Floyd C. Lund
March 1, 1906 - Oct. 3, 2000
STARBUCK -- Floyd Clayton Lund, 94, of Starbuck died Tuesday at the Minnewaska District Hospital in Starbuck.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Fron Lutheran Church in Starbuck with the Rev. Bruce Nelson and Intern Pastor Eric Thorson officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today and one hour prior to services at the church. Starbuck Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He was born March 1, 1906, near Kerkhoven to Charles and Agnes (Johnson) Lund. He moved with his family in 1909 to a farm in Rolling Forks south of Starbuck. He attended country school through the eighth grade at Pope County School District 77. He worked on the family farm.
On May 12, 1928, he married Elanora Otteson in Glenwood. They lived on the family farm until purchasing a home in 1944 in Starbuck, where he lived until 1998. In 1945, he started a Minneapolis Moline implement business in Starbuck, which he operated until the '60s and then sold. He worked for the Cement Products Company in the summers.
He was a member of the Starbuck City Council, serving as president in 1957, the Starbuck School Board from 1946-52 and Fron Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his son Don (and Marla) Lund of San Clemente, Calif.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brother Linden Lund of Minneapolis; sisters Daisy Lund of Minneapolis, Blanche Bartz of Starbuck and Helen Michels of Minneapolis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife Elanora, second wife Alice, infant son Floyd Jr., one sister and one brother.

Harold W. Dickinson
OLIVIA -- Harold W. Dickinson, formerly of Olivia, died July 16 in Bemidji.
His memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Faith United Methodist Church in Olivia. Those attending are welcome to share memories of Harold.
Burial of ashes was July 21 in Greenwood Cemetery in Bemidji.

Catherine M. Tisdell
Jan. 9, 1909 - Oct. 9, 2000
OLIVIA -- Catherine M. Tisdell, 91, of Olivia died Monday at Buffalo Lake Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Marys Catholic Church in Bird Island with the Rev. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be in St. Patricks Cemetery in Birch Coulee Township in rural Franklin.
Visitation will be 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia.
She was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Danvers to Thomas and Mary (Gallagher) Dolan. She was a graduate of Graceville High School and attended normal training in Appleton. She taught rural school in Swift and Renville counties.
On Sept. 5, 1938, she married Clarence Tisdell in Danvers. They farmed south of Olivia. Clarence died in 1980. She moved into Olivia in 1982, to Bird Island Manor in 1997, and to Buffalo Lake Nursing Home this past month.
She was a 4-H leader, and member of a sewing club, and was active in St. Patricks Catholic Church in Birch Coulee, Sacred Heart Church in Franklin and St. Aloysius Church in Olivia.
She is survived by her children Sheila (and Bill) Sorenson of McGregor, Terry (and Marilyn) Tisdell of San Jose, N.M., Joe (and Maefol) Tisdell of Burnsville; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and sisters Clara Connelly of Northfield and Celia Evanson of Minneapolis.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and eight siblings.

Janet K. Westre
July 12, 1949 - Oct. 9, 2000
SPICER -- Janet Kaye Westre, 51, of Spicer died Monday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar following an extended illness.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Faith Lutheran Church in Spicer with the Rev. Scott Gjevre and the Rev. Simon Fensom officiating. Burial will be in Spicer City Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Green Lake Funeral Home in Spicer and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born July 12, 1949, in Clarkfield to Donald and C. Lorraine (Olson) Wilson. She was a 1967 graduate of Clarkfield High School, attended Concordia College in Moorhead one year, and transferred to University of Minnesota-St. Paul, majoring in clothing and textiles in business.
On Aug. 28, 1971, she married Lane Westre. They lived in Willmar, moving to Spicer in 1976. She received her licensed practical nursing degree from Willmar Community College. She was employed by Planned Parenthood in Willmar for 10 years. She returned to Willmar Community College and completed her registered nursing degree. She continued working for Planned Parenthood.
She was active at Faith Lutheran Church and was a Boy Scout volunteer.
She is survived by her sons Aaron (and Polly) Westre of Grand Forks, N.D., Brian Westre of Spicer; daughter Carrie Westre of Spicer; brother Clair (and Linda) Wilson of St. Bonifacius; sister Laurel (and David) Lukken of Clarkfield; ex-husband Lane Westre and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Susan E. Imdieke Lindstrom
Oct. 3, 1970 - Oct. 9, 2000
FALCON HEIGHTS -- Susan E. Imdieke Lindstrom, 30, of Falcon Heights, daughter-in-law of John and Mary Lindstrom of Willmar, died Monday at Fairview University Medical Center.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church in Hastings with the Rev. Eugene McGlothin, OSB, officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. today at Caturia-Smidt Funeral Home in Hastings (651-437-9419).
Survivors include her husband Peter, parents and brother.

