LITCHFIELD _ Martha Louise Anders, 78, of Litchfield, died Sunday at Emmanuel Nursing Home in Litchfield.
Memorial services will be in the spring at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield, with burial in Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in Atwater.
She was born to Rudolph and Inez (Carlson) Anders, and grew up in rural Litchfield.
She is survived by her sister Betty (and Garvin) Slinden of Scottsdale, Ariz.; one nephew; one aunt; and several cousins.
Larry Smid
NEW LONDON _ Larry Smid, of rural New London, died Monday at V.A. Medical Center in Minneapolis.

GLENWOOD _ Lawrence Rust, 85, of Glenwood, died Sunday at Lakeview Good Samaritan Center in Glenwood.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hoplin Funeral Chapel in Glenwood, with burial in Glenwood Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 9 p.m. today, with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m.
He was born Oct. 11, 1911, in Walker to Gilbert and Louise (Talaasen) Rust. He worked in the Civil Conservation Corps in northern Minnesota at many state parks. In 1945, he moved to Glenwood, where he started his own gravel business as a contractor for the state of Minnesota. In February of 1946, he married Mona Lundgren. He operated trucks for Bruce Motor Freight in Roseville for more than 20 years, retiring in 1962. He had lived at Lakeview Good Samaritan Center since 1993.
He is survived by his son Lawrence Rust of Plymouth, and sister-in-law Muriel Milstein of Starbuck.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife in 1984, one brother, three sisters and one half-brother.
Inga Eliason

APPLETON _ Inga Oline Eliason, 93, of Appleton, died Sunday at Appleton Municipal Nursing Home.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Zion Lutheran Church in Appleton, with the Rev. Alan Schmidt officiating. Spring burial will be in Good Shepherd Lutheran Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Vaala Funeral Home in Appleton and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Oct. 21, 1903, in Hegbert Township, Swift County, to Edwin and Anne (Bakken) Eliason. She graduated from Lutheran Normal School in Madison, then worked as a cook in private homes in Minneapolis and Chicago. She later went on to Franklin Schools of Practical Nursing. After graduation, she went to Washington where she worked as an LPN in Forks, Wash., and Seattle, and then returned to Minneapolis. She returned to Appleton to care for her father and worked as a nurse there until retiring in 1977.
She is survived by her brother Thomas (and Helga) Eliason of Appleton; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters and five brothers.
Mayme Krueger

MINNEAPOLIS _ Mayme Krueger, 85, of Minneapolis and formerly of Pennock, died Jan. 17.
Funeral services were Jan. 20 at First Memorial Waterston Chapel in Minneapolis, with the Rev. Harry Peterson officiating.
She was born May 18, 1911, in Pennock to Mr. and Mrs. John Dahlman. On June 25, 1935, she married Everett Krueger in Alexandria. She taught school in Willmar for a number of years before they moved to Minneapolis.
She is survived by her husband; children Faith (and Rodger) Brask, Connie (and Bob) Nelson), Wesley Krueger (and fiancee Jan Solarz), Dot (and Robb) Sweetnam, Cheryl (and Marty) Heller, Dalton (and Janet) Krueger, all of Minneapolis; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister Mary Ann Vorvick of Minneapolis; and many relatives in the Willmar area.
Paul Dorweiler
MONTEVIDEO _ Paul Dorweiler, 33, of Montevideo, died Sunday at Sioux Valley Hospital in Sioux Falls, S.D., after an accident.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Our Saviors Lutheran Church of Baxter, with the Rev. Steve Rheingans officiating.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.

