Kristen Swanson and Chad Trombino, both of Charlestown, were united in marriage on April 2 at 2 p.m. in Miami, Fla.
The bride is the daughter of Peter and Cherie Swanson of 10 Pawcatuck View, Carolina. The groom's parents are Mike and Linda Trombino of 7 Harbor Drive, Westerly.
The couple honeymooned on a Caribbean cruise. They live in Charlestown.
The bride graduated from Chariho Regional High School in 1996 and from the Technical School for the Air Force in San Antonio, Texas, in 1997.
The groom graduated from Westerly High School in 1995 and from Johnson & Wales University in 1997.
The couple are co-owners of Josie's Restaurant in Charlestown.
HOWARDS CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY
Friends and relatives honored Roy and Mary Howard of 82 East Ave., Westerly, celebrating their 60th anniversary.
Local life-long residents who first met in junior high school, Roy Howard and Mary Turo were married on June 18, 1941, at the Church of the Immaculate Conception with Father Frechette officiating.
Shortly after the wedding, Roy Howard joined the 34th Division of the Army Infantry serving as a first lieutenant during World War II.
The best man at their wedding was Roy's brother, Harold, who was killed in World War II. The maid of honor was Katherine Turano, who now resides in Sun City, Arizona.
Upon his return from World War II, Mr. Howard was employed as an accountant for the George C. Moore Co., where he remained for 40 years. Mrs. Howard worked for many years at the Kellem's Division of the Harvey Hubbell Co. where she became known at the "Voice of Kellems."
They have two sons, Roy Breen and Raymond of Westerly, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Until recently, they had resided for more than 30 years on Breen Road, Watch Hill.
In addition to friends and relatives and some of the witnesses to the wedding, Mr. and Mrs. Howard have received a citation from the Rhode Island House of Representatives "in recognition of this memorable occasion."
BURDICKS CELEBRATE 60TH ANNIVERSARY
Earl L. and Clara A. (Courchaine) Burdick of Alton-Bradford Road, Hopkinton, celebrated their 60th anniversary at a party given by their family at their home on Sept. 27.
The couple were married on Sept. 27, 1941, in the Church of the Immaculate Conception rectory, Westerly. The best man was the late Ernest Courchaine, and the maid of honor was Mary E. (Burdick) Caddick.
Mr. Burdick is retired from Bradford Dyeing Association.
They are the parents of Stephen Burdick of Bradford, Arthur Burdick of Ashaway, Teresa Rose of Westerly, Michael Burdick of South Kingstown, Gloria Ring of Hopkinton, and Mary Thayer of Charlestown, and the late Elaine Burdick.
They also have 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
TRACY I. CARDINAL ENGAGED TO KEVIN M. KENNEDY
Mr. and Mrs. Michael H. Cardinal of Westerly have announced the engagement of their daughter, Tracy I., to Kevin M. Kennedy, also of Westerly. He is the son of David Kennedy of East Greenwich and Arlene Bettencourt of Westerly.
Miss Cardinal graduated from Westerly High School in 1994. She is enrolled in the nursing program at the Community College of Rhode Island.
Mr. Kennedy graduated from Moses Brown High School, Providence, in 1992, and from Rhode Island College with a bachelor's degree in business. A member of the U.S. Coast Guard Reserves, he is employed at State Street Corp. in Boston.
The wedding will take place on Dec. 7, 2002.