Dale G. Baseman
April 13, 1944 - Oct. 7, 2000
WILLMAR -- Dale George Baseman, 56, of Willmar died Saturday at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
His funeral will be at 3 p.m. Friday at Bethel Lutheran Church in Willmar.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the church and one hour prior to services Friday. Arrangements are with Harvey Anderson Funeral Home in Willmar.
He was born April 13, 1944, in Hutchinson to George and Agnes (Schroeder) Baseman. He was a 1962 graduate of Hutchinson High School and a 1967 graduate of University of Minnesota.
On Oct. 8, 1966, he married Beverly Anderson in Cokato. They moved to Willmar in 1967. He was manager of Production Credit Association, vice president of ag loans at First American Bank, and sales representative for Lutheran Brotherhood and Aflac Insurance.
He was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church, serving on church council, finance committee, youth committee, and was church treasurer and cemetery board treasurer. He was a member of Willmar Noon Lions, Ducks Unlimited, and University of Minnesota Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife; daughters Karna (and Dirk) Baseman Stark of Spring Valley, Wis., Kimberly (and Kevin) Schliesman of Rochester; son Kristoff Baseman of St. Paul; two grandchildren; and sisters Ruth Youngkrantz of Cokato and Alice Friauf of Hutchinson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

Nellie Elseth
Oct. 31, 1912 - Oct. 8, 2000
RENVILLE -- Nellie Elseth, 87, of Renville died Sunday at Renville County Hospital in Olivia.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ebenezer Presbyterian Church in rural Renville with the Rev. Douglas Workman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Renville and one hour prior to services at the church.
She was born Oct. 31, 1912, in Orton Township, Wadena County, to George and Minnie (Westra) Frame. She completed her education in Sebeka. She worked at her mothers café in Nimrod.
On June 24, 1933, she married Harold Elseth in Sebeka. They lived in Strathoona where they worked for the local creamery. In 1941, they moved to Argyle where they managed the co-op creamery and locker plant. In 1957, they moved to Renville where she worked as activity director at the Ren-Villa Nursing Home. She operated the Back Door Shop where she sold various homemade crafts. She also sold bakery goods and catered weddings with her sister.
She was a member of Ebenezer Presbyterian Church and a former member of Eastern Star.
She is survived by her sons Harold (and Libby) of Martinez, Ga., Curtis (and Berta) of Vestal, N.Y., Sheldon (and Sonia) of Rochester and Rodger of Florida; sister Irene Pederson of Oylen; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Harold on Aug. 28, 1978, and two brothers.

Philip N. Hanson
Feb. 11, 1919 - Oct. 10, 2000
NEW LONDON -- Phillip Norman Hanson, 81, of New London died Tuesday at Rice Memorial Hospital in Willmar.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Paynesville Evangelical Free Church near Paynesville with the Rev. Rich Hubert officiating. Burial will be in the East Irving Mission Cemetery, rural Paynesville.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Johnson Funeral Home in New London and one hour prior to services at the church.
He was born Feb. 11, 1919, in Irving Township to Herman and Beret (Most) Hanson. He attended school at District 66.
On March 28, 1942, he married Norma Baklund near Willmar. They farmed in Irving Township until 1983. For the past four years they have lived in New London.
For 12 years, he was a member of the District 66 school board. He also served on the Irving Township Board and was a member of the Shippers Association and the Midwest Breeders Association. He was a member of the Paynesville Evangelical Free Church where he served as deacon, treasurer and trustee.
He is survived by his wife of New London; daughters Patricia (and Roger) Fernelius of Little Falls, Nancy (and Rodney) Larson of Delano, Monica (and Gary) Klose of Spicer; sons Bruce (and Ann) of Buffalo, Curtis (and Linda) of Spicer; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, three brothers, a grandson and a granddaughter.

Harry J. Red Bissett
Aug. 13, 1926 - Oct. 10, 2000
MINNETONKA -- Harry J. Red Bissett, 74, of Minnetonka, formerly of Willmar, died Tuesday from prostate cancer.
His memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 1300 Main Street, Hopkins. Private burial will be in Ft. Snelling National Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Washburn-McReavy Strobeck Johnson Chapel in Hopkins. In lieu of flowers, memorials aare preferred to Allina Hospice, Attention: Cindy Bloom, 2750 Arthur St., Roseville, MN 55113.
He was born Aug. 13, 1926, in St. Cloud. He was a World War II and Korean Conflict veteran, serving in the U.S. Navy. He retired in 1988 from Burlington Northern Railroad where he was conductor. He was a 25-year resident of Willmar.
He is survived by his wife Vi; son Steve (and Deb) of Elk River; daughters Brenda (and Pete) Klinkner of Eagan, Kellie (and Doug) Peterson of Greenfield; Dawn (and Doug) Karon of Plymouth; eight grandchildren; brother Elwood (and Lorraine) Bissett of St. Cloud; sisters Margaret (and Don) McKenzie of White Bear Lake and Marion Smilanich of Alexandria.

