McReynolds - Hall

Suzanne Joy McReynolds and Mark Bradford Hall, both of Deering, N.H., were united in marriage at noon, Sunday, June 8, 2003, at the historic Hillsborough Center First Congregational Church.
The Retired Rev. Peter Lovejoy officiated the double-ring ceremony. A guitar and flute duo performed classical and baroque music selections by Handel, Bach and Pachalbel. The church was decorated with antique wrought-iron baskets and vases filled with bells of Ireland, lavender and blue delphiniums, white freesia, fragrant lilacs, mini Calla lilies, white gladiolas, pink and lavender larkspur, and champagne and blush colored spray roses.
The windows were adorned with swags of fresh ivy and plumosa sprengeri garland touched with accents of champange and blush rose sprays. All floral arrangements were created by the bride, mother and father of the bride, and her sisters.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a strapless, ivory satin, A-line dress with an asymmetrical drape skirt over a two-tone beaded Schiffli lace. She wore an ivory fingertip veil and an Austrian crystal and pearl tiara. The bride created her own hand-tied round bouquet with over three dozen roses in champagne, blush, ivory and white. It was encased in a surround of varigated hosta leaves and wrapped in ivory satin ribbon and studded with pearls.
After the ceremony, the bride, groom and guests were treated to a sernade of bagpipes on the Center Green where the reception soon followed at the historic Hillsborough Community Center Club located on the Center Green.
The candlelight reception was decorated with antique ivory wrought-iron baskets filled with pink hydrangeas, lilacs, bells of Ireland, champange, white and blush colored roses, white Calla lilies, and cream Asiatic lilies. The fireplace mantel and windows were drapped with swags of ivy and sprengeri garland adorned with blush and champagne roses.
Tables were dressed with ivory linens, white wrought-iron antiqued candle holders, and photographs of the couple through their courtship were displayed in antiqued frames throughout the room. The three-tiered wedding cake was a creation by the groom's sister.
The vanilla-scented cake was filled with raspberry fruit filling and a rich white chocolate buttercream frosting. Each ivory basketweave layer rested atop a bed of fresh ivory, blush and champagne colored roses and white freesia.
The couple reside in Deering.
The bride is the daughter of Everett and Martha McReynolds of North Danville, and the grandaughter of Eveyln McReynolds of North Danville, and the late Earl McReynolds. She is a 1989 graduate of Danville High School and graduated summa cum laude from Hesser College in Manchester, N.H., in 1991 with a degree in hospitality management. She is employed as a communication specialist with the Hillsborough New Hampshire Police Department.
The groom is the son of Glenn and Pamela Hall of Wells, Vt., and Audrey Cooper of Newington, Conn. He is a 1991 graduate of Essex High School in Essex Junction and a 1993 graduate of Champlain College in Burlington with a criminal justice degree. A former trooper with the Vermont State Police stationed out of the St. Johnsbury Barracks, he currently works for the New Hampshire State Police as a state trooper assigned to Troop-B Barracks in Milford.
McKay - Waller

On Sept. 29, 2002, in Roundhill, Va., Dr. Carolyn McKay, daughter of Michael Gordon Smith and granddaughter of Barbara McKay Smith and the late Gordon Smith, married James Waller in a ceremony that touched both the 21st century and the 19th century.
The wedding was held on the farm of Anne Simon, Dr. McKay's mother, a farm which dates back to 1780.
In keeping with the concept of blended historical and modern touches, the bride wore her maternal great-grandmother's wedding dress, originally designed in the 1920s and also worn by the bride's grandmother in 1943.
The groom wore a traditional tuxedo, classic in design but contemporary. He greeted his bride as she arrived in a 19th century carriage to the accompaniment of harp music, and they walked down a pathway of rose petals to an outdoor ceremony on a sunny and mild fall day.
After the ceremony, bride and groom, along with their guests, were transported in a cavalcade of carriages to the Inn at Stringfellow Farm, an 1850s tavern, for the reception. The menu was modern, featuring Southern and Caribbean style cuisine served on tables decorated with Civil War era lanterns and fall wreaths.
After the entrance of the bride and groom and the traditional "First Dance," the dancing represented a progression of styles, from the 1860s Virginia Reel to more modern line dancing, led by Mr. John Gahlagher of New York, a noted historical dance instructor. The guests enjoyed the blend of modern and traditional, and a wonderful time was had by all.
The couple retired to the inn for their wedding night before commencing their two-week honeymoon in Hawaii. They make their home in Purcellville, Va., where she is a veterinarian and he is a living historian.
Members of the bride's father's family who attended were her father, Michael G. Smith and wife Patricia McPeak of Albany, Calif.; her grandmother, Barbara M. Smith of St. Johnsbury; and her cousins, Devon Smith and Todd Smith of St. Johnsbury, and Victoria Smith of Washington, D.C.
Harris - Walker