PIERZ _ Hazel Commerford, 78, of Pierz died Saturday at St. Mary's Villa in Pierz.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Michael's Catholic Church in Buckman, with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Ron Dockendorf will officiate.
Visitation will be 4 to 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of services, at Brenny Funeral Home in Pierz. There will be a Christian Mothers rosary at 7:30 p.m., parish prayers at 8 p.m., and a Knights of Columbus Office of the Dead at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
She was born Aug. 30, 1918, in Banyor Township, Pope County, to Edwin and Bertha (Basol) Peterson. She taught in country school before marrying Marcellus Commerford on June 14, 1941, in Murdock. She was a homemaker, and helped her husband in his refrigeration business.
She is survived by her husband; daughters Patty Commerford of Minneapolis, Mary Orchard of Brooklyn Park; sons Jerry of Duluth, Mike of Hastings, Bob of Buffalo, Steven of New Ulm, Dan of Pierz, Mark of Fridley; sisters Ruth Flolo of Brooklyn Park, Velora Westerlund of Bloomington, Bernice Roepke of Circle Pines, Norma Hollen of Glenwood; brother Wayne Peterson of Fontana; and many grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and one sister.
Dorothy Anderson

HAZEL RUN _ Dorothy Anderson, 72, of Hazel Run, died Sunday at Granite Falls Hospital.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. today at Hazel Run Lutheran Church, with the Rev. Cynthia Hopp officiating. Burial will be in Hazel Run Cemetery.
Visitation was Monday at Lynner Funeral Home in Clarkfield, and continues one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Feb. 14, 1924, in Galveston, Texas, to Lorice (Johnson) and Gustav Stonequist. She graduated from high school in 1941. On Feb. 24, 1946, she married John Anderson in Houston, Texas. They moved to Minneapolis, and later to Hazel Run, where they farmed for 50 years.
She is survived by her husband; children Dennis Anderson of Omaha, Neb., Barbara Kludt of St. Paul, Corrine (and Brian) Kraft of New Brighton, Donald (and Sharon) Anderson of Hazel Run; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; three sisters-in-law; and many nieces and nephews.

MESA, Ariz. - Marie Kathryn Vosika, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday in Mesa.
Her memorial service will be at 9:30 a.m. today at Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mesa. Burial will be at a later date in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Willmar.
Arrangements are with Bunker's University Chapel of Mesa (480-830-4105).
She was born July 3, 1920, in Arlington, to Walter and Kathryn Comnick. She married Ben Vosika and they lived in Willmar. She has lived in Mesa for 16 years.
She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Willmar, and active in Altar Rosary Society.
She is survived by her sons Michael (and Diane) Vosika of Willmar, Larry (and Terry) Vosika of Detroit Lakes, John and Jodi Vosika of Gilbert, Ariz; daughters Gloria (and Roger) Johnson of Mesa, Dianne (and Donny) Swenson of Hastings, Kathy (and Rick) Johnson of Jackson; 17 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1983.
Silas 'Edgar' Thompson

STARBUCK - Silas "Edgar" Thompson, 92, of Starbuck, died Wednesday at Minnewaska District Hospital in Starbuck.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at The Commons-Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck with the Rev. Tenner Thompson and the Rev. Eileen Mehl officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the Commons. Arrangements are with Hoplin Funeral Home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1908, in Barsness Township, Pope County, to Hans and Videa Josephine (Milsten) Thompson. He attended country school and worked on the farm.
He was a member of Barsness Lutheran Church and lifetime resident of Pope County. Following retirement, he wintered in Arizona. In March 1995, he moved to Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers.
Florence J. Bjorngjeld

KERKHOVEN - Florence Josephine Bjorngjeld, 89, of Kerkhoven, died Wednesday at Bethesda Pleasant View Care Facility in Willmar.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Kerkhoven Lutheran Church with the Rev. Don Block officiating. Burial will be in Hillside Cemetery in Kerkhoven.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today at Jacobson-Zniewski Funeral Home in Benson, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born July 29, 1910, in Benson, to Ole and Mina (Samsol) Holstad. She was a graduate of Benson High School.
On May 1, 1937, she married Olaf Bjorngjeld in Benson, where they lived. They later moved to Kerkhoven.
She was a member of Kerkhoven Lutheran Church and Homemakers Club.
She is survived by her daughter Carol Van Buren (and special friend Wally Gilbertson) of Willmar; son Gary (and Jan) Bjorngjeld of Murdock; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and sisters Emma Jossart of Benson and Mary Ann Pederson of Benson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers and four sisters.
Rev. Willard Geselle