Jean E. Elstrom
Jan. 23, 1898 - Oct. 9, 2000
WILLMAR -- Jean E. Elstrom, 102, of Willmar died Monday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Harvey Anderson Funeral Home Chapel in Willmar with the Rev. Bruce Harshberger officiating. Burial will be in Union Cemetery in Atwater.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.
She was born Jan. 23, 1898, in Hibbing to John and Hilma Lowry.
She married Walter Elstrom and they farmed north of Kandiyohi. They retired to their home on Green Lake.
She is survived by nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, five brothers and two sisters.

Beatrice Overlander
Oct. 25, 1925 - Oct. 9, 2000
WELCH -- Beatrice 'Bea' Overlander, 74, of Welch, formerly of Willmar, died Monday at her son's home in Welch.
Her memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at United Methodist Church in Willmar with the Rev. Perry Weiland officiating. Burial will be in Cloverleaf Cemetery in Willmar.
She was born Oct. 25, 1925, in Prinsburg to Henry and Augusta Groen.
On Feb. 17, 1944, she married Geoffrey "Bud" Overlander. They farmed near Kerkhoven for 12 years, moving to Willmar in 1956. She was employed by Tengwall Insurance Company and served on the Farmers Credit Union Board until 1966. She was then employed by Willmar Public Schools 14_ years, retiring Jan. 9, 1981. They summered at Lake Florida in Spicer and wintered in Venice, Fla.
In Florida, she taught a "Huff and Puff" exercise class, served as treasurer and a member of Sandalwood Park Board and membership committee.
She is survived by her son Donald (and Lynne) Overlander; daughter Beverly (and Edward) Pientka; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers Delmar (and LaDonna) Groen of Pennock, Henry (and Judy) Groen of Shakopee; sisters Deloris (George) Tengwall of Ortonville, Betty (Gene) Dirks of Indiana and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her husband, two grandsons, and two brothers, one in infancy.

Carol E. Stuhr
March 14, 1922 - Oct. 10, 2000
BLOMKEST -- Carol Elizabeth Stuhr, 78, of Blomkest died Tuesday at Bethesda Pleasantview Nursing Home in Willmar.
Her memorial service will be at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Faith Methodist Church in Olivia. Private family burial will be in Olivia Cemetery.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Dirks-Blem Funeral Home in Olivia.
She was born March 14, 1922, in Wanda to Albert and Mary Peterson. Her family moved to Blomkest when she was 4.
On June 28, 1941, she married Harvey Stuhr. They farmed for 40 years.
She was a 4-H leader and member of United Methodist Church in Olivia, where she was active in circle.
She is survived by her children Adele (and Alan) Klar, Donavon Stuhr (and special friend Donna King), Conni (and John) Chapin, Lois (and Clarence) Kadrmas; 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sister Marian (and Joe) Stanghelle; brother Richard (and Marlene) Peterson and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother, one grandson, and daughter-in-law Diane Stuhr.

David B. Mathiowetz
Nov. 3, 1984 - Oct. 8, 2000
REDWOOD FALLS -- David B. Mathiowetz, 15, son of Steve and Marlys Mathiowetz of rural Redwood Falls, died Sunday at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale from injuries resulting from an automobile accident Oct. 2 in New Avon Township, Redwood County.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery in Clements.
Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. Friday, with a 7 p.m. prayer service, at the church and one hour prior to services. Arrangements are with Nelson Funeral Home in Redwood Falls.
Survivors include his parents, sister, brother, grandparents Harvey and Katie Hoekstra of rural Blomkest, grandmother, and other relatives.

Mariana Hohmann
Feb. 18, 1924 - Oct. 10, 2000
DeKALB, Ill. -- Mariana Hohmann, 76, of DeKalb, Ill., died Tuesday at DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Private graveside services will be in Litchfield. Memorials in her name to benefit DeKalb County Rehabilitation and Nursing Center are preferred.
Arrangements are with Johnson-Hagglund Funeral Home in Litchfield.
She was born Feb. 18, 1924, in Lebanon, Ill., to the Rev. Rudolph and Anna (Loos) Hohmann, formerly of Litchfield.
She is survived by her brothers George (and Verona) Hohmann of Ottawa, Ill., Robert (and Elaine) Hohmann of DeKalb; and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

Loretta H. Flynn
April 9, 1908 - Oct. 10, 2000
PAYNESVILLE -- Loretta H. Flynn, 92, of Paynesville died Tuesday at Koronis Manor in Paynesville.
Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Louis Catholic Church in Paynesville. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery Mausoleum in Alexandria.
Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the church, with a Daughters of Isabella rosary at 9:30 a.m. Arrangements are by the Daniel-Anderson Funeral Home in Paynesville.
She was born April 9, 1908, in Long Prairie to John and Hermina (Fehrenbacker) Reichert. She graduated from Long Prairie High School. She was employed by the First National Bank in Minneapolis and later by the First National Bank in Paynesville.
On June 14, 1932, she married Edward Flynn in Collegeville. She lived in Paynesville most of her married life on Lake Koronis.
She was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church and Daughters of Isabella
She is survived by brothers Romaine of Shakopee, Ermin of Long Prairie, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four sisters and two brothers.
