She was born June 25, 1908, in Fordville, ND, the daughter of William and Nettie Falter. She was reared and educated in the Fordville area and graduated from Fordville High School. She then attended one year of college in Park River. On April 30, 1934, she married Robert G. Ward in Fordville. They moved to Kenmare in 1943. Hazel baked wedding cakes and baked for various restaurants in the Kenmare area. She also babysat for several years. Her husband died on June 16, 1976. She continued to live in Kenmare until the time of her death. She was a member of the Rebakahs Lodge for 56 years and the Royal Neighbors of America for 24 years.
Those Most Honored To Share In Her Life: Daughter, June Olds and husband Dwain, Kenmare; son, Kermit Ward, Watertown, MN; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Don Falter, Kelso, WA and sister, Bessie Bayne, Chehalis, WA. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; sons, Richard and Gerald; parents and 14 brothers and sisters.
Final Resting Place: Oak Grove Cemetery, Fordville, North Dakota
Burial will take place on Tuesday, May 30, at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to attend this service are asked to meet at the cemetery. There will be no formal procession.

Margaret "Marge" Waswick - - 1933 - 2000
Margaret Lou "Marge" Waswick, 67, 505 3rd St. NW, Minot, died Wednesday, December 20, 2000, in her home.
Margaret was born October 19, 1933, in Watertown, SD, the daughter of Gregory and Margaret (Fox) Hubof. She was raised and attended school in Watertown. She later moved with her family to Winona, MN.
She married Ronald G. Waswick on July 1, 1965 in Cresco, IA. They moved to Minot in 1980, and have lived here since. Ronald preceded her in death on August 24, 1993.
Survivors: Sons, Tom W. Waswick and wife, Roberta, Minot, Ron E. Waswick, Grafton, and Don G. Waswick and wife Sharlene, Holland, MI, Dean Haeuser, Grand Forks and Jay Haeuser, NY; daughters, Laurie, Oregon, Renee' Arizona, and Robin, California; numerous grandchildren; brothers, Bill Hubof, West Virginia, and Greg Hubof, Missouri; sisters, Dorothy Hubof-Ready, Wisconsin, Bobbi Rudnik, and Rosie Hatcher, both Winona, MN; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Andrew Weigel - - 1912 - 2000
Andrew Weigel, 87, formerly of the Orrin and Velva areas, died Wednesday, October 11, 2000 in an Underwood nursing home.
He was born October 21, 1912, in Orrin, ND, to Peter and Roscina (Voeller) Weigel. He was reared and educated in the Orrin area. He farmed with his parents and later took over farming operations on the family homestead near Orrin. He lived on the farm until 1998, when he went to live with his nephew Edward Weigel. In April of 2000, he moved in to the Granville Foster Care Home and then in September of 2000 he moved into Prairie View Homes in Underwood where he lived until the time of his death.
He was a member of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, St. Cecilia Catholic Church, Velva and was a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Survivors: sister, Rose Weber, Minot; 19 nieces and nephews and numerous great nieces and nephews and great-great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John and sister, Regina Samuel.
Mass of Christian Burial: Saturday, October 14, 2000, at 10:30 a.m. at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Orrin, ND.

Mary Jean Wentz, 62, 2801 West Central Ave. Minot, died Saturday, June 3, 2000, in her home.
Mary Jean was born February 28, 1938, in Minot, the daughter of William and Hazel (Knudson) Ward. She was raised in Minot and graduated from St. Leo's High School.
She married Alfred V. Wentz on June 7, 1958, in Minot. They lived in Minot and she worked as a bookkeeper at Westland Oil for a time and later Minot Livestock and then Rice Oil. She worked at Young America for the last 17 years. Alfred died February 28, 1990. She continued to live in Minot.
She was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Minot, and was active in the St. Leo's High School Reunion Committee.
Survivors: Daughters, Lisa Wentz, Minot, Beth Spaulding and her husband Kevin, Devils Lake, and Kristin Ziegler and her husband Randy, Bismarck; son, Bruce Wentz and his wife Cathy, Minot, two grandsons, Michael Wentz and Jalen Ziegler; mother, Hazel Ward, Minot; brother, William Patrick Ward and his wife Mary Jo, Big Fork, MT; sister, Sharon Bossert and her husband Albert, Drake. Emma Wenzel - - 1911 - 2000
Emma Wenzel, 88, 1636 1st St. SE, Minot, died Friday, May 12, 2000, at her home.
Emma was born July 27, 1911, in Russell, ND, to Joseph and Tena Matehs. She was raised and educated in the Russell and Pratt Township areas. She also attended Upham High School. On March 24, 1932, she married Ewalt Wenzel. They farmed in various areas all their married lives, including the Deering, Glenburn, Max and Berthold areas. They moved into Minot in 1958. She was an Avon representative for several years. Her husband preceded her in death in 1982.
She was a member of St. Marks Lutheran Church, Minot, Saints Alive, Lutheran Women's Missionary League (L.W.M.L.) and the Debra Circle.
Survivors: daughters, Edith Satcho and Ethel Peterson and husband Merle, all of Minot; four grandchildren, Marlene Albrightson, Mark Peterson, Scott Satcho and Paul Satcho; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Victor Matehs, Upham and Archie Matehs, Newburg and several nieces and nephews. Her husband, Ewalt, parents, Joseph and Tena Matehs and two brothers, Walter and Elmer Matehs preceded her in death.
Funeral: Wednesday, May 17, 2000, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Marks Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.

