Dr. and Mrs. William C. Perkins celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Aug. 27, 2005.
They were married in Lynchburg, Va., and have lived in Aiken since 1960.
A party was given in their honor at the Palmetto Golf Club in Aiken by their five children: Michael S. Perkins of Charleston, Mary Lell Perkins of Lexington, Katherine P. Burgess of Augusta, William C. Perkins Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla., and Anne P. Johnston of Fort Mill. Also attending the party were their four grandchildren: Kathleen Perkins, Tony Perkins and Will and Allison Johnston.

Following a reception in Misty Lakes, the couple left for a wedding trip to Hilton Head.
