BENSON - Inez Marie Himley, 77, of Benson, died Sunday at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center in Benson.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Our Redeemer's Lutheran Church Chapel in Benson with the Rev. Keith Born officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the chapel. Arrangements are with Jacobson-Zniewski Funeral Home of Benson.
She was born Feb. 28, 1923, in Montevideo, to Milo Dan and Helma Pauline (Pearson) Paugh. She attended Montevideo schools. She married Vernon Orris Himley in Montevideo where they lived. They moved to California, later retiring to Benson. She has lived at Meadow Lane Healthcare Center over 10 years.
She is survived by her sister Nellie Moe of Montevideo; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband in 1990, son David Himley, daughter Diane Barnes, and six siblings.
William E. Kuehl

LITCHFIELD - William E. Kuehl, 94, of Litchfield, died Tuesday at Meeker County Memorial Hospital in Litchfield.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Emmaus Place Chapel in Litchfield with the Rev. Truman Stehr and the Rev. Paul Holle officiating. Burial will be at Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield and one hour prior to services at the church,
He was born April 17, 1906, in Harvey Township, Meeker County, to August and Anna (Ross) Kuehl. He District 2 school through the eighth grade. On Sept. 26, 1928, he married Leone Bach in Forest City. They farmed for 48 years in both Harvey and Forest City townships. He was a grain bin supervisor for Meeker County for 10 years, federal crop insurance agent for 12 years, served on the Forest City town board, the Federal Land Bank board for 33 years, Forest City Stockade Board and the Production Credit Board. He was a member of St. Matthews United Church of Christ, Forest City, and served on several boards in the church. He helped build the St. Matthews Church parsonage and at the time of his death was the oldest living member of the church.
He is survived by daughters Arlene Sanderson Smith and Lorraine (and Ray) Watkins, both of Litchfield; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; brothers Lloyd (and Margaret) of Litchfield and Kenneth (and Adeline) of Minneapolis; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his wife, one sister, two brothers, and son-in-law Vernon "Sandy" Sanderson.
Lawrence "Larry" H. Stavem
Aug. 13, 1936 - June 12, 2000
GLENWOOD - Lawrence H. "Larry" Stavem, 63, of Glenwood, died Monday at his home in Glenwood Township.
His funeral will be at 11:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Sacred Heart in Glenwood with the Rev. Thomas Becker officiating. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., with 7 p.m. prayer service, today at Hoplin Funeral Home in Glenwood, and one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Aug. 13, 1936, in Ben Wade Township, Pope County, to Thomas and Svea (Bjorklund) Stavem. He served in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1958. On Nov. 17, 1960, he married Marcella B. Motis in Reno Township. He owned and operated Larry's Station, an Amoco Station, in Glenwood since 1961. He was a member of VFW, Glenwood Jaycees and West Central Sheep Producers.
He is survived by his wife; son Darryl (and special friend Lynn Halverson) of Glenwood; daughters Dottie (and Wally) Rajdl of Glenwood, Deb Yackel of Glenwood; six grandchildren; sisters Carol (and Pete) Serrin of Glenwood, Rose Landa of Tracy; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and an infant grandson.
Viola E. Tweeter

MONTEVIDEO - Viola Evelyn Tweeter, 83, of Montevideo, died Tuesday at Clara City Care Center.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Montevideo with the Rev. Leo Deitemeyer officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be Thursday afternoon and evening at Anderson Funeral Home in Montevideo.
She was born July 7, 1916, in Lac qui Parle County, to Herman and Martha (Draeger) Graue. She attended rural schools. She was employed by Singer Sewing Shop of Montevideo, and as a cook by Rosy's Supper Club and Trailways Café, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her son Roger (and Jo) of Montevideo; two grandsons; two great-grandsons; brothers Robert Graue of Minneapolis and Curtis Graue of Sioux Falls, S.D.; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, sons Richard and Gary, one granddaughter, two brothers and two sisters.
Nick Haspert

