She attended Lockyear Business College and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Ladies Auxiliary and Eastern Star.
Surviving are her husband, Roy; a daughter, Margaret Marks of Elkins Park, Pa.; a son, Kenneth of Orange Park, Fla.; a sister, Margaret Young of Rockford, Ill.; and two grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Colvin Funeral Home, with burial in Maple Hill Cemetery.

PRINCETON, Ky. — Hewlett Hall, 94, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Caldwell County Hospital.
He had been a farmer and was a member of the Blue Spring Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Joyce Gilkey of Caldwell County; three sons, Kenneth of Alton, Ill., and Lawrence and Lucien “Bob,” both of Elizabethtown; a brother, Reginald of Cadiz; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. His wife, Mary (Larkins) died in 1998.

J.C. Sizemore
SLAUGHTERS, Ky. — J.C. Sizemore, 73, died, Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Madisonville Regional Medical Center of complications of kidney failure.
He retired from Lee King Service Center in Owensboro. He was a member of Mount Gilead General Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy (McGee); a daughter, Marietta Taylor of Calhoun; a stepdaughter, Marilyn Roe of Burton, S.C.; a son, Terry Lee of Monon, Ind.; two stepson, Dennis Kirkman of Littleton, Colo., and Gerald Kirkman of Beaufort, S.C.; his mother, Yettie Husky Sizemore of Slaughters; a sister, Glenda Johnson of Chandler, Ind.; a brother, Jerald Sizemore of Evansville; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Morene Gipson Michael, 82, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, in Wayne, Mich. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Surviving are four sons, Wayne and James Gipson, both of of Taylor, Mich., Doyle of Ypsilanti, Mich., and Coletta Ray of Westland, Mich.; two sisters, Anna Lee Dame and Loretta James, both of Madisonville; two brothers, William Gunn of Madisonville and George Gunn of Flint, Mich.; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. Her husband, Herman, died in 1975.

HENDERSON, Ky. — James E. Easley, 91, died Tuesday, Jan. 25, 2000, at his home.
He retired as a farmer.
He was a member and sang in the choir at the St. Matthew’s C.M.E. Church in Cumberland City, Tenn.
Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Jacqueline (Gant); six daughters, Deborah Walker, Paulette Smith, Annette Saunders, Twana Easley and Margaret Smith, all of Henderson and Pauline Kendry of Indianapolis; three sisters, Mary Kizer of Erin, Tenn., Pauline Pachman of California, and Willine Austine of Dover, Tenn.; two brothers, William of California and the Rev. Bennie of Clarksville, Tenn.; and 23 grandchildren.

HENDERSON, Ky. — Margaret Louise Bishop, 81, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, at Methodist Hospital.
She was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Janie Gibbs of Henderson and Judy Smith of Smith Mills; four sons, Dr. Donald of Plano, Texas, Glenn and Garry A., both of Henderson and Dr. Larry C. of Newburgh; a sister, Mary Frances Duncan of Henderson; a brother, Charles Blanford of Cairo; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Her husband, A.G., died in 1997.

Marion, Ky. — Cloyd E. Westfall, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Crittenden County Convalescent Center. He was a member of Marion Church of God.

LAWRENCEVILLE, Ill. — Gentry Wright, 89, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at the Bethesda-Dilworth Nursing Home in St. Louis.
He was a retail merchant.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, Masons and Elks for more than 50 years.
Surviving are his wife, Marian (Osborn); a son, Richard Gentry Wright of St. Louis; and three granddaughters.

HARRISBURG, Ill. — Linda Darlene Peeples, 49, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at Fountainview Nursing Home. She had been disabled.

EQUALITY, Ill. — Mark E. Wargel, 38, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, in a mining accident at the White County Coal Corp.’s Pattiki Mine south of Carmi. He was a coal miner and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
Surviving are his wife, Karen; a daughter, Jordan Wargel of Equality; a son, Zachary of Equality; his parents, John A. and Judy Wargel of Equality; two sisters, Cindy Gross of Equality and Sherrie Watson of Harrisburg; two brothers, Jeff of Equality and Tim of Evansville; grandparents, Rachel Wargel and Evelyn and Bob Forsythe.

GALATIA, Ill. — Georgiana R. Patterson, 54, died Wednesday, Jan. 26, 2000, at her home of an apparent heart attack.
She had been a billing clerk for the Rural Electric Association and a substitute rural mail carrier.
Surviving are her husband, Loy Neal Sr.; three daughters, Deborah Lynn Mings of Broughton, Lynn Anne Wilkerson of Athens, Ga., and Anne Marie Eisenhauer of Marion; a son, Loy Neal Jr. of Edwardsville; a sister, Lilly Hall of Salvisa, Ky.; two brothers, Stanley C. SHAWNEETOWN, Ill. — Lena Morse, 78, died Thursday, Jan. 27, 2000, in Carbondale Memorial Hospital.
She was Baptist.