Elmer Westergard - - 1911 - 2000
Elmer Westergard, 88, 1544 South Main St., Minot, ND, died Thursday, July 13, 2000, in a Minot medical center.
He was born August 21, 1911,on the family farmstead in rural Balfour, ND the son of Mathias and Marie (Rumbolz) Westergard. He was reared and educated in rural Balfour, ND.
He entered the United States Army Air Corps on December 21, 1942, serving during World War II as a Tail Gunner in the Pacific Theater. Elmer was honorably discharged on December 28, 1945. After his discharge he returned to Minot and was employed with I. Keating Furniture as a carpet installer for a short period of time.
In 1952, Elmer went to work for Robertson Lumber Company, Minot. On August 14, 1965, he married Ardella (Kriedeman) at Faith United Methodist Church, Minot. He retired from Robertson's Lumber in 1977. Ardella passed away on April 19, 1988. Elmer continued to live in Minot up until his death.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, the American Legion, the Eagles Aerie, Veterans of Foreign Wars, and he held a life membership in the Moose from which he just received his 50 year membership.
Survivors: sister, Doris Smith, Orange City, FL; sister-in-laws, Laverne Adam, and Agnes Westergard, both of Minot, numerous nieces and nephew also survive. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ardella, parents and brother, Vernon.
Funeral Service: Saturday, July 15, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Faith United Methodist Church, Minot.
Visitation: Friday, July 14, 2000, from Noon until 8:30 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Wendy Westlie - - 1947 - 2000
Wendy Lee Westlie, 49, 7200 Melody Lane, #25, Le Mesa, CA 92042, formerly of Minot, who died April 28, 2000, in Le Mesa.
Wendy was born March 28, 1951, in Fargo, ND. She was the daughter of Gordon H. Westlie and Marilyn Weinhandl Westlie. She was raised in Minot, and in 1968, graduated from Minot High School. She later graduated from Mesa Junior College in San Diego, and was employed as a dental hygenist in San Diego. On July 7, 1978, she married Larry Johnson in Minot. In 1982, they moved to La Mesa where they since have lived.
Those Most Honored To Share In Her Life: Mr. Larry Johnson; daughters, Amy Bridget Westlie and Sheela Mae Westlie; a stepson, Taggert Johnson; her mother, Marilyn Davis; brothers, Todd Westlie and Mark Westlie; a niece and nephew, Tara and Michael Westlie; and a number of Westlie and Keating aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, Gordon H. Westlie, and stepfather, John E. Davis.
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 6, 2000, at 11 a.m. at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot. Friends may sign a register book one hour prior to the service at the church. A private burial will take place at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.
Memorials may be made in her memory to the Amy and Sheela Johnson-Westlie Scholarship Fund at First Western Bank, P.O. Box 1090, Minot, ND 58702, attention: Chris Lamoureux.
Following the service at the church everyone is invited to join with the family for fellowship and lunch at the home of Mary Brosnahan's, located at 502 Valley Street, Minot.

