Richard Hallett
Richard William Hallett, 82, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital.
He was past master of Niagara Frontier Lodge 132 in Niagara Falls, N.Y., member of Eastern Star 183 in Marion, Iowa, Theta XI Fraternity, and was a volunteer at the Madison State Hospital.
He was past deacon and treasurer of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church in Niagara Falls.
Surviving are two daughters, Anne H. of Coal Valley, Ill., and Barbara H. of Evansville; two sisters, Erma Jaeckle and Marian Lancaster, both of St. Petersburg, Fla.; and two grandchildren, Christopher James and Christiane Michael.
His wife, Christine J., died in 1974.
Private services were held at Alexander Funeral Home North Chapel, the Rev. James T. Heady officiated, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park.

Mildred E. “Sis” Cox, 92, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at the McCurdy Healthcare Center.
She was a member of Forest Avenue Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Barbara Reinert of Stockton, Calif.; a son and daughter-in-law who cared for her, Darrell and Betty Jones of Evansville; a sister, Avenelle Brinkley of Franklin, Ind.; nine grandchildren, James, John, Kelly and David Farrel, Rick, Mike and Candy Jones, Sherri Musgrave and Kathy Moss; great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Homer Douglas, preceded her in death.

Anna Laura Wickware Higgins, 66, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Deaconess Hospital of heart failure.
She had worked in the dietary department at St. Mary’s Medical Center.
She was a member of the Zion Missionary Baptist Church and the usher board. She also attended Memorial Baptist Church.
She was a 1952 graduate of Lincoln High School.
Surviving are two daughters, Sharon Covington of Evansville and Stacey McGowan of St. Louis; two sons, Michael and Gregory Wickware, both of Evansville; and four grandchildren, Korey Shelby, Vincent and Malcolm Wickware and Jourdyn Lee-Ann Brooks.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Memorial Baptist Church, the Rev. Adrian Brooks officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Sharon Sunderman
Sharon S. Sunderman, 45, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 11, at Select Specialty Hospital of Evansville, from complications of Addison’s disease.
She was a bookkeeper for Apex Tool & Die and RuVan.
Surviving are her mother, Wilma Sunderman of Evansville; a sister, Julie Kissel of Evansville; and a niece and nephew.
Private services will be Saturday, with burial in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery.

HAZLETON, Ind. — Corissa B. McGuyer, 15 months old, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis from complication of open heart surgery.
Surviving are her mother, Amy Smith of Hazleton; her father, Thurman McGuyer II of Hazleton; a sister, Eden Marie Sullivan at home; grandparents, Debby Smith, Thurman and Rita McGuyer, and Charles Smith and companion Tammy Fetcher; and great-grandparents.

Merle Moore Sr.
BRUCEVILLE, Ind. — Merle Eugene Moore Sr., 74, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes. He had cancer.
He retired as the owner and operator of a service station in Vincennes.
He was a World War II Marine veteran.
He was a member of the American Legion, Veterans of Foreign Wars and 40 & 8, all of Vincennes.
He had attended Oaktown High School.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn Sue; a stepdaughter, Ginger Swan of Vincennes; a sister, Cleda Rickard of Oaktown; two sons, Merle E. Jr. of Bicknell and Lonnie of Bruceville; a stepson, Michael Doerner of Vincennes; three grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren; and nephews.
His first wife, Mary E. (Mengedoht), died in 1977.
Services will be at 2 p.m. EST Sunday at the Gordon E. Utt Oaktown Chapel, with burial in Mariah Creek Cemetery.