Kristy Lynne Harris of East Burke and Paul Gordon Walker of Sheffield were united in marriage at 3 p.m., June 28, 2003, at the East Haven Chapel.
The Rev. Ted Ruggles officiated the double-ring ceremony. Linda Carr was the organist.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a short-sleeved white gown, adorned with pearls and crystals, with a six-foot train. She wore a pearl drop tiara with pearl accents on the veil. She carried a cascading bouquet of purple roses, white carnations and ivy.
Kari Harris, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Gwendolyn Clark, friend of the bride, and Colby Walker, sister of the groom. Kelsie Jardine, friend of the bride, was the flower girl. The maid of honor wore an A-line lilac gown, and the bridesmaids wore A-line sky blue gowns. They carried colonial bouquets of daisies and carnations.
Luke Keithan, friend of the groom, was the best man. Groomsmen were Jerett Turnbaugh and Roy Fox, friends of the groom. Tyler Hartwell, cousin of the bride, was the ring bearer.
The reception was held at the Tom Breslin Center. The three-tiered, heart-shaped center cake was surrounded by four small, heart-shaped cakes adorned with attendant figurines and small purple hearts.
Following a wedding trip to Cooperstown, N.Y., the couple reside in East Burke.
The bride is the daughter of Louise and Stephen Harris Sr. of East Burke. She is a 2000 graduate of Lyndon Institute.
The groom is the son of Gary and Lisa Walker of Sheffield. He is a 2003 graduate of Lyndon Institute.
Crane - Walls

Sarah Rose Crane and Toby Lee Walls were united in marriage July 5, 2003, in an intimate gathering at the couple's home in Barnet.
The 1 p.m., double-ring ceremony was officiated by Steven Cobb, justice of the peace.
The bride walked down the aisle to "At Last" by Etta James. The location was decorated in sunflowers, chrysanthemums, yellow roses and blue delphiniums. The groom created a special wooden arbor for the ceremony in which the couple planted blue pansies, white geraniums and peach verbena on the top of the arbor.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown that was embroidered with a delicate floral pattern and accented with white seed pearls. Jeweled sunflowers adorned her hair, and she carried a bouquet of fresh sunflowers, yellow roses and white spray roses.
The matron of honor was Melony Horne, sister of the groom and friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Erika Kirkman and Melissa Meyer, both friends of the bride. The attendants wore ankle-length sundresses and carried bouquets of white chrysanthemums, white spray roses and yellow roses. The couple's two dogs served as flower girls and were outfitted in white satin collars.
Best man was Justin Fussell, friend of the groom. Groomsmen were Jerry Horne, brother-in-law of the groom, and Thomas Ducharme, friend of the groom.
The reception was also held at the couple's home. Music was provided by singer Alan Greenleaf, friend of the bride's family. The three-tiered, chocolate and white wedding cake was decorated with yellow and white buttercream frosting and topped with fresh black-eyed Susans.
A wedding trip is planned this fall to Acadia National Park in Maine.
The bride is the daughter of Patrick and Cheri Crane of Peacham. She is a 1995 graduate of Stanwood High School in Stanwood, Wash. She is employed as a branch office administrator at Edward Jones Investments in Lyndonville.
The groom is the son of Marvin and Carolyn Walls of Camano Island, Wash. He is a 1993 graduate of Stanwood High School. He is employed as a loader operator for Global Timber Products Ltd. in Hartland.
Khosrow-Shahi - Donovan

