Durango Martin Holaday, newborn son of Mark and Elizabeth "Liz" Holaday of Kimball, died Saturday, September 3, 2005 at the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Neb.

Janice Janicek, 76, of Meridian, Idaho, died Friday, September 9, 2005. A memorial service will be held today (Thursday) at 10 a.m. at The Chapel of the Chimes in Meridian.

Alma Sophia Mihm, of Kimball, died Sept. 11, 2005 at Kimball Health Services. She is the mother Linda Mihm, of Kimball, and had lived here with her daughter for two years.

Bernardine Perry
Bernardine Perry, 93 of Kimball, died September 9, 2005 at the Kimball County Manor.
She was born August 20, 1912 in Coffeeville, Kan., to Antonio and Herlinda (Ureta) DeVenti. She lived for a time in Colorado and moved to Kimball in 1928. She married Robert R. Perry on April 18, 1937. Bernie was a member of St. Hilda’s Episcopal Church of Kimball, the Truth Chapter 262 OES, the Pythian Sisters, and for many years served as a Campfire Girl Scout Leader.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, September 16, 2005 at the Cantrell Funeral Home with the Rev. Ed Newbury officiating. Interment

Clinton L. Shaw, 78, a lifelong Dix resident, died at his home in Dix Sept. 4. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Sidney with Military Graveside Honors. A luncheon for family and friends will be served at noon in the basement of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Kimball. Margaret M. Sonnie, 52, of Cheyenne, formerly of Banner County, died Monday, August 22, 2005 in Cheyenne after a long struggle with breast cancer. Richard E. "Dick" Moore
Dick Moore, 80 of Kimball, died August 16, 2005 at the Kimball Health Services. Dick was born December 29, 1924inCouncil Bluffs, Iowa. He was adopted by Verne and Gladys (Hallet) Moore. He was a lifelong resident of Kimball, though he lived for a brief time in California before he joined the Army. He returned to Kimball after Army service and married Mary Linn on March 24, 1946. He graduated from Kimball County High School in May 1946.
Dick worked for Arapahoe Pipeline for 10 years, and then became a mail carrier for 25 years. He was very active with the Trinity United Methodist Church, holding various jobs and offices. He was a member of the United Methodist Men’s group. He was also an umpire for baseball and softball, which was his true love and passion. Dick enjoyed his family very much, he also enjoyed a good game of golf.
Dick is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary of Kimball, his sons John and wife Suny Moore of Thornton, Colo.; Jim and wife Stella Moore of Houston, Tex.; Jack and wife Ruth Moore of Hastings; Dick Moore of Chadron.; His daughter Mary and husband Bob Jenner of North Platte; 13 Grandchildren and 6 Great-Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Dorothy Long, and a Grandson David Moore.

Caleb Aaron Berger was born on December 27, 2005 and entered into the eternal joy of his maker on the same day. Earl Cramer Cummings, Jr., of Boulder, Colo., father of Deb Crago of Kimball, died Sunday, Dec 11, 2005 in Boulder. He was 73. Survivors include his mother, of Boulder; daughter Deborah Cummings Crago of Kimball; son Doug Cummings of Mead, Colo.; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife and his father. Memorial Services were Dec. 30 at St. Stephens Episcopal Church in Longmont.

Josephine E. Johnston, 89, died December 28, 2005, at Valley View Rehabilitation and Care Center in Saratoga, Wyoming. Mass of the Resurrection was conducted January 3, 2006, at Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wheatland, Wyo., with Father Jan Santich and Father Robert Karnish as con-celebrants. Interment