Betty White - - 1931 - 2000
Betty White, 69, 302 1st St., Velva, died Thursday, September 14, 2000, at a Minot medical center of natural causes
Betty Lou Torgerson was born on May 16, 1931, at Tioga, ND the daughter of Louis and Bertha Torgerson. She is of Norwegian descent. Out of eight siblings in her family, Betty is the second youngest and the only girl. She started school at the age of six in White Earth, ND and attended grades one through four there.
In 1940, the family moved to a farm two miles west of Velva where Betty grew up. They grew grain and raised livestock on their farm. She spent her summers helping her mother with gardening, canning, cleaning, and cooking. Betty attended grades five through twelve at Velva and graduated from high school with the class of 1949.
She meet her future husband Justin White in 1950. On June 13, 1951, Betty and Justin were married at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva. Justin was in the National Guard during the time of the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Alabama. During this time, Betty worked in the office at the International Harvester Dealership in Velva. In November of 1951, she joined Justin in Alabama. In March of 1952, Justin was sent to Texas for training. At that time Betty returned to North Dakota and after his discharge the couple settled in Williston.
Betty and Justin had four children, Cynthia Lou, Sheryl Louise, Patrice Jane and Kimberly Jaye. She started working part-time at the Farmers Insurance Group district office in Williston. In 1969, Betty and the girls moved to be with Justin in Fairbanks, Alaska, where he was employed in the oil fields. In 1972, their house burned down and they lost everything. As a result of the fire the family returned to North Dakota and from 1972 to 1989 they lived in the Fargo and Detroit Lakes, MN areas. Betty went to work for the St. Paul Insurance Company in Detroit Lakes from 1976 to 1982 when the office closed. Later she worked for the St. Paul Insurance Company in Fargo from 1984 to 1989 when she retired. In 1989, the couple moved back to Velva. Betty was certified as a Nursing Assistant and worked at the Souris Valley Care Center for about 7 years right up to her death.
She was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND.
Survivors: husband, Justin; daughters, Cynthia White Meyer and her husband Mark, St. Paul, MN, Sheryl Fitch and her companion Richard, Black Hawk, CO, Patrice Putney and her husband Terry, Minot, ND, and Kimberly Selzler and her husband Tim, Velva, ND; 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Clifford, Morris, Lloyd, Albin, Bennett, Eugene and Newel.
Funeral Service: Tuesday, September 19, 2000, at 10 a.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva.

Glen P. Willoughby - - 1924 - 2001
Glen P. Willoughby, 76, Rolette, formerly of the Ruso area, died Tuesday, January 2, 2001, in a Minot medical center.
Glen was born January 24, 1924, at Benedict, ND, the son of Clint and Regina (Noss) Willoughby. He was raised on a farm and attended school in that area until the family moved to a farm south of Ruso.
In August of 1944 he married Sylvia Berg. He entered the United States Army October 20, 1944 and served in the Phillipine Islands and Japan, during World War II, with the occupation forces as an ammunition truck driver. He was honorably discharged in November of 1946. Following his discharge he lived and farmed in the Ruso area and was rural mail carrier for 27 years. He then moved to Rolette where he was rural mail carrier since September of 1983.
Glen was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette. He belonged to the American Legion in Butte and Rolette, and served as commander in Rolette in 1995 and 1996. He served on the Butte school board for many years and was a member of the Moose Lodge, Minot.
Survivors: Son, Gary Willoughby and wife Ann, Ruso; daughters, Linda Powell and husband William, Sawyer, Laurel Arndt and husband Ron, Minot, and Karen Foster, Prescott Valley, AZ; six grandchildren, Ryan and Aryn Arndt, Codi, Sarah and Carly Willoughby, and Keely Foster; companion, Carol Twist; brothers, Lloyd, Garrison, Dale, Maryland and Roy, Turtle Lake. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Thomas and Jerald Willoughby.
Memorial Service: Saturday, January 6, 2001, at 10:30 a.m., at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette, ND.
Visitation: There will be no reviewal, cremation has taken place. Friends may sign the register prior to the service in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Rolette.
Burial: Ceremony to be held at the Ruso Cemetery in the spring, with a gathering for friends and family to be announced.

