Insurance for 37 years in the Benson area. He was a member of the Benson Kiwanis Club, Sons of Norway, former president of Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church and served on the elevator board.
He is survived by his wife, Lucille of Benson; sons Sanfred "Fred" (and Skip) Hanson of New London, and John (and Julie) Hanson of Bloomington; stepson Mick (and Mary Anne) Abner of Benson; stepdaughters Mary Lou (and Roy) Terwilliger of Edina, Donna (and Phil) Chalmers of Alexandria, and Sandra (and Dean) Bergersen of Arlington; four grandchildren; 13 step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sister Mabel Gunderson of Benson; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, five brothers and seven sisters.
Raymond Carlson
ALBERTVILLE - Raymond W. Carlson, 77, of Albertville, a former Kerkhoven/Pennock area resident, died Monday at his home.

Leona Ewer

PHOENIX, Ariz. - Leona A. Ewer, 54, of Phoenix, Ariz., and formerly of Olivia, died Nov. 27 in Arizona.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 13, at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia, followed by burial in St. Mary's Cemetery in Bird Island.
There will be visitation Saturday for one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 18, 1943, in Henryville Township, Renville County, to Matt and Mary (Rejsek) Serbus. She attended District 12 Country School until the school closed in 1954, when she transferred to Olivia Public School from which she graduated in 1961. She graduated from Minneapolis Business College and worked at Jay Murray & Associates in Minneapolis as a private secretary. She married Vernon Ewer of Bird Island on Oct. 31, 1964. They moved to Phoenix in 1966. She was active in the Special Olympics, Governor's Council on Developmental Disabilities of Arizona, Girl Scouts and the Schools for the Deaf in Phoenix and Tucson, Ariz. She worked at Washington Elementary School as a clerk for the lunch program until the time of her death. Funeral services were held Dec. 3 at St. Jerome's Catholic Church in Phoenix.
She survived by her husband; son Mark; daughter Bridget (and Kevin) Patterson of Phoenix; mother of Olivia; sisters Sylvia (and Bud) Welsh of Bird Island, Margaret (and Tony) Kosak, and Mary (and Jerry) Schroepfer of Olivia; brothers Wally (and Karen) Serbus of Danube, Larry (and Sue) Serbus of Olivia, Steve (and Cheryl) Serbus of New Ulm; many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her father and infant son John.
Archie Erickson

LITCHFIELD - Archie Erickson, 95, of Litchfield died Friday at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be today at 11 a.m. at Ostmark Lutheran Church in Forest City Township, with the Rev. Mel Rau officiating. Burial will be in Ostmark Cemetery.
There will be visitation for one hour before services at the church today.
He was born Feb. 5, 1902, in Milo Township, Mille Lacs County, to Axel and Anna (Dahlgren) Erickson. When he was a child, his family moved to the Forest City area. He went to country school at District 84 through the eighth grade. On Feb. 23, 1927, he married Eleanor Benson and they lived and farmed in Forest City Township until 1979, when they moved to Litchfield. Eleanor died Oct. 22, 1985, and in 1986 Archie moved to the Gloria Dei Nursing Home in Litchfield. In 1997, he moved to the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield. He was a member of the Forest City Town Board, Ostmark Church Council, was a clerk at District 84, board member at Consumers Co-op Association and Ostmark Lutheran Church.
He is survived by daughters Eleanor (and Donald) Klingman of Minneapolis, Elois (and Ronald) Johnson of Watkins, Geraldine (and Donald) Moen of Litchfield, Linda (and Sid) Jenson of Minneapolis; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; sister Elvera Peterson of Cold Spring; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, great-granddaughter, two brothers, six sisters.
George Inar Johnson

LITCHFIELD - George Inar Johnson, 84, of Litchfield died Thursday at the Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Litchfield with the Rev. Daniel Beundorf officiating. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield is in charge of arrangements.
He was born June 27, 1913, in Cosmos to John P. and Carrie Johnson. He attended Rural School District 83 southeast of Cosmos and worked on the family farm from 1929 to 1941.
He entered the United States Army on June 12, 1949, and received the following wartime medals: American Defense Service, American Theater Service, Asiatic Pacific Theater Service, European African Middle Eastern Service, Philippine Liberation Service and two Overseas Service Bars. He received an honorable discharge on Jan. 7, 1946.
He was married to Ruth Jenkins. She died on April 26, 1978.
He worked for the Laclede Gas Company in Missouri for many years. He eventually returned to Meeker County, living with his brothers and sister on South Austin. He then moved to 210 Park Village, then Bethany Home, then Emmanuel Home.
He was active in the Willmar Disabled Veterans Organization.
He is survived by his daughter Debra Ann Hepp and two grandchildren, all of Pinchneyville, Ill.; his sister Freda Johnson of Litchfield and his brother Alvie Johnson of Litchfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, three sisters and three brothers.
Mary Jennings

