The couple were married on Misquamicut Beach on May 22, 1976, by the Rev. Dr. Lloyd P. Frederick. The best man was Peter Plenninger and the maid of honor was Joan Moran.
Mr. Steadman is employed by the Westerly Police Department, and Mrs. Steadman works at the Watch Hill Inn.
The couple's family include their daughter and son-in-law, Jamie and Kevin Churchill, and daughters, Jennifer, Joan and Jean Steadman, all of Westerly, and their grandchildren, Shyann and Genesis Churchill.

Lalanya Baskin, 30, of Teaneck, N.J., and Aaron William Way, 25, of Hope Valley, plan to marry on Sunday, July 8, 2001.
They have been engaged since Jan. 1, 2000. The ceremony will be held at Blithewold Mansion and Gardens in Bristol.
Lalanya has been an English teacher and assistant dean of students at the Hyde School in Woodstock, Conn., for the past three years.
Aaron recently graduated from the University of Rhode Island with a master's degree in microbiology. He plans to attend medical school at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in August. Following the wedding, they will move to Erie, Pa., to start their new life together.

Calvary United Methodist Church in Middletown was the setting for the Nov. 11, 2002, wedding of Jennifer Lynn Jansen and Eric Christian Emerson.
The Rev. James Hensley officiated at the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dale K. Jansen of Franklin, Mass.
The groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Robert Emerson of Newport.
Cynthia O'Hara was the maid of honor, and Bert Emerson, brother of the bride, served as best man.
Bridesmaids were Ellen Emerson-Dyl, sister of the groom; Martha Emerson, Kathryn McLaughlin, Alison Ireland, Jessica DiNapoli, Nicole DiNapoli, and Laurie Jansen. The junior bridesmaid was Andrea Ferguson and the flower girl was Pearl Emerson.
The ushers were Shawn Jansen, brother of the bride; Tim Dyl, Liam Clancy, Dave Wiggins, Brian Rodrigues, Jon McCurdy, Ron Poirier, Pat McCrone and Mark Kublin. Jonah Emerson was the ring bearer.
A reception at Belcourt Castle in Newport followed the ceremony. The couple visited Key West and Orlando on their honeymoon.
The bride graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Mass., and the Rhode Island School of Design. She is the project manager at ExNihilo in Providence, and a dance instructor at the Deane School of Music in Mendon, Mass.
The groom is a graduate of Rogers High School, Newport, and Rhode Island College. He is employed at the Rhode Island School of Design and is the owner of Emerson Creative in Providence.