HECTOR - Nicholas J. Haspert, 88, of Hector, died Thursday at Buffalo Lake Healthcare Center.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church in Hector. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m., with 7:30 p.m. prayer service Sunday, at Hughes Funeral Home in Hector, and one hour prior to services Monday at the church.
He was born Aug. 21, 1911, in Wamago, Kan., to Folden and Anna Marie (Schneider) Haspert. They moved to the Hector-Buffalo Lake area in 1930 and he farmed. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II, receiving the Purple Heart. He was in business partnership with Myrle Sing and Howard Musil in Fairway Construction, and founded Service Implement Company of Hector. On June 28, 1938, he married Everald A. Sing in Hector, where they lived. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Hector, and a 50-year member of Hector American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; children Jaylene Haspert of Chanhassen, Thomas Haspert of Aitkin; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four stepgreat-grandchildren; brother Joseph (and Elaine) of Buffalo Lake; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, and two brothers.
Grace G. Louden
July 10, 1919 - June 13, 2000
LONG PRAIRIE - Grace G. Louden, 80, of Anchorage, Ala., formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday at Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage.
Her funeral will be 1 p.m. today at the Stephan-Stein Funeral Home Chapel, Long Prairie with the Rev. Jim Brown officiating. Burial will be at the Gordon Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Gordon Township, Todd County.
She was born July 10, 1919, in Long Prairie to William and Viola (Plaistad) Lunceford. She grew up in Long Prairie and Osakis. On April 16, 1959 she married Robert Loudon. They moved to Minneapolis, where she worked in retail sales. From 1974 to 1980 she worked at Butters Women's Store in Willmar. After her retirement, she lived in Florida and Arizona, until moving to Anchorage to live with her children.
She is survived by two children, Vicki (and Greg) Lippert of Anchorage, Alaska, and Todd (and Teresa) Loudon of Anchorage, Alasla; and three granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two brothers, and her parents.
Larry Anderson
July 25, 1950 - June 17, 2000
DAWSON - Larry Anderson, 49, of rural Dawson died in a farming accident on Saturday.
His funeral will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Providence Valley Lutheran Church in rural Dawson with the Rev. Kenneth Kilheffer officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today with a 7 p.m. prayer service at the Hanson and Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson, and one hour prior to services at the church on Tuesday.
He was born July 25, 1950, in Dawson to Wallace J. and Evelyn (Hauge) Anderson. Upon graduation in 1968 from Dawson High School, he entered the Minnesota National Guard (Dawson Battery). After completing basic training, he attended Canby Technical School, graduating with a diesel mechanic degree. He worked for several implement dealers before starting his life-long career of farming.
He married Donna Baer in November 1970. He was a member of Providence Valley Lutheran Church, serving as an usher and council member. For many years he was on the Providence Township Board and Midwest Cattlemen's Association.
He is survived by his wife; his children Lisa Anderson of Clear Lake, S.D., and Ryan Anderson of Dawson; his father; and sister Karen (and Frank) Bielinksi of Marshall.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents and mother.
Wayne Erickson
July 21, 1914 - June 15, 2000
MONTEVIDEO - Wayne Kenneth Erickson, 85, of Montevideo died Thursday at the Chippewa County-Montevideo Hospital.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. today at Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Montevideo. Burial will be in Sunset Cemetery in Montevideo.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Wing-Bain Funeral Home of Montevideo is in charge of arrangements.
He was born July 21, 1914, in Leenthrop Township, Chippewa County, to Lawrence and Hattie (Sprangel) Erickson. He attended country school in Leenthrop Township. He participated in the Civilian Conservation Corps from 1930 to 1935, assisting in reforesting, and bridge and dam building.
On Sept. 5, 1937, he married Vernice Boettcher in Randall. They farmed east of Montevideo from 1939 to 1976 and operated Erickson's Nursery from 1960 to 1983. After retirement, they moved to Maple Lake near Alexandria, and later moved back to Montevideo.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church and the Minnesota Nurserymen's Association.
Survivors include his wife in Montevideo; sons, Keith (and Ramona) and Robert B (and Carol), both of Montevideo; daughters, Valorie (and LeRoy) Gregerson of Shorewood and Cheryl (and John) Sandven of Danvers; brother, Gordon (and Keta) of Dallas Center, Iowa; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and two sisters.
Annie Hagen

BELVIEW - Annie Martha Hagen, 21, of Belview died Friday of injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Balaton.
The funeral will be at 2 p.m. today at Grace Lutheran Church in Belview. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour before the service at the church. Redwood Valley Funeral Home of Redwood falls is in charge of arrangements.
She was born Dec. 7, 1978, in Redwood Falls to Donald and Nancy (Roxberg) Hagen. She attended Belview Public School and graduated from BDRSH High School in 1997.
She had been attending the University of Minnesota at Morris and was working as a personal care assistant this summer. At college she was a member of Big Friend Little Friend and played on the college softball team. She was a 4-H Club member and a member of Grace Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her parents; brothers, Nathan (and fiance Brenda) of Mankato and Daniel of Belview; sister, Kelly Hagen of Belview; paternal grandmother Ruth Hagen; and maternal grandfather Marvin Roxberg.
She was preceded in death by grandmother Gertrude Roxberg; and a grandfather Marvin Roxberg.
Julian Anding

GRANITE FALLS - Julian Anding, 81, of Granite Falls died Friday at the Clara City Care Center.