Laura Ann Treiber and Jason Michael Elderkin, both of Charlestown, were united in marriage on April 27 at the Church of the Holy Spirit in Charlestown.
The Rev. Daryl Stahl performed the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Michele Rose of Phoenix, Ariz., and Charles Treiber of 3 Turtle Trail in Charlestown.
The groom is the son of Karen Elderkin of 114 Sanctuary Rd., Charlestown, and the late Michael F. Elderkin.
Melissa Maine was the maid of honor, and Kevin Kodzis was the best man.
The bridesmaids were Angel and Kristeen Treiber, sisters of the bride, Lori Malstrom and Ashia Cassan. Heidi Malstrom was the flower girl.
Ushers were Jaime LeClair, Timothy Dinwoodie, Michael Shurtleff, Gary Harrison and Alex Mastrom. Derek Treiber, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer.
Readers were Melissa Bowman, cousin of the bride, and Amy Sevegny, cousin of the groom.
Following a wedding reception at the South Kingstown Elks Lodge, the couple left for a wedding trip to the Bahamas. They reside in Charlestown.
A graduate of Chariho Regional High School, the bride attended Community College of Rhode Island and is employed at Bridges in Jamestown.
The groom also graduated from Chariho Regional High School and is employed at Arnold Lumber Company.

LEDOUX, PASCUCCI ENGAGED
Ronald R. and Anna Cavanagh Ledoux of Richmond have announced the engagement of their daughter Michele Laurian Ledoux, D.O., of North Providence to Peter Porter Pascucci of South Kingstown.
Mr. Pascucci is the son of Sandy and Peter Pascucci of Ossining, N.Y.
Dr. Ledoux graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1996 with a bachelor of science degree and from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2000 with a doctor of osteopathy degree. She is employed at Roger Williams Medical Center as a resident in internal medicine.
Mr. Pascucci graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 2000 and is attending Roger Williams Law School and the University of Rhode Island graduate school. He will be joining the United States Navy's Judge Advocate General's Corps commencing in 2003.
An October 11, 2003 wedding is being planned.

Miss Denham is also in her third year at URI and is pursuing a bachelor of science degree in accounting. She is planning to attend law school after graduation.

The ceremony and reception were held at the home of brides's parent's on Haversham road in Westerly. The bride is the daughter of Sarah and Harvey Perry of Westerly. The groom is the son of Betsy and Tom Blumenthal of Boulder, Colorado. The bride is a member of the Pine Point School class of 1988 and graduated from Westtown School in 1991. In 1995 she graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She was awarded a National Science Foundation Fellowship for graduate study. This year she received her Ph.D. from the University of Minnesota for research and study related to wetland environments. She is pursuing a post-doctoral fellowship. The groom was the valedictorian of the Bloomington, Indiana high school class of 1987. In 1992 he graduated Phi Beta Kappa form Reed College in Portland, Oregon. He received his Ph.D. in Agronomy from the University of Minnesota this year. He has just accepted a position as a research scientist for the United States Department of Agriculture.
50TH ANNIVERSARY: NANCY AND JAMES BEAMES
Nancy (Rosazza) and James Beames of Old Post Road, Westerly, celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 10, 2003, at a party given by their children at Dylan's Restaurant.
Mr. and Mrs. Beames were married on Jan. 10, 1953, at the First Baptist Church, Westerly, by The Rev. C. Bernard Chapman.
Charles Beames was the best man, and Agnes Brightman was the maid of honor.
Mr. Beames retired from the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics.
Mrs. Beames is retired from Scott's grocery store.
Mr. and Mrs. Beames have three children, Joyce Brusseau, James Beames Jr. and Judy Tate, all of Westerly, and five grandchildren, Ryan and Adam Brusseau, and Kristy and Kelly Tate, all of Westerly, and Jennifer Beames of New Jersey.
SMITHS CELEBRATE 25TH
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph E. Smith will celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary with friends and family on April 8, 2003, at the MGM Forever Grand Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas. Mrs. Smith was the former Pamela J. McCrillis. The Smiths were married on April 8, 1978, in St. Peter's Chapel, Mare Island, Calif., by The Rev. Allport.
Sherry Fowler was the maid of honor and Randy Fowler served as best man.
The Smiths have two children, Deidre Westall of Schererville, Ind., and Andrew Smith, residing at home with his parents.
Mr. Smith is employed at Foxwoods Resort Casino. Mrs. Smith is employed at the Cumberland Farms store on Granite Street, Westerly.
