She retired as a laundry attendant for a cleaners at Fort Campbell.

Surviving are her husband, Oscar D.; a daughter, Jannie Crain of Cave City; four sons, Jerry of Bowling Green, Jackie Edward of Cadiz, Ivan A. of Madisonville and Ricky L. of Cerulean; two sisters, Emma Baker of Evansville and Mary Hopson of Canton; 18 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

OWENSBORO, Ky. Irene Cox Newman, 85, died Monday at Owensboro Mercy Health System.
She and her husband owned Commercial Printing Co., retiring after 35 years.
She was a member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday school class.
She enjoyed reading and University of Kentucky Wildcat and Kentucky Wesleyan Panther basketball.
Surviving are two sons, Robert B. of Owensboro and Sam C. of Highland, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Robert S., died in 1993.

CORYDON, Ky. The Rev. Vernon Courtney, 72, died Tuesday afternoon at his home.
He was a World War II Army veteran.

MOUNT CARMEL, Ill. W. Gene Guisewite, 62, died Monday of natural causes at his home.
He retired in 1997 as president and chief executive officer, and he continued to serve as chairman of Citizens Bank, formerly Bank of Mount Carmel. He worked for the Bank of Mount Carmel for 30 years and was president for the past 15 years.
He was a member of Celebration Christian Center and Kiwanis Club.
He was an Army Reserve veteran.
Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Wanda (Tice); two sons, Jeff and Mike, both of Mount Carmel; his parents, Annalea and Delmar Guisewite of Mount Carmel; a brother, Edward of Norco, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Derek, Amanda, Reilly and Tucker Guisewite.

Charles Barker
Charles Barker, of Evansville, died March 2, 2006, at his home after a short illness.
Charles was born on July 2, 1946, to Lenora and Charles Henry Barker in Mount Vernon, Ind.
Mr. Barker had been employed at General Foods for 15 years, until it closed, and later worked at Whirlpool Corporation for 13 years.He was a life member of AmVets 84, where he served as past Post Commander, Judge Advocate and Bar Manager.He was also a Past Third District Commander of Indiana, a life member of VFW Post 1114 and the Riverbend Association.He was a proud veteran and served his country in Vietnam.
He was a devoted husband, father and Papaw.He loved his family and friends and anyone who knew him knew they were loved.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sharon (Cooper) Barker; two daughters, Lana Hulsman and her fiancEe, Perry Merrill, Erica Mitchell, both of Evansville; and his son, Robert Barker, of Evansville; three granddaughters, Casey Hulsman, Aubrey Mitchell and Alicia Mitchell; his loving aunt who raised him, Bessie Robbins; his two brothers, Dennis Barker and Marty Barker and his wife, Mary Sue; and three sisters, Yolanda Bilodeau and her husband, Paul, Linda Beck and her husband, Jerry, and Lisa Barker.A sister-in-law, Vickie Chamberlain and her husband, Darryl, and several nieces and nephews also survive Mr. Barker.
Charles is also survived by Carla Hurt, Trish York, Bruce Robbins, Ethel Hill, Kathy Robbins, Robin Robb and Tracie Fitzgerald, whom he was raised with and are his brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, 2006, at Pierre Funeral Home, Marine Corps League 1090 Commander Gene Grigsby and Chaplain Tom Kramer officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, where the Marine Corps Honor Guard and the AmVets Post 84 Honor Guard will conduct military rites.

Joan retired from Whirlpool in 1998. She was a member of Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. She was an Elvis fan and enjoyed visiting Graceland.

Carolyn 'Sue' Kyte
Carolyn "Sue" Kyte, 57, of Evansville, died Wed-nesday, March 1, 2006, at Dea-coness Gateway Hospital.
Sue was a 1967 gradu-ate of Reitz High School and a graduate of Ivy Tech. She was an administrative clerk for Teamsters Local No. 215.
Sue was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed her frequent trips to east Tennessee. Last summer, she enjoyed her first trip to Florida with her niece, Carol Wilson.
She enjoyed watching "One Life To Live" daily and "Desperate Housewives" on Sundays with Eveyln, Seth, and Jacob.
Sue was a 10-year breast cancer survivor and lived each day to the fullest.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse and Idell Young; sister, JoAnn Page; and brother, Bob Young.
Sue is survived by her husband of 38 years, Roger Kyte of Evansville; son, Kenny Kyte and wife, Evelyn of Evansville; grandsons, Seth and Jacob Kyte; brother, Tom Young and wife, Linda of Newburgh; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and one great-great-niece; mother-in-law, Frances Baker; brother-in-law, Tony Kyte and wife, Marsha; and sister-in-law, Kathy Kyte and friend, Laura.

Judith Pugh
Judith Rae (Ward) Pugh, 62, of Pimento, went to be with the Lord at Terre Haute Regional Hospital at 9:07 a.m. Thursday, March 2, 2006. Our Lord needed a craft angel in heaven, and called her home.
Born in Evansville on April 26, 1943, she was the daughter of Ernest L. and Faye Cheaunalt) Snodgrass. She was a homemaker who was a member of the Early Riser on-line Craft Group. She also thoroughly enjoyed shopping at Wal-Mart, yard sales and Friday nights at Smith's Auctions at Prairie Creek. She attended Pimento United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Blackhawk Community Church.
Her first husband, Roscoe Ward, preceded her in death on April 18, 1991.
Survivors include her husband, Delmar Pugh. There are two sons, Mitchell Ward and his wife Jeannie and David Ward; one daughter, Lisa Winkler and her husband Stacy; two stepchildren, Sheryl Keyes and husband Mike, and Steven Pugh; one brother, Bob Snodgrass and his wife Donna; and 10 grandchildren; Raymond Ward, Jennifer Ward, Jessica Ward, Matt Keyes, Josh Ward, Naomi Ward, Dakota Winkler, Katie Keyes, Jason Keyes and Keely Ward. Madison Keyes is her only great-grandchild.