GRAND RAPIDS - The Rev. Willard J. Geselle, 74, of Grand Rapids, died Friday at Itasca Nursing Home.
His funeral was held Wednesday at Church of the Nazarene in Grand Rapids. Burial was in Itasca-Calvary Cemetery in Grand Rapids. Arrangements were with Rowe Funeral Home of Grand Rapids.
He was born Nov. 27, 1925, in Detroit Lakes, to Olen W. and Lillian L. (Pfettscher) Geselle.
On Oct. 7, 1946, he married Annie M. "Marie" Adams in Charleston, Mo. He attended schools in Danube and Olivia, later graduating with honors from Olivet Nazarene College in Kankakee, Ill. He served as pastor in Corvuso as well as other parishes.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Ruth Anderson of Grand Rapids, Patsy (and Bill) Malas of Richmond, Va.; sons James (and Julie) Geselle of Elkhart, Ind., Timothy (and Rhoda) Geselle of Newbury Park, Calif.; sisters LaVerna Geselle of Willmar, Geraldine Swanson of Hector; brother Earl (and Grace) Geselle of Nampa, Idaho; seven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter and one sister.
Norman 'Nobby' Halvorson

GLENWOOD - Norman "Nobby" Halvorson, 79, of Glenwood, died Wednesday at Glenwood Retirement Village.
His memorial service will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Glenwood Lutheran Church with the Rev. James Gronewold officiating.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Hoplin Funeral Chapel.
He was born July 9, 1920, in Glenwood "West" Township, to Henry Gustav and Hilda Bolleta (Barsness) Halvorson. He was a 1939 graduate of Glenwood High School. He farmed the family farm his entire life.
On Oct. 18, 1947, he married Mary Jane Carson in Minneapolis.
He was a charter member of Glenwood Jaycees, was a member of Lions Club and Glenwood Lutheran Church, and active with Glenwood Boy Scouts.
He is survived by his wife; sons Henry Halvorson of St. Louis Park, Eric Halvorson of Minneapolis, Mark Halvorson of Glenwood; daughter Carey (and Robert) Peterson of Hugo; and four grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and one sister.
Ethel M. Kohmetscher

LITCHFIELD - Ethel Mae Kohmetscher, 86, of Litchfield, died Wednesday at Bethany Nursing Home in Litchfield.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with the Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
She was born May 1, 1913, in Swede Grove Township, Meeker County, to John and Matilda (Neuman) Christenson. Her mother died in 1918 and she was raised by her aunt, Emma Johnson. She was a 1934 graduate of Washington High School in Litchfield.
On Sept. 4, 1939, she married Lawrence Henry Kohmetscher in Litchfield. They farmed near Indianola, Neb., and south of Litchfield, moving into Litchfield in 1951. She was employed by Litchfield Produce, The Travelers Inn, Colonial Café, and Tonka Toys of Mound.
She was a member of Litchfield Golden Age Club.
She is survived by her daughters Lorna (and Norman) Menken of Litchfield, Rose (and Lyle) Shepersky of Two Harbors, Ruth (and Larry) Sutter of Litchfield; 13 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband in September 1963, and by three sisters and four brothers.
Ruth W. Feine

BUFFALO LAKE - Ruth W. Feine, 81, of Buffalo Lake, formerly of Hector, died Wednesday at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hector. Burial will be in Hector City Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. Arrangements are with Hughes Funeral Home.
She was born July 14, 1918, in Rushford, to Sigurd and Gusta (Knutson) Jaastad. She was a graduate of Rushford High School and attended Winona State Teachers College.
On Sept. 14, 1941, she married John Feine in Bovey. They lived in Hart and Red Lakes Falls, where he operated a creamery and she did the bookkeeping. They moved to Hector in 1948. They owned and operated Hector Dairy until the early 1960s, when they went into partnership as R&J DX. She was employed by the telephone company from 1963 to 1980, when she retired.
She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, active in circle and quilting groups, and American Legion Auxiliary.
She is survived by her daughters Karen (and Lowell) Kirgiss of Garfield, Ark., Judi (and Lyle) Olson of Duluth; two grandchildren; brother Karrol Jaastad of Rushford; sister Sygne Adams of Alexandria, Va.; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, an infant daughter, two brothers and one sister.