He was born Sept. 2, 1918, in Chippewa County to Henry R. and Sophie (Swenson) Anding. He attended country school. He worked for the city of Granite Falls and farmed with his father.
Survivors include sisters Avaline Lundin of Rapid City, S.D., and Idell (and Dennis) Lalim of Willmar; and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
Aagot Nebben

DAWSON - Aagot Nebben, 86, of Dawson died Saturday at Johnson Memorial Home in Dawson.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Grace Lutheran Church in Dawson with the Rev. Paul Christopher and the Rev. Kendall Stelter officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at Hanson & Dahl Funeral Home in Dawson, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Oct. 9, 1913, in Dawson to Ole P. and Gunda (Nesvold) Bratmoe.
In 1949, she married Gilbert Nebben in Dawson where they lived.
She was a member of Ladies Aid, Dawson Senior Citizens Club, American Legion Auxiliary, Gold Star Sisters and a Johnson Memorial Home volunteer.
She is survived by her son Curt (and Cathy); five grandchildren; one great-grandson and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on Jan. 9, 1978, son Arden and six brothers.
Lyle A. Thiele

LITCHFIELD - Lyle Anton Thiele, 79, of Litchfield died Saturday at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield with the Rev. Gary Worthington officiating. Burial will be in Ripley Cemetery in Litchfield. Military honors by Nelsan-Horton Post 104 American Legion.
Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. today, and two hours prior to services, at the funeral home.
He was born Sept. 5, 1932, in Dassel to Anton and Violet (Tuey) Thiele. He served in the U.S. military.
On Jan. 25, 1956, he married Marilyn Granquist in Wayzata. They lived in Minneapolis from 1956 to 1958, and moved in 1960 to St. Paul, where he was employed by Plews Manufacturing. They moved to Cokato in 1961, and to Brooklyn Park in 1979. He was employed by Honeywell in New Brighton and Golden Valley, retiring in 1995. They moved to Litchfield in 1996.
He was a member of American Legion.
He is survived by his wife; sons Brian Thiele of Litchfield, Anthony Thiele of Litchfield, Gary (and Gail) Thiele of Montrose; nine grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; sisters Iris Donnay of Watkins, Beverly Isaacson of Hamel, Gale Metzera of Burnsville and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Beatrice M. Matson

SVEA - Beatrice M. Matson, 75, of rural Svea died Sunday at Pleasantville Nursing Home in Willmar.
Her funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Svea Lutheran Church in Svea with the Rev. William Wilson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Peterson Brothers Funeral Home in Willmar, and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born April 5, 1925, in Willmar, to Bernice (Enevold) and Alvin R. Swenson. She was a graduate of Willmar High School.
She was employed by Svea Store and by Dr. Chelgren in Willmar. On Nov. 11, 1950, she married Roger E. Matson.
She was a former Sunday School teacher, Ladies Aid officer and active in various women's activities at church.
She is survived by her husband; son Dean at home; daughter Debra (and Jerry) Negen of Blomkest and two grandsons.
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter Diane and one sister.
Arthur W. Ewert

LITCHFIELD - Arthur William Ewert, 69, of Litchfield died Friday at his home in Litchfield.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Church of St. Philip in Litchfield with the Rev. Peter Nosbush officiating. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday in St. Peter and Paul's Cemetery in Belle Plaine. Military rites by Admiral Benson Post 2818 VFW of Litchfield.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today, with a 6 p.m. parish prayer service, at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
He was born March 21, 1931, in Fergus Falls to Arthur and Martha (Muth) Ewert. He was a 1949 graduate of Breckenridge High School, and he served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-55. He attended North Dakota State in Fargo, N.D., and was a graduate of North Dakota State School of Science in Wahpeton, N.D., with a degree in engineering.
On Aug. 31, 1957, he married Marian Peterson. They divorced in 1981. He was employed as an engineer by General Electric many years.
He graduated from Albuquerque State College in Albuquerque, N.M., with teaching degrees in math and science. He taught in California and Texas high schools. On July 29, 1988, he married Barbara Blaha-Graham in Chaska. They lived in Minnesota, New Mexico and Colorado, retiring to Litchfield in 1997.
He was a member of Admiral Benson Post 2818 Veterans of Foreign Wars in Litchfield.
He is survived by his wife; children David (and Bonnie) Ewert of Dent, Donald Ewert of San Diego, Calif., Barbara (and Joe) Budagher of Albuquerque, William (and Andrea) Ewert of Albuquerque, Diane (and J.D.) Baca of Albuquerque; stepchildren Maureen Graham (and Michael Lamb) of Avon, Colleen (and David) St. Amand of Green Isle, Skye Christianson (and Jim Eddings) of Tremonton, Utah, La Donna Graham (and Peder Hallberg) of Minneapolis; 20 grandchildren; mother Martha Weeks of Litchfield and sister Anita (and William) Jette of Albuquerque.