Ann Carson
Ann Greene Grimsley Carson, 84, of Evansville, died Sunday, Jan. 30, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She spent her formative years in Paris, where her father managed Swift and Co. She spoke French fluently and acquired a zeal for European history.
She was a graduate of Indiana University and a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma Sorority.
She became the third woman in Evansville to earn a private pilot’s license. She and her husband co-piloted a single engine plane on a month-long wedding trip to Mexico and Guatemala in 1941.
She was a volunteer with the Junior League, Visiting Nurse Association, Evansville Blind Association and the American Cancer Society and supported The Reading Carrel. She was on the boards of the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra, Evansville Museum, Willard Library and Reitz Home.
She was a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church.
She was a member of the New Century Club, Evansville Country Club and the Kennel Club.
Surviving are four daughters, Ruth-Anne C. Cooper of St. Louis, Joan G. Carson of Atlanta, Elizabeth C. “Betsy” Becker of Evansville and Sarah D. Carson of New York City; two sons, William A. II of Memphis, Tenn., and Christopher S. “Kit” of Atlanta; 19 grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.
Her husband, Ellis A. Carson, died in 1984.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, the Rev. Jack Durcholz officiating, with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery.

Madalene M. Oliker, 89, of Evansville, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
She had been a teacher in New Castle, Pa. She and her husband, Jerry, who died in 1986, owned Oliker Brothers Men’s Clothing Store in Aliquippa, Pa., before moving to Evansville in 1978.
Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law who cared for her, Stephen and Carol Oliker of Evansville; a brother, Ted Marlin of New Castle; three grandchildren, David and Robert Oliker and Diane Baldessari; a great-granddaughter; and nieces and nephews.

William J. King, 84, of Evansville, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at his home.
He had been a conductor with the L&N Railroad.
He was a World War II Army veteran.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 748 and Eagles 427.
He attended Webb’s Chapel Methodist Church near McLeansboro, Ill.
Surviving are two sons, Steve of Elverta, Calif., and Stan of Evansville; a sister, Eleanor Gunter of Metamora, Ill.; a brother, Gene of Vista, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Shane, Jada and Rebecca King and Shannon Hoffman.
His wife, Matrona “Bobbie” (Davis), died in 1996.

Lola Land, 78, of Evansville, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital from complications of cancer.
She and her late husband, William R., who died in 1971, operated Land Insurance Agency.
Surviving are three sons, Terry R. of Cambridge, Ontario, Canada, William of Evansville and Steven of Denver; four grandchildren, Robert, Michele and Lori Land and Nikki Schooler; and a great-grandchild.

PRINCETON, Ind. — Rosetta I. Ames, 65, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville of cancer.
She had worked as a certified nursing assistant at Gibson General Hospital for nine years and at Holiday Manor Nursing Home for nine years.
She was a former board member and taught Sunday school at the First Church of the Nazarene and a member of the Ladies Fellowship.
Surviving are her husband of 45 years, the Rev. Laverne Ames; two daughters, Wanda Sturgeon of Winter Springs, Fla., and Dawn Perry of Patoka; two sisters, Marian Maron of Ovid, Mich., and Rebecca Thayer of St. Johns, Mich.; and a brother, Rolland Rathbun of St. Johns.
A daughter, Valerie Ames, died in 1972.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at the First Church of the Nazarene in Princeton, with burial Saturday in St. Johns.

GRANDVIEW, Ind. — Dietrich O. “Dede” Holst, 71, died Monday, Jan. 31, 2000, at St. Mary’s Warrick in Boonville from heart failure.
He had been a factory worker.
He was a member of Bethel Christian Center in Rio and formerly attended Salem United Church of Christ.
He was a member of the Cattleman’s Breeders Association, Delaware Masonic Lodge and Rockport Eastern Star.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy May (Isabell); five daughters, Carolyn Miller and Marilyn Hopf, both of Huntingburg, Rebecca Reckelhoff of St. Anthony, Diane Bush of Baytown, Texas, and Denise Holst of Holland, Ind.; three stepdaughters, Dianna English and Deborah Flanagan, both of Kansas City, Kan., and Barbara Faye Lankford of Bonner Springs, Kan.; a son, Terry of Baytown; a sister, Marie Gallegos of Tucson, Ariz.; a brother, Albert of Huntingburg; nine grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; and six stepgreat-grandchildren.
His first wife, Rosemarian (Harris) died in 1990.

PRINCETON, Ind. — Helen M. Aiken, 81, died Tuesday, Feb. 1, 2000, at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.
She had been the manager for the Midland Heights Apartments in Princeton, formerly worked as office manager for the Hoosier Insurance Agency and had been the Gibson County secretary/treasurer for the March of Dimes.
She was a member of the Hillside United Methodist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mary Beth Smith of Princeton; a son, Bill of Springfield, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Tami, Danny Jr., David and Derek Smith and Bill, Neal and Abby Aiken; and four great-grandchildren.
Her husband, William, died in 1957.

Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Curtis; a daughter, Susan Lautner of Santa Claus; two sons, Eric of West Lafayette and Chris of Santa Claus; three sisters, Rita Schroeder of rural Cannelton, her twin sister, Carolyn Adkins of Tell City and Mary Raaf of Evansville; and a brother, John Paul Luecke of New Boston.
Services will be at 10 a.m. EST Thursday at St. John Chrysostom Church, with burial in the church cemetery.