Charles Edward Rogers
Charles Edward Rogers, 82, of Newburgh, departed this life to be with his Lord on March 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Medical CenTer.
He was a member of Mount Olive General Baptist Church in Newburgh.
Born along the Ohio River on a houseboat, "Charlie" Rogers was a lifelong resident of Newburgh.
He attended Newburgh High School until age 17, when he went to work to support his family.
Charlie served his country honorably in the U.S. Army during World War II.He was a veteran of the European Theater, traveling to England, France, Belgium, Luxemburg, and Germany.
Upon his return home, Charlie finished his education.
Later in life, he kept in touch with his comrades in veterans groups of the 65th Signal Battalion and the 17th Signal Operations Battalion.
A jack-of-all-trades, he worked as a carpenter, photographer and consummate salesman.
As a local entrepreneur, he owned and operated Crown Studios, Action Fundraising, and The Rogers Company of Newburgh Inc.
Charlie enjoyed his work, "horse trading," spending time with his family, making furniture and collecting model cars.
Charles E. Rogers was preceded in death by his wives, Ada "Lucille" Rains Rogers and Naomi Faught Rogers; a brother, Leroy Joseph; and son, Steven A. Pendley.

Ester May Allen Romine, of Indianapolis, formerly of Evansville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Westminster Village North in Indianapolis, Ind.
She was the widow of James C. Romine.
Ester was born on May 30, 1915, in Laclede County, Mo., the 13th child of Thomas and Anna Allen.She, her husband, and daughter moved to Evansville in 1947 from St. Louis, Mo.In 2002, Mrs. Romine moved to Westminster Village North, a retirement community in Indianapolis, Ind., to be near her daughter, Elizabeth Ann Romine Coffey, son-in-law, William and grandsons, Arthur and wife, Therese, and Christopher and wife, Ann.She is also survived by her five great-grandchildren, Grace, William, Sam, David, and Olivia Coffey.
Mrs. Romine was a long-time member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, serving as the director of the Altar Guild for 17 years.She was past worthy matron of OES 555.She was also a member of a Home Ec/Friendship Club for moe than 40 years.Her many hobbies included sewing and gardening.

Theodore O. Schmitt
Theodore O. Schmitt, age 81, of Boonville, formerly of Newburgh, and a lifetime resident of Warrick County, passed away Thursday, March 2, 2006, at St. Mary's Warrick Hospital.
Ted was born May 4, 1924, in Newburgh, to Charles and Sophia (Herr) Schmitt. He was baptized at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. He served in the United States Army during World War II, overseas in Japan.
Ted was a retired farmer and also worked some 14 years at the Evansville Stockyards. After his retirement, he enjoyed going to farm auctions as a pastime, as well as spending time with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and his sister, Frances Barnett, and his brother, Charles Schmitt Jr.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Ida (Turley) Schmitt of Boonville; three daughters, Marjorie Wargel and her spouse, Ronald of Mt. Vernon, Betty Roedel of Chandler, and Kathy Dassel and her spouse, Bob of Newburgh; five grandchildren, Jill and Amy Roedel, Matthew Wargel, and Aaron and Jacob Dassel; and nieces and nephews.

Richard worked for Anderson Austin News Company for the last nine years, and previously worked for Brake Supply Company.He loved woodworking and was currently working on his family's genealogy.

ROCKPORT Dennis "Doc"Holliday, 54, of Rockport passed away Thursday March 2, 2006, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital.
Doc was born in Parkersburg, W.Va., onOctober 17, 1951, to the late Afton and Mary (Freshwater) Holliday.
Doc was a boilermaker for 15 years, and worked in the maintenance department for 19 years at AEP in Rockport, Ind. He was secretary of the Rockport Masonic Lodge 112, a member of Scottish Rite, secretary for the Temple Club, Vice President of Spencer County Shrine Club, a driver for the Hadi Temple hospital staff, first president of the Country Ridge Homeowners Association and a member ofTrinity Episcopal Church in Owensboro, Ky.
Doc is survived by his wife, Beckie; a daughter, Beth Ann Holliday of Fla.; a brother, Billy Joe Holliday of W.Va.; a half sister, Patty Wells of W.Va.; and best friend, Jezzebell.
Services are 12 p..m. Monday, March 6, 2006, at the Boultinghouse Funeral Home in Rockport, Ind., with Father Pat Carrol officiating. Burial is in Sunset Hill Cemetery in Rockport, Ind. Shrine and Masonic memorial service is at 7 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, at the funeral home.
Visitation is from 1 to 8 p.m. Saturday, March 4, 2006, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2006, and 8 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hadi Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital Staff Transportation Fund.
Ernie Marlow
VINCENNES Ernie Ray Marlow, 81, died Thursday, March 2, 2006, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
He was a World War II Navy veteran and a retired operating engineer for Green Construction and Rogers Group.
Surviving are his daughter, Ernestine Berry; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Memorial services are 4 p.m. today at Duesterberg-Fredrick Funeral Home. His body has been donated to the Indiana University School of Medicine.
Visitation is 2 p.m. to service at the funeral home.