Jeanne Wilson - - 1927 - 2001
Jeanne Wilson, 73, 6221 11th Ave. SE, Minot, died Sunday, April 29, 2001, at her home.
She was born November 13, 1927, in Bismarck, ND to Omer and Barbara (Greenstien) Ball. She lived in Bismarck for a short time before moving with her family to Minot were she attended schools. She graduated from Minot Model High School in 1945. Following graduation she worked at various businesses in the Minot area. On August 5, 1950, she married Robert Wilson. In the mid 1970's she went to work at Bell School as a cook and also a custodian. In the early 1980's, Jeanne went to work at St. Joseph's Hospital in the housekeeping department. She worked there until retiring in 1994. Her husband died in June of 1982. Jeanne continued living in the Minot area until the time of her death.
She was a member of the American Legion and Eagles Auxiliary's, both of Minot. Jeanne loved to travel and was an avid reader.
Survivors: son, James Wilson, Fargo; daughters, Roberta Krueger, Surrey, Vickie Ellingson and husband Steve and Kathleen McConnell and husband Jim, all of Minot; 11 grandchildren; one great grandchild; brothers, Robert Ball, Portland, OR and Toni Ball, San Augustine, TX. Her husband, Robert Wilson, preceded her in death.
Funeral: Tuesday (TODAY), May 1, 2001, at 10:30 a.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Lloyd Wirth - - 1911 - 2000
Lloyd Wirth, 89, Westhope, formerly of Lansford, died Monday, September 11, 2000, in a Westhope nursing home.
He was born on April 2, 1911, in Mount Rose Township, rural Lansford, to August "Robert" and Millie (Kunz) Wirth. He was reared in Mount Rose Township and attended grade school there. He graduated from Lansford High School in 1929. He continued to live in that area and helped on his parents farm. He later took over the farming operations and farmed until 1982. He later moved into Lansford were he lived until 1997 when he moved into the Westhope Nursing Home.
He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford, ND and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Lansford, in which he held office. Lloyd also was an avid bowler and played on various bowling leagues.
Survivors: A number of cousins.
Memorial Service: At Trinity Lutheran Church, Lansford, on Thursday at 10:30 a.m.
There will be no reviewal, but friends may sign the register one hour prior to the service at the church.

Margaret Wolff - - 1923 - 2000
Margaret M. Wolff, 77, 621 6 Ave NE, Minot, died Monday, July 31, 2000 in a Minot Medical Center.
She was born to Joseph and Sophia (Hruska) Skalicky on July 6, 1923 at Owatonna, MN. She moved with her parents to Powers Lake, ND. She attended country school in the Powers Lake area. She married Wilhelm Nielsen in Powers Lake in November, 1942. They farmed in Powers Lake for several years. They had two daughters, MaryAnn and Barbara. They later divorced. In 1962, she moved to Minot and worked as a housekeeper for various families and businesses. She was employed with Thompson-Larson Funeral Home for a number of years. She married George Wolff in December of 1966. They made their home in Minot. She enjoyed her home, gardening, and her flowers.
She was active in the Senior Citizens Center and St. Leo's Catholic Church, both Minot. She volunteered at many church suppers and was involved with the ladies guild of the church.
Survivors: husband, George, Minot; daughters, Mary Ann Palmer, Seattle, WA, and Barbara Bohnenkamp and husband Jim, Gwinner, ND; eight grandchildren, Rose Marie Palmer and husband Geoff Pfander, Monica Axelson, Robert Palmer, Kristina Huebschwerlen, Julie Ann Montgomery and husband Mark, Brenda Dauner and husband Scott, Becky Bohnenkamp and Barbara Bohnenkamp; 12 great-grandchildren, Danny Wilton, Jr., Jacob Walker, Matthew and Justin Palmer, Sophia and Isabelle Pfander, Trevor Huebschwerlen, Cody and Jordan Montgomery, Douglas Bohnenkamp, and Samuel and Zoe Dauner ; brothers, Joseph Skalicky and wife Goodrum, Powers Lake, August Skalicky, Portal, ND, Phillip Skalicky and his wife Laura, Minot. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Her parents and one sister, Sophia Diaz, preceded her in death.

Frederick Wolhowe - - 1906 - 2000
Frederick Wolhowe, 94, 4821 Hwy 52 S., Minot, died Saturday, December 23, 2000 in a Minot hospital.
He was born on January 6, 1906, in rural Verendrye, ND, the son of Oliver and Sigrid (Gjellstad) Wolhowe. He began his schooling in Verendrye, then moved to Superior, WI, to live with his Aunt and Uncle. He attended and graduated from Superior High School. He then went to Luther College in Decorah, IA, and received his degree in English Education. He taught school for five years from 1929 to 1933 in Heimdal and Hillsboro, ND. He returned to the family farm in Verendrye, and farmed there until 1967. He moved to Minot and started Frontier Gardens Campground located east of Minot. He owned and operated the campground for the remainder of his life. He continued to live at the campground until the time of his death.
Fred had many different hobbies and interests. His main love involved the production and raising of gladiola and peony flowers. He grew over 5000 bulbs annually, nurturing and caring for them with great diligence. He was an avid collector of rare and early sheet music, with his main focus on Jazz and Classical compositions. His collection ranged from the early 1900's into the 1930's and beyond. He also had an eye for antique furniture and rare pieces.
He was a member of Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND, and was active in the Minot Garden Club.