MONTGOMERY, Ind. — Rose Anna Graber, 85, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Hospital.
She was a member of Fairhaven Fellowship.
Surviving are her husband, Peter W.; seven daughters, Mary Katherine Wagler-Cross Hill, S.C., Lydiann Mullett of Westcliffe, Colo., Pauline Stoltzfus of Uniontown, Ohio, Roselyn Coblentz of Millersburg, Ohio, Shirley Yoder of Montgomery, Beverly Joan Yoder of Washington and Karen Lynn Graber of Glendale; seven sons, H. Donald and Dale, both of Fort Wayne, Mervin S. and Richard M., all of Washington, and Alvis E., Paul and Gordon Ray, all of Montgomery; two sisters, Barbara Bontrager and Elizabeth Swartzentruber, both of Montgomery; 52 grandchildren; 65 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Leon.

OTWELL, Ind. — Marie P. Loveless, 84, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at the Huntingburg Convalescent Center.

PROVIDENCE, Ky. — Dixie Ellen Guess, 97, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at the Bradford Square Nursing Home in Frankfort.
She had been in retail sales.
She was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church and the church women’s organization.
Surviving are a daughter, Maxine Waller of Haines City, Fla.; two sisters, Freddie Lamb of Paducah and Bonnie Goodrum of Allen Park; five grandchildren; six great- grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Her husband, Allie Frazier Guess, and two sons, Carroll Dale and Arnold Frazier Guess, preceded her in death.

WEST SALEM, Ill. — Sarah E. “Betty” Farris Dodson, 93, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Burgin Manor in Olney of heart failure.
She had been a registered nurse at Webber Medical Clinic in Olney and was the first administrator for the West Salem Nursing Home.
Surviving are a sister, Martha Pool of Olney; three brothers, Frank and L.D. Rothrock, both of Parkersburg, and Jonas Rothrock of West Salem; and two stepgrandchildren.
Her first husband, Farrell Farris, died in 1960, her second, Benjamin “Frank” Dodson, died in 1981 and a son, William Farrell Farris preceded her in death.

STONEFORT, Ill. — Clarence E. Fitzgerald, 61, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at the Harrisburg Medical Center of cancer.
He retired as a construction worker.
He attended the Ozark Pentecostal Church.

MCLEANSBORO, Ill. — Clyde Emory Hunter, 66, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at Hamilton Memorial Hospital. He had a heart condition.
He retired as a meat inspector for Illinois.
He attended the First General Baptist Church.
He coached summer softball and Little League programs in Hamilton County and had played softball for many years.
Surviving are his wife, Estell; a daughter, Debbie Johnson of McLeansboro; two granddaughters, Jamie and Kristie Johnson; and nieces.

Edward “Sonny” Wills, 64, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of heart failure.
He was a 1955 graduate of Lincoln High School, where he played basketball, football and competed in track.
He was a retired truck driver and an Air Force veteran.
He was a member of Zion Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Carolyn; three daughters, Soyna King of Evansville and Darlene and Carlen Wills, both of Atlanta; a stepdaughter, Yvette Freeman of Indianapolis; two sons, Roman of Evansville and Tyray of Los Angeles; four stepsons, Kevin, Brian, Timothy and Darnell Moss, all of Indianapolis; two sisters, Irene Martin of Evansville and Dorothy Stith of Tulsa, Okla.; three brothers, Roy of Carson, Calif., J.R. of Bloomington and Hurley of Evansville; 18 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

Raymond Compton
Raymond L. Compton, 53, of Evansville, died Wednesday, Nov. 10, 1999, at St. Mary’s Medical Center of lung complications.
He was a 1964 graduate of Boonville High School.
He was an Army veteran, serving as a medic, and worked at Alcoa Warrick Operations for 31 years.
Surviving are his wife, Malinda of Evansville; a daughter, Wendy Compton of Evansville; two sons, Keith and Christopher, both of Evansville; his mother, Evelyn Jones of Evansville; three sisters, Brenda Sparks and Laura Davis, both of Evansville, and Lois Merriweathers of Denver; two brothers, Joe Curtis and Rodney Compton, both of Evansville; and a granddaughter, MaHaley.