Cheryl Ann Cox, 48, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2005. She is formerly of Kimball. She died at home following a courageous battle with cancer. Memorial services were Dec. 26, at the Church of the Indian Fellowship, Tacoma, WA. Burial will be at a later date in Indian Valley, ID. Leonard Schaeffer
The brother of Shirley Havice of Potter died Saturday. Leonard Ivan Schaeffer, 80 of Greeley, Colo. died Nov. 26, 2005 at Hospice and Palliative Care of Northern Colorado. He was born October 19, 1925 to Ivan Wayne and Daisy Mae (Campbell) Schaeffer in Elgin, Neb and raised on a farm. He served in the military as a paratrooper.
Joel Birner
Joel Birner, 73 of Sidney, died Nov. 19, 2005, near Albuquerque, N.M., en route to his home in Sidney for the holidays. He is the father of Tom Birner who is married to Cindy (Barrett) formerly of Kimball and owns Western Drug in Kimball.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Fri., Nov. 25, in the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Sidney. Burial will be in the Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation was Wed. until 8 p.m. at the Holechek Funeral Home in Sidney.
Memorials have been established to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, the Cheyenne County Community Center or the Memorial Health Center Foundation.
Jason Fegler
SSG Jason Allen Fegler, 24, was killed in action in Baghdad, Iraq on Friday, November 4, 2005. Funeral services were Nov. 12, 2005 at the Banner County School in Harrisburg. Chaplain George Perry officiated. Burial with full military honors followed at the Kimball Cemetery. Memorial gifts may be made to the Banner County Alumni Scholarship Fund in Jason’s name. Edward Russell Travis, 86, formerly of Dix, died November 9, 2005 at Memorial Health Center in Sidney. Funeral Services were November 12 in Light Memorial Presbyterian Church in Sidney with Rev. Myrtle Gendreau
Myrtle M. Gendreau, 86, a 16-year resident of Kimball, died Nov. 10, 2005 in Grand Junction, Colo. A service of remembrance was held Nov. 13 in Boulder. Callahan-Edfast Mortuary in Grand Junction is in charge of arrangements.
Jason Fegler
Staff Sergeant Jason Fegler, US Army, was killed in action in or near Baghdad, Iraq, on Nov. 4, 2005. He was 24. The Memorial Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Sat., Nov. 12 at Banner Co. High School in Harrisburg. Burial will be immediately following in Kimball. Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Fegler joined the Marine Corps after graduating from Banner County High School in 1999. He switched services to the US Army in January of this year to become a Special Forces Soldier.
Fegler is survived by his wife, Shianne (Smith) Fegler, US Navy, presently stationed in Virginia and formerly of Gering; a son Aiden, at home with his mother; mother Rita and step-father Eugene Snyder of Banner County; father Jim Fegler of Sierra Vista, Ariz.; grandparents, Ilo Fegler of Ogallala and Robert & Myrna Lee of Hay Springs; aunts, Judy (Greg) Allen of Ogallala, Ermadean (John) Haas of Mitchell, Linda Bradfield of Alliance, Carol (Phil) Amateis of Broadwater, Kathy (Clyde) Katen of Henderson, and Kristi (Bruce) Kutschara of Scottsbluff; great aunt Della (Merle) Hayward, of Hyannis; uncles Jerry (Brenda) Fegler of Kentucky, John (Helen) Fegler of Minnesota, Jack ( Terri) Fegler of Arizona, and Bruce (Beverly) Lee, of Hay Springs; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joy D. (Bradt) Linzy of Capistrano Beach, Calif., died Oct. 27, 2005. Cremation has taken place. A private memorial service was held at sunset, Nov. 4, 2005 in Pine Park, Calif. Memorials may be made to the donors choice.
She was born April 28, 1926 to Calvin and Nettie (Lee) Bradt at the farm home in Weld County, Colo. She attended Larkspur Elementary School in Colorado, and graduated from Kimball County High School in 1943. She was a former member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bushnell (now the Calvary United Methodist). She was employed in Kimball for several years, later moved to Kansas, and worked in Hutchinson.

Maxine Schneider, 86 of Kimball, died on Fri. Nov. 4, 2005 at the Kimball County Manor. A memorial service was Tues. Nov. 8 at the First English Lutheran Church with Pastor Dwayne Hunzeker officiating. A reception followed.
Cremation and a private family inurnment at the Kimball Cemetery took place. Memorials may be made to the Kimball School Foundation for Scholarships in care of Rollie Hager at the First National Bank, P.O. Box 670, Kimball, 69145.