Survivors: 11 nieces and nephews, Miles Wolhowe, Plattville, WI, Wayne Lee, Velva, Erik, Carl, and Mark Wolhowe, all of St. Paul, MN, Stella Ashley, Velva, Ellen Litman, Belpre, OH, Shirley McCarty, El Segundo, CA, Virginia Stearns, Clearwater, FL, Ann Miller, Billings, MT, and Cathy Reistrup, Washington, DC; one sister-in-law, Stella Wolhowe, St. Paul, MN, and numerous cousins survive. His parents, five brothers, Isaac, Harry, Walter, Otto, and Casper, three sisters, Susie Lee, Agnes Lahey, and Sigrid Wolhowe, and one niece, Norma Trentzsch, preceded him in death.
Funeral: Friday, December 29, 2000, 2:00 p.m. at Oak Valley Lutheran Church, Velva, ND
Visitation: Thursday, December 28, 2000 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Velva, ND

Lillian L. Wright - - 1919 - 2000
Lillian L. Wright, 81, 1000 2nd St. SE, Minot, died Wednesday, May 17, 2000 in a Minot medical center.
She was born April 4, 1919 in Alexandria, VA, the daughter of Elbert T. and Flora (LaCharm) Miller. She was raised and educated in the Alexandria area, and graduated from Alexandria High School in 1937. She married Joseph Brannon on May 3, 1938, in Alexandria, where they lived for many years. She worked at a WW II torpedo production plant in Alexandria for several years. She worked as a bookkeeper and accountant for J.C. Penney's and the Alexandria School Board District for many years. Her husband, Joseph died in October 1964. She was once married to John Wright. In 1991, she moved to Minot, and remained there until the time of her death.
She was a lifetime member of the Downtown Baptist Church, Alexandria, and enjoyed the special times spent with her family and grandchildren.
She is survived by one daughter, JoAnn Emmel and her husband Dennis, Sherwood, ND; three grandchildren, Debbie Erickson and her husband Al, Minot, ND, Jeff Emmel, Ft. Collins, CO, and Michele Nelson and her husband Mark, Kenmare, ND; six great-grandchildren, Melissa Saastad, Erika and Allyson Emmel, and Ashley, Clay, and Kylee Nelson; two sisters, Alberta Briscoe and her husband Frank, Orlando, FL and Edith Napier and her husband Emmett, Alexandria, VA. Her husband, Joseph, parents, and one sister, Evelyn preceded her in death.
Funeral: Saturday, May 20, 2000, 10:00 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church, Kenmare, ND
Visitation: Friends may sign the register one-hour prior to service time at the church
Burial: Saturday, May 20, 2000 at 12:30 p.m. at the Rosehill Cemetery, rural Norma, ND

Katherine "Kay" Wherley - - 1918 - 2001
Katherine "Kay" Wherley, 82, 1219 1st St. SE, Minot, died Wednesday, March 7, 2001, in a Minot medical center.
Katherine was born September 17, 1918, in Lyleton, Manitoba, Canada, the daughter of John and Loretta (Dishart) Speare. She came to North Dakota with her parents in 1922, and was raised and educated in Kenmare, graduating from Kenmare High School in 1936.
On June 1, 1938, she married Paul D. Wherley at Kenmare. Following their marriage the couple lived in several North Dakota towns, including Greene, Des Lacs, Hebron and Glen Ullin, where Paul taught and was superintendent of schools. They moved to Fargo for a time and on July 1, 1945, moved to Minot. Paul became part owner of Central Office Supply in Minot, where Katherine worked from 1962 to 1977, and was Paul's "right hand man." On July 1, 1977, they retired.
Following retirement they purchased an Airstream and joined the North Dakota Wally Byam Airstream Club. With the airstream club they spent one winter in Texas and one winter in Arizona. They also attended six national airstream rallies in different parts of the United States. Although they cut back in their travels, they remained active members of that organization.
She was a member of St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, and the Confraternity of Christian Mothers. Katherine enjoyed fishing, reading, knitting, and especially the company of her husband, Paul. They had been married 63 years and everything they did, they did together.
Survivors: husband, Paul D. Wherley, Minot; son, Don (Cindy) Speare, Grand Forks; three grandchildren, Naomi, Amanda Kay, and Jordan Speare; brothers, William (Olga) Speare, Rugby, and Harold Speare, Devils Lake; nephews, Barry (Diane) Speare, Killington, VT, Dave (Elaine) Speare, Grand Forks, Lorry (Adriana) Speare, Bowling Green, VA, Patrick Wherley, Aurora, CO, Michael (Jude) Wherley, Littleton, CO; nieces, Nancy (Tom) Sivak, Littleton, CO, and JoAnn (Dale) Beckman, New Salem, ND; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Mary Isabella Speare; brother, Leo Speare.
Funeral: Saturday, March 10, 2001, at 1:00 p.m., at St. Leo's Catholic Church, Minot, ND.
Visitation and rosary recitation: visitation will be Friday, from 2:00 to 8:30 p.m., with rosary recitation at 7:00 p.m., at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.

