Charles Wood
Charles F. Wood, 81, of Pine Bluffs, Wyo., died August 2 at United Medical Center in Cheyenne. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Pine Bluffs.
He was born February 17, 1924, in Kimball to Ernest and Marjorie (Stuart) Wood. The family moved to the Carpenter and Egbert area in 1937. He graduated from Egbert High School in 1943.
In May 1954 he married Arlene Humphrey in Burns, Wyo. They had two children. She proceeded him in death in 1975.
Erma Schmidt
Erma Schmidt, 90, a longtime Kimball resident, died at the Kimball County Manor Aug. 6, 2005. Memorial services were Aug. 17, 2005 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating. Inurnment was held in the Kimball Cemetery. Memorials may be given to the Kimball County Manor. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Erma Schmidt was born December 27, 1914 in Dorchester, Neb., the youngest of five children born to Bert and Anna (Pisar) Palky. She was raised in Dorchester and attended Dorchester High School. After graduating from high school she attended college. She worked as a secretary for the First State Bank of Dorchester. She was married to George Schmidt in Wilbur, Neb., on August 14, 1944. They moved to Kimball and Erma was a bookkeeper for George in his farming and oil business. They enjoyed traveling the country as George was into competitive Horseshoe Pitching. George died on July 25, 1990. Erma remained in her home on Washington Street until August of 2000 at which time she moved to Kimball County Assisted Living complex. She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
Survivors include several nieces and nephews.
Mary Schuler
Mary Louise Schuler, 65, died in her home southwest of Redington, Neb. Sun., August 7, 2005. Her funeral will be at the First Presbyterian Church in Bridgeport, Neb. at 3 p.m. Fri. Aug. 12 with the Rev. Rick Parker and Rev. Ron Nuss-Warren and Speaker Nevill Razac officiating, following a private burial at the Redington Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Camp Rock Building Fund or the Panhandle Shrine Club’s Crippled Children Fund. Charles Beaver
Charles O. “Chuck” Beaver, 67, of Kimball died at his home on August 2, 2005. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5 at the Cantrell Funeral Home in Kimball. LeRoy Sanford and Carey Tsunemori will officiate. Cremation will be held after the service with burial at a later date. Friends may visit at the funeral home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. Memorial gifts may be made to the Lions Club Leader Dog Fund. Anna M. Keller
Former Kimball resident Anna M. Keller, 97, died July 28 in Lincoln, Neb. Her husband, the late Edward Keller, was pastor at the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball for 14 years.
Services were Saturday, July 30, at the Sheridan Lutheran Church in Lincoln. Butherus, Maser and Love Funeral Home in Lincoln was in charge of arrangements. Memorials have been established in her name for Tabitha Health Care Facility and the Sheridan Lutheran Church.
Kolleen Coleman
Kolleen Maxine Coleman, 70, of Gillette Wyo., passed away on Tuesday, June 28, 05, at her home. Memorial Services were Saturday at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Gillette with Sonja Brucklacher officiating.She was born on December 31, 1934, the daughter of Hans and Ruby (Snyder) Hansen in Kimball, Neb., where she was raised and educated. On April 21, 1955 Kolleen married Charles Ralph Coleman in Kimball, Nebraska.
Rosie M. Kenton
Rosie M. Kenton, 96, a longtime Kimball resident, died at Kimball County Manor on Wednesday, June 29, 2005. Funeral services were Friday, July 1, 2005, at Trinity United Methodist Church in Kimball with Reverend Roger Gillming officiating. A Rose service was preformed by the Truth Chapter #262 Order of the Eastern Star. Burial was July 2, 2005, in the Gibbon Cemetery in Gibbon, Neb. Memorials may be given to either the Trinity United Methodist Church or the Kimball County Manor. Cantrell Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

John Hershel "Jack" Holt, 61, of Harrisburg, passed away on his ranch last Tuesday, June 28, 2005.

Daniel H. Hurlbut, 43, of Denver, Colo., died June 15, 2005 in Denver. He was born October 28, 1961 in Kimball to Fred and Jean Hurlbut. Funeral Mass was held Mon., June 20 at St. Vincent De Paul Catholic Church in Denver.
Harold Darnall
Harold Oscar Darnall, 90, formerly of Kimball, passed away June 16, 2005. Funeral Services were June 21 at the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Scottsbluff, Neb. Interment
was at Creighton Valley Cemetery in Melbeta, Neb. Harold was born May 19, 1915 in Melbeta to Harry Darnall and Grace Billings. He was a World War II Veteran and decorated with a Purple Heart.

Dorothy Mae Calkins Halcomb Jennings, 90, a resident of Albuquerque, N.M. and step-mother of William Jennings of Kimball, passed away Monday, May 9, 2005.
James R. French
James French, 84, a native of Dix, died Oct. 15, 2005 in Tracy, Calif. A memorial service was Oct. 22 and internment was private.
Born in Dix on Sept. 21, 1921, he graduated from Chadron College and served as a navy communications officer in WWII, and participated in the liberation of Guam during the Pacific Campaign.
Cecilia Shandera
Cecilia DeWispelare Shandera, 102 and formerly of this area, died on Sat., October 21, 2005 at the United Medical Center in Cheyenne, Wyo. Funeral services were Oct. 26, at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Pine Bluffs, Wyo., with burial in the Pine Bluffs Cemetery.
She was born Jan. 15, 1903 at David City, Neb. the third of nine children of Joe and Eugenia Vervynck DeWispelare, Belgian immigrants who came to America in 1900.

Charley Ramsey, 54, of Dix died at his home Oct. 18, 2005.

He was born on February 7, 1951 in Borger, TX; the son of Gerold and Alicia (Adams) Ramsey. He moved with his family at an early age to Dix. He attended school in Kimball and Dix and graduated from the Dix High School. He was married to Dixie Ann Evans on Nov. 7, 1968 in Harrisburg.

Rollin Raleigh
Rollin L. Raleigh, 73 died August 6, 2005 in Lincoln, Neb. from complications of an incurable blood disease. He was the companion of Marge Evans, of Kimball, for 19 years.
He was cremated with inurnment Aug. 24 in Turlock Memorial Park.
He was born August 19, 1931 in Merced, Calif. to Gordon and Elizabeth Raleigh and the family later settled in Turlock, where Rollin graduated from high school in 1950. He attended Modesto Jr. College, receiving an Associate of Arts degree.

Victor “Vic” Schneider, 84, a lifetime Kimball resident died at the Kimball County Manor on Oct. 9, 2005. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. on Thurs., Oct. 13 at the First English Lutheran Church in Kimball with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. Burial will be in the Kimball Cemetery. Military graveside honors will be preformed by VFW Post 2243.
