Mr. Gary F. Griffin Jr., 38 of Panama City, passed away Monday, March 07, 2005 in Panama City. Mr. Griffin was born in Perry, Florida and had lived in Panama City for the past several years and was a member of the Gospel Lighthouse Pentecostal Church in Cedar Grove.

Mrs. Evelyn Brooms McDaniel, 81 of Biloxi, passed away Wednesday, August 2, in Biloxi. Mrs. McDaniel was born in Coffee County, Alabama and was a long time resident of Bristol, Florida before moving to Biloxi with her son in 1993.

Mrs. Mary Arrant, 80, of Blountstown, Florida, passed away Sunday, July 23, 2006, in Blountstown. Mrs. Arrant was born in Pocahontas, Tennessee, and had lived in Blountstown since 1973 she was a homemaker.

Mrs. Joyce Lenora Bateman, 68 of Kinard, FL passed away Sunday, July 16, 2006 in her home. Mrs. Bateman was born in Fort Myers, Florida and had lived in Marathon, Florida for most of her life. She had moved to Kinard, FL in March after retirement as a Pharmacy Technician for CVS Pharmacy in Marathon. Joyce was of the Catholic faith and a member of the San Pablo Catholic Church in Marathon.

Mr. George Norris Peddie, 89 of Bristol passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2006 in Panama City, FL. He had lived in Liberty county all of his life. Mr. Peddie was a carpenter and a veteran, having served in the United States Air Force during World War II. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Womble Peddie and one son, Terry Allen Peddie.

Mr. Huey Pierce Brantley, 67 of Bristol, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2006 in Blountstown. Mr. Brantley was born in Waukeenah, Florida and had lived in Liberty County since 1972. Huey had worked for the City of Tallahassee and had done fencing on the side for 19 years before retiring from the city and operating Brantley Fencing full time.
He was preceded in death by his parents William Brantley and his mother Thelma Fain, a brother, Franklin Brantley and a sister, Iris Taff

Mr. E. Clyatte Strawn, 89 of Blountstown, passed away Monday, June 19, 2006 in Blountstown. Mr. Strawn was born in Boyd, Florida and had lived in Blountstown for many years. Clyatte graduated from Leon High School in 1938 where he excelled in athletics playing on the State Championship Football team. He also played baseball in Blountstown for the Blountstown Buccaneers. Clyatte was a very active member of the Gateway Baptist Church since 1968 serving as a Deacon and Church Training Director. He served in the Masonic Lodge for 60 years where he was a 32nd degree Mason. Clyatte also was a member of the Order of Eastern Star for 50 years and was a charter member of the Calhoun-Liberty Gideons. Clyatte was owner of Strawn's Variety Shop from 1946-1988 specializing in cabinets and various mill works. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific in the Merchant Marines.

Mrs. Catherine "Cassie" O'Bryan Dabney, 20, of Bristol, passed away Tuesday, June 13, 2006 in Bristol. She was born in Blountstown and was a lifelong resident of Bristol, Florida.
Cassie was a Certified Nursing Assistant at Blountstown Health and Rehabilitation. She was known by her patients, co-workers and employers as always smiling and having a bright outlook. Cassie loved to hunt and fish and was a loving newlywed.
She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Lake Mystic Baptist Church.

Mr. Forrest Robert Weed, 85 of Blountstown, passed away Monday, June 12, 2006 in Tallahassee. Mr. Weed was born in Chicago, Illinois and had lived in Blountstown since 1956 moving here from Ohio. He attended Michigan State University where he as on the swim team and received his undergraduate in Forestry. He went on to receive a masters in Education from Florida State University. Forrest was a veteran of World War II serving in the US Air Force. He had worked for Firestone as a division supervisor and later taught Agriculture and Science in Wewahitchka. Serving God was one of Forrest's highest priorities. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Blountstown where he served as deacon for the past 40 years as well as a Sunday School teacher. He worked extensively in the mission field including work in Liberia, Russia, Spain, Indonesia, and Korea. He was very active in the Prison Ministry in Calhoun, Gulf and Liberty Counties and was a Gideon for the past 30 years.

Mrs. Cloie Lee Johnson, 85 of Altha, passed away, Tuesday, June 6, 2006, at her home. Mrs. Johnson was a native and life long resident of Altha. She was a homemaker and a founding member of Victory Hill Pentecostal Holiness Church where she attended for 65 years. She was a very active member in her church, she started a women's auxiliary which is known today as willing workers and was a Sunday school teacher. Everything in her life was about her church and her God.
She was preceded in death by her husband Henry Johnson and a son Johnny Walker.