Lisette Myhre Young - - 1922 - 2000
Lisette Myhre Young, 78, 217 14th Ave. SE, Minot, ND, died Wednesday, November 29, 2000, in a Minot medical center.
She was born April 6, 1922, in Korgesaare, Estonia the daughter of Willem and Lena Napp. She was reared and educated in Tallinn where she graduated from high school and took her nurses training. She lived and worked in Berlin, Germany, for a short time before moving to Hanau, Germany, in 1944. She worked as a registered nurse for Hanau and Frankische hospitals.
Lisette came to the United States in 1949, and moved to Minot, ND, in March of that year. She married Miles L. Myhre on August 31, 1951, in Minot. He died on July 25, 1976, Minot. She was employed at Trinity Hospital as a registered nursing in the operating room until August of 1961. She then worked at St. Joseph's Hospital from September of 1961 until October of 1984, when she retired.
She married Blaine W. Young on September 2, 1984, in Minot.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church, Minot. She was also a member of the National and State Nurses association, the Operating Nurses Association, the Doll Club of Western North Dakota and the Northwest Historical Society, Minot.
Surviviors: husband, Blaine; sister, Magda Holm, Tallin, Estonia, several nieces and nephews also survive. She was preceded in death by her first husband, parents, brother Peter Napp and sisters Olga Randma and Erna Napp.
Funeral Service: Monday, December 4, 2000, at 10 a.m. at First Lutheran Church, Minot.
Visitation: Saturday and Sunday from Noon until 5 p.m. at the Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot.

Ardean Zahursky - - 1964 - 2000
Ardean G. Zahursky, 36, 32803 Hwy 83 South, Max, ND, died Sunday, March 19, 2000 at his home.
He was born into the loving family of Archie and Mavis (Helmers) Zahursky on February 14, 1964, in Minot, ND. He was raised and grew to be a man on the family farm north of Max. The farm was his one true love. He graduated from Max High School in the Class of 1982 and went on to complete a degree in carpentry at Bismarck Junior College which is now Bismarck State College. He then worked in Bismarck and Minneapolis before returning to the family farm. As he engaged in farming, he worked with his father at A.Z. Tax Service in Minot, for ten years.
He was a member of St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Max, ND, and served as treasurer on Rushville Township Board, Ward County.
He was an avid trapper and enjoyed the outdoors. He dedicated himself to working the land and nurturing its growth. He was a caring son, loving brother and wonderful uncle. He enjoyed his nieces and nephews, playing games with them, reading to them and watching them grow.
He will be greatly missed, but always remembered by his parents, Archie and Mavis Zahursky, Minot, ND; brother, Allan Zahursky and his wife Deb, Max, ND; sisters, Rochel Wagner and her husband Mark, Beulah, ND, Renae Jungling and her husband Lorell, Valley City, ND, and Anita Hoffman and her husband Greg, Bismarck, ND; also blessed to know him are nieces and nephews, Ericka, Dustin and Tanner Germain, Michael, Jacob and Jared Wagner, Ryne and Reid Jungling, and Alexis Hoffman; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Nellie Zahursky, and Pete and Minnie Helmers.
Funeral: Thursday, March 23, 2000 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthews Lutheran Church, Max, ND.
Visitation: Wednesday, March 22, 2000 from 9:00 a.m. until 8:30 p.m. at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot, ND.
Burial: Thursday, March 23, 2000 at 2:30 p.m. at Rosehill Memorial Park, Minot, ND.
Friends are invited to join the family at Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Minot, ND in the Fellowship Hall located at 3705 11th St. SW, Minot, following the graveside service.