Nini Farahnaz Khosrow-Shahi and Patrick Jason Donovan of Brookline, Mass., were united in marriage Oct. 20, 2002, at the Church of Christ, Dartmouth College, in Hanover, N.H.
The Rev. Carla Bailey, assisted by the Rev. Steven Winkler of St. Johnsbury, officiated at the 2:30 p.m., double-ring ceremony among arrangements of white and red roses, white day lilies, hydrangeas, and ivy. The musical interlude "Adagio" by W.A. Mozart was played by Sydney Foster, violinist. The organist was Ernie Drown.
The bride was given in marriage by her uncle, Ali Sharis. The bride wore a strapless, princess-cut diamond white silk organza, Victorian-style gown with silver embroidery. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of white and red roses with purple sweet peas.
Fahti Khosrow-Shahi, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Karen Lunn, Danielle Poulin, and Dinsie Williams, friends of the bride. The bridesmaids wore full-length, iridescent burgundy gowns and carried hand-tied bouquets of white and blue roses with purple sweet peas. Farah Sharis, Wanda Sharis, Sandy Sharis, cousins of the bride, Ellen Langford and Kendal Millard, cousins of the groom, served as flower girls. The flower girls wore peach organza dresses and carried white baskets and bouquets of purple sweet peas.
Jeremiah Winkler, friend of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were James Donovan, Jeremy Donovan and Christopher Donovan, brothers of the groom. The ring bearer was John Wilde, friend of the couple.
The reception was held at the Hanover Inn. Following a wedding trip to the White Mountains, the couple reside in Brookline.
The bride is the daughter of Farah Sharif of Tehran, Iran, and the late Bahram Khosrow-Shahi. She is a 1997 graduate of Swarthmore College with a bachelor of arts degree in math and French, a 1999 graduate of Middlebury College with a master of arts degree in French, a 1999 graduate of Dartmouth College with a bachelor of engineering, and a 2000 graduate of Dartmouth College with a master of engineering management. She is employed as a technology specialist with PricewaterhouseCoopers.
The groom is the son of Michael and Eleanor Donovan of St. Johnsbury. He is a 1993 graduate of St. Johnsbury Academy, a 1997 graduate of Middlebury College with a bachelor of arts degree in biology and biochemistry, and a 2000 graduate of Dartmouth College with a master of science degree in materials science. He is employed as a technical consultant for CSG Systems.
Alarie - Carley

Aline Margaret Alarie of St. Johnsbury, Vt., and Brian W. Carley of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, were united in marriage Feb. 14, 2004, at Green Mountain Grange 1, in St. Johnsbury Center.
The 6 p.m., double-ring ceremony was performed by Dinah Yessne, justice of the peace. A centerpiece of red roses and mini orchids with three red candles graced the hall.
The bride entered the room to the wedding march. She wore a navy blue velvet, floor-length, empire-waist dress with matching bolero jacket, and carried a nosegay of white roses.
Michaell LaCroix and Margeret Gryciuk, daughters of the bride, served as her attendants.
Both wore black, street-length dresses with burgundy bodices, and matching coats with burgundy collars and cuffs. They each carried single, long-stemmed, white and red roses. Alexander Cabral, grandson of the bride, was the ring bearer. He wore a multi-print vest with blue pants and white turtleneck and wore a boutonniere featuring two white and two red rosebuds. He carried a heart-shaped pillow with symbolic rings.
Al Carley and Jim Carley, brothers of the groom, were the groomsmen.
The reception followed at the Grange hall, which was decorated with red and white bells, balloons and streamers with heart accents for Valentine's Day. Each guest was personally given a Valentine thank you by the couple.
The two-tiered wedding cake was heart-shaped.
The bride is the daughter of Clement Alarie of Winooski, Vt., and the late Eleanor Alarie.
The groom is the son of Joyce Carley Hume and Robert Allen Carley, both of Belleville, Ontario, Canada. He is a public service employee for RCMP in Ottawa.
The couple reside in Ottawa.
Sears - Butler

Cassie Lee Sears of Lyndonville and Michael Andred Butler of Houston, Texas, were united in marriage Oct. 25, 2002, at the San Diego County Hall.
The 12:30 p.m. ceremony was officiated by Lynda Messner, justice of the peace.
The bride is the daughter of Paul K. Sears of Lyndonville and Wanda G. Sears of Lyndon. The bride is a 2000 graduate of Lyndon Institute. She is employed as a religious programmer with the U.S. Navy.
The groom is the son of Michael I. and Janey Butler of Houston. The groom is a 1999 graduate of Colmesneil High School. He is employed as a machinist mate with the U.S. Navy.
The couple reside in El Cajon, Calif.