GRANITE FALLS - Mary Jennings, 72, of Granite Falls died Thursday at the Granite Falls Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Ganite Falls with the Rev. Bill Sprigler officiating. Burial will be in the Appleton City Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Wing-Bain Funeral Home in Granite Falls and one hour prior to services at the church. Wake services will be at about 9 p.m. today at the church, following the regularly scheduled mass.
She was born Dec. 25, 1924, in Benson to Max and Margaret (Conaty) Trager. She graduated from Benson High School before attending Normal School in Ortonville.
On June 28, 1947, she was married to Gordon Jennings in Benson. The resided in the Appleton area for many years, eventually moving to Granite Falls. She was a school teacher.
She was a member and past secretary of St. Andrew Catholic Church CCW. She as also a former member and secretary for the Square Dance Club and the Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her husband of Granite Falls; her son Mark (and Dorothy) of Minneapolis; two granddaughters; and her sister Stacey (and John) Elfelt of Anoka.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pearl Deadrick

BELGRADE - Pearl Deadrick, 79, of Belgrade, died Friday at the Belgrade Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Francis DeSales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be at the St. Louis Catholic Cemetery in Paynesville.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade, with a 6 p.m. rosary and 6:3o p.m. parish prayer service.
She was born April 9, 1918, in Glendive, Mon. to Emil and Martha (Gola) Larson. She grew up in Paynesville, graduating from Paynesville High School and attended St. Cloud State Teachers College. On Oct. 12, 1937, she married Carroll "Bud" Deadrick in Paynesville. They lived their entire married life in the rural Belgrade area. In 1979, after the death of her husband, she moved into Belgrade where she was living at the time of her death. She worked for 11 years as a Family Service co-ordinator for Stearns County. She was the past-Treasurer of the Christian Mothers Association. She belonged to the Rosebud Flower Club and the Burbank East Home Extension Group.
She is survived by her sons Glen (and Jean) Deadrick of Paynesville and Robert (and Ellie) Deadrick of Esko; daughter Marlene (and Charles) Singsank of Belgrade; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother John W. (and Lil) Larson of Brooklyn Park; sister Marlyn (and Harold) Seeland of Saginaw.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1979, one daughter and three sisters.
Hazel L. Hood

PAYNESVILLE - Hazel L. Hood, 89, of Paynesville, died Sunday at the Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Grace United Methodist Church in Paynesville, with the Rev. Ric Koehn officiating. Burial will be in the Payneville Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Sept. 18, 1908, in Rolfe, Iowa to John and Blanche (Chipman) Deadrick. They moved to a farm east of Paynesville in 1913. She graduated from Paynesville High School in 1925. In 1928, she married Jeremie Hood in Lincoln, Neb. They moved to Raleigh, N.C. in 1969 after retirement where she worked as a Sales Manager for Swiss Colony. Jeremie died in 1975. She then moved back to Paynesville in October of 1977. She worked as a Senior Companion under Social Services from November 1977 to January 1994. She was member of the Council on Aging in Stearns County from 1981 to 1988, the Senior Federation, Paynesville Senior Citizens Club and served on the Board of Directors for the Senior Center where she was one of the original five members of the committee.
She is survived by her children Lola (and Earl) Hall of St.Michael, Jim (and Joyce) Hood of Dover, Tenn and Jack (and Susan) Hood of Mendota Heights; daughter-in-law Joan Hood; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Ron in 1985, one sister and two brothers.
Memorials are preferred to the Paynesville Area Senior Center.
Rolland E. Harth

GLENWOOD - Rolland E. Harth, 83, of Glenwood, died Saturday night at the Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Glenwood Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Andrew Hermodson-Olsen officiating. Burial will be in the Sauk Valley Cemetery in Osakis.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Hoplin Funeral Chapel in Glenwood, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m., and from one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Waite Park to Frank and Edith (Opitz) Harth. On June 18, 1939, he married Cathryn Nelson. They farmed in the Osakis area until he became a police officer in Sauk Centre. He also was employed as a bus driver for the Rapid Transit Company in St. Paul. He was an Engineer on the Soo Line Railroad for many years until his retirement in 1978.
She is survived by his wife; sons Gary (and Kathleen) Harth of Brooklyn Center and Donovan (and Kay) Harth of Glenwood; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister Norma Maus of Osakis; two sisters-in-law.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two infant sons.
Margaret Taylor

NEW LONDON - Margaret Elsbeth Taylor, 78, of Litchfield, formerly of Belgrade, died Thursday at the Meeker County Hospital in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Gausdal Lutheran Church in rural New London with the Rev. Victor Young officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born May 15, 1919, in Atwater to George and Clara (Hienz) Herr. She grew up on the family farm near Atwater, where she attended school.
On March 27, 1939, she was married to Joy Taylor in Milbank, S.D. Following their marriage, they lived in Wood, S.D., and Hawick prior to moving to the Belgrade area in 1958.
He died in February of 1991 and for the past few years she has lived in Litchfield. She was a member of Gausdal Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her sons Joy (and Sue) of Milwaukee, Myron (and special friend Louie) of Minneapolis and Clarion (and Bonnie) of Maple Lake; daughters Clara (and Bill) Essig of West Fargo, N.D., Marlene (and special friend Bill) Taylor of Grove City and Melva (and Dennis) Burnette of Litchfield; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and four sisters.