Kenneth Tindle
Kenneth Norman Tindle, 77, formerly of Evansville, died Monday, Nov. 8, 1999, in Reno, Nev.
He retired from Prince George County Health Department in Cheverly, Md., where he was Director of Personnel Services.
He was an Air Force veteran, having served as a Master Navigator in World War II, flying with the “Jolly Rogers” bomb squadron. He also served in the Korean War as a member of the 13th bomb squadron, known as the “Grim Reapers.” He was shot down and wounded in the South China Sea and received the Purple Heart, the Distinguished Flying Cross and eight Oak Leaf Clusters.
He had owned and helped to found Atlantic Auto.
He played the trumpet with the Bury Saint Edmunds Orchestra in England.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Aileen Teresa; three daughters, Teresa Brunson and Kate Tindle, both of Virginia, and Christina Louise Chapman of Colorado; two sons, Michael David of Virginia and Kenneth Robert of Maryland; and seven grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Frances Anne.
Memorial services were held at Saint Therese of the Little Flower Catholic Church in Reno.
Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. Monday in Arlington National Cemetery.
Mark Dillon
Mark Wayne Dillon, 33, of Warren, Ohio, formerly of Evansville, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, of injuries suffered in an automobile accident in Warren.
Surviving are his wife, Dorita; a daughter, Chelsea Dillon at home; a son, Corey at home; a stepson, Jimmy at home; his parents, Terry R. and Connie Dillon of Evansville; a sister Terri Dillon of Evansville; and two brothers, Phillip and Russell, both of Evansville.

Loran Shelton
Loran A. Shelton, 97, of Evansville, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at St. Mary’s Health Care Services/Welborn Campus.
He worked at Faultless Caster for 53 years as a tool and die set-up man.
He was a member of Terrace Park General Baptist Church, where he served as deacon, sang in the choir for 25 years and helped with maintenance, repairs and groundskeeping along with his late brother, Earl.
He was an amateur artist and enjoyed gardening, yard sales and antique dish and coin collecting.
Surviving are nieces and nephews; and his companion and caretaker, Sarah W. Bess of Evansville.
His wife, Verna (Cohoon), died in 1981.

He was a member of Printing Pressman’s Local 117 and Cursillo 14.

BICKNELL, Ind. — Virginia Mae Goyer, 78, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Good Samaritan Hospital.
She retired in 1985 from the housekeeping department of Good Samaritan Hospital.
She attended Word of Life Church and was a member of Bicknell Senior Citizens.
Surviving are two daughters, Beverly A. Goyer of Vincennes and Debbie (Goyer) Albertson of Plainville; a sister, Norma Wetzel of Parker, Colo.; five granddaughters; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell W.

TENNYSON, Ind. — Raymond J. Metcalf, 80, died Friday, Nov. 12, 1999, at St. Mary’s Warrick Hospital in Boonville.
He was a farmer.
He was a member of St. Clement Catholic Church, where he served as an usher and on the finance committee. He was also a member of Boonville Elks 1180, Knights of Columbus Boonville Council 10257, Warrick County Farm Bureau, Cattleman’s Association, Indiana Pork Producers and Purdue Greener Pastures Association.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Helen; two daughters, Judy Ashley of Boonville and Janice Fuchs of Evansville; two sisters, Helen Entrican and Lucille Martin, both of Louisville; a brother, Louis of Evansville; four grandchildren, Kellie Nicholson, Jason Ashley, Lora Hines and Staci Goller; and four great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 9:45 a.m. Monday at Bradley Colonial Chapel, continuing at 10 a.m. at St. Clement Catholic Church, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Evansville.

OWENSBORO, Ky. — Wilda “Deanie” (Buskill) Faulkner, 66, died Thursday, Nov. 11, 1999, at Owensboro Mercy Health System of a heart attack.
She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Surviving are her husband, James L.; a stepson, Darren Faulkner of Owensboro; four brothers, Lewis Ray Buskill of Drakesboro, Milton H. Buskill of Owensboro, Michael R. Buskill of Philpot and Charles R. Buskill of Elizabethtown; and nieces and nephews.
